Handling Sequence of Services in Oracle Service Bus 11g

Hi there,
I am very new to Oracle Service Bus, I want to achieve the following sequence of operations in OSB, please help me or guide me how to achieve it in sequence manner.
1) Transfer .txt file from STFP server to local shared folder.
2) Calling EJB service to process (Read the file) and insert/update in DB.
3) Once the EJB service operation is over, transfer the file from local folder "Inbox" to local folder "archive" folder.
4) Sent the success or failure batch job email message to administrator.
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Raj

Hi,
I've created the 2 Proxy services and related business services, one service is used to move the file from one location to another and another service is used to call the EJB (using JEJB transport). I am using the sequential service call to call one after another (1st Move file then Call JEJB). The following error I am getting, pls help me to resolve this issue.

  • Exception while testing proxy service in Oracle Service Bus

    Hi
I have created a cartridge in the Financial Message Designer with a Universal External message format and a XML External message format and also included the mappings in the same cartridge.A proxy service in Oracle Service Bus10Rg3 is configured to parse and transform the messages based on the mappings using the Java Callout actions to the Financial jar API's. However, when i test the proxy service, I am getting the following exception:
Callout to java method "public static com.bea.alsb.financial.api.MessageWrapper com.bea.alsb.financial.api.TransformationAPI.transform(com.bea.alsb.financial.api.MessageWrapper,java.lang.String) throws com.bea.alsb.financial.api.TransformationException" resulted in exception: com.bea.alsb.financial.api.MessageWrapper$NullMessageDataObjectException: Null message data object in the MessageWrapper
The first java callout is to the parseText method of ParseAPI and the result i.e. the message wrapper object is saved in the variable $txtMessage. This variable is passed as input to the transform method of TransformationAPI.This is where the null pointer exception is thrown. I have added alerts after the parse method and logged the value of the variable $txtMessage. It contains the java object reference but still the Transformation API throws null pointer exception.
I have tested the same java callouts by writing a simple class calling each of these methods in the same order in Eclipse and provided the same input parameters. It works fine there. But in OSB, there seems to be some configuration issue which I am missing out on that leads to the null pointer exception.
Has someone faced this earlier? Can you please help out.

Any luck finding an answer? I have the same stack trace showing up while accessing a webservice in Weblogic 10.3.5.

  • Calling Oracle BPM Process Web Service from Oracle Service Bus

    Hi
I am using Oracle Service Bus 10gR3.
I have developed simple BPM process through Oracle BPM studio 10.3.1.0.I then followed steps below
    1. Create a Process.
    2. Expose the Process as a Web Service.
    3. Run the project. This starts the Process Execution Engine.
    4. Create an ALSB External Resource of type Management Host.
    5. Create a second ALSB External Resource for registration.
    6. Register the End Point
Until this point everything is fine. Then I created one project through Oracle Service Bus console. Under that created WSDL, Proxy Service and Business Service Folders. I am using the web service created through BPM studio as teh Business Service in SB . I then created one proxy service to route the request to the Business Service.
Finally when I try to test the Proxy Service by launching test console, I get the

    </con:fault>
I also tried to debug through "Oracle Workshop for WebLogic Version 10.3 " . But I am not getting enough details as to why this is failing.
Please help me . Thanks In advance.

  • Enterprise Business Services and Oracle Service Bus

    Hi,
We are using AIA and we have developed a number of EBS’. These are composite applications containing a mediator and are deployed to the SOA Server.
Am I right in saying that another option is to use the Oracle Service Bus and replace the composite application ESB’s with ESB’s in the Oracle Service Bus?
    Robert

    Gerhard,
I was thinking the benefits would be:
    -     End point Virtualisation – Single end point for services we can configure.
    -     Move the job of wiring the integrations from Development to Admin
    -     Single point of monitoring for SLA’s and QOS
    -     Improve visibility of ESB’s by providing a single list. (At the moment they are amongst many services in enterprise manager.)
At the moment we have 3 SOA servers connected to 6 systems. (Dev, Test and Prod) I was imagining it might be possible to have a single OSB with Service routing controlled by policies. This way we would not need three OSB setup’s.
I am also charged with planning for the development of further services and we already have a long list of composites in enterprise manager. I am imagining that this will quickly become unmanageable. With OSB we could hide the downstream services and only show the EBS’.
I also imagined that when we introduced a 11.1.1.6 SOA server we could simply adjust the routing rules at the OSB to set up a dev environment. Test out the new services work, then make similar adjustments on a per EBS basis until we have migrated completely to 11.1.1.6.
I agree that there are a lot of trade off’s and I do not really have the experience to weigh up the balance between the two. Yesterday I was asked to come up with methods of monitoring performance of the current integration as well as future integrations and the OSB data sheet talks a little bit about this which is why I am thinking more about it; Although have only got as far as looking at the OSB data sheet and some manuals.
I guess another option would be to go with some EBS’s as mediators and others on OSB but I think using a consistent method for EBS’s would be preferable.
Also there is the question do we have one OSB for all systems or separate OSB’s for Dev, Test and Prod.

  • How to develop Ping Service in Oracle Service Bus

    Hi all,
I want to develop a ping service in OSB which will ping all the End-point URLs and Databases ( i.e It will do the health check of the end point URLs ) .
when it is found any End Point URL is not reachable it should shutdown all the Osb Projects(or Proxy's) which is using the End-point URL and when ever the
End-point URL is up it should Bring the Osb Project( or proxy) up to get the requests .
I want to implement this for Asynchronous services or JMS services.
Can we shutdown any Proxy or OSB project like BPEL process ??
    Thanks
    Phani

I want to implement this for Asynchronous services or JMS services. For jms transport, instead of disabling the proxy you can make a java callout to pause the queue for consumption. This should a very small piece of java code using jmx api to pause the consumption.. So instead of designing a 'ping' service, what you can do is when an error occurs on the route node, do the following in the route error handler -
    - Configure an 'alert' action to notify to the support about the issue, This could be done in different ways depending on how your osb is integrated to the problem management system.
    - Pause the queue for consumption using the java callout.
Support can manually come and resume the consumption on the queue after the issue is fixed.

  • Unable to find service in Oracle Service Registry

    Hi,
I am trying to use the Oracle Service Registry for publishing and lookup of services (either OSB proxy service or normal service exposed as webservices.) Publish happens fine from the sbconsole of OSB. For findService or lookup from the service registry I have written a simple java client using systinet registry api which works. But I need to expose this as a webservice for a diff application to perform findservice using this client. When I try to create a webapplication i get error wasp.location cannot be identified or Protocol Repository instance creation error.
Please reply if anyone has come across same issue or got a solution ...

  • E-Business Suite R12 Oracle services loading sequence in Windows 2003

Can anyone tell me what is the loading sequence for the following Oracle services for EBS R12 in Windows 2003.
    1) Oracle Fulfillment Server service for VIS
    2) Oracle Service VIS
    3) OracleConcMgrVIS service
    4) Oracle RDBMS TNS Listener
    5) Oracle ToolsTNSListener
I have the problem where when Windows 2003 starts up, Oracle Fulfillment Server service for VIS is attempting to stop. Seems like the service is set automatic start somehow. I have to wait the service to be completely stopped, and manually restart the service. But I do not know what is the reason that cause this problem
    Thanks for advice.
    Edited by: user4992799 on Nov 14, 2008 6:39 PM

Start the following services first or set to Automatic:
    Oracle RDBMS TNS Listener
    Oracle Service VIS
Set the remaining services to Manual
Go to your %APPL_TOP% directory and click on envshell<SID>_<host>.cmd. You can create a shortcut and place it somewhere more convenient. Then cd %ADMIN_SCRIPTS_HOME% and run adstrtal.cmd apps/apps to start all of your applications services after the database has started.
You are having problems starting applications services before the database has opened.

I have the same problem and I'm not able to telnet localhost on port 7021. How can I change this port number I think that port must be 7001, it is correct?Examples server domain is pre-configured for port 7021. The samples domain will have the examples properly deployed in this domain out of box. You dont need to change any thing in {BEA_HOME}\osb_10.3\samples\domains\servicebus\config.
I doubt this has to do something with firewall . Check the last statement in the log after starting the domain.

  • Reg: Oracle service is stopping when i am running a query

    Hi...
I wrote a query with a cast function and a simple inner join on user defined tables,
and when i am executing the query i am getting the error message ORA-12500.
when i checked in the services ,my oracle service got stopped.
Can anyone tell me why this is happening???
    Version : Oracle 10g

12500, 00000, "TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process"
// *Cause:  The process of starting up a dedicated server process failed.
// The executable could not be found or the environment may be set up
    // incorrectly.
// *Action: Turn on tracing at the ADMIN level and reexecute the operation.
// Verify that the ORACLE Server executable is present and has execute
// permissions enabled. Ensure that the ORACLE environment is specified
// correctly in LISTENER.ORA. The Oracle Protocol Adapter that is being
// called may not be installed on the local hard drive.  Please check that
// the correct Protocol Adapter are successfully linked.
// If error persists, contact Oracle Customer Support. The listener only starts a dedicated server process when servicing a client request. So I fail to see how your SQL ("with simple inner joins") will somehow reconnect to the listener. Unless you are use loopback database links?
Also, do not confuse symptoms as all relating to the same problem.
Exactly what are the sequence of events that results in the error? What client are you using? How does it connect (TCP or IPC)? If TCP, does it use a dedicated or shared server? Are there any related errors in the alert log? Is there a trace file created for your session? What is the exact o/s and Oracle versions you are using?

  • Oracle Services are not removed from system (10g, on Windows 2003)

    Hi,
I haven't used Oracle on Windows Os before and not sure what to do.
    Here is what happened
1- I installed 10g on windows 2003 server, created a database with service name OPER
2- I was unhappy with the installation and removed it.
3- then I installed Oracle 10g software again, creating a database again which has name IZROPER
now, there are two of every oracle service in the services.msci
service names containing the first db's (OPER) are still showing up in services, how can I remove them?
    ORACLEDBCONSOLEoper
    OracleJobSchedulerOper
    OracleServiceOper
    etc..

    start -- run -- > regedit
In regedit mode --> HKLM -> SYSTEM -- currentcontrol set --> services --> here Oracle services are avilable , you can delete from here.

  • ClassNotFoundException with Custom OWSM Policy in Oracle Service Bus

The jar file is in the user_projects/domains/mydomain/lib directory.
Attaching the policy to BPEL services has no issue and the policy is invoked successfully.
I am unable to determine why the OSB would behave differently in this regard, or what I need to configure differently in order to have it found by the class loaders for the OSB.
    Any help or suggestions appreciated.
    I am using 11.1.1.4.0
The jar file has the necessary policy_config.xml file and the META-INF/mylabel/mypolicy.xml files in situ. As I said, it is working in the soa_server but not the OSB.

Have you restarted servers after putting jar in $Domain_Home/lib directory? Also try after explicitly adding this jar in classpath by editing server startup script (startManagedWeblogic.cmd or .sh) or in domain env setting script (setDonainEnv.cmd or .sh) and restarting the servers.

  • Error using the test console of the Oracle Service Bus 11gR1

Hi I am facing a an issue while using the test console of the Oracle Service Bus 11gR1 .
Every time I try to execute a business service or a proxy service I end up getting the following message.
    Error Accessing Test Configuration
*"Test Console" service is not running. Contact administrator to start this service.*
In fact to add to my frustration I am unable to execute any of my proxy services from outside clients like SOAPUI as well.
Is anyone else facing this too ??
Also every time the server starts I can see some diagnostic error messages on my Eclipse console.
*[ERROR] AdapterManager - ServletContainerAdapter manager not initialized correctly.*
Attached the whole log at the end below.
To provide an update on my trouble shooting
    1. ) I tried to give the IntegrationAdmin and IntegrationDeployer roles to my admin user. in fact i also tried to give it all the possible privileges.
Result: Still the same error message.
    Error Accessing Test Configuration
"Test Console" service is not running. Contact administrator to start this service.
2.) I have already tried to change the following entry <java:alsb-test-console-debug>true</java:alsb-test-console-debug> in my C:\Oracle\Middleware\home11g\user_projects\domains\OSB_domain\alsbdebug.xml

This is really putting me off and its really disappointing to see all these issues in this new release.
How can oracle let a release slip in with such a Major Issue.
Please can any one help or provide a work around atleast.
    Regards
    Nitin

I guess till version 10gr3.1 you only needed to start one server and it allowed to access both admin and service bus console.Yes, in 11g as well you may access the admin and OSB console by just starting the admin server but in 11g OSB configuration gets deployed on OSB server (managed server) and test service also runs over this server.
Are you saying there is some other server I need to start just for running the test console ????Yes. Managed server osb_server1 needs to be started for deploying, testing and accessing OSB resources.
As If the OSB server was not running how can I check my published services, modify them and do all the bits and pieces after opening the open the service bus console but not just test them???You can modify and save your configuration without staring OSB server but if you will check in change centre then all the changes being done without starting OSB server will remain in partially activated state.
I have been using the service bus for 3 years and I have never faced any such issue. With each new release you may get new features and with a major release like 11g, architecture and functionality may change.
If it all there is some other server I need to start then whats the process to do so ??Open command prompt. Navigate to $Domain_Home/bin and run command
    startManagedWeblogic.cmd <nameOfManagedServer>
    for eg. -
    D:\OFMW11g\mw\user_projects\domains\ofmw_domain\bin>startManagedWebLogic.cmd osb_server1
Once this server is up and running, try using test console.

  • How do I install Oracle Service Bus?

Much thanks to anyone who can help! I have been a developer for 20 years and I have never had so much trouble with run a setup program.
I am trying to install Oracle Service Bus 11g on a Windows 7 machine. I have successfully installed WebLogic 10.3. The Oracle Service Bus installation program wants me to enter the paths for Oracle Middleware Home, Oracle Home Directory, Weblogic Server Location and OEPE Location. No matter what I enter for these I am told they are incorrect. For example:
Specified Weblogic home location is not a valid location.
Let's concentrate on just the Weblogic home location. I have tried every directory and sub-directory where Weblogic has been installed. No matter what path I enter, I get the error message above.
Setup defaults this path location to C:\bea_default\wlserver_10.3 so I tried copying everything to this path. Still I am told the location is not a valid location. How does anyone ever get this to work? What am I doing wrong?

    Hi.
I have exactly the same problem than 786801. In the "Specify Installation Location" screen of the Oracle Service Bus installation process, after providing the correct paths, the message "INST-07248: Specified Weblogic home location is not a valid location" appears.
WebLogic Server 10.3.3 is installed in /opt/oracle/middleware
The folder wlserver_10.3 exists under that path, so I'm entering /opt/oracle/middleware/wlserver_10.3 as WebLogic Server Location.
In addition to the WebLogic Server, I have installed SOA Suite 11g without problems. The database schemas for that products have been created with the Repository Creation Utility.
I don't know what to do. Any help would be so much appreciated.
Here are some lines of the installation log, where the problem appears:
