Happy with your Infinity service?

OK I'm new to BT & Infinity and am quite happy so far.
I noticed in another thread someone posted that there should be a thread for those that are happy with their service.
Well this is for those who are.
So for WIW this is a "feel good" thread.
Please ONLY post here if you have no issues.

I think I was responsible for the thread call!
When the Infinity ads first started appearing on TV I laughed, thinking that we'd be the last to get it being so far from the exchange and previous experience showed that any upgrades to broadband speed didn't apply to us. I was very surprised when I checked to see if I was eligible for Infinity that indeed I was. I duly ordered it and fully expected, even up to the day of installation, that an engineer would break the news that it couldn't be installed. But fair play to BT, it was installed promptly with no fuss.
So far I've had no issues with the service. Being on the Poplar exchange, which is well known for the slowest speeds in London, the switch to Infinity has been amazing. In the month or so I've had it I only had one brief slowdown at peak times but the difference between 20 and 37mb isn't noticeable when you've survived on .5mb. Both my wife and I can watch TV programmes at the same time when I couldn't even watch TV on one without constant buffering. I can download 1GB in under 10 mins, that would have taken the best part of a day before.
BTs customer service does seem to be lacking but the staff here kind of make up for that in solving problems. I can empathise with those that have problems with the service or getting the runaround by engineers. I'm sure the vast majority of people have no problems but they wouldn't be as vociferous as those having a bad experience.

Are you guys happy with your N97s? Do you have major problems with it? (I have heard some issues such as connections to internet without user authorization and can't be turned off, do you have that?)
What about the white one? Do you think white one will be a dirt magnet? Any dirt problems with white one?
    Thx
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I cannot say that I am happy with my N97. i am returning to Nokia after many years using palm products, treo 600, Treo 650 and finally a Treo Centro. The principal reason for the change is that Treo don't do 3G and I needed a phone that i could use as a modem for my lappy when out and about and, quite basically EDGE does not cut it. So I have ben running a Centro fully loaded with apps for everything, editing, audio and video playback, turn by turn navigation with TomTom and an external GPS, audible audio books, lock down password app email and web. All solid reliable and verything synced with my mac and goosync. The whole lot cost about 320 quid. So I wanted a keyboard that put iPhone in the bin as well as its rather restricted availability. N97 looked like the real deal ut am I glad I got it as a vodafone upgrade rather than buy it myself!
    problems so far:
    1No real sync with Macs
2random lock up at end of call initiated from screenswwipe particularly if other app is running such as music
3persistent problems trying to get contacts onto the phone, it would not sync with anyy service, google, OVI ,goosync , OVI suite on PC, eventually yesterday I got a sync with PC suite after doing a factory reset so I now have contacts in the phone but do not have a reliable sync to update them or remote backup. The contacts app is also **bleep**. No findduplicates, totally unclear search that is not at all quick compared to the Centro
4 sat nav poor compared to tom tom, maps ( yes the latest ones) are at least 18 months out of date with road construction, search frequently fails to resolve destinations  from downloaded maps or over the air and today dumped me 5 miles off target due to a bad postcode search!
5 random bugginess. this is occasional incorrect screen updates, failure to stop displaying nag messages in maps application and on many internet connected sites after you press the buton or tick the box not to be shown them again.
6 that side switch! absolutely useless. can't use it if phone is in car cradle. had to put nUnlock on this does work most of the time but not always, depends on what app is on screen when it switches off the lights
7 battery life absolute rubbish if you are using sat nav or playing music and probably using wifi. Also intermittent failure to charge from either the Nokia power adapter or a usb connection with a laptop, very annoying if you have left it charging overnight and you are travellin all the next day
8 could use a decent agenda view for the day like every other calendar app
9 phone, why does it sometimes use nokia tune insead of the ringtone set in the profile? no contacts have associated tone  and this frequently happens when no caller ID is sent by the caller
10 essential apps that I have to pay extra for, PDF reader for goodness sake! free on every other platform! quick office, Functional docs to go free with treo!
11 generally poor and inconsistent user interface, though that may just be in comparison with mac and palm OS, did symbian hire ex microsoft programmers
To be honest I thought  that symbian would be more polisshed than palm OS which is very many years older and runs on tiny processers and ram how wrong I was.

  • Where do you discuss just being happy with your Mac?

Where do you go in the community for some positive thoughts and when you are just plain happy with your Mac?
Let me paraphrase a song from South Pacific,
"There is nothing like a Mac,
    Nothing in the world.
You can take your PC back.
There ain't anything like my Mac!!”
I am converted and I love it. First my iPad, then my iPhone and now a proud owner of a Mac. "Who could ask for anything more..."

Build quality of the laptop is great, and it's matte black and brushed metal is gorgeous, but the support is a bit lack luster
Brushed metal? you seem to talk about another laptop.
I'm happy with my W510 after having memory module problems that i solved, the screen is great FHD and it's fast and built like a tank.
It is an old fashion conservative laptop, it's not for everyone, but you get what you pay for.
However i do feel Lenovo shouldn't have added USB3 ports to the laptop as they are not supported by BIOS at boot, also i think most manufacturers should drop Displayport as HDMI is standard on all projectors and TVs these days.

  • A paying customer who's fed up with your 'customer service'

Let me see - I'm paying customer trying to renew a subscription that was a reduced rate (hence why I'm not doing it online) - and sometimes I actually want to speak to a human being for a sales transaction.  I'm also a customer who's purchased your products repeatedly since the early 2000's if not earlier, and have been an enthusiastic supporter of your products.
That's going to stop now - if I can.
In brief, here's 2 data points that make me reconsider if I want to have anything to do with your company:
1.5 hours on hold in a queue AFTER I did the 'Adobe calls you back, estimated wait time of 4 mins'.  This is a phone queue - most large companies and organizations have figured out how to make one of these work properly.
I call through to direct sales for Creative Suite and get the 'there is no phone support for this product - please go online, we will now disconnect this call'.  You have a phone tree that doesn't allow you to return to the main menu OR speak to a sales rep - in 2014? Really? Is there not a way to cut costs and actually care about your customers? Is shoving all your interactions online the answer? Will your shareholders like the decreased sales that come as a direct result of losing customers due to shoddy customer service practices?
I'm a loyal paying customer, and will resubscribe because I need it for work, but honestly, I'm fed up.  Not that I think anything will ever change here - we can complain in the forums, file complaints to the BBB (I know, silly me) and a sympathetic customer service rep will try and help us even though the issues are systemic and involve brand loyalty and reputation.  Nothing will change, and I've essentially given up on your brand and products.  There is nothing worse than a company who has betrayed its loyalest customers, but in the end, it's your fault for not understanding the basics of customer service.  It's ironic that you're in the creativity business.  Creativity is about innovating, improving and designing solutions, and creating positive emotion.  I feel sorry for a company that cares so little for its customers and is so out of touch with what matters in business, that you've lost the creative spark that caused me to love your brand in the first place.  I hope you enjoy your arrogance.  We'll continue to use your products, but every time I launch one of them, I'll curse you and hope you fail.

  • Trying to decide 9650 or Samsung Facinate, are you happy with your BB?

    Hi,
I am going to get my upgrade, and getting my first smartphone. I will be using for email, txt, phone, and a little web. Are you guys happy with the blackberry, or is it getting out dated and I should move to the driod platform? Was looking at the 9650.
    Help

BlackBerry cannot be beat for instant email, texting (the Bold keyboard is amazing), call quality and battery life. Do you have friends with BlackBerrys? You can use BB Messenger to chat with them. In fairness, other smartphone platforms have instant messaging as well, but BBM is just easy and always connected, and you can see when someone has read your message (not sure if others offer this feature). And a big plus for me is I can stick a BB in my pocket and not worry about the screen cracking or scratching.
I wouldn't worry about the platform being outdated. RIM is still a strong contender because BlackBerrys just work the way they're supposed to. Get what's right for you, because these opinions constantly change. I still see lots of "Back to BlackBerry" threads.
Since you said "a little web," I think the Bold might be a good choice for you. If you were into heavy browsing, watching videos, or loading up on free apps and games, I'd say check out the Fascinate. If you want fun, innovative stuff that looks amazing onscreen, BB is not known for that.
As a previous poster said, try out both devices in a store. It's the best way to know. Good luck deciding!

  • Really Disappointed With your Customer Service

    Hi there,
I have never posted to the forum before but I bought an item in April (a power inverter so I could plug my laptop into the airplane I was flying back on from my trip). When I got on the plane, I realized they actually had real plug in outlets so I didn't need the inverter I had bought. I never once used it.
Unfortunately when I got home, we moved the week later and my best buy bag got shuffled into a closet. I just found it last week and tried to return the item to the store. I explained the situation, and showed the receipt. I realize that it is far outside of the return window, but I was disappointed by the rude customer service agent who had 0 empathy for the situation.
This type of customer service, where you are unwilling to understand extenuating circumstances an offer a one time exception, has really put a bad taste in my mouth about your company.
Is there anything you can do to help?
    McKelle

    Dear McKelle,
This type of service is not at all what you want you discussing with your friends and family. We want you to brag about the world class service you receive at every Best Buy you visit. I am very sorry for any lack of empathy that was shown under your circumstances.
The employee assisting you should have treated you with the same amount of respect as they would with any other customer looking to perform a return. While this doesn’t mean they would be making an exception, you should not have left feeling the way you did. We have recently made some large improvements to our Return & Exchange Promise to better serve our customers and to differentiate us from other retailers. For instance, we can now take back items with missing packaging or accessories for a small deduction depending on what is missing.
I was a manager in our stores for a couple years before I came to work at our corporate level. I worked very hard with my employees to ensure we were providing every customer with an experience that was better than their last. If this wasn’t happening, I wanted to have that feedback to share with my team. I would like to send you a private message to gain some more insight on this experience to share with the leadership at the store you visited. To check your private messages, click on the envelope in the upper right-hand corner while you are logged into the forums.
I hope you won’t let this one poor experience change your outlook on us altogether and will come to us in the future for your technology needs!
    Respectfully,

  • Are you happy with your Galaxy S5?  I'm looking for a new phone.

Are you happy with you Galaxy S5?  I'm looking for a new phone.

Very happy after getting it to stop keeping the display lit after charging completes.  Battery life blows my Galaxy Nexus out of the water.  The GNex was like an electric car with a 30 mile range.  Always looking for a charge.  The S5's screen is gorgeous.  OLED is a must-have for me.  Signal strength is better than the GNex and the S5 is XLTE-ready so you can get faster speeds in those markets.  I got 69.08/18.95 in Kansas City back in May.  Other XLTE areas have had download speeds of high 20s to low 30s.  Performance is good.  The interface feels smooth and responsive.  I even like the look.  It's like something out of a 50s diner.
My only real gripe is the storage.  16 gigs is pretty sad these days and only 10 gigs are available.  I know you can add a 128 gig card (I have) but few apps load completely to the card.  Heck, lots of apps won't put anything on the card.  A flagship phone should have 32 and 64 gig options.
I also wish I could just load the bare OS and skip all the bells and whistles that Samsung's added.

  • Are you happy with your Touch?

I am looking at an iPod Touch since I really don't need an iPhone.
Right now I am using a Palm Pilot and I like it.
Has anyone made a switch from the Palm Pilot to a Touch?
    Are you happy with it?
    Thanks,
    Fred

I've owned a lot of electronics and feel the Touch is the coolest of them all. Now that I've got a MiFi I can listen to Pandora pretty much anywhere, on my TOuch. We just drove from San Jose to LA and had Pandora on the entire time, in the car. Very awesome. There is an app for just about anything imaginable with many of them being free. While the screen doesn't have the gorgeous blacks and color of the BB Storm, it's still cool to watch movies on the Touch, play various games, view the internet, and on and on. My wife and I both use our Touchs every day and by plugging in to recharge when the indicator shows about 1/2 charge, we don't run out of juice to use them to our heart's content. Highly recommended. You can even straighten pictures on the wall with a Touch!

  • Are you happy with your X1900 XT video card?

I'm considering upgrading to an X1900 XT for use with FCP6.
I notice a lot of folks having problems with this card, on apples's own store forum http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?pg=1&mc o=C459AF1A&productLearnMore=MA631Z/B&revw=MA631Z/B

Are FCP users generally happy with this card? Maybe the problem is only with gamers?
How long have you been using the card (seems like problems can take months to show up).
Have you added 3rd party cooling to resolve issues with heat and noise?
    http://www.arctic-cooling.com/vga2.php?idx=90
I'm gathering that the ATI card is best for Color - that many of the features in FCP take more advantage of the ATI card and Nvidia. Is this true?
    Thanks!

I'm ABSOLUTELY happy with X1900 and I have been recommending it a few times.
Many people are happy with it and recommend it.
Yes, if you use Motion and Color this card is essential.
    Hope this helps!

  • Still on the fence about the Nano?  Are you all happy with yours?

    Hi,
Is there a certain week number I should look for when buying the Nano like week 38 (that was mentioned for the Touch model before). I know some have had problems with a slanted screen as well.
How about the sounds is it pretty good? I saw one in the store yesterday but they didn't have earbuds out for it. I'm still between this and the Classic but obviously want good performance so will sacrifice space for that in the end. Are there still bugs with this one?
    S.

I'm pretty happy with my 3G Nano so far. I got it about a week ago shipped from China (got it engraved from Apple). But my prior iPod was an original 1G 5GB iPod. So it's about 1/6th the size and has over 50% more capacity than what I'm used to. Battery life is a lot longer as well. The things I was looking forward to was the ability to view video and photos on a TV. So I'm most disappointed that Apple has locked the video out functionality. Only one reason makes sense for why they did that, and that is to stick it to their licensees so Apple can charge higher licensing fees for 3rd party iPod video devices. That decision can only frustrate and annoy iPod owners--expecially since even Apple isn't yet selling their own video-enabled cables yet (you can't find them in Apple retail stores and they're backordered for weeks on the Apple store.com).
My screen is mounted straight (In fact I haven't personally seen any crooked ones), and I've started subscribing to video podcasts and have been very impressed with the viewing quality on the 2" display. It's not that much smaller than the Classic, and though I would have loved the larger iPod Touch display, I just couldn't justify double the price.
The included games are okay. I probably wouldn't buy any new ones since the Nano is so small and the touchwheel is so low on the iPod that it cramps my hand to use it for extended time needed for a game, but that's just me.
I've heard the coverflow has issues on the Nano. But so far, I haven't encountered either the problem with coverflow lag or cover jumbling. As far as I can tell, since I've populated all the relevent track tages in iTunes they seem to group as expected for all my music.
Probably the second thing I'd criticize the Nano on would be the storage capacity. I was hoping for 10-16GB when Steve announced them. 8GB is a bit cramped for anyone who seriously wants to utilize it for music, photos and videos in my opinion. But I think I'll give iTunes synchronization a try and see how it goes (I've always managed my prior iPod manually) as far as maintaining a fresh source of podcasts to keep me interested.
Overall. The sound quality seems great. I'm not hyper-sensitive, so I don't hear any extra hiss in the audio at all. Though I've read that there are some audio-dropout problems once you start sync'ing photos onto the Nano (but I haven't gotten around to installing photos yet)
I'm sure there will be more software updates for the Nano in the future, I wish Apple provided some way to customize the view when an audio track is playing. I'd much rather have more song info displayed along with a head-on square view of the cover art, but I'd be surprised if any significant interface changes like that are ever introduced.
I must say, the Nano looked a bit odd when I first saw it online, but in person, it's really the nicest tiny iPod ever in my opinion.

  • I'm so disappointed with your costomer service in Taiwan

I've purchased an Apple computer from 2007, I liked Apple so much because I saw they care their customers more than Microsoft, Apple even set Genius Bar and phone support for any technical problem, which I though if I have any problems, I can find customer services easily. However, the problem came! I 've some technical problem with my imac. Therefore,I took it to your  retail store(Istore) in Tainan Jhongshan Branch ,Taiwan. And you help me save the problems indeed.
But the Imac is so heavy for me(155cm,44kgㄩㄡ) to carry it to your store where its located at.And I ask one of your sales to help me to take it.And he promissed  that he would transport it to me when I arrived immediately.  HOWEVER,the Store Manager told me that they are too busy to take it to me when I arrived and ask me  to wait, and so I did. I waited for 10 minutes, and NO Phones  or No body told me How Long I should wait for my imac. I called again, and the SAME ONE told me that they still are on busy. Then another 10 minutes came, but I did not receved my mac.
YOU promissed me you would take it to me immediately, but you waisted my time about 20 minutes!!!A SALE is not just to sale something, especially you are the store manager!!!And it seems like Apple is not responsible and do not care about their customers when you had sold the production to them.I am so disappointed with Apple, and I'll recommend me and my friends, and try to declare to all the forums we should never purchase anything from Apple because they are not responsible for their costumers! For YOU Apple just want to sale and dig our money, BUT not care about us!!!

We didn't promise you anything, or did we sell you anything nor take your money. You are not communicating with Apple when you post here. Everyone here is just a fellow user. And these forums are for assistance with technical problems, not complaining about Apple's services.
I'm not going to comment on your complaint itself since we really don't know what the real situation was, none of us being there. In any case, there's absolutely nothing anyone here can do about it. If you feel that you were treated badly, then by all means buy from some other vendor.
    Regards.

  • What is wrong with your customer service?!?! It's becoming impossible to get a price adjustment!!!

I have been trying everything to get a price adjustment on an iPad mini 3 64 gig that I purchased for 499.99 and is now 424.99. I have made 3 phone calls to no success and have spent a total of over an hour on hold to try to get this done. I need someone here from Best Buy unboxed to take care of this.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Aldiggi,
The purchase of a brand-new tablet is by no means a small investment, so wanting to receive the best deal available is certainly understandable.
I've had the chance to review your account and it looks like a member of our post-purchase support team was able to assist you on the 4th, shortly after you posted an update. You should have received a message confirming the price adjustment, so I'd encourage you to check your inbox and junk mail folders for that e-mail if you haven't already done so. Please also keep in mind that the funds may not post to your card right away -- the exact timeframe required is determined by the card issuer.
Thanks for your patience, as well as for ordering with us! I hope you're enjoying the new iPad Mini so far.
