Having problem with iMessage

Hi,
I seem to be having an ongoing problem with my iMessage! First started last week when everybody was having problems with iMessage, however mine is doing it again tonight! My iMessage has been fine all day but stopped working this evening and I've tried restarting phone and iPad but not worked. I've turned iMessage off and now it won't let me activate it, says my apple ID is incorrect - which I've used it else where and its fine. It's not just my phone - same problem on iPad! Any suggestions?? Thanks

This is because the storm.  At the same time one of our corporate network providers went down that's based on the East Coast.
Again the outage is known to have been caused by storm and internet intermittent issues on the East Coast.

  • TS5185 Switching to android and still having problems with Imessage

I recently switched from an Iphone4 to an Android phone.
I have followed instructions for turning off imessage on my old handset and have also deregistered my phone after logging on to Apple Support.
However, my friends who have iphones still send me imessages which don't come through.
I can't seem to get through to Apple (without paying £25) to ask them to manually deactivate me, so have resorted to this discussion forum.  Can anyone help please?  (I'm not prepared to ask all of my friends wiht iphones) to remember that each time they send me a text they have to change it to an SMS!
    Thanks,
    Rachael

  • I'm having problems with iMessage

iMessage or says it doesn't deliver but it goes through sometimes on the iPhone and the iPad

Make sure you have a stable internet connection and you are close to the modem.
Go Settings>Messages>iMessage make sure its turned on and also when iMessage its unavailable you have the option to send it as a SMS by turning on "Send as SMS" option below the "Send Read Receipts".

  • HT1222 Having a problem with iMessage on my iPad mini.

Bought my Ipad from the US & presently using it in Nigeria.I'm having a problem with iMessage on my iPad mini, I've been trying to activate it and I've been receiving an error message saying my password is incorrect which I'm pretty sure isn't because I still buy apps on the iTunes Store with it. What can I do?

Have you looked at some of the 3rd party apps that will do this for you? Some of them are iPodAgent for Windows, copypod, yamipod. Most of them can be found on versiontracker.com, if not try to "google" them. Also, if you have purchased music, you can now import that off your iPod to your new system. Hope this helps.

  • I am having problem with my imessages not going through

I am having problems with my tx messages not going through.  some do and some don't

Do you mean after a phone update? Do you mean just at home? Does it happen everywhere?  Do you have wifi turned on? If its on and your not connecting just clear out the connections (forget) then reset up the connections and see if that helps.  Did you get a Jelly Bean update? Many people have had wifi connections issues because your router is either outdated and not supported with the new os, or it needs a firmware update.  Post back with more information.

  • Anyone having problem with iphone getting not delivered message after sending picture and it really is getting delivered to recipient.

Anyone having problem with iphone getting a not delivered message after sending pic and it really is getting delivered to recipient.

Same problem here with and I've done everything shy of a total reset which I also find unacceptable. This problem exists on all iMessage platforms (iPhone, iPad, and Mac) so I don't see how restoring my iPhone would help the problem.

  • Problems with iMessage across mobile devices

My wife and I both have iOS 5 on our iPhone 4's, and I have iOS 5 on my iPad 2 as well. I receive her messages from her phone on both my iPhone and my iPad, but my iPad won't let me reply: the Send button is blue, but the word "Send" stays grey, and won't function. Obviously it is receiving messages just fine, so I have something right in the settings, but why can't I send a message? It doesn't matter whether I am in my home wi-fii, or running across 3G- it won't work either way. Please help!

I am having huge problems with imessage. I go to send an imessage and the sending bar at the top gets to around 90% and then just stops. It takes around 10 minutes before it finally says fails. Often you dont even realise it has failed as it says it has sent, yet when you check your phone there is a red dot against it. This is a huge problem both in and out of wifi areas. My phone is usless when trying to text my wife who also has an iphone 4s as it only sends an imessage around 50% of the times I Try.

  • REAL problems with iMessage activation same with Face Time

I'm having real problems with IMessage activation same with FaceTime, the phone shows the activation is being made but it does not activate!
Apple ID and password is OK, it's working with other applications
    Any ideas guys?!

My daughters had the same problem with both of their iPod Touches.  One logged back into iMessage and FaceTime, the other consistently would not login with the same error, "An error occurred during activation.  Try again."
Check your date and time.  Its likely incorrect.  Once the date is corrected.  Restart the device.
For what ever reason, some devices lose track of the date.  In my case, apparently, my daughters change the date to affect a particular game by advancing the date.  Little cheaters. (LOL)
    Hope this helps!

  • I was having problems with my iPhone 5s. Was able to get another 5s. In the process of setting it up, but it is taking forever ... and it seems to be frozen at one particular place.

I was having problems with my iPhone 5s (couldn't receive iMessages or emails). Cell company tried "fixing it" but to no avail. They ordered me a repacement 5s. Trying to set up, but it is taking forever. Seems to be stuck in one particular spot. It's at the stage with a black screen, white apple icon and a bar underneath. The bar is is just a fraction complete, and it has been stuck in this spot for almost an hour. Tried to restart it but it went to the same spot and froze again.

    BOB we need you urgently
Perhaps Bob will see this thread, he is the professor in these cases.
You do not use a WEP password but wpa/wpa2 on router and equipment.
All equipment connects to WiFi, but for your iPad.
Even with all other equipment WiFi off, you cannot connect your iPad.
Your iPad connects to other WiFi nets correctly.
All resets etc done on iPad and Router.
Still I am not sure it is your router for sure, frustrating...
I want to test 2 other things:
    1. in your iPad, set everything OFF in Settings/Cellular, turn off/then/on your WiFi, and see whether it will still not connect...
    2. If that does not do it: disconnect the router as well as the modem from the power, for 15 seconds, then reconnect the modem, let it fully start, then reconnect the routet let it fully start, turn of your WiFi in iPad, then on, and see whether it will connect.

  • Is anyone having issues with imessages disappearing or not being delivered?

Is anyone having issues with imessages disappearing or not being delivered?

I too am experiencing this on my iPhone 4 after upgrading to 4.3.3. I am fairly convinced that it is a software issue. The last update seems jumpy. There appear to be more pauses and stuttering with screen changes too.  Sometime the button operates perfectely (even with repeated light touches). Other times, it doesn't matter how hard I press; it takes several presses. I notice it more when i am using a battery case or connected to an AT&T MicroCell. I am having a hard time pinpointing problematic apps, although i suspect that mail with my work Exchange account may be a culprit. I suggest posting your issues on Apple's iPhone feedback page, www.apple.com/feedback/iPhone.html, to ensure that they are looking into this problem. If it is a hardware issue, I'll be pretty upset as I received my iPhone 4 on day 1 of availability and it is out of warranty. Hoping for a fix with an update. Please post on the feedback page.
