  • WebDynpro with Adobe Interactive Forms

    Hello Experts,
    We use Java Webdynpro with Adobe Interactive forms. We have 2 local development components. In the first development component we create a PDF and mail that PDF to client. De mode we used for PDF creation in 'UpdateDataInPdf'.
    The client fills out the PDF and send it back to office by mail.
    The second development components reads the mailbox and displays the PDF. The mode for this PDF display is 'UsePDF'. We use a PDF utility to transfer the data from PDF to the context. We can change the data in the PDF but is not reflected in the context. How can I fix this.

  • Pass rich text string from webdynpro java into interactive form

    Hi, experts:
      I know rich text-related questions have been asked by many other forum member.
      But I still cannot figure out how to display rich text string in the interactive form.
      below code is set rich text string in my webdynpro program.
    wdContext.currentDataForPDFElement().setDescription("<html xmlns:xfa=\"http://www.xfa.org/schema/xfa-data/1.0/\" xfa:contentType=\"text/html\"><body><p>20100730 0950</p><h1><strong>test1</strong><br /></h1></body></html>");
    or
    wdContext.currentDataForPDFElement().setDescription("<p>20100730 0950</p><h1><strong>test1</strong><br /></h1>");
    Text field in the interactive form has been assign "Field Format" to "Rich Text", "Data Format" to "XHTML".
    I also check XML in the "XML source" tab of interactive form.
    <field name="Description" w="152.817mm" minH="25.2984mm" colSpan="3" access="readOnly">
      <ui>

    What I miss? Any hints would be very appreciated.

    Trouble with xhtml text in adobe forms
    Prevent HTML escaping in RichText fields

  • Webdynpro and adobe interactive form

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement where i have to develop an interactive adobe form using webdynpro.
    In the layout of a view , i created an element of type "Interactive form" and do the necessary setting.
    In the properties of  "Interactive form" i have "ENABLED" field, once i uncheck it and execute the application, i get the PDF but non editable mode.
    Once i check this field "ENABLED" , i am not getting PDF,I only get a CROSS button on executing the application.
    Can any one please help me to solve this problem.
    Thanks
    Mahesh

    Hi,
    By default always Use 'ZCI' Layout as form layout and Choose Display type as 'native' in Interactive Form UI properties when you design and develop interactive forms using webdynpro abap.
    If form layout is 'xACF', then choose Display type as 'activeX' in interactive form UI properties.
    If the form is designed using xACF layout then you can run the report "FP_ZCI_UPDATE" by entering form name and choosing update radio button. This will add some script to your form that is required for using native controls.

  • Update values on an Adobe Interactive Form

    My question refers to the thread posted back in 2004 which remains unanswered...
    Thread: http'How to update values in Adobe form?
    With ECC 6.00 (SP10) , assuming that the Webdynpro and Adobe Interactive Forms has been correctly setup, can values on an Adobe Form be updated after retrieval from the back-end database?
    Updating of UI elements NOT on the Adobe Form has always worked; but, there it is unclear if the problem to update values inside the Adobe Form has been resolved.
    Can anyone address this issue with a detailed explanation or example code?
    Best regards,
    john

    Can you please, open a customer message in the BC-SRV-FP queue and please, provide your landscape component info, i.e., ECC 6.00(SPS10), AS Java SPS?.  Please also, provide a WTS connection and information on how to replicate the problem.  If it is possible also, upload the webdynpro project in question.
    Thanks... George

  • Web dynpro with adobe interactive forms and button submit

    Hi,
    I'am new with webdynpro and adobe interactive forms so i just trying some example with an adobe interactive form with a submit button event handler inside the webdynpro. But i can't catch the event handler submit that i creaate on onSubmit property of the interactive form.
    Can anyone help please.
    Thank you very much.

    I think I understand but just to make it clear. I use texts created using function module "SAVE_TEXT". In my Web Dynpro I  select one or more of them and use the button "insert text" (with appropriate functionality behind it) to insert them to specified location in my PDF form opened in this Web Dynpro. Considering what you said it is not possible to replace this "insert text" button by drag and drop functionality. Am I correct?
    Btw great job with the book "Next Generation ABAP Development" Thomas!

  • Adobe Interactive forms - ABAP Webdynpro or JAVA Webdynpro?

    Hi,
    I am an ABAPER and I got few requirements for Adobe Interactive forms Offline Scenario/Online scenarios & ALV reports.
    I have practiced a session ( How Tou2026execute an RFC model with inputs from Interactive Formswith RFC  Module ) -JAVA webdynpro where it interacts with SAP via BAPI.
    Now my question is  I am bent more towards ABAP.. I want to do this in ABAP but unfortunately I haven't found any similar material for ABAP webdynrpo.Could anyone pls suggest me !
    FYI.. We are also developing some ALV Webdynpro reports and I am using PURE ABAP which i like it.
    So the other reason is we don't want install NWDI and complicate this structure as we don't have ESS/MSS requirment here. Just we  need some forms/reports on portal.
    Any suggestions and links which can help me here?
    rgds
    Vara

    Hi Vara,
    You can develop Interactive forms using WD ABAP also.
    [E Learning- Interactive Forms using WD ABAP|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/media/uuid/c766e918-0b01-0010-99b1-c2b78cd059b3]
    WD Java is useful in case, when your ABAP system is less than ECC 6.0. Otherwise you can achieve same functionalities in WD ABAP also.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Comparision matrix of Webdynpro Java and Adobe Interactive form

    Hi Experts,
    In our project we have to choose the GUI between Webdynpro Java and Adobe Interactive forms. Can anyone help me out with strong comparision parameter's in order to select the right technology.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hi ,
    Depends on your project requirement : if you project is simple and want to use  less UI controls  then use Adobe Interactive Forms (AIF).
    But In your project needs large number of UI controls and to show huge amount of data then best option is  Web Dynpro Java.
    Web Dynpro provides wide varieties of UI controls for designing your web application . Adobe Interactive Forms have limited controls .
    Web Dynpro take care of your Client side eventing which is not possible in AIF . AIF Developers needs to know Adobe scripting too.
    If your Client data is huge AIF take so much of time to render your content and also this depends on your reader version installed on the end user too . Web Dynpro Java is Client neutral & it won't take much time to render the content.
    Use AIF  to show/process Business data in any Web application. ideally it is not suited for complete GUI of your project  .

  • Showing linebreaks in Adobe interactive forms webdynpro java

    Hey
    Im using interactive form from Adobe to show the content of my context, but the linebreaks gets converted into spaces. Heres my scenario:
    I have create a context:
    Person (node)
    - Name (value attribute)
    - Lastname (value attribute)
    I have create a view (view1) with 2 TextEdit to enter som text. This two TextEdit fields is binded to the contextnode.
    I have created another view (view2) with interactive form. The interactive forms consist of 2 InputFields that is also binded to the context.
    When i run the application i insert som text in the first view (view1). Then i go to the second view(view2) to display the content as a PDF. This works, but my problem is that the linebreaks I have created in the view1 gets converted into spaces in view2. I have allowd multiple lines.
    My question is that:
    does Adobe interactive form support linebreaks from the context? It is possible to enter linebreaks if I edit the interactive form at runtime, but I want it to display the linebreaks automaticly from the context.
    Are there any way around this? Please help me out. I cant find any sap note about this issue

    I know a little more about the problem now. After viewing the XML source I change the property of the inputfield.
    It was like this:
                <field name="verdipers_felt" y="130.7001mm" x="180.1801mm" w="101.6004mm" h="44.4501mm" locale="no_NO" access="ReadOnly">
    but i changed the access to be nonInteractive
                <field name="verdipers_felt" y="130.7001mm" x="180.1801mm" w="101.6004mm" h="44.4501mm" locale="no_NO" access="nonInteractive">
    now view2 shows the linebreak as in view1... Buut! when im going back to view1 from view2, the linebreaks gets converted into spaces
    thats pretty wierd, aint it?

                     I have an Adobe Interactive Form as UI element in my webdynpro View. This form is available in the context attribute in Binary Format. I can read the form from this attribute as Byte Array only. I want to save this file in to a folder located in the Portal Server (ex : path :
    usr\jc00\j2ee\........\temp\myfolder).
                  I am trying  with the following code :
      IWDAttributeInfo attributeInfo = wdContext.getNodeInfo().getAttribute(IPrivateTestCompView.IContextElement.PDF_SOURCE);
           IWDModifiableBinaryType binaryType =(IWDModifiableBinaryType) attributeInfo.getModifiableSimpleType();
           IPrivateTestCompView.IContextElement element =     wdContext.currentContextElement();
           binaryType.setMimeType(WDWebResourceType.PDF);
           //if a file in the 'FileResource' attribute exists
           if (element.getPDFSource() != null) {
                try {
                                         String ext=binaryType.getMimeType().getFileExtension();
                                    String fileName="PriceUpdateForm1";
                          byte[] b = wdContext.currentContextElement().getPDFSource();
                          File files = new File("C:
    usr
    sap
    EP7
    JC00
    j2ee
    temp
    HTI
    "fileName"."+ext);
                          try {
                                                           FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(files);
                                                           out.write(b);
                                                           out.close();
                                                                                              } catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
                                                            //TODO Auto-generated catch block
                                                           e.printStackTrace();
                                                           wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess(e.getMessage());
                                                 } catch (IOException e) {
                                                           //TODO Auto-generated catch block
                                                           e.printStackTrace();
                                                           wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportSuccess(e.getMessage());
                          element.setPDFSource(null);
                      } catch (Exception e) {
                           throw new WDRuntimeException(e);
    it is giving me the error :-

    I have seen several message postings similar to this, but none of the solutions seems to fit my case.
    Any ideas?
    Regards, Bob

    Hi,
    i got exactly the same error after installing nw2004s SP07  sneak preview.
    I checked oss note for changing the hostname - without success.
    But now i found the reason. I missed to configure the : "Destination URL for the Adobe Document Services" as described here:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/02/560f41ca73d349e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Matthias
