HDMI AV Adapter

I bought this adapter today for use with my iPhone 4 and iPad (original) and it doesn't mirror. I can only get audio, this is also the case when I use AirPlay with my Apple TV2 sound but no video. I did at least think I would get mirroring as advertised but no mirroring. Have I missed a setting? It does say on the description that the adapter is compatible with original iPad and iPhone 4 so what am doing wrong?

Can the Apple TV or Apple TV 2 be connected through some cable -- HDMI or otherwise -- to a DVD player?  I want to project my iPad 2 screen (mirrored) via an Apple TV onto my classroom large screen via a projector.  The DVD player is already connected to the projector (which is ceiling mounted).  I have one of those input selector boxes also (with like 4 or 5 hookups for things like DVD player, VCR, microphone, etc.).  Should I purchase an Apple TV -- or is Apple TV 2 better for this?  How will I be able to mirror my iPad 2 screen (fully) onto the classroom projector screen?  Thanks for your help.

Can I connect my Apple TV to the Blu-Ray using an HDMI/ USB adapter?
If you can find such a thing.  I really doubt that exists since USB is a data connector not a video connector.
would allow me to run the audio through my stereo.
That would depend on this adapter.

  • HDMI/DVI adapter problem?

I've had the 1st gen Apple TV since it came out and have loved it. It has worked fine on my 5 year old Sony HDTV. Since this tv does not have HDMI inputs (has an DVI input), i used an HDMI/DVI adapter and this worked fine up till now.
Yesterday i got the new apple TV and tried hooking it up to my tv. But the picture was displayed in 4:3, low resolution (looked to be 480i), and was a little "wavy".
Is the problem that my TV is not compatible with the new apple TV?
Or i was thinking that maybe i need to get a new HDMI/DVI adapter. the one i have is a few years old. are the newer adapters on the market have new/better technology?
thanks for anyones help. i really don't want to have to replace my tv or return my new apple tv

I've been pulling my hair out on this. I have a Sony KV-34XBR800 with a DVI port that supports HDCP. According to the manual the HD suport is 1080i and 720p ..... perhaps also 480p and 480i, but i'm not sure if the latter two are supported on the DVI port. I've tried two types of cables/adapters with the ATV2 and just get a black blank screen. No picture, no apple logo ... nothing.
The audio and Airplay work great using the optical connector. And when I connect the ATV2 to my daughters newer Bravia the video works great. But on the older Sony .... nothing.
I can't believe that this is a cable problem, but since that's the only component that I have the power to change out ... that's what i've been doing.
Any other suggestions? I'd prefer to not go out and have to buy a new TV or tuner to get a $99 box working !!!!

  • HDMI cable/adapter causing feedback interference in studio monitors

Hi I just bought an HDMI cable/adapter to connect my MacBook Pro to my LCD tv and as soon as I connect my studio monitors through my MBox interface, I got really loud CPU feedback through my monitors. Any suggestions? really trying to have a nice studio set up here lol

Thanks for trying to help me out, rsannie.  I had actually figured it out earlier, didn't get a chance to post.  Under Sound, click Recording tab, click the device, click Properties, click Advanced tab, uncheck Enable audio enhancements.  This was what was causing the interference/feedback type noise.
Just for the heck of it, to get better acquainted with the settings, I went to where you suggested but could not toggle that feature on/off.  This feature looks like it deals with the external mic (the ones by the webcam) and not from a source fed through the minijack anyway.

  • MacMini (2011) problem with Thunderbolt display if 2nd monitor is connected via HDMI/DVI adapter

    Hi,
    iam running a MacMini (2011) 2.3GHz i5 with Mac OS X 10.7.4 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 256 GB Samsung SSD.
If i connect a Thunderbolt display only - all is fine.
But if i connect a 2nd monitor ( Samsung S23A700) via HDMI / DVI adapter (original Apple) the major screen (Thunderbolt Display) sometimes
is going black and immidiately back to normal. It looks like that it happens very often if i scroll down with the Apple Magic Mouse.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks in advance
    Thomas

I have exactly the same problem. MacMini Server i7 (mid 2011) Macmini5.3.16Gb ram.
    Mini and Thunderbolt no blink-outs.
Mini and Thunderbolt and Dell 23" connected to HDMI-DVI connector, the Thunderbolt display blinks out when system is under stress as in the Develop module of Lightroom 4.
I thought it was a problem with my Thunderbolt display, and since its on a VESA mount, I didn't really want to haul in in to the Apple Store.  I decided to be sure it was the dosplay...
I borrowed a MacbookPro i7 and ran it from a clone of my Mini. No problems aster hours of use. (But with only ONE monitor.)  That suggested that there was no problem with the Thunderbolt Display.
I decided to run the Mini with only one display.  Again no problems. I plugged in the Second monitor to the HDMI port and within 2 minutes I had my first "Blink-Out".
I ran the rest of the day without the second monitor with no problems.
I conclude the mini will not work reliably with two monitors if one is a Thunderbolt.
I was using two Dell Monitors before I got the Thunderbolt Diskplay (for 3 months) without incident.

  • My w2207h HP Monitor is not working on my macbook pro with hdmi minidisplayport adapter. On Windows 7 via bootcamp it works. What can i do ?

As is said my HP w2207h monitor is not working with a minidisplayport to hdmi adapter and a hdmi cable which is working fine for my PS3. So the cable is not the problem. And on my TV i also have no problems at all activating a second monitor. Therefore the adapter isnt the problem either. When i plug it in the typical bluescreen appears. Then after a few seconds it appears again and there is no second monitor recognized. I also used the "recognize Monitor" button without success. Please help me, are there any special drivers or something like that ?
PS: bought a high end expensive adapter now because the old one was very cheap. But didnt help. Still stuck on the macbook not recognizing anything !

If you have an external drive you can hook up to the MacBook Pro I believe there *may* be a solution by getting an image to the MacBook Air.
On the MacBook Pro with the Windows install disk in the DVD drive fire up disk utility.  Select the DVD and then hit the "New Image" button.  Disk Utility should offer to create a disk image from the DVD.  I would put that disk image on a USB drive connected to the Pro.  You should be able to mount that image when you connect up to the Air.  Hopefully BootCamp will be able to access that all through the process.
If that doesn't work (the drivers don't recognize the disk image once Windows gets underway for its install), you might try copying the installation files from the DVD to FAT32 formatted USB stick or drive and then using that to install Windows.  I would expect Windows would be able to see the USB FAT32 drive and I don't believe any file on the drive is going to go beyond 4GB.
I haven't actually tried BootCamp on the Air, since I just use VMWare which has no issue installing from anything OSX can see.  But BootCamp is going to eventually hand off operations to Windows and that's going to complicate matters--Windows has to be able to see the drive.  While I believe there are drivers that let Windows connect to that drive, there's no way to authenticate (or even load the drivers I expect) before Windows itself is loaded--so it's a "chicken/egg" problem.

  • VGA to HDMI cable adapter

Can I use this type of cable to connect my PC ( p6112p with Intel GMA 3100 ) to the HDMI input of my TV?

    Hi,
From VGA to HDMI you need a converter to convert from analog signals to digital signals, not adapter. There are many around, the following product will do (with sound):

  • Can you record a video camera output over HDMI with the HDMI thunderbolt adapter on a Macbook Pro

I have an interesting question.  I do video editing, and I know there are some new devices on the market, such as the black magic mini recorder that lets you go from HDMI to Thunerbolt.  But can you not do the same with the minidisplay/thunderbolt to hdmi adapter, allowing you to record the uncompressed HDMI signal?

The answer to this question does not exist on the internet.

  • VGA and HDMI DisplayPort Adapter stoped work on Mountain Lion

    Hardware: MBP early 2011
    With Mountain Lion 10.8.0
    My HDMI adapter stoped working.
    With Mountain Lion 10.8.1
Both HDMI and VGA adapter stoped working

I found a solution to this problem!
Download the driver that's mentioned at the link below and follow username "asabaraba's" instructions. It involves ditching the RaLink wireless utility and using a compatible DLink one.

  • HDMI or HDMI-DVI adapter to HP Dreamcolor

i just got a Mac Mini 2012, it has HDMI out and an HDMI to DVI adapter. When i hook up its HDMI out directly to my HP Dreamcolor (HDMI input), it looks horrible. By using the HDMI to DVI adapter to the Dreamcolor DVI in looks much better. Anyone knows why (since HDMI and DVI can handle the native resolution of my Dreamcolor 1920 x 1200) ???

I do not know why, but have heard of such problems, also have read rumors tat 10.8.3 may fix that.

  • Will the included HDMI - DVI adapter support 1920X1080

I have a fairly new 23" Samsung HD Monitor - wanna make sure before I order my Mini that my monitor will work with it.

    From everymac.com:
...simultaneously supports 1920x1200 on an HDMI display or a DVI display using the included HDMI-to-DVI adapter and 2560x1600 on a Thunderbolt or Mini DisplayPort display or even a VGA display (with an optional Mini DisplayPort-to-VGA adapter, which is compatible with the Thunderbolt port).
