HELLLLPPP!! BT Cut me off early, now won't help me...

BT Really are rubbish.
Long story but here goes.
- I have been a BT Customer under my Nan's name since 2002 as I lived with her, no issues
- My Nan died in January 2013, as an old person who was happy as long as ther service worked, she never looked for a better deal.
- I got a better deal with talk talk so performed a swap.
- BT sent me a letter begging me to stay.
- I decided to stay getting TV, BT infinity and BT vision for £50.00 a month.
- BT told me I need to pay £120.00 for a new aerial.
- I call BT two weeks later to inform them I am moving on 18th May 2013 and to re-connect all existing services on 21st May 2013
-18 April 2013 my internet line is dead, with further investigation I find too my telephone line and BT Vision services have stopped.
- Realise BT have cut me off a month early and set my moving out date as 18 April 2013 instead of 18 May 2013
- Call BT who apologise and say they will get me put back on ASAP and expedite the order
- BT then say I will have a random number and if I want BT Vision and BT infinity back I need to take half a day off work to wait for the engineer, I did this 2 weeks ago when installation first took place.
- BT then say I can have BT Normal Broadband free for 6 months and an alternative number but no TV. Reluctantly I agree as I need my internet connection
- Telephone and broadband will both go live on 26th April 2013
- Telephone line with a random number finally goes live again on 26th April 2013
- Call BT ask where the broadband is, they say there was an error and it would be up on the 27th April and offered apologies
- Broadband isn’t up on 27th April was told it would be expedited again and live o 28th April
- 28th April comes and goes, Nothing.
- Call BT Again told that Broadband would be expedited and would be re-connected within 48 hours.
- 20 minutes later I get an invoice saying I am being charged £60.00 for a new modem and the Broadband will go live on 7th May 2013
- I call BT up saying I don’t need  a new router, I have all the gear already to them disconnecting me previously.
- BT Advise me they will fast track my order and will be live on 1st or 2nd May.
- Broadband wasn’t live on 1st May so called to ask if it will be live today. Advised No, will go live on 7th May 2013.
- So I’ve spent £60.00 on a router I don’t need, I wont be paying for it
- Customer service is shocking, you seem to get some caring understanding scottish woman then you get put through to some ignorant agent over seas who doesn't empathise with you what so ever. AVOID BT like the plague if you can.
- £120.00 on a TV Aerial I can’t use and now need to pay more to move it to new Property, BT Can pay this.
- Been without a service now since 18th April and paying for a telephone line.
- Wasn’t offered any other TV option
- Spent over £70.00 on mobile calls to 0800 number to BT as I’ve had no telephone
Taking this lot to trading standards and small claims court.

Can't even get their package! This is what happened to us:
April 11: We placed an order for a broadband package with you. We had an email confirmation saying we would be connected on April 18.
April 12: We had an email out of the blue informing us that our order had been cancelled. There was no explanation. A subsequent phone call by us revealed the order was being redone.
April 17: We had an email saying our broadband would be connected on April 24.
April 16: A BT hub arrived.
April 18: Four texts to my mobile phone informing me we would be going live on April 19! Several phone calls later we’d sorted that out.
April 20: An email arrived ‘happy’ to inform us our broadband would be going live on April 29.  No apology. No explanation.
April 26: A phone call informing us that our MAC code had expired and we’d need to get a new one. I pointed out this would take five days which would surpass the April 29 deadline. We managed to get a new MAC code to you on April 27 after a lot of pressure from us on our current provider.
April 29: An email ‘happy’ to inform us that our broadband would be connected on May 3. No apology. No explanation. (I have not listed the continual and sometimes stressful phones calls we have engaged in trying to sort this mess out, but we persevered when I’m sure many people would have kicked you in to touch by now).
May 1: An email ‘happy’ to inform us that our broadband would be going live on May 9. No apology. No explanation.
May 2: An email informing us our broadband would be going live on May 10 etc etc etc. We were passed from pillar to post in phone calls. Eventually a lady told us because of our circumstances she would be personally handling our account and she would get back to us in an hour to keep us informed. We heard nothing for the rest of the day.
May 3: I received a text informing us you needed a MAC code! At this point we were getting to last straw country. It wasn’t long before we reached that.
What followed next was simply and absolutely appalling. For the third day in the row we were involved in long phone conversations with various people. My wife was trying to ascertain what was going on and why we needed a MAC code just seven days after we’d provided you with one. She got upset and then unfortunately but understandably got angry with the person on the other end of the line when they failed to explain properly why a new code was needed and that she was repeatedly told that were all set to go live on the 10th. A trainer cut in at that point, told my wife to calm down – no apologies for this awful situation – and told her that we would be going live in May 13 (a completely new date!). When she said we would not because we would actually be away then, he told her rather imperiously that we would be going live on May 13. At that point we called an end to what had become a farcical affair.
We got put through to someone to cancel our order. My wife was left hanging on the phone for over 30 minutes – no coming back from time to time to make sure she was okay and affirming that matters were in hand – and was eventually told that there had been a problem because there seemed to be two orders, but that the cancellation had now been processed.

    I really apprecate your very quick respond, Its too late to back up as of now, my hard drive wont load at all so I cannot follow your instruction to back it up. Learn a hard lesson but I will from now on following your link.
    Also my hard drive it is not available to do the free exchange program.
    I read the OWC instruction on how to replace the drive I was just wondering if the 2TB would work on it instead of the 1 TB they offer, I specifically asked for the Seage Barracuda because I had great experiences with it on PCs.

  • ZEN Micro won't turn Off and now won't turn

    Hi Everyone, hope you can help me out here.
    I have been using my ZEN micro for about week now and it was at first working fine.
    Then it started not turning off, so i had to pull out the battery.
    This is obviously very annoying, but it got worse over time.
    It now won't turn on unless i switch it about 30-40 times.
    What is going on, is there a way to fix it and is anyone experiencing the same problem?

    FernIe, I have the exact same problem, although now my Zen Micro won't turn on at all via the switch.
    My Zen Micro is 5 months old and its only been over the past few weeks I've been having problems. It started with having to hold the switch in the power on position for a least 30 secs and trying it at least 5-0 times before the player would turn on, and having to remove the battery to turn it off. Now, not matter how many times I try the switch or how long i hold it for, the player won't turn on.
    The battery is fully charged and I have never had problems with the headphone jack, and I haven't dropped it or done any damage to it that I think could be causing it. I'm having to turn it on by plugging it into my computer through the USB cable and then unlpugging it once its on, it's a pain doing this and means if I want to use it later I have to keep it on, muted, in my bag all day with the lock turned on (that end of the switch works) then once its turned off I can't turn it on again until I get near a computer again.
    I've searched the discussions and knowledge base but haven't found an answer. I've just emailed the support team and I'm waiting for their response, would be interested to know what they've told you.

  • Computer just turned off and now won't turn back on!!

    I have an IQ770 Touchsmart and while I was out of the room, it turned itself off.  Now it won't even turn back on!!!  I've unplugged and replugged and it won't do anything.  What could have caused it?  There was no power interruption, it's plugged into a power surge protector, my other desktop is working fine.  I've been working on it all day, and now it's dead!  What do I do?  Can anyone help me?

    Ok, I've tried to plug it back in, and when the plug reaches a certain point, it pops sorta.  Which tells me that it's the psu unit that's gone.  This puter is only 2 years old.  I've already had to send it in for a complete hard disk die, now this.  It's a Touchsmart IQ770.  Yes, made the mistake of getting one of the first ones.  Not only that, it's Vista all the way.  So, this computer is screwed both ways all the way.  When it works, it's wonderful, but since it only works half the time, it's definitely not worth the money, time, headaches or worry that it entails to have.  It's an expensive piece of @#*(!!!!)  I do want to thank the people who tried to help me, sorta.  Just put this into the next inquiry of the IQ770, It sucks!!!!  Big green donkey dicks!!!  Vista made it worse!!!

    You probably have a thermal problem.  Try resetting the  SMU  and see if that helps.  Since it's an iSight you can't take it apart to check for defective caps, but you can bring it in to have a tech do it for you.

    i was using my phone like usual then opened an app but the screen went to the homepage and my apps had an x on them like i was going to delete them. i pressed the sleep button to see if it would stop but my phone wouldn't turn back on. the screen is dark like it is off but i can still hear notifications when i get them and also put my phone on vibrate. how can i fix this? i have ios 7 and it wont show up on itunes when i plug it into my computer.

  • HP Envy 32" monitor screen randomly shuts off and now won't come back one

    So I've had this monitor for about two weeks. Several times it has randomly just went black. The power indicator LED is still showing it's on. My laptop still recognizes that it's connected only when I physically disconnect it from my laptop or unplug the power cord does it disconnect. Right after it happens I try switching to a different input (i had another laptop hooked up to the HDMI) and also pulling up the menu but nothing happens. I try turning it off with the power button or remote, nothing happens. Only after I unplug the power and plug it back in does the display work. ...Until this last time, it went black and no amount of unplugging and plugging back in would get it to work. It still "connects" to my laptop but there's no image, only blackness. I've mainly been using it with my lenovo thinkpad yoga via the onedock pro displayport, but when I try just HDMI with my other laptop I still get nothing. I've also tried unplugging and holding the power button for >1min like another post suggested. Any ideas? I'd hate to have to send it back.

    okay so after a long wait with it being unplugged, I tried it and the display worked. i adjusted a few settings -turned off auto input selection and made DP hot plug always on (not sure what that does, but I thought I'd give it a try). Now instead of it randomly going black it randomly shows a green screen of vertical lines, and I have to unplug and wait forever before it works again. any thoughts?

    i tried (Hold Sleep/Wake and Home buttons about 10 secs or more till Apple logo appears) and non is happening ? any ideas

    Standard troubleshooting...
    Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
    If still a problem restore with your backup.
    If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
    If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

  • My 3rd generation ipod touch shut off but now won't charge and is not recognized by my computer. All it shows is the black screen with the apple logo. It did this once before and after letting it sit for a day it charged. I tried this again but nothing.

    My ipod touch 3rd generation shut off when the battery died.  When i tried to charge it but it would not charge and it wasn't recognized by my laptop. This happened once before and it charged after sitting for a day. So I tried it again but it didn't work. I don't know if it is still covered, I got it last july as a replacement for one that broke. Help!! Please!!

    Try:                                               
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on           
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
    How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable              
    - Try on another computer                                                       
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    So to clarify the steps performed...
    1. You've reset the SMC (unsuccessful)
    2. You're unable to power the machine with just battery and no A/C
    3. You're unable to power the machine with battery and A/C
    4. You're unable to power the machine with just A/C and no battery
    If all four of those above scenarios are true, then it's fairly safe to assume there's a power issue either with the inverter inside the machine or a combination of the power flow that occurs between wall - MagSafe - battery - machine.
    Unfortunately, there's no way to "reset" the power adapter. You can however try a different outlet somewhere else in your current location or somewhere totally different. If you're not hooking up directly to a surge protector you could possibly have "dirty power" which can cause power issues.
    What is the warranty status on your machine? Is it covered by the one-year limited? Or did you purchase AppleCare and are you within the 3-year term? This definitely sounds like it could end up in a service call.

    I have had a couple of video files on my ipad which I transferred across from iTunes and played perfectly fine, but to save space on ipad I un sync'd them. I am about to go on holiday so thought I would put them back on my ipad but now it says cannot be played on ipad...have I done something wrong?
