Today at work we were using apple laptops running tiger. My friend said do you want to see something cool I said yeah he presses like 2 buttons and everything changes color like everything the look the icons and when u open photo-booth your face looks different. And then he changed it back with the same 2 buttons. Do you know how to do that I did not see what 2 buttons he pressed.

Was it these four keys?

No, you were not hacked. There is no known method for remotely hacking an iPad that hasn't been jailbroken (ie, hacked to allow apps from outside the App Store). The problem may have been caused by a strange system glitch or it may be a more serious issue, such as a hardware problem. Note that I do not understand what "changed passcode although I can get on w/ a passcode I can't change settings" means, so I cannot make any comments about that.
First, try resetting your device. Press and hold both the home button and the sleep/wake button for about 10 seconds, until the screen turns off. Ignore the slider that will appear. Release the buttons, then press and hold the sleep/wake button until the Apple logo appears. This is the equivalent of a reboot, and should not affect your data or apps.
If that doesn't help, try restoring your device from backups, and if that doesn't help, restore it to factory settings (ie, do not restore a backup). See:

If none of that helps, the issue is caused by some kind of hardware problem, and the device will need to be repaired or (more likely) replaced.

Sign out of old ID and sign in with new.

Skype Account contact list and skype name changed

Hi!
I have been actively using my skype account again lately and one time last week when I signed in, I just cannot. My username and password are correct. And so what I did was to reset my password. I was able to reset my password through my email and when I signed in to Skype, I found out that my skype account was "hacked", I think. My skype name, profile photo and contact list changed into somebody else's account.
I just want to ask what has happened to my account? Why did that happened? The username and contact list that appears to my account, I think, was leggit and not an act of hacking. Could it be possibly that our accounts switched?

Your report reads to me like your account was compromised (hacked). If you still have control of it, sign on to the account dashboard and change your account's registered e-mail address to something else, and then change the password.
Also, as a proactive measure, ensure your computer's software and patches are updated, and run your preferred anti-virus/malware/spyware program using the most recent virus signature files available.

Reset Windows 8.1 Product is hp pavilion g6/ g6-2210us

OS: Windows 8.1
My computer was hacked (I think). At the start up instead of letters it is a bunch of random symbols that I did not know existed. I tried typing in my regular password it didn't work. The shutdown, restart, and sleep button is no longer there.
I dont't know what happend or what to do. If I can I will upload a picture of the screen. It is also running very slow. So if I could I would like to reset my computer to a factory default.
Yes I have the disk.

Problem with SPDIF

Hello All,
I have Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatalty Pro Series and Digital I/O module on my Windows Vista 32 bit machine. I have connected my speakers using 3 analog outputs of the sound card and they are working great and I am able to hear exact 5. sound, when I play 5. DVDs from Power DVD player.
Now, I have connected my external DVD player optical output to SPDIF input on I/O module. now, I am getting only front L/R speakers, instead of 5.. My DVD has 5. sound, but I am able to get only 2 channels.
Please let me know, what configuration I have to use to get 5..

if ua search in the vista forum on here there are loads of threads about getting DD/DTS tab working again in vista 32-bit and some have even doen in 64-bit vsita but think more peeps haveing trounle in 64-bit vista than 32-bit vista....this is what i dotn get loads of peeps on here asking bout why only 2 speakers are working on this card and only workign throguth software when im dam sure dan got it workign again for all audigy cards and most xfi cards but some peeps have had trouble wit htese pro fatality gamer cards (which is same model as mine,no for fact that the plat gamer that coems with the module that ua put in to CD dri've area doesnt take this hack but think most other xfi cards can be made to run again and this is why creative look so bad as this bloke got it workign again so proved that vista CAN AND DOES support DD/DTS on some of its cards,as people have posted screen shots of the tab in place in vista...
hope this helps and go look in the vista threads ur find what im on abotu and some will help ua other than saying get a new card so at leats try this first before ua send it back or sale it...im waiting on my I/O module in post and if i cant get mine working as i've got same speakersas u to im gunan sale mine on ebay i think and go with what ever card can do HARDWARE decoding!!!!

Is there a direct way of addressing an object by its label value?
At the moment I am looping through all items untill it finds the label, so can be very slow.

Nice hack I think there is nothing wrong with that
I created short snippet that searches through activeDocument.allPageItems looking for specific label, it runs pretty fast. I tested it on about 5000 objects, and it needs 3-4 seconds for search, also you can search in activePage.allPageItems, so it runs lot faster. One difference is that you can search inside groups. This script returns index number in allPageItems array, so you can access object really easy.

Remove password / policy block

I got an old 8100 which has been victim to an overzealous IT department and been hacked I think to prevent users changing the IT policy.I am trying to disable the password setting, or at least change the requirements - it's currently 8 characters including text and digits which is a royal PIA every time te phone locks.
I have tried wiping the phone via security options but there's no option. The password enable and timeout are locked. I've tried putting a blank policy in via REGEDIT, but there's no policy manager within the registry. Makes me think it's OS changes that have been made or something like that.
Have also updated the OS today which appeared to reset the phone. Unfortunately though this left the password setting untouched.
Is there ANY way I can restore this device to its original state or regain control of the password?

First -- I'm not quite clear...if it remains activated on BES, then anything done to try and remove the IT Policy will be moot as BES will "reach out" and re-activate, putting the policy back in. Policies are there for a purpose -- to enforce the company policies about BBs that are for corporate use. Policies cannot be altered on the device by the end user...such would negate the purpose of the policy function, after all. So, if you are still on BES, they there is nothing at all that you can do.
Now, if it is no longer on BES and you are dealing with this, then that is another matter entirely...here is the procedure to completely get rid of the IT Policy:

"Save for Web" not working (again)

I have reinstalled Photoshop CC and removed all "save for Web" preference files.
I receive the following error message:
"The operation could not be completed. A file or directory already exists with the same name"
Which file or directory?
Wouldn't it ask if I want to "overwrite" the file?

Mac OSX 10.9.2
Before you roll your eyes and say "Watch the video" about removing preferences files - I have done all of that, in addition to reinstalling Photoshop CC twice.
It is the second time this has happened to me in a year. Now Illustrator is also misbehaving when I try to "Save for Web".
"Save for Web" is a really important feature for me - I am a freelancer doing graphics and web.
Anybody have any Ideas? Is this a common problem? Is Adobe working on it? Is it a Mavericks problem?

Okay for anybody who is interested - the ONLY thing left for me to do - and what I have done - is to create a new User account and copy all my files to the new account.
I did this by copying the files first to the "shared" folder in Users. - not simply by moving them but by copying them - Important!
There was a suggestion somewhere that you could delete the User with the problem, create a user with the same name and then reincorporate the old user data into the new account - this did not work for me.
Removing all the various Preferences mentioned in 3-4 similar posts from people with the same problem did not help.
I even contacted Adobe Customer Assistance (chat), they took over my screen and after trying the above and more, the only thing left that worked was for them to create a new User test account. This worked.
But what a botherto move everything! iTunes, iPhoto, Mail - they all have to be moved in a certain way (do your research).
Another tip - to be safe, I have kept the old account and maintained it as "Administrator" - and changed the password.
My new User (Where I moved my files to and will work out of) is not an Administrator account, and has a totally different password.
I don't believe I was "hacked" - I think a log somewhere got corrupted.

Screen share updates

I have been checking in to see if there have been any updates released for screen share since March.
Reason why I am asking is that I am still not seeing the screen share pop-up when trying to select
what to share on Windows 7 64-bit. Any ETA on when we should expect for this fix to go out?

I have tried the same coding logic on my end as well and as you suggested, the addin screen loads correctly when loaded
directl but loads in the tray without exposing its window when a click action was taken to trigger the addin.
Are there any work arounds that you can think of? Maybe some hacks? Thinking along the lines of triggering an embedded
html call, passing along the session ID. This one is preventing me from making money on my app since I can't
possibly launch this given the high usage rate of IE browsers and the poor customer experience that I would bestow on
my customer.

New Toshiba SSD with 10.7.2

I have just bought a new 512Gb Apple (Toshiba) SSD from ebay to install into my MacBook running 10.7.2. Does anyone know how to turn TRIM on for this drive? All I can find are guides on how to enable TRIM for SSDs that are NOT Apple approved.

Lion only supports TRIM for devices with certain names that match Apple's approved devices. Unless it's an Apple Device ID it won't turn TRIM on for you.
You can turn it on however using the hacks - I think you've found those though? I use the hack on my 2010 11" Air, 2011 MBP, 2011 iMac, and 2009 Mac Mini...and it works absolutely fine on all of them.

Layout cannot handle overlapping elements?

I have a custom component which elements visually overlap. I want to dynamically change the z-axis of these elements. In Flash Player, this usually means changing DisplayObjectContainer.setChildIndex() of the elements. Is it correct that the current concept of layouts (based on LayoutBase) does not easily allow to change the z-axis of elements? Currently, the z-axis seems (very) hard-wired to the position of the element in the group.
The quickest hack I've found is applying group.setElementIndex() though this is very expensive.

I think you are confusing displaylist order with displayobject screen coordinates if you want overlapping objects that can have there priority changed (bring 1 object to the front) you can't touch the display depth(z-axis) of any of these objects, overlapping of visual objects is done exactly the same way as it was done before we were given a 3d co-ordinate system in FP10 on the assumption that you don't touch the z-axis.
If you want to use 3d co-ordinate systems you also have to adjust your programming techniques to suit, for example if an object is being zooming in on once it has a z-axis less than the object in front change the displaylist index order to match.

Can not increase the Max memor pool from java options for a tomcat service

I have a tomcat service on a windows 2003 server, which is 32-bit windows. I have a 4G RAM on this server machine. When I try to increase the Max memory pool from the tomcat5w.exe tool by inserting 2000m in the Max pool memory text field, and try to restart the service; it gives me an error and the service does not get restarted. I have tried decreasing the threads stack and the perm gen, but still the service does not get started
Does any one have any suggestion or has experienced similar problem?

You won't be able to use much more than 1.4G probably. The amount of physical memory you have is somewhat irrelevant because 32 bit windows can only address 4G and something like 2G of that is reserved for the OS and with what you have left of that 4G you have to include space for shared libraries etc and the thread stacks (which takes memory away from what you can allocate to the heap).
As kajbj said you need to look at a 64 bit architecture to allocate more memory (or as a hack I think you can tell the OS to use less memory for itself).

How do i report Spam BT emails to BT?

Have had two email from BT ( i know they are not from BT) asking for login details etc (not sending anything back to these idiots)
Looks like they have come from BT addys (maybe someones account is hacked already)
Think BT should know about these spam mails so who or where should i send them?

Deploying & Managing iPads in K-12 environment?

I'm a systems administrator for my K-12 school district which has 20 locations. We're starting to get more and more ipads every year, and figured it's about time we nail down some sort of system to manage these. Currently teachers are doing their own purchasing and syncing, but we need a standardized system.
Here is what I'm going to suggest to my IT manager and cirriculum department:
-We will Active and deploy a base "image" to all new iPads in central office with Apple Configurator
-We will deploy a Meraki profile to each iPad so we can remotely manage them.
-We will have to log into the app store on each iPad under a general iTunes account that we have setup.
-The base "image" will have all of the apps that they want.
-Users will submit requests for additional app installs, and we will use Meraki to deploy them OTA with the VPP codes we receive.
-Teachers will have to enter the general iTunes account password on every iPad to allow the install of the app on that device.
Does anyone have any suggestions for this? We want to be able to manage VPP codes, devices, etc., and don't have a budget for a more popular MDM provider at the moment. I looked into purchasing an OSX Server, but it looks like the profile management ***** on it since it can't deploy apps properly and isn't a true MDM setup.
The other thought process was having one mobile Macbook that would travel around to each school to allow them to install apps via USB to the devices. (Our district doesn't have money for Macs in each location). Our budget at the moment is $1,000 or less.
Another question I had was in regards to in-app purchases. Can these be done via VPP or will there need to be a credit card associated with the iTunes account in order to purchase those?
Any help is appreciated. I'd rather do this right the first time. I'd love to use the profile management portion of OSX server, but it looks like it's not quite there yet.

The problem you might have is easily getting them on wireless at different locations
assuming each location has a different wireless ssid and password
I use apple configurator to deploy latest ios onto the device along with with minimal configuration profiles, just enough to get the device on the wireless, the rest I push out via MDM
apple configurator profiles:
auto join device enrollment profile
enrollment wireless profile
trust cert
I use OSX profile manager
my enrollment wireless is only for getting the IOS devices configured
I then use PM to push out the wireless settings mail, LDAP, vpn etc required for the user/device
with auto join enabled on the wireless profile , once the enrollment wireless is turned off the IOS devices join the pushed wireless. if a user is deleted from the device, the wireless settings are gone also
I can turn the enrollment wireless back on and it'll auto join and I can then push out the new configuration
I have basic needed apps installed, on a master itunes account. staff can use their own itunes accounts for any other apps and they can recommend apps which we look at distributing
IOS 6 seems to have removed the need for user authentication for updating apps
that can be both good and bad, depending on if you need users to stay on a particular app version.
from what I've seen with OSX PM if you push out an app update users don't need a itunes password
they just need to tap yes to accept the update, this is an opt in, if they choose no you can't update the app and have to push it out again
I would think VPP in app purchases would need credit on the itunes account either via credit card or itunes gift card, I use gift card so there is less of a worry about itunes getting hacked
I think the traveling macbook would soon become a pain
