Hashset Object Setting in Stored procedure

I have a store Procedure:

I am trying to call a stored procedure using CallableStetement. The stored procedure accepts a SET object. So I am setting the Hasset as CallableStatement.setObject(HashSet);
But when the CallableStatement.execte() is called I am getting the following error:

Empty strings when passing a Java object to a Stored Procedure

I'm using the interface SQLData to pass Java objects to StoredProcedures. All the object's attributes 'arrive' to the Stored Procedure ok, except the strings, which are empty.
Here is my Oracle object:

Invalid Object when Calling Stored Procedure from JDBC Adapter

JDBC Outbound adapter in XI 2.0 connected to SQL Server. I've coded my mapping to format the XSL mapping properly but the Adapter appears to not be able to find the Stored Procedure. Error message returned is "Invalid Object spStoredProcedureName".
Does anybody have any clue as to what I'm missing???

I know this is trivial, but did you use the "full" name of the SP as <schema>.<procname>???

Performance to fetch result set from stored procedure.

I read some of related threads, but couldn't find any good suggestions about the performance issue to fetch the result set from a stored procedure.
Here is my case:
I have a stored procedure which will return 2,030,000 rows. When I run the select part only in the dbartisan, it takes about 3 minutes, so I know it's not query problem. But when I call the stored procedure in DBArtisan in following way:

It will take about 100 minutes. When I used DBI fetchrow_array in perl code, it took about same amount of time. However, same stored procedure in sybase without using cursor, and same perl code, it only takes 12 minutes to display all results. We assume oracle has better performance. So what could be the problem here?

Getting result set from stored procedures in database controls in weblogic

I am calling a stored procedure from database control which actually returns a result set
when i call the stored procedure like

Newbie question on how to return java objects from java stored procedures

Hi,
As you may guess, i'm new to this.
I have a stored procedure that does some calculations and creates a list of java objects as the result of the query.
How would I return the list from the database to the client application?
Would I have to create an Oracle type that maps to the java object?

Can I call a VB object in a stored procedure?

I need a PL/SQL stored procedure to call a Visual Basic object. Can it do that? If so, how? Someone mentioned using a cartridge, but I can't find information that supports that.

Yes you can call a C program from inside a trigger. You need to create a Oracle LIBRARY for you C program. This is documented here: http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/statements_62a.htm#SQLRF01301
Note: This is the 9i docs but the same functionality existed in Oracle8.

Is it a cursor with a direct connection to the server-side database-data ? Or is it just a copy of the results once "loaded" by the query and delivered by the Server to the client ???
Second: I have a Stored Procedure on a MS SQL Server 2000
I try to call the stored procedure via jdbc. The last query in the Stored Proc is a query relying on local temporary tables. If I execute the stored procedure by my java-class, i get a
java.sql.SQLException: [Microsoft][SQLServer JDBC Driver]No ResultSet set was produced.
The usual "Select, Update and Insert-stuff" works fine with JDBC.
Stored Procedures WITHOUT resultset work fine too.
But this one just refuses to give me the results.
Executing the same stored procedure in 'MS SQL-QUERYANALYZER' gives me my expected results.
Any ideas?

Multiple result sets from stored procedure into CachedRowSet

How can you obtain multiple sets of data from a stored procedure that returns multiple result sets, when you'd like to use CachedRowSet rather than ResultSet?
My database's stored procedures return multiple result sets, but I'm not sure how to manipulate that using CallableStatements and CachedRowSets... I read the RowSet tutorial from java.sun.com but that didn't cover the case of multiple result sets and CallablStatements.
How might I do this? Thanks a lot.

Invalid Object error in Stored Procedure

It was a bit of a puzzler, but here is a repro that demonstrates Thomas's problem:

What is happening is this: In the statement
SELECT @@procid AS beata INTO sture
the table is created in the default schema of the current user, not in the default schema of the procedure owner (which is dbo, since the procedures was created in dbo). This was certainly unexpected, at least for me.
But in
SELECT * FROM sture
the regular rules, and here sture resolves to dbo.sture, not guest.sture.
Thomas should make sure that he uses dbo.xxxx in all his SELECT INTO statements.

Returning objects from Java stored procedures

I need to pass an object from Java to a Java SP which updates the object and returns the object back. The Java SP will be calling a PL/SQL procedure which returns some nested tables that I want to stick into the passed object.
I tried using "IN OUT" for the object in the call spec but got an error that it was not "appropriate for the parameter". So, the next option seems to be to pass it in and then return it from the Java SP. I'm just wondering though what the the best approach for accomplishing this? I've looked through some of the sample code on the OTN but haven't found anything yet that really helps.

I am trying to use custom object classes. I have setup a type map for the connection and my custom class implements SQLData. Yet, when my client tries to call the Java SP, it gets ORA-00932 complaining of inconsistent data types (expected IN conversion failed).
I turned on some debug info (i.e. oracle.jdbc.sql=true) but it didn't provide any useful info in regards to why I'm getting this error. Unfortunately, the JDBC Developer's Guide does not provide full examples of the code.

Setting a Stored Procedure Variable within a CASE Statement

I am attempting to build a Merge/Purge Key of our Members and am trying to use this syntax...

WHEN SUBSTRING([@NameLast],@Counter,1) <> 'A'
AND SUBSTRING([@NameLast],@Counter,1) <> 'E'
AND SUBSTRING([@NameLast],@Counter,1) <> 'I'
AND SUBSTRING([@NameLast],@Counter,1) <> 'O'
AND SUBSTRING([@NameLast],@Counter,1) <> 'U'
THEN CASE
WHEN @Counter = 1
THEN @MergePurgeKeyLastNamePos1 = SUBSTRING([@NameLast],@Counter,1)
I cannot seem to set my Storage Variable @MergePurgeKeyLastNamePos1 with the non-consonant value that it finds.
Do I need to over simplify this first by setting some CHAR(1) Storage Variable and then building the 4-character Merge/Purge Key of Last Name?

Assignment cannot be done in a case THEN. Only a scalar value can be returned.
You can do assignment like SELECT @variable = CASE.....

Memory leak problem while passing Object to stored procedure from C++ code

Hi,
I am facing memory leak problem while passing object to oracle stored procedure from C++ code.Here I am writing brief description of the code :
1) created objects in oracle with the help of "create or replace type as objects"
2) generated C++ classes corresponding to oracle objects with the help of OTT utility.
3) Instantiating classes in C++ code and assigning values.
4) calling oracle stored procedure and setting object in statement with the help of setObject function.
5) deleted objects.
this is all I am doing ,and getting memory leak , if you need the sample code then please write your e-mail id , so that I can attach files in reply.

1) create oracle object :
