Heap size error when set to more than 1024 when system has 8GB of memory
This setting:
value="-Xms2048m -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m -Xrs -server -
Results in the service not starting and the message is logged:
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap
The server is Windows 2000 Adv, Pentium D 3GHz with 8GB of memory (OS sees 7,863,400 kb ram).
This setting works:
value="-Xms1024m -Xmx1024m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -Xrs -server -
Can anyone give me an idea as to why more memory can't be allocated?
Unless the OS is 64Bit, you need to set the max memory to NOT more than 1500m

How to fix "More than one receiving system has been specified for the BAPI"
Due to patching the HR system I am testing the functionalities in our test environment before patching the production system. When doing a hiring action (in our test environment) I get this error message at infotype 0000 when I try to save:
"More than one receiving system has been specified for the BAPI (AcctngServices, CheckAccountAssignment)"
It is message no. B1811
My first suggestion weas that it could be the presence of dual connections in SALE, but disabling one of them didn't help.
Since the Basis team is currently patching the HR system I wonder if that has any affect that might end out in the above error.
Anyone who can help me out here? Please?Usually, when you have HR and FI on separate boxes, certain FI information (e.g. cost center) do not physically locate on HR box. Instead of replicating these data into HR for integrity check, you have an option (for a few countries) of remotely connecting from HR box to FI to do these checking though BAPI. I think this is the scenario you have (i.e. when doing the hiring, a new ee will be assigned to a personnel area which in turn default a cost center which SAP would need to check for integrity).
Please go into distribution model, and check if for some reason, this is set up to go to to more than 1 destination for HR accounting integrity check.
Rgds.

can any one help me?
Regards,
Ramya.sHI
In 2007 i always got the same problem.
Solution:
1st create all tables
then
2nd create all fields
and do not use any querys to exists the table or field
>If Not UserFieldExists(tablename, fieldName) Then
use lretcode when you add the field / Table, even it is -2035 it is already exists, do not care.
'... your original code
If v_RetVal <> 0 Then
Select Case v_RetVal
Case -2035 'means already exist
Case Else
com.GetLastError(v_ErrCode, v_ErrMsg)
'... your original code
End Select
End If
Only this way was working for me....

How to increase the Heap space of Jdeveloper for about more than 512 MB?
When starting JDeveloper, the application within JDeveloper is throwing the error message:
"could not reserve enough space for object heap"
and a windows popup with the following error message:
"Unable to create an instance of the Java Virtual Machine Located at path: ..\..\jdk\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll "
To resolve these issues, i know that adding the following in ide.conf , jdev.conf will help.
AddVMOption -XX:MaxPermSize=512M
AddVMOption -Xmx512M
AddVMOption -Xms512M
I have got 10 GB of RAM in my desktop machine and virtual memory of 15 GB (page size). I am not able to increse the heap space of Jdeveloper for about more than 512MB. This is really frustrating..I had to restart my jdevloper after 3 or 4 deployments.....Has anyone tried success in increasing the heap space in jdeveloper for about 2 GB?
Regards
Prasath.CYes, i know that -XX:MaxPermSize has nothing to do with Heap Memory. I Just pasted all my configuration settings to know if some thing or the other has caused the issue.... After hearing few people who increased the heap space to more than 512m , i played with those settings again and figured out few things...Mine is Jdeveloper 11.1.1.4, 64 bit Windows 7 environment, 64 bit Java/ JDK.
First, i was deceived by one suggestion in forum that, keeping max and min heap memory to same size always will yield in good performance...From that time on wards, i was always increasing both and was never able to move more than 512m..But this time, i kept the min memory as constand and kept on changing the max memory ..
Jdev.conf
AddVMOption -XX:MaxPermSize=512M
AddVMOption -Xmx972M (I was never able to increase more than this size, though i have around 10GB RAM, if not Jdev doesnt startup)
AddVMOption -Xms512M
Ide.conf
AddVMOption -Xmx2048M (here i was able to increase)
AddVMOption -Xms512M
But even then, i was not seeing my changed settings at the time of deployment...
starting weblogic with Java version:
java version "1.6.0_21"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_21-b51)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 17.0-b17, mixed mode)
Starting WLS with line:
C:\Oracle\MIDDLE~1\JDK160~1\bin\java -client -Xms512m -Xmx512m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m -Dweblogic.Name=DefaultServer ..........
Then i changed again into
setDomainEnv.cmd of my default domain
set USER_MEM_ARGS=-Xms512m -Xmx2048m -XX:MaxPermSize=512m
Then i stared my deployment...this time i could see a real boost in deployment...and my page was launched in a fraction of minute..

I am getting the below error while deploying some soa applications in WLS 10.3 on solaris platform. As a workaround,
the server instance has to be restarted everytime i make the deployments when i face this OOM situations.
usually i face this issue after first deployment onwards.
So, everytime i make the next deployment the server instance has to be restarted before that.
The server is configured with 1Gb JVM and runs on JRockit jrrt-4.0.0-1.6.0.
MEM_ARGS="-Xms1g -Xmx1g -Xgcprio:throughput -Xverbose:gc -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutO

Can anybody please provide any pointers to track/solve this issue?

"The ACS Database needs to be compressed as a part of maintenance operation. You can run the acsview-db-compress command from acs-config mode to reduce the physical size of the view database when there is a difference between the physical size and actual size of the view database. ACS 5.5 stops only the log collector services during compress operation and will be up and running after the compress operation is completed. You need to enable the log recovery feature to recover the log messages that are received during the database compress operation.
In ACS 5.5, database compress operation is automated. You can check the Enable ACS View Database Compress check box to compress the ACS View database automatically every day at 5 A.M. The database compress operation is run everyday automatically at 5 A.M whenever there is a need."
I already tried to manually compress the DB via "acsview-db-compress" without any effect.Hello,
You're running into bug CSCum51180. The alarm should be a warning, not critical, and should be raised only when the physical size exceeds the actual size by more than a gigabyte (in your case, the difference is very small, 1.5 vs. 1.48).
The fix should be present on a future patch.

My hard drive has 70.93 GB available, yet when i have more than one internet tab open, i have to force quit google chrome because 'there is no more available application memory'. How can I solve this? I have a 2009 macbook pro running on 10.6.8. I have tried updating to mavericks through the mac app store but after it downloading for a day i got an error message saying there was a problem with the download. The same thing happens if i try to update itunes or the mac app store. After research, i have also tried repairing disk permissions, but every time they do get repaired the 'repair' button still appears, i'm not sure if it's because it was unable to repair the initial problems or if it just keeps detecting new ones.
2 GBs is a minimum in which you can do many things, but not concurrently. Be very careful to not install third-party add-ons, limit the number of applications you choose to enter in Login Items, run as few applications concurrently as you demand.
I would consider adding more RAM to your computer. Your model supports 8 GBs, so I would install that. -
recently i updated my software to 7.0.4 after that my mails automatically increased to more than 600 when actually i had not even 100. and i cant even see my mails there is no option to view them??
Illaas,
I tried the manual method. I was able to set the music/video to manual and then restarted the entire system. After restart, I re-attached the ipod touch to the computer. The sync automatically ran for everything that wasn't set to manual and it completed without a problem. I then reset the music/video to automatically sync and restarted the entire coputer/ipod set again. This time when I re-attached the ipod, EVERYTHING synced and there were no problems reported. I've never had to do this before, but I will keep it in mind if something like this happens again. Thank you for pointing me to the manual sync. -
Short dump when we write more than 4 routines or formulas 4 one source fld
Hi Experts ,
We have one source field in a DSO which supplies data to 9 other characteristics present in the cube via formulas. But the system throws a short dump when we write more than 4 routines or formulas.
Please let us know if there is any restriction in BI 7 as to let only 4 formulas to be written for one source field.
The below is the description of the short dump

Thanks,
BoopalanLooks like ur getting heap size error while trying to fetch records for ctparts complex table. From platform point of view you have increased heap size. Next step is to analyze application settings for ctparts complex table. As indicated by Steve from application point you need check the need for amount of materials your trying to retrive , can you set filter for ctparts , does ctparts BAPI execute in SAP without any timeout error.
What is the version of Work Manager your using ? With WM 6.1 you have options to take advantage of data staging that is delievered as part of standard application.

Max. heap size - possibility to set in jar file ?
Hi everybody,
my first question ;-)
I used java webstart for a while to roll out my software to 2 other colleagues. There was a possibility to set the starting and maximum heap size via the jnlp file. Recently I switched my "deployment process" to a simple jar file. I looked through the jar docs and googled a bit until I found this in the [bug database|http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4682105]
and especially:
When jar file is read the maximum heap size is already set.
It is not feasible to introduce this feature.
So the only way to do this is using a script ?
Thanks in advance and enjoy your day,
MichaelThanks for your quick and economic response.
Another way would be to use a tool like Launch4j which builds an exe file. Until now I have not been a friend of exe files for java programs. Since my application is only used in Windows environment I will have to rethink this opinion. -
I have the HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE (ICS/4.0). It has 3.63 GB phone storage remaining, and the sd card has 7.35 GB remaining. Forget the sd card. How can my phone, or any phone for that matter, get the error message of "insufficient space on device" when there's more than enough space on the device? Thank you in advance.
Turn off your phone.
Hold power - and volume up I believe It might be down.
From there you can select recovery and then hold vilume up and tap power to open the menu.
There should be an option there to clear system cache. -
HT2480 setting up more than one exchange account for iphone
Does anyone know how to set up more than one exchange account??
What you have is an alias email address to a primary email account.
You cannot create separate email accounts in Mail that share the same user name, password and incoming mail server due to the account and associated mailbox filing structure at the Finder level. When creating an email account in Mail, an account named folder is created at the first level within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account which is why you cannot create multiple accounts that share the same user name and incoming mail server.
To add an alias email address to a primary account, go to Mail > Preferences > Accounts and under the Account Information tab for the account preferences at the Email Address field, add the alias email addresses to the email address for the primary account separated by a comma - [email protected], [email protected], etc.
All incoming messages for all email addresses will be deposited in the Inbox mailbox for the primary email account. If you want to separate messages by email address to a user created "On My Mac" location mailbox, you must create the mailboxes first and then create a rule to move messages received by email address.
When composing a message, the alias email addresses will be available via the account pop-up selection window just below the message header. -

In itunes it is called syncing and you can choose exactly what content to sync to all devices and it can be different for all of them

Maps - how to set up more than one destination
In Mavericks 10.9.4, how do I use the system Maps application to set up more than one destination? I saw no way to add a 2nd destination to my route. I know I could set up several one-destination trips but that seems silly.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.
