You cant find the signal? Can you show the thread at the very top?
Sometimes u do need to set -XX:MaxPermSize=256M, depending on how much memory you have allocated, requirements etc.
pstack only can shows the native stack. It will be good to know what was running when it failed.

Once there is some kind of out-of-memory error, it is hard to predict how JVM would behave. I would suggest that you take a look how your start your jdeveloper so that you can enlarge its memory setting, in particular for that "from space". Sorry, I do not remember how to enlarge that "from space" off the top of my head, but you may try following some common practice of enlarging memory settings of jdeveloper or jvm in general.

SPUtility.GetPrincipalsInGroup method throws Thread was being aborted error when SPGroup Name is passed

I am getting 'Thread was being aborted - Unable to evaluate expression because

when I use 'SPUtility.GetPrincipalsInGroup' method.

We have both SharePoint groups (SPGroup) & Active Directory groups in our site.
I am checking if logged in user has access to the group name that I am passing here as 'groupName'.
Code works without any error when I pass 'domain name' as 'groupName' e.g. (Domain\\usergroup) but the same throws error when I pass SharePoint groups (SPGroup) name.
Both type of these groups have at least 'Read' permission on site.
I have this code inside 'try-catch' block and hence I am able to catch that thread aborted error.
What could be the reason for this error? I don't get any call stack and all other properties of exception object are either null or with garbage values.
I am having SP2010 foundation, VS2012 and .Net4.5 installed on my machine.

I think the RunWithElevatedPrivilages is not working correctly. I believe that the new site and web objects need to be opened within elevatedprivilages to work. it looks like the way your code is working the SPsite and SPweb objects are getting opened before
the RunWithElevatedPrivilages give this a try and see if your result changes.

Agilent 53230A: +320, 0xbfff0015, 0xbfff0030 user abort errors?

While testing out my code, everytime I set sample count higher than 1 it keeps returning 0xbfff0030 user abort errors, and the measured data doesn't get transferred. Occasionally (haven't been able to duplicate the errors exactly) it also returns "Instrument reports:+320,"Input signal frequency shift caused internal counter overflow" and "hex 0xbfff0015" errors. Is there something wrong with my code? Should I use a while loop to get multiple/continuous data instead of using a higher sample count?
The instrument also shows "error caused by remote command".

I'm trying to compare 2 channels so it's supposed to export out the frequency ratio between the 2 channel inputs.
It's actually the Read Measurement VI that's throwing up the errors:

The most readings it's been able to export out is 2 readings, and still gives an error. Anything more and it just exports out a blank report (other than the header). I took all the VI from the Agilent driver pages, and all values have been left at the defaults. I've tried using the Fetch Measurement VI before the Read Measurement but it just makes the program run indefinitely (only way to stop it was to save the VI). Did I screw up the order of the subVIs in my program? Right now it's [Initialize -> Configure Measurement Freq Ratio -> Configure Freq Gate -> Configure Gate Start -> Configure Gate Stop ->Configure Sample Count -> Read Measurement -> Close -> Error Query]. I pretty much used the examples VIs in the drivers I downloaded as a base so if I screwed up anything please let me know.
Also, right now it looks like the VI is exporting values at one second intervals. Is it possible to make it such that it can read values at intervals other than one second (shorter or longer), preferably user-defined?

UCCX 7 Heap Memory Usage Exceeded Error

UCCX 7.0.(1) SR5
Getting the following error when updating or adding new script applications:
"It is not recommended to update the application as Engine heap memory usage exceeded configured threshold. Click OK to continue and Cancel to exit."
Apparently this is an alert that was built into SR4 and is configurable under the System Parameters.
Does anyone have information on what processes use the heap memory in UCCX or how to monitor the usage?

As Tom can attest to by now, this is something of an iceberg with big sharp edges below the surface.
The Java heap is fixed at 256MB on CCX. The Java heap is used by Tomcat as execution memory. In addition to this, applications, scripts, and other repository data is loaded into the heap at runtime. Depending on your environment, you may be approaching the limits of the heap, which cannot be changed. If the heap size is reached, it will be dumped and impact calls.
What have you been doing as of late on your CCX server? How many applications and scripts do you have? Are any of these using XML files extensively?
Note there is also a possible bug where the MIVR engine does not properly release all objects loaded into the heap at the end of a script execution leading to a memory leak of sorts. The discussion [debate] over this behavior is continuing. As of this week, it may be represented under

Itunes update aborts - error "signature could not be verified"

I have attempted several times to download and install the latest iTunes update (11.2). The install keeps aborting with the error message "itunes signature could not be verified." I tried downloading only, and still get a similar error message. Please don't ask me for the error message number - I didn't record it.
I am running iTunes on Windows 8. I've been able to install previous updates since migrating to a Windows 8 machine. Is this a known issue? If so, how do I solve it?

I notice this has happened with previous versions of iTunes as well as previous versions of Windows. I don't see any posts as yet about 11.2. Am attempting to download via the Apple website as suggested in replies to previous instances of this error. I will let you all know the result. I'd really like to know WHY this happens! Is it related to iTunes or Windows? If someone could explain in reasonable layperson's terms, that would be helpful. This is obviously a known issue for quite some time (posts going back to 2010-2011); why hasn't it been addressed? We should be able to download iTunes updates from within iTunes!

Operation Aborted Error in IE

Hello Everyone,
I'm getting the following error when I add a .swf file to my web site. The error only happens in IE.

When I open the page in IE I get a javascript error that stops the page from loading. If you run down the source of this error, you should be able to fix the problem:

It appears as though you are running into problems with the SWFObject embed script, because the script and the Div it writes into is inside of the same div. Try moving the script block outside of the 2 div closures that immediately follow it.

A tool used by TP aborted -- Error after DB upgraded to rel 9.2.0.8.0

We have upgraded to the latest Release of 9.2.0.8.0 on the ORACLE Database and also the latest Patches on AIX OS. This patche application has had an effect on the SAP application's Transport Management.
We are getting the error " A tool used by TP aborted" with error code 12.
A search on OSS notes suggests to a kernel problem, and we have upgraded to the Latest Kernel available for SAP. We are running on SAP 4.7 and SAP_BASIS Release level 6.20.
Did any one face the problem inrecent times... Any inputs would be great.

sorry but Oracle Client 9.2.0.8 is not present in the software download center in the SAP Service Marketplace (neither in 32 bits or 64 bit platforms).
Pls look there and fine that the latest version is 9.2.0.7.

Java heap out of memory error with -Xms1g -Xmx4g 64 bit VM

We are getting Java Heap memory error for the application we are running on linux 64 bit machine (VM).
The OOM came when heap usage was 1.7gb though we have specified min as 1gb and max as 4gb. If I understand correctly then it should not have been thrown as we have specified max as 4gb. If address space was the problem then it should have thrown swap space error.
Also, there were no other processes running on this node.

When the JVM needs to grow the heap it asks the OS for a bigger memory block than the one it has.
The OS may refuse this and the JVM will throw an OOME.

Virtual Machine has aborted error during Java EE SDK install

Hi all,
I'm trying to install java_ee_sdk-6u3-jdk7-windows-x64.exe on our new Windows Server 2012 machine but the installer starts and I then get a Setup box appear that says Error: The Java(TM) Virtual Machine has aborted. I've looked in the Event Viewer and there are no messages and I've tried to get the installer to create a log file (by passing the parameter -l <loglocation>) but it doesn't seem to get that far as no log is created.
The very first time I tried to run the JavaEE install on this machine, it installed everything ok but didn't create the windows service as .NET Framework 3.5 was missing. So I uninstalled JavaEE and added in the .NET Framework 3.5 and then my problems began. I have already installed these versions of Java and JavaEE successfully on a previous Windows Server 2012 machine which had the .NET Framework 3.5 on it.
The JRE installed already on the computer is jre-6u45-windows-x64.exe and I am logged in as an administrator. I've tried uninstalling the JRE and reinstalling and also doing a registry clean using CCleaner incase there are any old references to the JRE/JavaEE but it didn't help.
If anyone can give me any clues as to why this error is appearing I'd be most grateful!

Have finally got this to work after a lot more headscratching. Turned out just passing the path to the JRE to the install wasn't good enough, I had to include the drive letter too even though it was on the same drive!

OAS Heap memory issue: An error "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead

We are running out of Heap memory and seeing lots of full GC and out of memory events
Verbose GC is on.
Users don't know what they are doing to cause this
We have 30-40 users per server and 1.5 GB heap memory allocated
There are no other applications on the machine. Only the PRD instance with 1.5 GB allocated to the JVM. We do not have any issue with memory on the server and we could increase the heap but we dont want to go over the 1.5 GB since that is what I understood to be the high end of what is recommended. we only have 30-40 users on each machine. There are 8 servers and a typical heavy usage day we may have 1 or two machines that have the out of memory or continuous full GC in the logs. When this occurs the phones light up with the people on that machine experiencing slowness.
below is an example of what we see in a file created in the OPMN log folder on the JAS server then this occurs. I think this is the log created when Verbose GC is turned on. I can send you the full log or anything else you need. Thanks

There's an Oracle support note with a very similar MO :

If I search for "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: GC overhead" on Oracle Support it returns at least 12 documents
Might be bug 6065704. Search Oracle support for this bug number.

ITunes / Quicktime Abort Error - **please help**

I just purchased an iPod and when I tried to upgrade to the new iTunes program I get the following error when it starts updating the components:
Could not open key: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion|Uninstall\QuickTime. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
Then it says iTunes requires QuickTime and rolls back the installation. I installed QuickTime and got the same message...

First, ensure that your iTunes library has not been deleted or modified. Go Start->Music->iTunes. Ensure that a file that has a music note and a CD in the background is there that is named iTunes Library. Restart your computer if you haven't since this warning has appeared.
As soon as you click on iTunes, hold down the shift key and a message should come up saying "Choose a Library". Click "Choose Library" and navigate to your iTunes folder if it hasn't already done so for you already. Double click the file that says "iTunes Library" and it should load your library.
