Handling incoming "HTTP Post"

I'm a bit confused here...
I've Flex 3/ActionScript as front-end with Java back-end (with BlazeDS in between);
I need to receive an incoming "HTTP Post" sent by external server (paypal IPN) to a specific URL I need to provide - notifying on specific event, and do some action in response to that event.
> How do I implement such listener to an incoming HTTP Post in Flex?
> What kind of setup is needed to link that listener to the relevant URL?

Hello,
I have the same problem. Could anyone manage this situation?
Thanks,

  • Listen for HTTP Post in Flex

    Hello,
    I just have a simple question.  In my Flex program, I am trying to find a way to listen for an incoming HTTP POST message - something with functionality similar to that of the HttpListener class in C#.  I have not been able to find anything at all to help with this though, would anyone know of something like this?
    Thanks.

    My Flex program subscribes to changes that occur in a program on remote server.  The change notifications are sent back to my client in the form of an HTTP Post message.  The Flex program needs to be able to detect when these Posts are received.

    If you are on PI 7.3 and above, configure the HTTP AAE adapter - Configuring the Java HTTP Adapter on the Sender Channel - Advanced Adapter Engine - SAP Library

    Yes you can always a proxy within a proxy.

  • Simple HTTP Post Handler - Best Practice?

    I would like to create a fairly simple ASP.Net application that takes an XML record from an HTTP post request, submits it to a process that invokes a command line app that parses the XML file, takes the parsed XML file (as XML), and returns the result.
    For now the process can be synchronous as the transform has to complete and there are no parallel activities that need to be performed.
    I'm not sure that writing an HTTP Handler is the way to go, but maybe I'm mistaken.  Plus there are no examples of doing that in Visual Studio 2013 using IIS 8.0 or 8.5 and I don't really understand the value of applying a file extension or processing
    an HTTP post to initiate the request, perhaps using a dedicated port.  I already have a class library for handling the process request.
    I'm also a little confused about reading the post request - it seems I can just do it during the page load and that I should be able to extract the first request form field - that of course means using a webform to process the request which seems to be the
    most straight-forward way to do this. So I'm looking for the best practice for fielding this kind of request.  My target server is Windows 2012, but I'm developing with VS 2013 and C# on Windows 7 using IIS Express and configuring IIS is confusing.
    Overall it is a fairly simple app, but there are so many rich new features in VS 2013 (most of my work has been in VS 2005).  I also want to build a test app and am looking for the best way to do so, although I think I can build a simple client app
    to do that.  The business requirements will be to issue the post request from a MarkLogic xquery request which will take care of any JSON wrappers and balance between multiple Windows servers to handle the load.
    Thanks for any help with this!

  • One  last try... emulating HTTP POST with applet

    I am trying emulate the HTTP POST method for file uploading using an applet. More specifically, I am trying to upload raw data to a PHP script by making the PHP script think it is receiving a file when in reality all it is receiving is a series of headers, some other necessary info, the data, and a closer. The PHP is then supposed to save the data into a file.
    I have looked at eight or ten threads, explanations, and sample code in this and other forums that deal with this exact same thing, some even specific to PHP, read various documents on and explanations of HTTP headers and so forth, corrected every code error and possible code error I could find, and tried a gazillion variations, but still can't get the PHP script to think that it is receiving a file.
    As far as I can tell, communication with the server is being established, the server is receiving info and sending responses back, the PHP script is defrinitely being activated to do its thing, but the PHP is not recognizing anything that looks like a file or even a file name to it.
    The following information may be relevant:
    The PHP works perfectly with real files uploaded from real HTML pages.
    The server uses Apache.
    The server has no Java support (shouldn't matter, but otherwise I would be using servlets at that end instead of PHP).
    the applet is in a signed jar, and is trying to store information in the same directory that it came from.
    I am using the Firefox browser (shouldn't matter?) .
    I am hoping that someone knowegeable about this can look at the code below and point our any errors. I've also included the response I get from the server, and the PHP code. If there are no obvious errors, can you think of anything else tthat might be going wrong besides the code itsef?
    Please don't suggest I try alternate means of doing this or grab some working code from somewhere. I may very well wind up doing that, but I'm a stubborn bastard and want to find out what the #^%R$($ is going wrong here!!!
    Here is the latest incarnation of the applet code: All it does is immediately try to send some text to the PHP script in such a way that the script thinks it is uploading text within a file. it also displays the responses it gets from the server, including what the PHP script sends back.
    import java.applet.Applet;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.*;
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    public class test1 extends Applet{

    uc = (HttpURLConnection)url.openConnection();
    uc.setRequestMethod("POST");
    uc.setDoOutput(true);
    uc.setDoInput(true);
    uc.setUseCaches(false);
    uc.setAllowUserInteraction(false);
    uc.setRequestProperty("Connection", "Keep-Alive");
    //uc.setRequestProperty("HTTP_REFERER", "http://applet.getcodebase");
    uc.setRequestProperty("Content-Type","multipart/form-data; boundary=7d1234cf4353");
    uc.setRequestProperty( "Content-length", ( Integer.toString( content.length() ) ) );
    osToServer = new DataOutputStream(uc.getOutputStream());
    isFromServer = new DataInputStream(uc.getInputStream());
    catch(IOException e)
    System.out.println ("Error etc. etc.");
    return;

    osToServer.writeBytes(content);
    osToServer.writeBytes("\r\n------------------------7d1234cf4353--\r\n");
    osToServer.flush();
    osToServer.close();
    catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println(e);
    System.out.println("did not sucessfully connect or write to server");
    System.exit(0);
    }//end catch
    try{
    String fieldName="",fieldValue="";
    for ( int i=0; i<15; i++ )
    fieldName = uc.getHeaderFieldKey(i);
    System.out.print (" " + fieldName +": ");
    fieldValue = uc.getHeaderField(fieldName);
    System.out.println (fieldValue);
    }catch(Exception e){
    System.out.println ("Didn't get any headers");
         try{
    String sIn = isFromServer.readLine();
                        for ( int j=0; j<20; j++ )
                             if(sIn!=null)
    System.out.println(sIn);
                             sIn = isFromServer.readLine();
    isFromServer.close();
    }catch(Exception e){
              e.printStackTrace();
    }//end AudioUp.java
    Here's the response I get back from the server:
    null: HTTP/1.1 200 OK

    </html>
    The <html> and the "No file uploaded" message is simply what the PHP script sends back when it does not detect any uploaded file.
    Here is the PHP code on the server:
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Handling uploaded files from an applet, etc.</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <?php
    if ($testfile)
    print "The temporary name of the test file is: $testfile<br />";
    $uplfile=$testfile_name;
    $uplfile=trim($uplfile);
    print "The filename is: $uplfile<br />";
    if ($uplfile)
    copy ($testfile, "$testfile_name");
    unlink ($testfile);
    }else{
    print "No file was uploaded.";
    ?>
    </body>
    </html>

    xyz's sample code didn't work - PHP doesn't like the getallheaders line at all. I'm going back to the manual now.
    I had another thought. When I first started using PHP, I had problems with ordinary text field uploads from web pages because somewhere in the process, extra blank lines or spurious carriage returns were being inserted into the strings. For example, if I had a place where people could enter their name, password, and brief message, and tried to store the incoming strings in an array, I'd wind up with some thing like:
    name
    password
    brief message
    instead of:
    name
    password
    brief message
    Which played havoc when trying to read out information by counting lines.
    Anyway, the problem was solved by using the trim($string) function on all incoming strings, which I now do as a matter of course. I never could figure out why it was happening though.
    Do you think something like that could be happening here?? I mean, if spurious blank lines or carriage returns were being inserted where they shouldn't be, could that be screwing things up in this way? HTTP seems to insist on having new lines and blank lines inserted in just the right places.

  • Get file from HTTP POST (upload image)

    Hello,
    I would like to integrate http://www.plupload.com flash component to my APEX 4.1 website. I need it because I want to resize image and transform image before upload on client side, upload multiple files etc..
    But I don't know how to read image binary data from POST method.
    When I hit "Start upload" button on plupload component it makes some transformations and creates POST method like this:
    ------pluploadboundary1334433145869
    Content-Disposition: form-data; name="name"
    p16qp6jm3nhan1ca46me1ocr3tu1.jpg
    ------pluploadboundary1334433145869
    Content-Disposition: form-data; name="chunks"
    1
    ------pluploadboundary1334433145869
    Content-Disposition: form-data; name="chunk" 0
    ------pluploadboundary1334433145869
    Content-Disposition: form-data; name="file"; filename="centerd.jpg"
    Content-Type: image/jpeg
    ÿØÿàJFIFÿÛ„
    image content
       now I would like to read content of this HTTP POST and read sended image and store it to DB.
    Question is... how can I read file sended with HTTP POST in APEX pl/sql process or pl/sql procedure?
    Thank you...

    Hi,
    here are my two cents ...
    this will be a bit difficult. When you use the standard APEX File upload it is not PL/SQL handling the POST request. The request is handled by the webserver - depending on the variant you are using it is either mod_plsql, the C code of the Embedded Gateway or the APEX Listener. The webserver is also doint the insert into APEX' file repository. So I see two options:
    It might be possible to configure your plugin (don't know about it) the behave the same as a standard browser upload. Then for APEX there would be no difference - mod_plsql should handle the files accordingly.
    If you want to handle the POST request yourself, as said, you can't do this in PL/SQL. It would be possible to write a Java servlet doing this and deploy that servlet on the same container as the APEX Listener (when using Apache with mod_plsql you would need an additional Java server for that) ....
    Hope this helps ...
    Best regards

  • Http post from an application with file attachment

    Hi ! I didn't know where else to post this message...
    I'm trying to make a HTTP POST from an application and upload a file with it. I have no problems with the posting, just that I haven't got any ideas how to get the file uploaded as well. I've been reading loads of examples regarding the topic, and searching older posts the forum here, without any help.
    Here's the method i'm using:
                   // open connections
                  URL url = new URL ("TheURL");
                   URLConnection urlConn = url.openConnection();
                              // We do input & output, without caching
                   urlConn.setDoInput (true);
                   urlConn.setDoOutput (true);
                   urlConn.setUseCaches (false);
                              // multipart/form-data because we want to upload a file
                     urlConn.setRequestProperty ("Content-Type", "multipart/form-data");
                  // Open output stream
                     DataOutputStream printout = new DataOutputStream (urlConn.getOutputStream ());
                  // Set the actual content
                     String content = "upfile=" + System.getProperty("user.dir") + "\\file.ext&";
                       content += "other_key-value_pairs";
                  // write the data to stream, and flush it.
                     printout.writeBytes (URLEncoder.encode(content));
                   printout.flush ();
                   printout.close ();
                   // Get the response.
                     DataInputStream input = new DataInputStream (urlConn.getInputStream());
                   FileOutputStream fos=new FileOutputStream("postto.txt");
                   String str;
                     BufferedReader bufr = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(input));
                  // Write response to outputfile
                     while (null != ((str = bufr.readLine()))) {
                         if (str.length() >0) {
                         fos.write(str.getBytes());
                         fos.write(new String("\n").getBytes());
                   input.close ();Now, the response here I get from the url i'm posting to is "Failure, no data-file". I've tried many diff methods of writing the file to the stream, but always get the same result.
    I need to file attached like it would be when using a HTML form's <input type="file">.
    Please help ! This is getting really urgent !

    String content = "upfile=" + System.getProperty("user.dir") + "\\file.ext&";
    content += "other_key-value_pairs";
    printout.writeBytes (URLEncoder.encode(content));
    printout.flush ();
    printout.close ();Actually, what this does is create a request like:
    GET /path/to/file/script.language?upfile=/home/user/file.ext&other=params HTTP/1.1
    Content-Type: multipart/form-data
    -- And other HTTP params --
    The file is not actually appended to the request.
    I really don't know how Java handles the file upload, but you could do it by hand, like so:
    public static void doFileUpload(String url, String filename, Hashtable params) throws IOException {
        // Construct the request
        String boundary = "----------------------mUlTiPaRtBoUnDaRy";
        String request_head = "POST " + url + " HTTP/1.0\r\n" +
                                         "Content-type: multipart/form-data; boundary=" + boundary + "\r\n";
        String request_body = boundary + "\r\n\r\nContent-disposition: form-data; name=\"upload\"" +
                                         "\r\n\r\n";
        BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(new FileInputStream(filename)));
        int b = -1;
        while((b = in.read()) != -1) {
             request_body += (char)b;
        in.close();
        Enumeration keys = params.keys();
        while(keys.hasMoreElements()) {
            String key = keys.nextElement();
            requst_body += "\r\n" + boundary + "\r\n\r\nContent-type: form-data; name=\"key\"\r\n" +
                                    (String)params.get(key);
        request_body += "\r\n" + boundary + "--\r\n";
        int length = request_head.length() + request_body.length() + "Content-length: \r\n";
        String req_length = "Content-length: " + (length + new String("" + length).length()) + "\r\n";
        Socket socket = new Socket(url,80);
        PrintStream stream = socket.getOutputStream();
        stream.print(request_head + req_length + req_body);
        // And now an option to read the response, I will omit that...
    }Note: I have not tested this code, just wrote it up out of memory. If it does not work, it will propably need some small fixes.

  • HTTP POST to PHP server problem

    Hi, im trying post a long string to php from a MIDLET, but i have some problems. When i send the whole String, my php server cant receive the request (i have not any response), but, if the string that i send is 1/5 from the original, the process is successful correctly. have somebody any idea?
    thx

    this is my problem, extracted from another topic on this forum:
    "Hi everyone.
    I have a problem, and hope someone may help me.
    My midlet is uploading sizeable data via http POST.
    I'm using WTK104, since i need MIDP1.0
    The code have been tried on DefaultGrayPhone emulator
    and add-on Nokia's Series 60 Emulator.
    Both emulators chunck data, however in different ways.
    Deafult one simply produces wrong chunk length (possibly a bug),
    Nokia's one always chunks by equal offsets of 2016 bytes.
    I'm not using flushing, just close. All the data is being send
    at once by one output stream write call.
    So I believe (after proper investigation) that MIDP will use chunked Transfer-Encoding method whatever
    on such sizeable a data as mine is (up to 50KB) and there's no way to override this behaviour.
    Here the main problem appears - Apache refuses to accept chunked encoding in request. The corresposnding message is given in error log
    *chunked transfer encoding forbidden*. The returned code is 411 - Content-Length requred. I see no way to override this behaviour of Apache. I was trying to upload my data into Zope web-server, which is my primary goal, but it doesn't handle chunked request either.
    Has anyone faced the same problem? Who has managed to POST sizeable data from midlet? Which web servers did you use for that?
    Any inputs are highly appreciated!
    Anton"
    Another:
    "> So I believe (after proper investigation) that MIDP
    will use chunked Transfer-Encoding method whatever
    on such sizeable a data as mine is (up to 50KB) and
    there's no way to override this behaviour.Is this true? When I try to set the content-length headers and then write a large byte[] to the output stream I got from an HttpConnection, the HttpConnection appears to remove the content-length header altogether and automatically sets the transfer-encoding to chunked.
    Note- I am not calling flush on the outputstream, but I am calling httpconnection.getResponseCode, which I believe calls flush on the outputstream.

    I have the identical problem.

  • Query regarding encoding/decoding of XML over HTTP Post request

    Hello,
    I am working on a project where I need to put SMS inside XML and
    eventually transfer this XML via HTTP post from/to server/client.
    Assuming the SMS to be 7-bit text the XML may look something like
    <?xml+version="1.0"?>
    <SMS
    TESTMESSAGE
    </SMS>
    This XML when encoded in a HTML post may look something like
    http://<IP Address>:<port>/
    POST /MessageReceiver.jsp HTTP/1.0
    Host: www.SomeHost.net
    Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded
    Content-Length: 90
    xmlMsg=%3C%3Fxml+version%3D%221.0%22%3F%3E%0D%0A%3CSMS%0D%0A%09TESTMESSAGE0D%0A%3C%2FSMS%3E
    This xml is UTF-8 (7-bit ASCII) by default since no encoding format has been specified.
    My question - how will the encoding of xml change to - when 8 bit binary data
    is transferred via xml.
    for e.g.
    <?xml+version="1.0"?>
    <SMS
    <!!!!!BINARY DATA!!!!!>
    </SMS>
    for such a file how/what shld the encoding be set to.
    Further my spec-states the following.
    "The content of the XML must respect the encoding. Thus a SMS
    containing typically french characters must use ISO-8859-1 encoding"
    "This code needs to work with both UTF-8 and UTF-16 standards (ASCII and Unicode). Because of this the parsing code should work internally with UTF-16 and translate up/down to/from UTF-8 (ASCII) only when dealing with the basic HTTP."
    could anyone clarify this for me.

    The first thing you need to do is clear up some fundamental misconceptions about character encodings. UTF-8 is not the same thing as "7-bit ASCII", and UTF-16 is not the same as "Unicode". Anyway, you're making this a lot more difficult than it needs to be. Just use UTF-8 to encode and decode all messages; it can handle all the characters from any language you're likely to run into.

  • How to receive XML from Flex HTTP POST

    Hi,
    We curreontly have a setup where we have a FLEX frontend send an XML through a HTTP POST and awaiting a response also in XML. On the backend this is handled relatively simply by a PHP script that basically does the following:
    read data (in XML)from FlEX HTTP POST into a new temp XML file.
    execute a c++ program with the XML file as one of the parameter.
    return the result to FLEX
    We have decided to move to BlazeDS for various reasons.
    Looking at the examples bundled with BlazeDS they have a jsp example that returns an XML result to FLEX so that part is fine. I am trying to find an example of JSP (or Servlet) that is able to read the XML data from FLEX and write it into a temp XML file. I would then try to use runtime.exec to invoke a local C++ program to process the XML file the result of which will be sent back to FLEX.
    Any help will be very much appreciated!

Googling should turn up numerous examples.<o:p></o:p></span></p><br /><br /><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";<br />color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><br /><br /><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";<br />color:#1F497D'>Pete<o:p></o:p></span></p><br /><br /><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";<br />color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><br /><br /><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";<br />color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><br /><br /><div style='border:none;border-left:solid blue 1.5pt;padding:0in 0in 0in 4.0pt'><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #B5C4DF 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><br /><br /><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"'>From:</span></b><span<br />style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"'> khwong<br />[mailto:[email protected]] <br><br /><b>Sent:</b> Sunday, September 28, 2008 12:09 PM<br><br /><b>To:</b> [email protected]<br><br /><b>Subject:</b> How to receive XML from Flex HTTP POST<o:p></o:p></span></p><br /><br /></div><br /><br /></div><br /><br /><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><br /><br /><p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:12.0pt'>A new discussion was started by<br />khwong in <br><br /><br><br /><b>General Discussion</b> --<br><br />  How to receive XML from Flex HTTP POST<br><br /><br><br />Hi, <br><br /><br><br />We curreontly have a setup where we have a FLEX frontend send an XML through a<br />HTTP POST and awaiting a response also in XML.   • Plain HTTP post connections

    HI,
    Is there any way to limit HTTP posting connections? I know I can limit SAP max conn. in transaction SMQS, but is there any way limiting plain HTTP post?
    Now XI is posting XML messages with speed that receiver cannot handle...

    Hi,
    If you do not send any payload in the http request you are going to get a http error.
    For your second requirement, There is no any problem, You can use any existent tool, or maybe develop you own program.
    Http client.

    It is either a bug with your code or with the library, which may be
    aggravated by a bug in alchemy where it fails to report exhausted memory
    properly.  The library you are using is just a demonstration and may likely
    have bugs.

  • Kerberos Ticket via Java to BW to access BW Querys with HTTP POST

    Hi and thanks for reading,
    im Working with 2004 and the NWDS SP10. We have a project which must show some reports from the HR system via backend and some BW Reports done with Web Application Designer 3.5.
    The user of the project application is able to select personnel numbers or org units in a tree UI element. At design time we do not know hwo many of each he might select (could be a couple of hundreds or even more).
    A URL isn't long enough to support our needs (255 characters border)
    A consultant said that we should use HTTP Post with a Form. He gave me an example like this
    <HTML>
    <BODY>
    <form name="querySelektion" action="<system name>" method="POST">
              <input type="submit" value="Formular senden" />
              <!-- Template Parameter -->
              <input name="SAP-LANGUAGE" type="hidden" value="D" />
              <input name="PAGENO" type="hidden" value="1" />
              <input name="CMD" type="hidden" value="LDOC" />
              <input name="TEMPLATE_ID" type="hidden" value="Z_TEST_AX" />
              <!-- Selektionsparameter -->
              <input name="var_name_1" type="hidden" value="H1_ORGST" /></td>
              <input name="VAR_NODE_IOBJNM_1" type="hidden" value="0ORGUNIT" />
              <input name="var_value_ext_1" type="hidden" value="50058503" />
         </form>
    </BODY>
    </HTML
    This is working beside the fact that i have to fill in my BW username and password. I translated this to Java with  the Jakarta HTTP Librarys into the following code.
    try
                HttpClient httpClient = new HttpClient();
                PostMethod post = new PostMethod("http://<system name>");
                NameValuePair[] data =
                        new NameValuePair("SAP-LANGUAGE", "D"),
                        new NameValuePair("PAGENO", "1"),
                        new NameValuePair("CMD", "LDOC"),
                        new NameValuePair("TEMPLATE_ID", "Z_TEST_AX"),
                        new NameValuePair("var_name_1", "H1_ORGST"),
                        new NameValuePair("VAR_NODE_IOBJNM_1", "0ORGUNIT"),
                        new NameValuePair("var_value_ext_1", "50058503")};
                post.setRequestBody(data);
                int iReturnCode = httpClient.executeMethod(post);
                wdContext.currentContextElement().setTextView(Integer.toString(iReturnCode ));
                post.releaseConnection();
            } catch (IOException ioe)
                wdContext.currentContextElement().setTextView(ioe.getMessage());
    All i get is an Error 401 which means "Not Authorized". The Portal (where the application is running) and the BW do both support Single Sign On and the BW System is configured in the Portal.
    I think the HTTP Post is to generic. I also think that i need to make a authorization before and post the Kereberos Ticket to the BW before.
    But how can i accomplish that? Is there a SAP HelperClass to configure or establish system connections of SSO enabled systems?
    Or is the approach with the HTTP Post in java wrong, maybe there is an easier way to do transfer a lot of personnel or orgunit numbers to the BW Query?
    Thanks in advance,
    Kai Mattern

    Since you mentioned, I now tried to modify the writeToFile method in a few ways (closing the streams, directly setting them to null...), but the "java.lang.IllegalStateException: Already connected" exception remains there
    Actually I suppose this has no effect on the originally reported cookie problem, because if I just completely remove this logwriting (+ the following URL disconnect-reconnect) from the code, the situation is the very same
    I paste my modified writeToFile method anyway, maybe you can tell what I do wrong here, and I can learn from that
        public void writeToFile ( HttpURLConnection urlConnection, String filename ) {
          try {
            BufferedReader bufferedReader = null;
            InputStreamReader inputStreamReader = null;
            // Prepare a reader to read the response from the URLConnection
            inputStreamReader = new InputStreamReader(urlConnection.getInputStream());
            bufferedReader = new BufferedReader(inputStreamReader);
            String responseLine;
            PrintStream printStream = new PrintStream(new FileOutputStream (filename));
            // Read until there is nothing left in the stream
            while ((responseLine = bufferedReader.readLine()) != null)
                printStream.println(responseLine);
            inputStreamReader.close();
            bufferedReader.close();
            inputStreamReader = null;
            bufferedReader = null;
            printStream.close();
          catch (IOException ioException) { /* Exception handling */ }
        } //writeToFile()
