this nani have a error in jdbc connection in the jdbc connection to be used type 4 driver an error to be displaied an error was ]java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection[u any one to find the solution urgently

Check u r connection string give the correct host name and username password for the connection string also provide correct DB name to the connection string

I get an error when I try to retrieve a JDBC connection from a WLS datasource using a remote client. My Weblogic server version is: WebLogic Server 10.0 MP1 Thu Oct 18 20:17:44 EDT 2007 1005184
I use the following code to retrieve the JDBC connection:

InitialContext ctx = null;
DataSource dataSource = null;

When I execute this code with the weblogic.jar in the classpath everything works fine. However, when I put the wlfullclient.jar in the classpath which I created using the JAR Builder Tool I get the follwoing error:

Can please anyone tell me what's going on there? What really astonishes me is that the class mentioned in the stacktrace is neither present in the wlfullclient.jar nor in the weblogic.jar, but using the weblogic.jar everything works fine. Any hint would be appreciated so much ...

First of all, let me clarify what we did and why we did it: We have a stand-alone client application that needs to communicate with a Weblogic server using the t3 protocol (we don't want IIOP or HTTP tunneling). According to the official BEA documentation (see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/basics.html and http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/t3.html) we needed to create the wlfullclient.jar file. We did this using the Weblogic JAR Builder Tool (see http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs100/client/jarbuilder.html). Unfortunatley we discovered the problem mentioned in my original post when we tried to run the client with that wlfullclient.jar.
Regarding your classloading question: The InstrumentationSupportImpl class is located in the wlfullclient.jar, so it does exist in WLS 10.0 (it is also contained in the weblogic.jar). Unfortunately this JAR does not contain the required class "weblogic.diagnostics.instrumentation.InstrumentationDebug". I searched for this class and found it in the OSGI module "com.bea.core.diagnostics.instrumentor_1.0.1.0.jar" shipped with the Weblogic server. Obviously the JAR Builder Tool did not include the contents of this OSGI bundle into the wlfullclient.jar. I tried to include this OSGI bundle into the classpath of the client app manually (just for testing purposes), but this onyl resultet in another NoClassDefFoundError. This time the class "com.bea.objectweb.asm.Constants" could not be found.
What astonishes me is the fact that the connection retrieval works fine when we only have the weblogic.jar in the client applications classpath, but fails when we have the wlfullclient.jar in the classpaht. It seems that the t3 communication is handled completely different, depending on what JARs I have in the classpath. Also, JMS communication works fine in both cases (i.e. for the weblogic.jar and the wlfullclient.jar). The only thing that causes problems (at least as far as we have discovered) is getting a JDBC connection from a datasource. I simply fail to see why this is the case.

Protocol violation error in jdbc connection

Hi all
I am facing a problem with jdbc connection to oracle DB.
My code works sometimes, and sometimes it throws one (or more) of the following SQLExceptions:
protocol violation
Bigger type length than Maximum.
The same code works in munerous locations with numerous DBs.
Th DB version is 10.2.0.4
and I downloaded the latest ojdbc14.jar driver
I would appreciate any assistance

I looked at the error code and the object types, but it fails when calling next in the result set.
And I did not set the object types at that point
The object type is set only after running get functions (For example resultSet.getInt())
Also, the same code works in many other locations and even in that environment it succeeds sometimes.
Also, sometimes it fails only with the Protocol violation error and sometimes with both errors.
Any ideas?

TNS error in JDBC connectivity in win 7 64 bit

i am a newbie,working in eclipse(j2ee/oracle db), everything is working fine in win XP,but with the same code wen i switched to win 7(64bit) in case of jdbc connectivity after loading the driver( Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver") statement ) its showing (TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified) error in the line( DriverManager.getConnection(url, username, password) statement)

You got mixed up somewhere. Don't use the ODBC driver, use a proper Oracle driver (ojdbc, note the added 'j'). On the Oracle website you can find the driver and guides how to properly use it.

There can be too many problems that prevent connecting to the database. I suggest you get back with more information when you will have it in order to save us from guessing game :-)

TNS-04610 error, in JDBC connection

I'm using the following connection string:
String url = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@" + serverName + ":" + portNumber + ":" + sid;
dbconn = (OracleConnection) DriverManager.getConnection(url, username, password);
To some IPs, it connects great, to others it gives me an exception:
TNS-04610: No literals left, reached end of NV pair
What does this mean and how can I fix this problem?

My bet is you have a corrupt tnsnames.ora file.
copy a known good one back over the top, or go through it with a fine tooth comb.

JDBC Connection Error ORA-12514

Required Microsoft Sql Server 2005 Server Roles for JDBC Connection

Hi!
I have developed a database in MS SQL Server 2005, to which I would require only bulkadmin server role from an external java application, because I only need to update rows, insert values or use select queries in the database.
The problem is that, using either the Microsoft JDBC Driver 1.1 or the Java JDBC ODBC Driver and the Windows XP Data Base (ODBC) configurations, I need a user with sysadmin server role inside Sql Server, otherwise JDBC won't connect to the database using the selected user. Even if I leave the sql login with setupadmin or any server role lower than sysadmin, the connection is refused.
Is there no way to connect using JDBC to MS Sql Server 2005 other than granting the connected user sysadmin rights? My code looks as follows:

Well i personally prefer usage of open source MS SQL SERVER 2k jdbc driver called jtds instead of the driver provided by MS themselves(which is proproteriry) as i had similar problem which i personally encountered when i was using it.

If the serial is the id of the connection..
5. When Cache timeout appears, I try to find in the log when the connection closing was open, but I didn’t find anything. What that means??

I have problem finding a jdbc connection leak and hope to get some tips from
a som friendly person who has some experience about this.
The application contains some 100 classes and CMP beans.
All connections are fetched with datasource.getConnection and are realesed
in finally() immediately after the sql-query is done.
Except for the entity beans of course which has the transaction required
attribute set.
Any ideas much appreciated!

should be defining a connection as a method variable, obtaining it from
a TxDataSource in a try block, used completely, and closed as the only/first
thing in the finally block. We will handle the close() correctly, it won't
hurt the tx if there is one, and it will do the right thing if there isn't one.
How do you know there's a leak? Usually our leak-detection shows where the connection
was made, so you can find out why it wasn't closed...

I was trying to create a report that uses Oracle OCI JDBC connectivity. I am using Eclipse3.4 download from "cr4e-all-in-one-win_2.0.2.zip". I have successfully created a JDBC OCI connection.
The connection parameters are given below:
URL: jdbc:oracle:oci8:@xe
Database: xe
username: <userName>
password: <password>
I have tested the above connection in Data source Explorer and it works fine!!!

Thanks for the feedback. I was able to create a report in Creystal Reports Designer 2008 using OCI. It is not allowing only in the Eclipse plugin. In our environment we are not allowed to user Oracle thin connections and ONLY OCI is allowed.
1) Can you please let me know if there is a way to do this?
2) Will it allow data sources using native database driver?
3) If so, can I use JRC to create these reports from a desktop java program?

Error while opening JDBC connection

The JDBC connection works in the current page, but when I clicked a tab to go to another page using the same database, I received the error:
Error while opening JDBC connection.
ORA-01005: null password given; logon denied
Unexpected exception caught: java.lang.NullPointerException, msg=null
I used jdbc data source, I assume. In the application module configuration, there are two listed there. One is UserServiceLocal, the other one is UserServiceShare where datasource is specified. I also specify the dataSource in the Domain server admin console. I deleted cwallet.sso file. My development and deployment machine is Vista.
I would appreciate your input!
