Heads Up about returning Xoom

Purchased full price Xoom from a local Verizon Store. No contrat. When I inquired about the  return policy Sales Rep informed me there would be a 35.00 dollar restock fee. I decided to return the Xoom. Upon returning I was informed the restock fee is 70.00 dollars. Yes the fee was documented on the sales receipt. My fault and stupidity not reading the fine print and placing my faith in th sales rep misinformation. Am I sure that the sales rep did not say 70.00 dollars when purchasing the Xoom? YES. If I knew there was a70.00 dollar restock fee I would have NEVER purchased the equipment. A 35.00 dollar restock sounded reasonable to try a new device, not 70.dollars.
Lesson learned. Always read the fine print. Never believe the sales rep.... they just want to make a sale.

Yes, the $70 restocking fee has been on tablets ever since they were introduced on Verizon back in November.

  • Thinking about a xoom

Im thinking about a xoom but i confused on how the plan works. When i select a xoom on the website it says select a phone to upgrade and im noy upgrading im trying to get a xoom

andlamv, I understand your concern because getting new equipment is very exciting. Purchasing equipment can be frustrating if your order is not going through properly. Purchasing the Xoom is like purchasing a phone. You can either upgrade your current equipment (if your eligible) to the Xoom and receive the discounted two-year cost with a contract extension or add a new line to your account for the Xoom with a two-year cost and contract. The equipment has to be activated on a line to be used.
Additionally, if you want to order the Xoom without adding it to a mobile line on your account, the purchase would have to be full retail price, which is $669.99.
When you log into to your online account via My-Verizon, you will need to choose either upgrade an exciting line or add a new line.

i had 3 replacements and decided enough was enough, i managed to return my phone yesterday after the 14 day cooling off period due to the phone being faulty. the networks can cancel the contract up to 28 days from the start.im hoping mr jobs announces a revised handset so i can grab one that actually works:)

3 Replacements? Over in the proximity sensor thread (a problem I suffer with too btw) there are some people reporting 6, 7 and even 10 replacements. I don't have words to describe how terminally stupid someone has to be to keep getting replacements with identical faults and then repeat the process almost ad infinitum. And I don't get why Apple geniuses are willing to indulge this kind of obsessive Groundhog Day behavior. These people either need to wait for a potential firmware fix, or get their money back.

  • Jest a Heads-Up about cell phones & New Jersey

Come Saturday, March 1st, New Jersey drivers chatting on hand-held cell phones are subject to a traffic stop and a summons carrying a $100 to $250 fine with no points.
New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety Director Pam Fischer said police will have the authority to stop someone for using a cell phone without the past limitation of needing another traffic infraction to pull over a chatty motorist.
    Just giving everyone a Heads-up...

  • How to monitor ADFS 2012r2, Commercial services use HEAD and ADFS returns 500 instead of 200

I have set up an on-prim ADFS and an off-prim ADFS.
I want to use DNS Failover to monitor them and switch off-prim as required.
I've tried both Amazon Route 53 and DNS Made Easy monitoring, and both appear to use the HEAD command rather than the GET command. How can I monitor these services? ADFS 2012r2 does not seem to support the HEAD command.
    curl -iX GET h t t p s ://fs.redclay.com/adfs/ls/idpinitiatedsignon.htm returns 200 whereas
curl -iX HEAD ... or curl -I ... return 500 or just hangs forever.
Only by the process of elimination have I come to the conclusion that the HEAD command is being used. I don't know how to sniffer SSL, but both DNSMadeEasy and AmazonAWS say the services are down when I know they are up.

    Hi,
Would you please be more specific about your requirements?
If you want to figure out how to use curl –iX command, you can refer to the Official Scripting forum below:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/scriptcenter/en-US/home?forum=ITCG
If you have doubts about your third-party software, I suggest you contact third-party support to get accurate answers.
If you just want to monitor your ADFS servers, you can configure performance monitoring as this article guides:

  • Question about motorola xoom browser

Hello, i just bought a xoom so im new to this. Every time i try to load a web page that has a lot of content it stops working, so i exit out the of the tab then click on the browser again and there are lines going across the screen where the web page is supposed to be. i type in google and nothing happens so i exit the browser and after doing this several times the web browser finally starts working again. has anyone else had this problem? also while typing this its very laggy, is that normal? im running 3.2 and this is the only tab i have up. Thanks in advance!

This sounds very strange. Have you had any other issues with the Xoom?  When you bought the device did you do a master reset on it to bring it to its original state?  The reason why ask is because when people buy used devices sometimes they are not in the default state and problems like these arise. I would follow these steps and reset the device, if after you reset the device and it still is having browser issues I would return it to the seller.
    Master Reset
From the home screen tap Apps
    Tap Settings
    Tap Privacy
    Tap Factory Data Reset
Displays shows: This will erase all data from your tablets internal storage including; Google account, application data, downloaded applications, Music, photos, other user data
Tap Reset Tablet to confirm and proceed.

  • About " Return To the last visited slide" feature

    Hi everyone,
I have a question regarding to the function of Return to the last visited slide, and how I can customize the system variable, cpInfoLastVisitedSlid to limit some accessing in the project.
Since I don't know anyway to keep my word concise and clear, I will try to explain my question more...
    Version I use: Captivate 5
Currently, I am working on a project that includes the course content and a navigation guide together.
Each Course Content Slide has 3 buttons:
    Back to previous slide
    Go to the next slide
Navigation Guide (goes to the navigation guide menu page )
The Navigation Guide is a 30-slide little session telling our audience how to navigate and print with pdf version. Here is how we structure the Guide:
menu Page, in the menu page, there are 4 button
button to go back to the last visited slide
    button to section A
    button to section B
    button to section C
    Section A in the guide
    Section B in the guide
    Section C in the guide
On each Section, there are buttons that can go to their sub sections and return to the menu...
the user accesses from any course content slide to the navigation guide. The frist slide they will see after entering navigation guide is the menu page with 4 buttons. If the user click " go back to the last visited slide" button, the button will takes to where the user was in the course content slide.
However, if the user click the other buttons to view the content in the guide. when they return to the menu, the last visited slide become the last page they view in the guide.... hence they can not exit the guide and return to the course unless we assign a button to go to a particular slide in the course content...
    Here comes the question:
Is there any possible way to condition  the system variable, cpInfoLastVisitedSlid, not to remember slide it visited in the navigation guide, and only remember the slides from the course session?
Thank you for your patience to finish reading my long question...
and thanks to Lilybiri and RodWard answered my question about How to create user variables to track question slides?
for the unknown reason that I can't login to my previous account anymore.... but I really want to say you guys give me a big help.

    Yes.
Our user had entered the group of slides explaining navigatio.
but, I don't know how to set the user variable for group of slide.... and if I should I combine the user variable with the cpInfoLastVisitedSlide... (Since it is all slide number...)
What I have tried is that created a conditional advanced action...
    if
rdinfoCurrentSlide > the second slide of the navigation guide
rdinfoCurrentSlide < the last slide of the navigaiton guide
    action
expression cpInfoLastVisitedSlide system = cpInfoLastVisitedSlide system - rdinfoCurrentSlide
    else
    return to last visited slide
It doesnt work the way i want at all...
My probolem is to structure the logic relationship between these variable, and also how to create a user variable for a group of slide......
    thank you .

A majority of computers sold today have a special part of the hard drive set aside for recovery, to keep costs somewhat down. However creation of these discs is like an insurance policy.
    However according to here: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Help-Topics/Returning-Online-Purchases/pcmcat260800050014.c?id=pcmcat260...
Geek Squad services which have already been completed are non refundable / returnable.

  • About return type and parameter type in IDL

I don't know how to define return type and parameter type in
operations in a module which are not listed in predefined in
IDL. can I define these types as java class?
can someone help me where a tutorial about this in detail can
    be found?
    thanks a lot

My understanding is that if something is not in the IDL definition, then as far as the CORBA system is concerned it doesn't exist.
Therefore any methods you create in a class that implements an IDL defined interface, that are outside that interface, are completely free and outside the CORBA system.
The parameters and return types of these 'local native' methods should be java classes. All methods and variables outside the IDL spec will only be visible to the local JVM.
    ciao
    Jim
PS - there is a zip file containing a very long and fairly messy demo of this behaviour at http://clio.mit.csu.edu.au/subjects/itc327/Asg2Demo.zip
it has an html file which describes using additional non-IDL 'local native' methods for implementing a save/load function

    Hi,
I am trying to access an XML WebService. This service requires the content type of the request to be set to "text/xml". As you can see in the source code, I am setting the req.ContentType property to "text/xml".
However, this content type seems not to be added to the HTTP headers. The server returns a 400 Bad Request error as can be seen in the log.

  • Question about returning an Apple product to the store...

    Hi everyone,
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but here it goes:
Last Friday, I bought an TV in a Premium/Authorized reseller store. However, I didn't notice that I'd need a television with an HDMI, DVI, or component video input port. Unfortunately, mine only supports S-Video or composite video input port, so I'm unable to play it with colors!
Therefore, I'd like to return this opened TV. So, do you guys know what are their policies? Will they accept the return? I'm asking you this, because only tomorrow I'll have a chance to call them or visit them.
Hope you can help me here!

    Hi F Shippey,
    F Shippey wrote:
You might want to check the Apple TV forum. I seem to remember someone reporting having luck using the Green component output connected to the composite input... but check the forum for advice.
Could you give me a link, because I've been searching for that and didn't find anything! I might want to try it, but the problem is that I don't have any component video cables, and if it doesn't work I wouldn't want to lose money...
    Thanks pal!

  • Question about returning iPod USB Adapter...

... Recently my adapter stopped working and Apple sent me a new one. Now the one I just recieved did not come with a return shipment label as far as I can tell (it has a P/N numbers and a package ID), so what am I supposed to do in this situation? Do I create my own return label?

Well there is a receipt pull out and it does say that I should return the item back within 10 days. The label, as far as I know, isn't one of those labels that apple normally send with returnable items that you just rip off and has the return label under it. It's just two stickers with my address on it. Now has anyone ever been charged for not returning the item?

  • Question about returning online items...

Just to confirm, the 15-day timeframe begins when the item is delivered to the residence, correct? Not when the order is initially placed?

    Hi jbtb07,
Thank you for taking the time to connect with us on the forum.
It looks like CrystalWoW was able to answer your questions; however, let me see if there is anything else I can help add.  As CrystalWow mentioned, a "special order" product will be ordered directly from the manufacturer.  A majority of our special order products will tend to be appliances and should be marked accordingly on BestBuy.com.  If you ordered an item from one of our online Marketplace retailers, then you would want to contact them directly regarding a return or exchange.
I hope you have a wonderful day, and let us know if you have any other questions!

  • Question about returning old hubs etc. to BT

Sorry if this isn't quite the right place to post this message, but I'm not sure where else to do so.
I have a number of old BT hubs and hub phones that I want to dispose of. I'm aware that I can request kit return bags from BT but given the quite significant number of items and the effort involved in packaging them up and taking them to a post office I'd like to know whether BT would be seriously disadvantaged were I instead to take the items to my local recycling facility and put them in with other electronic items. Formally the kit belongs to BT, and although I doubt that they'd pursue me for it I wonder whether they log its return as a means of quantifying their environmental credentials.
Incidentally the reason that I have quite a lot of items is that as friends have been sent upgraded hubs etc. they have offered me their old ones as spares, and I have always accepted. It is now time for a clear-out - before I find myself appearing on 'The Hoarder Next Door'!
    TIA.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Rest assured that I will only dispose of my surplus hubs etc. in the electrical receptacle of my local council's recycling facility. I'm well aware that such items contain some very valuable non-renewable constituents, and while the quantities in any one instance are small, this adds up to rather a lot of valuable material across the deployed base, and I'd very much like it to be recovered. Indeed it was what might be considered broadly as environmental concerns that prompted my original post: had I thought that BT would do more to recycle/recover material from surplus equipment than the council would I'd have rung up and asked for as many bags as it took, irrespective of any personal inconvenience.
Of course if BT could produce a long-life hub that could be enhanced in the future purely by software updates then this would be less of an issue. There might be some technical challenges with such an approach but I suspect anyway that it might be asking a bit much for the marketing people to adopt it.

This would be the same for any warranty on most any product.
You can get a replacement.  You cannot get a refund.
