Headset port problem...

I read somewhere that the original IP had a "recessed" audio port which took a different headset with a longer male connector. Is that really true and if so, does anyone have a link to where this headset jack can be purchased?
My problem is that I'm using a case to protect my IP and the hole to plug in the standard jack doesn't allow enough room to full seat a standard ipod headset. Consequently when I plug in a standard ipod jack, my ipod starts playing automatically. For some reason I don't have the same problem when I insert the standard IP 3G headset which I don't like to use except when making a call (trying to save the mike feature).
Also, I like to stream music from "Tuner, AOL Radio, etc. If I use a standard ipod headset the darn iTunes music starts up cutting out my streaming music. And I have the same problem with the iPod feature in my car which uses the basic headset out-->aux in. For this problem, I'm thinking of buying the cable at the link below. From the picture, it looks like the plastic part right after the male part is tapered down enough that it MIGHT fit firmly down into the headset jack (through the hole in my case which I drilled out a bit).
I realize this message is a bit or more than a bit unclear, but I'm hoping someone with the same problem will understand what I'm writing.

i recently got the Griffin SmartTalk, not because of any problems with the connector (have the 3G, which doesn't have a recessed connector), but because i wanted to use good in-ear headphones but still keep the mic/remote alive. This adapter has a jack which might fit every iPhone situation and has a clip with mic, where you just connect your standard headphones.

Usb/headset port on n73 doesnt connect properly

this is my second n73 as the 1st had software problems, this new one has the pop port problems like when i connect to pc if moved slightly it disconnects then ask if connecting to pc suite etc, i thought it was just the usb lead but then plugged in the headset and music only comes out one side and i have to wiggle about to get the full sound going through. is it the software or the actual connection part on the phone itself?

Nokia X7 Headset port issue

friends .. Pls help me out .. I got my X7 some 6 months ago .. Initially i was fine with the music and i was really enjoyin with the stock headset .. After 2 months of buying it the headset port doesnt work .. I went through many forums but none did help me .. When i connect my handsfree there is no response from the phone .. Knowing thats an hardware issue i took my phone to the nearest nokia care point .. They were like , even after changing the port the problem still persisted .. They were sorry they cudnt do anything about it and suggested to go with bluetooth headsets .. Friends please .. What should I do now ?

Have you tried install (or reinstall) the latest software version using Nokia Suite. Doing this usually rectifies some minor mistakes.

Port Problem, cant Recieve Mail

Just recently my mail has stopted working due to a port problem. By my inbox i get a small icon which is a triangle with an explanation mark in. When i click it the first message i get is:
*Connection Failed*
+There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Check the settings for account "POP Account" or try again.+
+The server error encountered was: The connection to host mail.kahane.co.uk on port 110 failed.+
Then it willl give me a chice to go offline or online, ill click online and the icon is still there so i click the icon again and the second message i get is:

I haven't changed any settings in the preferances or done anything which may have caused this. Incase you need to know i am on a POP account.

Portege R835 USB 3.0 port problem (Shutdown everytime)

Hello,
The problem is that the USB 3.0 port continues to turn off shortly after connecting any device (mouse, usb memory, printer...).
The only way to restore it's functionality is to reboot. I have continued to have this problem since I bought the computer.
There is no issue with the 2 USB 2.0 ports.
I have bios 3.0, win 7 64bit home premium.
Few other people have address the same problem here before but I didn't see any solution.
Please Help!

X6 8gb Usb Port Problem

My x6 usb port not working and i took it to nokia care to fix that problem and they told me that we don't have that type of IC to fix your problem and we can't fix your usb port problem .....if u can't fix the problem they why the hell your running service centre i am totally fed up with this nokia ....guys pls tell what should i do now

Plantronics CS60 and headset port

Have you tried adjusting the little wheel on the side of the CS/60 base/charger? We don't use any CS/60's but we do use lots of CS/50's and the wheel setting of 4 works well with 7961's.

Z68A-GD80 G3 rear audio port problem

Just built his system a couple of weeks ago. My first build. When I first started the system, I was using the integrated graphics. I had my speakers plugged into the green audio jack on the MB, and it worked fine. Used it like this for a couple of days while transferring programs, photos, etc. I was never able to get the HDMI port working to set up both monitors, so I removed the graphic card from my old computer (GE Force 210), installed it in the new computer and installed the NVIDIA drivers for it. This got both monitors working, but then I found the sound was not working. I tried connecting the speakers to the surround sound ports and they worked, but at a very low volume. I finally connected the speakers to the front speaker port. This works but the sound quality is not very good. I get random? static noises.
I had it this way for a few days while I tried to troubleshoot the problem. It seemed like the problem started after installing the graphic card and drivers, so I removed them and tried it again. Still the rear speaker port did not work. Also, at this time I tried to get the dual monitor setup working again. I had found that the IGD multi-monitor setting was disabled, and assumed that was why I could not get both monitors working the first time around. After enabling this setting, still could not get both monitors working. No HDMI. I am really not too concerned about this, as I plan to get a better graphic card, but thought that it might be related to the audio port problem.
I believe there is a newer version of BIOS, but I am not sure if that is something that I want to tackle. Does anyone have any ideas of what could cause this? Thanks.

Not real sure of this since I haven't been personally involved in it, but the HDMI problem could be related to a cable issue? HDMI 1.4 versus older types? Monitor v1.4 compliant, etc.?
A battery removed CMOS clear & reset may be of help. It's worth a try. If the sound was clear & worked normal before, I doubt a UEFI/BIOS update would be of benefit. Something hardware related, drivers, or the way the OS is responding are my guesses for the sound problem & static.
A corruption in Windows is always a possibility. Doing a fresh install of the OS may help. Maybe before that extreme, using a utility like driver sweeper to get a fresh start with the audio drivers. Presume the speaker system is a self powered unit?

N8 Headset or 3.5mm port problem???

I got some problem with my N8, when I am trying to plug in 3.5mm jack to my phone there is no option to choose hedset, headphones, TV-OUT or music stand. and music is coming from loudspeaker. So i am thinking that phone do not recognize any hedset pluged in. Everything works fine when i plug in regular earphones without any microphone.
so anyone got familier problem or jus only me? Thank you for your advise ))

Goto Menu Settings Phone Accessories and set Headphones as default.
It has alteady been speculated on other threads that you should push in the jack as fast and hard as possible.

Nokia 5530XM 3.5mm headphone port problem

Hi, I recently bought this phone on contract with virgin a few weeks ago, I seem to be having a problem with the headphone port as everytime i listen to a track on any headphones, I can only hear on one headphone and have to keep moving the jack so that I can hear on both headphones. The microphone on the headset also does not seem to be working on it, I know it isnt a problem with the headset as I tried it with another 5530 and it worked fine.
Is there any chance I could get this repaired at a nokia store in London ?

Should do but you won't know till you try. If it is due to a manufacturing defect then it should be fixed under warranty. If itis due to misuse then you may be asked to pay.

Bluetooth Windows 7 USB port problem

Hi,
I am using a class 1 bluetooth dongle (unkown manufacturer) with the toshiba bluetooth stack V 8.00.03 Premium, and a bluetooth headset. The specs for the dongle are : Bluetooth V1.2, USB compatible with V1.2/2.0
I have a strange problem when changing the USB the dongle is plugged into. If I change the dongle to another USB port, searching for devices fails. I have tried uninstalling the stack, and of course deleting the device from the bluetooth manager window.
Also, strangely , when I plug the dongle into a USB extension on the same port, it doesnt work either. When I put the dongle back into the same USB port it works fine as usual.
I want to change the USB port so that I can get better reception , as its plugged in at the back at the moment. Also, I want to use the usb extension for the same reason, to bring it out above the desk. Weirdly though,as I say, it doesnt work with the extension (just a regular cable with USB male on one end and female on the other to plug the dongle into.
Is this something to do with voltage drop down a cable? And regarding the changing of the usb ports is this something to do with the bluetooth ports being installed on that USB port only? I dont know exactly how bluetooth ports work so, how they get installed etc.

Do you use Toshiba notebook?
I ask this because, as far as I know, Toshiba supports BT stack on Toshiba notebooks but if you get it as part of package of some other manufacturer they are responsible for support and functionality.
Until now Ive always used Toshiba notebooks and there is no problem with BT device so I cannot say much about your problem but what you can try is to remove preinstalled software, clean u the registry and after notebook/PC restart install Toshiba BT stack but put BT dongle in the port that you want to use now.

Try different headset to see if it is the port or the earbuds.
Try earbuds on different machine.
See if there is debris in the port. Try inserting and removing
the buds a few times to see if that clears the problem.

The problem is that I can't access to the login page : http://127.0.0.1:8080/apex . I think that the problem come from a port restriction (but I'm not sure!) : the 8080 port is certainely blocked, but I don't know how open it ...
With Windows XP Pro, I had no problem ... ! Nevertheless I used the same anti-virus program with the same rules ... !
