HEADER-AEDTM is '00000000' when HEADER-OPERA is 'I'

I am trying to find records in 168 that have been inserted within the time period specified on the PNPCE selection screen like this:
if header-endda eq '99991231' and header-aedtm between pn-begda and pn-endda.
However, when the HEADER-OPER is "I" the value of HEADER-AEDTM is always zeros. I'm confused. Please advise.

Let's say I change this record today (5/8/2008).
When I run my program I want to pull this record as having been changed (the plan changed). I can't go by BEGDA/ENDDA unless the user manually delimits the old one and creates a new one. Assuming they do not do that and they simply change the existing record (as above), I'll have to go to PCL4 and see that there's a "U" record in the HEADER where this row was changed. I understand that it could have been a mistake but I'm checking to see if they made a change in only the BPLAN or PLTYP and if those didn't change I'm skipping it. But I'll need to look at AEDTM for these to see if they were changed in the current month. This is working fine in my program.
For records that were inserted into 168 within the current month I've no idea what the BEGDA is going to be. It could be retroactive from the beginning of the month or even prior or it could be some date in the future like the beginning of the next month. So again I'd check PCL4 to see if there was an inserted record in 168 between within the last month by looking at AEDTM but this date is all zeros on HEADER and thus makes it impossible for me to check it for inclusion in my selection.
I'm only looking at PCL4 to see if there was a change or an insert - not to get the data. Really all I need from PCL4 is to see if the given pernr has a changed/inserted 168 record there and if it is I'll grab the details for my report from the actual infotypes themselves.
Is this making any sense? LOL. I'm new to ABAP/SAP so I appreciate your patience.

Generally, for all kinds of task list (Maintenance, Quality as well as Production), I tend to use BDC programs by which all the fields can be addressed. In standard, there are certain fields which might have got avoided for certain reasons.
So, I suggest you to look for some other options available.

HEADER-OPERA in PCL4

Hi,
While reading the PCL4 cluster, I came across different combinations of header-opera field. Sometimes two records in header, one with opera "D" and another with "I". Please let me know what all possible combinations can come and in which scenario.

I've never installed Photoshop Elements. Why do I see Opera in my Develop menu?

Connect the computer to another Mac and put it in FireWire Target Disk mode, or use the Disk Utility to clone the drive or image specific folders with the USB drive as the target. After you've copied off everything you want, you'll likely need to erase the drive and reinstall the applications.

How to start AND end a loop using a Boolean Button set to "Switch When Released" operation

I have a Boolean button set to "Switch When Released" operation. When I press this button (now it's in the On state) I want to run a loop that does something continupously (for now, let's say it displays a simulated sine wave) until I press the button again (now the button is in the Off state) in which case, I want to end the loop. I am wiring my button to the loop condition that's set to "Continue if true" and have a "Wait Until Next ms Multiple" of 200 ms (I tried up to 500 ms). When I run the VI and press the button the first time, I see the sine wave displayed. But when I press the button again, nothing happens. It looks like it does not respond to the user interface. What's happening. What am I doing wrong? I'm using an Event Handler design pattern. I've also tried the Producer/Consumer (Events) design pattern. But I don't imagine the particular design pattern should make a difference. I've attached my code. Thanx.

A simple solution would be to harness the timeout event, where you would put your data simulation. No need for parallel loops and local variables.
The event timeout is starts out as -1 (infinite) but pressing the start/stop button toggles between a 200ms and an infinite timout whenever it is pressed. Since the evet structure always runs, all other events (e.g. stop) are also serviced.

Nokia N8 Freezing When Using Opera

I have upgraded my Nokia N8-00 to Nokia Belle and whenever I try to open opera mobile or opera mini and after using for a little the phone freezes forcing me to hold the power key for 8 seconds and the device vibrates 3 times. I downloaded opera browsers from ovi store but I think that opera has not released opera for Nokia N8-00 running on Nokia Belle. Also I cannot run more than two applications when running opera as the device freezes
Any help will be appreciated.

I did what you have instructed me to do. I performed a factory reset by *#7370# then reinstalled Nokia Belle and downloaded Opera Mobile through ovi store and the problem was the same. The browser seemed to b freezing and after closing it it makes the phone become very slow. I have almost 86.1MB free memory on C: Phone Memory and almost 8.6GB free on E: Mass Memory. Opera Mini seems to work very fine.
Do this when you open Opera Mobile and at the settings tab click on settings then go to advanced and after that at User Agent select Desktop and I am sure that it will give you the same problem. I kept User Agent as Desktop so that I can be able to view pages like I do in my computer and that is the main reason why I downloaded Opera Mobile. When I was using Symbian Anna it worked very fine even though I set the User Agent as Desktop. I think that the problem is with Opera Mobile and not with my phone.
Do what I have told you to do and give me your feedback as soon as possible.

Does the carriage (the part that holds the print cartrdiges) bang into the sides of the printer? If so then cleaning the encoder strip as described in this post may help.

BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN - cost determination error when deleting operations

I have a problem with BAPI 'BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN'.
When I add and delete operations several times in an order using this BAPI, cost determination works incorrectly:
in transaction IW32 Plan costs sum on 'Costs' tab becomes wrong. But if I look at the detailed report (Rep. Plan/Act button on the same tab), the total plan costs sum is correct.
What I have tried so far:
1. adding method 'CALCULATE' for the header (within the same call and within a call in separate transaction)
2. changing the order in IW32 and saving it
3. 'Calculate costs' button in the same transaction
3. clearing buffers using FM 'CO_ZF_DATA_RESET_COMPLETE' before calling the BAPI,
but without luck.
Any help will be much appreciated!

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply.
As you said, the problem is in the standard BAPI BAPI_ALM_ORDER_MAINTAIN where the costs table is not getting refreshed, it is taking the buffer value.
Few OSS notes like 750606 were suggested by SAP, which also suggested the solution suggested by you, ( to use'Destination 'NONE' when callling the function module so that the BAPI will get called in the new session each time ),but it did not work. and SAP note also says that the complete solution is not yet implemented.
So, to resolve this ( to clear the buffer) I have used two programs, the internal one is called by the main program using 'submit' statmeent so that buffer value is cleared as it is a separate program. Finally it worked out

Facing very slowly response when opening operator

Hi all,
I have an issue when opening an operator module on the customer site.
I opened operator from my laptop that connect to the master / work rep on oracle11g (11.0.2.1)
and my laptop consume so much memory and CPU and then hang when click any scenario that reside on the work rep. (they have around 30,xxx scenarios on this work rep)
I don't know what's going on with this work rep. How can I track this kind of problem.
From the way that I look into this problem ,
I think the operator on my laptop try to gather some information (that's need to be shown on the operator) from the work rep into the memory (so that's why my taskmgr shows the javaw.exe consume so much CPU / Mem) and then hang.
Tried to use another machine even if it is a server machine to open operator but no luck the result was the same (consume a lot of mem / cpu and then hang).
PS. Designer / Topology are working fine with a normal response
PS2. ODI10g (10.1.3.3) + Oracle DB 11g (dedicated as repository data only)
and I decided to upgraded ODI10g to 11g and use the ODI Studio.
After a successfully upgraded
I opened up a ODI Studio and reconfig the profile to point to the upgraded repository.
Then the same problem occurs (just consume a large amount of mem / CPU and then hang)
If I just config the ODI profile to connect to only master rep. It could open only the topology (but not hang).

How can I make the comments field appear when the operator is debugging a test?

When a test is being written the comments field is being utilized for information relating to what the test is doing and how to solve certain problems that arise. It is basically a quick place for the technician to look at when they are attempting to debug a board. However it appears when you view the sequence files these are off to the right side of the screen but when running the debug engine and the technician sets a break point then these comments are no longer visible to the user off to the right of the screen. Is there any way to have it include the comment in the data displayed when tracing through a test step by step. The technician can double click on each step but it would be alot mor
e user friendly and timly if these could be displayed just to the right of the execution flow column.

I assume you are talking about the sequence editor. Unfortunately, there is currently no way to view the comments associated with a step inside of the execution display window (i.e during run-time). If you are using the operator interface, then you may extract the comment associated with a step and post a custom UI message that contains this information. The operator interface can then be modified to respond to this UIMessage and update its display accordingly.
To post a UIMessage with this data, you must first obtain a PropertyObject reference to the step you are trying to extract the comment from. Then use the "Comment" property of the PropertyObject class to obtain the comment value.
Unfortunately, the Sequence Editor discards all custo
m UIMessages, and you will have no way of viewing the comment using the above method.

What happen when connector operation fails

Hi Everyone,
I am looking for design options and wondering if anyone can suggest the solutions adopted in their previous projects.
How should we provide the IAM functionality to handle the following exceptions:-
1, When performing a provisioning operation on multiple target resources, the connector fails to connect with some (one or many) rescources. I think offline provisioning can provide the solution but then how to handle failure messages.
2. While provisioning, the connector fails to bind with any target resource.
3. Connection with target resource breaks before the connector tasks are complete.
Appreciate if anyone will put their thoughts on these.

Any failed provisioning task will return as a rejected task. Depending on how you manage the ownership of these tasks, the admin would be able to login to oim, see open provisioning tasks, and view the status. They can then click on the link to display the returned error message depending on the handling of errors.

DYNAMIC_SAMPLING Hint Ignored when CONCATENATION operation is used (10g)

Using 10g (10.2.0.3) I ran into an interesting scenario that really messed up query performance. I found that when the optimizer chose to use CONCATENATION it ignores the DYNAMIC_SAMPLING hint. Has anyone else suffered from this or know of a work-around for this.
We legitimately use the DYNAMIC_SAMPLING hint because have some correlated columns that are used in the WHERE clause and that is how we get the right cardinality.
The easiest way to test this is to use this pattern in your WHERE clause:
WHERE
text_column like 'A%'
or text_column like 'B%'
and any_corrleated_column = <some value>
That pattern makes the query eligible for the CONCATENATION operation. To force it for testing purposes you have to use the USE_CONCAT hint.
Our specific data had to do with healthcare. Specifically looking at a specific diagnosis code for a given patient type (inpatient, emergency, observation, etc.)
The diagnosis code was heavily correlated with the patient type so initial cardinality estimates were off. The DYNAMIC_SAMPLING hint fixed that until the optimizer chose to use CONCATENATION in which case it drastically underestimated the cardinality and used nested loops where it should not have and query performance was hurt.
Of course the work-around is to use the NO_MERGE hint, but I really don't like using hints that "force" specific access paths because at some point the data may change such that a merge would be appropriate.
Has anyone tried this on 11g and is the DYNAMIC_SAMPLING preserved?

We have a lot of analysts who execute their queries directly (OLAP) and that is a conscious choice and we accept the lack of control with performance and tuning individual queries with hints..
I mention that because in my mind if Oracle is the one that transforms the query from a single table query to use a CONCATENATION operation it should pass on the DYNAMIC_SAMPLING hint to each of the factored queries.
I agree, there is a lot that could be done with hints, but I really try to avoid hints that lock Oracle into a specific execution path. What I like about DYNAMIC_SAMPLING is I can tell Oracle to challenge its assumptions because I know there are heavily correlated columns in the query.
When Oracle then samples the data it still has all of the options available to it as far as valid access paths and join types. That is a hint that I will not necessarily have to revisit. Now I could use extended statistics with 11g and that should yield the same effect and maybe I'll just have to wait for us to upgrade to 11g. I really don't want to propagate a lot of hints that I have to think about on every version upgrade.
