Handling common XML schema shared across services

We are using ALSB 3.0. We have a problem, it would be of great help if you could point me in the right direction.
We are building several web services (proxy services in ALSB) that all use a common 'core' data. We have project structure where each web service is a separate ALSB project. This would allow us to version control, release, deploy individual services without any problem. Now, we don't want to duplicate 'core' data in each of these projects (we want a single copy of this). We could create a separate common project and keep the 'core' data in there. One problem we see with this is in XSD where we refer 'core' data, we need to use relative path like '../commonproject/xsd/core.xsd'; this will create a problem when we distribute the XSD to our consumers. They will not have directory structure like ours and import might fail in their development environment.
I am sure this is a common scenario and you people might have come across a neat solution for this. I would be very happy if you could share your experiences.

We are not distributing ALSB projects. We are only distributing WSDL and XSDs to clients.
One more thing "absolute" references, are you saying in WSDL and XSDs we will use absolute references to dependent artefacts? Wouldn't this cause problem for your clients to have the same structure when they try to generate stubs?
To explain our scenario in detail with an example,
we have service WSDL
hello_1_0.wsdl
-> imports hellodata_1_0.xsd
-> imports coredata_1_0.xsd
Currently, we have all service WSDL and XSDs stored only in one ALSB project. So in the import statement, we don't have to give path of XSD. Example import statement is given below,

As you can see we don't use paths in 'schemaLocation' attribute. This works quite well because when we distribute WSDL and XSDs to clients, they are all zipped as they are in the folder and sent to them. Our clients don't have to manipulate the structure of WSDL and/or XSD to generate stubs. Everything works fine. But as we are adding more and more services, single project holding all WSDL and XSDs is becoming more complex.

I am trying to use the Template designer and the web services tool in order to create a MS Word template for the quotation.
We have created a new web service, using the Web Service Tool
(transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB, type WS_DESIGN_TOOL). I can use this web service when creating a quotation word template and everything works fine.
I need to enhance the web service with some custom fields and logic. I found the blog:

The blog describe how to enhance the web service, extend the output
structure etc.
We have done all the steps in the blog, and everything looks fine. When
we test the web service, using the Web Service Navigator, all the new
fields we added to the output structure are displayed. The WSDL
document also looks fine, displayed from the Web Service
Administration.
The problem occur when try to create the word template using the
Template Designer. The XML scheme is not displayed in the word
document. This only happens if we use an enhanced web service.
Anyone familiar with this issue?

You may have to upgrade your MS word 2003 to MS Word 2007.
Before you do that please opening View > toolbars > Task Pane and check if you can get XML Schema from the web service.

How to handle multiple xmls(schemas) using java
Can anyone give me solution for the below issue.
We are handling five types of xmls(five different xsds) in our application.We have the XML and its XSD in database. Currently we are using JAXB to create and update the xmls.
In future there is a chance to add new schema. In that case our current code will not work (because the JAXB is tightly coupled with the xsds) for new schema. Is there any technology or method to handle this situvation?
I am looking for early respons.

NullPointerException in XML Schema Parser
I have run the XML Schema parser across the sample xml files without problems, but when
I try to run it against my own xml/xsd combo
I get a null pointer exception. :-(
Unfortunately the xml file and schema are
not something that I can share openly.
I can use gdb to get a traceback, but without the source I cannot get much more info:

Long time ago, I manually created a Database (APGriMMRP) and 3 Tables (dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates, dbo.Table_2_Soil, and dbo.Table_3_Water) in my SQL Server 2012 Management Studio (SSMS2012). The dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates has the following columns: file_id,
Pt_ID, X, Y, Z, sample_id, Boring. The dbo.Table_2_Soil has the following columns: Boring, sample_date, sample_id, Unit, Arsenic, Chromium, Lead. The dbo.Table_3_Water has the following columns: Boring, sample_date, sample_id, Unit, Benzene, Ethylbenzene,
Pyrene. The dbo.Table_1_XYcoordinates is a Parent Table. The dbo.Table_2_Soil and the dbo.Table_3_Water are 2 Child Tables. The sample_id is key link for the relationship between the Parent Table and the Child Tables.
Problem #1) How can I print out or export these 3 dbo Tables?

Problem #4: I plan to extract some results/data from the Parent Table and the Child Table by using XQuery. What kind of JOIN (Left or Right JOIN) should I use in the XQuerying?

Scott ChangIn the future, I would recommend you to post your questions one by one, and to the appropriate forum. Of your questions it is really only #3 that fits into this forum. (And that is the one I will not answer, because I have worked very little with XSD.)
1) Not sure what you mean with "print" or "export", but when you right-click a database, you can select Tasks from the context menu and in this submenu you find "Export data".
2) I don't know why you get that error, but any particular reason you want to run PowerShell?
4) If you have tables, you query them with SQL, not XQuery. XQuery is when you query XML documents, but left and right joins are SQL things. There are no joins in XQuery.
As for left/right join, notice that these two are equivalent:
SELECT ...
FROM a LEFT JOIN b ON a.col = b.col
SELECT ...
FROM b RIGHT JOIN a ON a.col = b.col
But please never use RIGHT JOIN - it gives me a headache!
There is nothing that says that you should use any of the other. In fact, if you are returning rows from parent and child, I would expect an inner join, unless you want to cater for parents without children.
Here is an example where you can study the different join types and how they behave:

</schema>It is specifying that anything at all can be passed in and out from the two XMLType arguments, which is fair enough: it has no way of knowing what I am expecting and what I shall return.
My question is, how do I tell JDeveloper that actually I want either or both of those XMLTypes to conform to a particular XML schema?You cannot format the date as a string, unless you do the conversion on the PL-SQL side, before you use it in your WebService mapping. It should be handled as a string.
The only way to convert the XML from SOAP, using this encoding, into literal XML is to apply XSLT to the payload. Not sure why you would like to do this, as the payload should be consumed by another SOAP-awared stack.

My XML schema makes reference to other schema, something like:

How do I handle this when using XML DB?XDB does currently understand relative URLs. We are looking at this since thier use is becoming more common. You will need to register both schemas under absolute URLs and then adjust the URL of the include or import statement to reflect this...

XML Schema mapping error when generating web service
I have created a method in java that returns an array of an object type (a user defined class). When tried to generate a web service JDeveloper did not allow me to select the method, giving the following "Why not.." explanation: "One or more parameters did not have an XML Schema mapping and/or serializer specified".
Can anyone help me in this?

AlinaThanks Mike for your advice it did work when I changed the setters and getters names, and managed to create a web service with Apache Soap profile. I created the client stub and client application to run the web service but it keep coming with soap-env error messages.

When I deployed it to jar I copied the jar file in the following directory:

I then tried and created a client stub in the same package using JDeveloper 9.0.3 wizard for creating sample java client and added a line to call my getOrbatListArray method and print it to the screen. I get another soap error message, saying:

Process Web Service - XML Schema

I'm new to ALBPM and currently trying to learn about exposing a Process as a WebService. Specifically is it possible to use a XML Schema defined in the Catalog as an argument to the process Web Service? I've tried this and found the generated WSDL didn't include the Schema in the operation. This was using the Process Web Service menu item.
The Fast Trak codes sample passes in XML as a String and parses it back into an XMLObject in Pbl. Is this the best practice way to do it?

BenI'm new to web services, but we are currently
implementing a number of Web Services that all take
as arguments a single parameter which is an XMLBean,
which has been generated by a XML Schema.
What I find surprising is that when I submit a SOAP
message to the Web Service (through the http Web
Service Tester inside eclipse), I can send any valid
XML without getting a SOAP fault. Is there a way on
the Web Service that I want the XML submitted to be
validated against the XML Schema for that parameter?
Bit surprised I have to implement my own input
argument validation, and there doesn't appear to be a
standard way to do this. I must be missing soemthing
surely? Why else would the Schema be in the WSDL?

Select XML Schema resource dynamically in Oracle Service Bus 10gR3
I have configured a Any XML Service Proxy service in OSB 10gR3. Based on one of the elements in the XML, name of the XML Schema against which the XML would be validated is got.
For the Validate action in the message flow modelling, how do I select the XML Schema resource dynamically based on the element in the request?

There's not one. The primary vision for the web-services.xml file
was/is to be a linkage between wsdl/soap and the j2ee environment. It
was not intended to be a starting point for building an application, but
a semi-private intermediary.

I am working on the CRM business partner creation by using Interactive adobe form with following steps:
1) Uploaded the offline Interactive adobe form to online interactive adobe form via WebDynpro ABAP;
2) Capture XML data into corresponding BAPI structures;
3) Save all the changes to database via BAPI.
The adobe form contains customer information as well as several table views which are bind with the context created in WebDynpro: Node NEW_BP_NODE cardinality 1:1 with single attributes and table type attributes (1:n): COLOUR_COMP, MEN_COMP etc.
While converting the xml format data to SAP context format, It is fine to use following routine to find the single attribute and map to the BAPI structure to do the database update.
NODE = DOCUMENT->FIND_FROM_NAME( NAME = 'XYZu2019).
XYZ = NODE->GET_VALUE( ).
Question: how to convert the xml table data to SAP context format in WebDynpro ABAP?

Just follow these steps:
1. Create interactive form UI element in your view.
2. Now provide Datasource and PDFSOURCE to it in form properties.
3. Now give a template name prefix with 'Z' or 'Y'.
4. Double click on it. It will prompt for interface name.
5. Provide interface name prefixed with 'Z' or 'Y'.
6. Click on Context button in the Pop up window and provide the node you have selected as DATASOURCE.
7. Click ok and it will open the form designer.
8. In this way you can create a XML Schema based Form.
9. Activate the interface and design the form providing layout type and other details.

How does XML DB handle XML Schema Validation ?
In order to validate an XML document against an XML Schema using Oracle XML DB the XML Schema must first be registered with XML DB using the method registerSchema provided by the package DBMS_XMLSCHEMA.
XDB provides two types of schema validation, 'Lax' Validation and 'Strict' Validation.
'Lax' validation takes place whenever a schema based document is converted from it's textual representation into the XML DB internal object model. Errors caught by this validation will be prefixed with 'ORA'.
'Stict' validation takes place when the XMLType methods schemaValidate() or isSchemaValid() are invoked.
The schemaValidate() method throws an exception with an error message indicating what is wrong it encounteres an invalid document. The error message associated with the exception will be prefixed with LSX.
The isSchemaValid() method returns true or false, depending on whether or not the document is valid. It cannot return any information about why the document is invalid.
The reason for having both the Lax and Strict validation models is that Strict validation is much more expensive in terms of CPU and memory usage than Lax validation.Here are some examples of what is caught by Lax validation (ORA errors) and what is only caught by Strict validation (LSX errors).
