HBR : Specify the Currency Type in a CCONV command

Hi everybody,
I am working on an Essbase/Planning application with a currency database.
I am trying to set a currency conversion in a HBR.
The problem is that the CCONV command doest not work if I specify the Currency type. (In my example ACT2009)
DATACOPY "Entity Currency" TO "Conso Euro";
FIX("Conso Euro")
CCONV "ACT2009"->"EUR";
ENDFIX
If I don’t specify the Currency type, this is working using the Default currency type member. (Set in the Cube Properties, sheet Currency)
Does anybody knows, how I could solve this problem and specify in the HBR the Currency type I want to use??
Thanks.

Are you somehow using the Essbase currency conversion option?
I'm not aware of that working with Planning, unless it's somehow gone into 11.1.2 which I am pretty sure it has not.
Planning has it's own, not so fantastic currency conversion functionality. I personally roll my own with something that looks very similar to Essbase's currency partition.
I have never tried (you know, I don't know why) to use Essbase's native currency conversion approach -- perhaps I have been overlooking a fantastic approach?
If it doesn't work with Planning (I can think of a bunch of reasons why not, all focusing on the Database->Refresh menu), you cannot use CCONV. But please, prove me wrong, as the more I think about it, the more I kick myself for never trying it.

  • Specifying the container to connect to from command line utilities (sqlplus/expdp etc)

    Hi,
To kick off this forum I've been playing around with 12c multitenant/pluggable features and I've a general question about connections to the container database - it seems from everything i tried so far (and everything I've read) that there is no way to connect to a container database without going through a sqlnet connection. For example:
    export ORACLE_HOME, ORACLE_SID etc
sqlplus username/password -- this can only connect to the container database? (once you are in you can alter session to switch to the plugable database but can;t do it directly in the connection)
to connect to a plugged in database you always have to go through sqlnet
    sqlpus username/password@pluggable
there is no option to say something like:
    export ORACLE_SID=container
    export ORACLE_CONTAINER=pluggable
and then do sqlplus username/password ?
or some extra command line switch like
    export ORACLE_SID=container
    sqlplus -container=pluggable username/password
Is that understanding correct or have i missed something in the documentation?

    http://dbaharrison.blogspot.com

    Hello Richard,
In Oracle Multitenant the only way to connect to a PDB is by specifying a service.
However, there is a shortcut that you can use - TWO_TASK, which you will find documented elsewhere.
This allows you to specify the default service to be used - think of it as being appended silently to your username/password specification. I hope this helps.

  • Currency type is showing up in the report

    Hi Gurus,
In one of report results, the currency type is missing and it showing the results as
    -5,000.00 *
    107,000.00 ERROR
Can some body helps me in correcting the same
    Thanks in advance.
    Murali

    Hi Murali
its clearly due to multiple currency types. try to translate different currencies to one strandard currency, u want to show in the report.
suppose u have a amount KF in which contains data in 3 diiferent currencies(USD,CHF,GBP). now u have to translate these currencies to 1 standard currency type to display the result of this KF correctly.
here you can go to RSCUR  tcode and create the translation type to translate the CHF and GBP currency types to USD and use this in the report to show the KF in USD type.

  • Currency type  in BW

    Hi
What is 0CURTYPE Currency type  in BW
How that info can be interpreted in BW

    Hi,
Mapping the Currency Type and Currency Key
In contrast to R/3, the values of the individual posting periods and currency types (transaction currency, object currency, and controlling area currency) are extracted to SAP BW in individual data records rather than as a single block. The currency type (0CURTYPE) then indicates the fields of the R/3 totals records from which the values were read.
    Currency Type
    Description
    Fields in R/3 Totals Record
    00
    Transaction currency
    WTG*
    10
Currency of company code (object currency)
    WOG*
    20
    Controlling area currency
    WKG*
    70
    Object currency
    WOG*
Extraction therefore results in a maximum multiplication of the selected R/3 totals records by a factor of 48 = 3 * 16 = number of currency types * number of periods (12 + 4 special periods). Zero values (both the cost amount and the quantity are zero) are not transferred.
The quantities are transferred with each currency type. When defining queries, you must therefore also specify a restriction for quantity columns on a currency type. The simplest is to add the currency type as a filter parameter for the entire query.
Restricting the currency type to the values required in BW significantly improves performance during extraction.
Costs in object currency are transferred with currency type 10 as a default, regardless of whether selection in the InfoPackage is on currency type 70 or 10. If necessary, this default setting can be changed from 10 to 70 in the control table BWOM_SETTINGS (parameter OBJCURTYPE).
The currency key 0CURRENCY is determined based on the currency type:
    Currency Type
    Determination of Currency Key
    00
Taken directly from the data record read (COSP-TWAER, COSS-TWAER etc.)
    10
Determined from the object number of the record from the master data.
    20
The controlling area is determined from the object number of the record read. The currency of the controlling area is then determined.
    70

  • Can I modify the data type of a dynamic parameter?

I am using CR2008 against an Oracle 11 db and have a report with dynamic parameters.
One of the report sources is a custom view that selects all of the possible 'pay ending dates' where one of the fields from this view is used as the source for the dynamic parameter.
The view performs a TRUNC on the date field in an effort to eliminate the TIME component.
The problem is that the parameter definintion defaults to DATE/TIME (vs. just DATE). I'm wondering if there is any way to modify the data type of the parameter to be DATE only.
I've searched several forumns but have not found anything.
One solution I can think of is to have the custom view format the date field as a VARCHAR (sans the time component) which I assume would force the dynamic parameter data type to string, and then have the report perform a todate function on the value when applying the criteria.
Anyone else have an idea? Just seems like CR should allow the developer to specify the data type- especially b/w Date and Date/Time, rather than make an assumption.
    Thank you in advance-
    emaher

    emaher,
    Here's what you can do:
Leave the existing date column as it is in the view...
Just add another column to the view that casts the the date as a VarChar data type and formats the date as you would like it to be.
So now you'll have 2 date columns in the view... 1 that's still a date and another that a character string.
Now for your parameter, use the date version as the parameter value and the text version as the parameter description.
Be sure to set the "Prompt with description only" is set to true.
This way the user sees the LoV in the desired format but there's not need to wrangle it back into a date for data selection.

    Hi Ravi,
From the discription of the error what you have given what i umderstood is that in FI documents are posted with Currency INR, while the Cur. type 31 is transferring Cur. Key CAD to FI.
Since there is a diff in the Cur the error is coming.

  • Change Currency Type in Controlling area

    Dear Gurus,
We have the following settings in the customizing:

We would like to change the Currency Type in OKKP of "20 Controlling area currency" for "40 Hard Currency"  without modifying the currency key.

  • Material ledger currency types-manually

    Hi,
I have a question about material ledger  currency types.
Does it cause any problem if i have set the currency types manually as different then additional local currencies for company code in FI? I have to set the  currencies manually. Does it have some disadvanteges? Because when i try to do this in configuration system gives a warning:
"Do not make any changes (SAP entry)
    Message no. SV117
    Diagnosis
You have changed an entry which, according to the name space definition is managed by SAP.
    System Response
Your changes may be overwritten at each subsequent upgrade or release change.
    Procedure
Avoid changing this data. If the change is inavoidable, document it carefully, so that it can be repeated, if necessary, after an upgrade or release change. The best way to do this is to put the data in a change request, which you can export before an upgrade or release change, and import again afterwards."
    I need your helps.
    Thanks a lot.

With this answer I could solve this error:
when a purchase order is referenced to a
Material/Plant and this Plant is not yet productive in ML! You can
    check this in transaction CKM9.
Also this can be seen in transaction OMX1
(IMG: Controlling -> General Controlling ->
Multiple valuation approaches/Transfer prices -> Basic settings
-> Check Material ledger settings -> Activate Valuation Areas for
Material ledger) for valuation area 1111 and company code 1111 the
    material ledger is active.
However, in transaction CKMLOH (This transaction is used to view
PO history of particular use where material ledger active as you can
    switch between the currencies.):
If you know the PO click on the overview button (F2) and then Click
on the display button, you will see the error C+020. If this is so,thenplease either deactivate ML again or set it productive, but the current
state of the config will block these kind of postings since they would
    result in corrupt data.
For more information about ML active please review the note 596558.
Also take a look to the notes 108374 and 425487 for your information.
Kindly note that ALL historical data in PRODUCTION system will be lost
with deactivation and activation of Material Ledger again.
It cannot be recovered after activating Material Ledger again!
    Hope this would be enough!
    Luck!

  • Specify aggregation generated type?

    Hello forum -
Due to a lack of documentation on UML to code mapping (see this bug http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=79555), I am having to learn by trial and error.
I would like to model an aggregation that is translated into a HashMap. Now, I see that I can change the UML generation options and specify that collections are mapped to java.util.ArrayList or java.util.HashMap types, but I would like to specify the resulting type on a case-by-case basis and not on the entire project.
Is there a way to do this that I am not seeing?

I hope I am understanding your question...
If you are working with 5.5 or prior, the feature is very limitied. There is a 5.5 patch in the work for UML (should be on Update Center soon) that will have a more robust feature that is implemented in NB6.
If you are using latest NB6.0, there is a new property that has been added for multiplicities. Let's look at an attribute on a class element. If the attribute has multiplicity:
    public String foo[*, *]
and in this case more than one range (dimension), the default is to generate "As Array". To customize this, select the attribute, click on the Multiplicity property. In the custom editor, you will see that the ranges table has a Collection Type column. You can select a "well-known" Collection type or you can manually type your custom Collection Type, but be sure to fully qualify it so that code gen will add the proper import statements. You can use a different Collection type for every attribute as well as for each individual range of the attribute.
This works for parameters as well. Return Types may not have this feature implemented yet, but it will be there soon.
I suspect what you are asking may not be exactly what I described, but thought it might be related and at the very least, helpful in other areas for you.

  • Two COA currency type 20 (SEK) and 30 (CHF)in same client

    Hi
Anyone who can help me out wit this.
Today we have one controlling area COA with currency type 20 and Currency SEK, SEK is also currency on the Client
Now I want to create a new controlling area with CHF as currency. (Implementing new companies)
If I create the controlling area with currency type 20,the controlling area currency need to be the same as client currency (SEK)
So I was thinking of if I could use currency type 30 instead. And then create the COA in CHF
We want to have this two controlling area in the same COPA.
    Now to my question:
Will it be a problem in the future with one COA currenctype 20 and the other COA in 30
    In the same Client?
    In the same COPA?
If yes, any ideas how to solve the problem ( I donu2019t want to migrate the old COA to CHF)
Hope anyone can help me out with this 
    Best regards
    Afanda

    Hi,
First let me clarify two things to you...
If you select the currency type 20, u have the option to choose your controlling area currency... it need not be your client(sap client)currency...
If you select the currency type 30, system by default takes the client currency as group currency...
    Now coming to your question,
you will not have any issue if you have different currency types to different controlling areas....
As far as the operating concern currency is concerned, u can freely define the operating area currency... so no issues even if you assign two different controlling areas with different controlling area currencies....
Hope u r ideas will become clearer now.
