Handling Session Object in WebDynpro Java

*After Validation in WebDynpro Component, if the user is not authorized to access the page, i want to close the session of that Particular login user and sent back to the login page (home page)*
i don't want to close the window
come out of the application to the login page
In Java, i can get session object by request.getSession(true);
in webDynpro how can i get the Session Object.

I am developing an application in WebDynpro Java (J2EE Engine 7.0), which does not run in the portal but is simply displayed on the WAS server.
The problem is I need to catch the exception from the code to not get the error 500: session expired.
I can not change the session time from the properties of the application because it is a customer requirement with 15 minutes session expires.
How I can resolve this?

To change the error page, it is in the web.xml, for example:

<location>/customerrors/500.jsp</location>
</error-page>
With this code if I have a 500 error, will launch the jsp (500.jsp).
my question is: where I have the web.xml?
Do I have to develop a J2EE aplicaion or is directly in my WebDynpro application or is on the server?

Event handling in Gantt chart Webdynpro Java

I have a Gantt chart where I have names(name1,name2..) in category(Y) axis.
Now I want to fire an event when I click name1 or name2 .. on the Gantt chart

1. Create an action, say, "ChartClicked" with a parameter, say, "pointID" of type String. Set this as the action on the "onClick" event of the BusinessGraphics.
2. In the wdDoModifyView method, write this code:
if (firstTime)
IWDBusinessGraphics chart = (IWDBusinessGraphics) view.getElement("<ID of BusinessGraphics>");
chart.mappingOfOnAction().addSourceMapping("id", "pointID");
3. In the eventhandler method, "onActionChartClicked", you'll see a String parameter called pointID. Depeneding on where you click on the graphics, this will change.

Steps for calling stateless session bean in Webdynpro java
Go to NWDS -> open perspective ->j2ee
select EJB Module Project ->create a project with name
Open the Project -->RC on ejb-jar.xml -> Select new --> EJB
Give name to EJB Bean (First letter should be in capital letters)
select the type of bean as Stateless session bean and give the package name to store that EJB bean.
After that Expand ejb-jar.xml and then select the <projectEJB>
Double click on this on method tab double click you will get business method where we will create the methods for business logic
Double click on projectEJB and then RC on bean tab and write required business logic in bean window as follows(based on requirement we will design a business logic).
After writing the business logic go to project -> rebuild
Till now we have created one EJB jar file
then go to File-->Enterprise Application Project -->create a project (projectEAR)
After creating a project click on next-> here we will have ear projects and then we select specific project required for our application.(here select projectEJB)
After that Calculate EAR project will be available on j2ee explorer.
Right click on <Bean> here
select New->Web Service->give a name to webservice and select Default configuration type as simple SOAP
-->click next -> Finish.
That webservice and related are created in ejb-jar.xml .
Expand the ejb-jar.xml.and double click on < webservice>
RC ProjectEJB -> Build EJB Archive RC on CalculateEAR ->Build applicationarchive.
Expand the projectEAR->RC on CalculateEAR.ear->Deploy to J2EE Engine
Double click on calculateEAR.ear ->Webservice navigator tab ->we eill servers expand the node
select the specific WebService
Here we test the webservice by click on Test and test it.
After that go to Web dynpro perspective ->create one webdynpro Project and one component
RC on model> Select import Web Service model(last)>give model name and package
and select radio button as local file system or URL
Go to WSnavigator->copy the WSDL path and paste it in model WSDL path and click on finish.
from here onwards steps are same as that adaptive RFC model

ITS sessions in WebDynpro JAVA

Hi experts
We are developing a WebDynpro JAVA application in WAS7.0.
In one view, we show a ITS page into iframe object. When open this page, in SAP transaction SM04 is showed the ITS session, but when we navigate back, to other page, or close navigator, the ITS remains open in SAP.
If we open the ITS page directly in navigator and close them, the ITS session disapears in SM04.
Any idea to solve this?

I believe originally access to session was deliberately not made available inside WDA.
Growing security concerns due to misuse of session information and
perhaps other reasons as well.
X.509 is considered a better approach.
This may not help you in your problem.
But you may see a trend in WDA pushing more robust and client independent
approaches.
Full x.509 access should remove the need for session fiddling.
Also when developers access such session info directly, there is a possiblity
when they dont understand the technology exactly that they create a security hole.
You may know how to do safely, it is however discouraged.
Im not aware of a way to get at the session info inside the WDA framework.
Well not without a mod to the framework.
It may be possible without a mod, but I dont know the trick.
If someone has a little trick... please post.
You may need to use BSP, if your only solution requires access to the session info.

How to get the session reference of any Webdynpro Java Application . My purpose is that thr is one WD application is getting launched , now if suppose user didn't perform any action on it and session for that application got expired . After the session got expired i have to update the table with the status . So to track that i need the session reference of WD application which i m looking for .
How could i get the same . Kindly help me on this .

Theme in WebDynpro java callable object

Hi Experts,
I have created a portal theme and deployed on the server.
Now i want to use this portal theme in my WebDynpro java callable object.
I know how to use themes in WebDynpro application, set the theme in Exit plug of component interface view.
However in WebDynpro java callable object how do i achieve this?
here should i use WebDynproCOInterfaceView to set the desired theme to the callable object ?
or should i set the theme in my Componet's interface view?
i tried in both but its not working, i can still see the default theme.
Am i missing anything here?

File Handling of my local system in Webdynpro Java

I am in need of accessing my local file system or any other system using my webdynpro Java application. For example when i use File file = new File("c:
"); and list the files i get the files in the server. rather i should be able to get the files from my local system or any other system in the network as well. how to do that. Please give a solution for the same.

Webdynpro applications are run on browser. Browsers not support direct client system access due to security reasons. so java.io.File can't be used.
you can achieve this by using File Upload/Download UI elements only.

First check is Java stack is running ?
make sure J2EE_ADMIN user not locked.
Ans please check password in secure area. check password in secure store should be correct.
may be you can try with restart of SAP and DB.

Creation of Adobe document in webdynpro java

I have a requirement to download a table entries into Adobe Form. Its not interactive, just with few rows. For this do i need to have ADS installed in my portal server? or any configurations engough.
I created one simple pdf and deployed, i am getting the fallowing runtime error.
com.sap.engine.services.webservices.jaxrpc.exceptions.InvalidResponseCodeException: Invalid Response Code: (401) Unauthorized. The requested URL was:"http://xxxx:50100/AdobeDocumentServices/Config?style=document"

Thanks for your reply. I checked the ADS in portal system and it is installed. By checking configuration guide, I did basic authentication steps. When I checked by running the webservice with ADSUser and password I can see the version number.
Now When I am deploying one webdynpro application with few line in PDF Form, I got the fallowing exception.

Handling sessions (identifying, mapping)

Hi.
I'm still new to handling sessions and users with javax.servlet.*
Two questions, one about identifying one other about mapping :
-how do you access the user login name ? The object HttpSession.getId() tells me nothing interesting, because this id changes everytime the user connects
-in a project where there are information about the user (say a UserAccount class) to be mapped to him, in what piece of code do you code the bind action? I'm using the FORM memory realm, from TOMCAT. Is it possible to bind objects to a user with this kind of authentication?

If you are using FORM based authentication then you can get the userid of the logged user using the following:
1.
String userid = request.getRemoteUser();OR
2.
java.security.Principal user = request.getUserPrincipal();
String userid = user.getName();

Multi User session mgmt, Multiple Session objects

I am creating a multiple user web application where in each user information is handled separately. when user log in a session is created and all info of this user is stored in this session object. But when another user logs in information of first user is displayed for the second user and overwriting the first user info in session object.
Question : Can each user have a different session object so that session info is not overwritten.

If I understand it correctly, eventhough the two users are in different sessions, their session information is being mixed up...correct.
Are you using JSP? If you are using JSP, and you declared the variables in the <%! variable x = new String("Test"); %>, then that variable is considered static. Therefore, when another user logs in and you replace the variable, you are changing the static variables value...Remember, JSP is basically compiled into a java class, and you are creating a static variable by doing what I think you are doing.
Do you think you can provide more information as to what you are doing?
