HelloWorld:  HTMLLoader failed to initialize on MAC OSX

Hi All...
Just Started Playing with AIR. Installed the runtime and the latest jdk on a Mac running OSX 10.6.7.
Following the AIR 1.5 HTML Docs, attempted to run the HelloWorld application.
I copied and pasted the HelloWorld-app.xml content and HelloWorld.html content into their respective files. Copied also the AIRAliases.js to the HelloWorld folder and used the command line tools as indicated:
adl HelloWorld-app.xml
The commend executes, but what I get is the following, both on the console and on an ActionScript error window:
Error: HTMLLoader failed to initialize
        at flash.html::HTMLLoader/initHTMLEngine()
        at flash.html::HTMLLoader()
        at runtime::ContentPlayer/loadInitialContent()
        at runtime::ContentPlayer/playRawContent()
        at runtime::ContentPlayer/playContent()
        at runtime::AppRunner/run()
        at ADLAppEntry/run()
        at global/runtime::ADLEntry()
After dismissing the error window, the HellowWorld app window appears, but with no content.
I was unable to find any pointers to what is wrong, and where... I know that HelloWorld.html is being read because if i remove the file, i get a different complain, about it being missing... Also, if I remove all it's content, i don't get the error, but I also don't get the app window.
Any clues?
Thanks!

Also. I tried packaging the application and was able to generate a HelloWorld.air package. When i run it, the application crashes.
I also downloaded some of the AIR applications offered by adobe on the SDK download window. Some run, some crash... The AOL Videos app crashes after the splash window, in a similar way that the HelloWorld.air app crashes...
Here is the first part error from the crash window... I can paste the whole thing, but it is very lengthy:

  • Multiple Applications failing to launch in Mac OSX Mavericks

    Hi there,
    I recently updated my Mac Pro to Mac OSX Mavericks (OS X 10.9.2), and since that time, I have experienced multiple applications in my Adobe CC Subscription failing to launch. As a first step, I attempted to uninstall the applications so that I could reinstall them and see if that fixed the problem. However, when I go to uninstall the applications, I get the same message (crash report) that I get when I attempt to launch them, so I'm unable to uninstall the applications.
    I'm not sure what the protocal is, or where I can send the crash reports to get a better idea of what is going wrong. Below I've listed a series of applications that are failing to launch, then the applications that are launching and running perfectly fine, along with some information about the computer I'm running on to see if the hardware might be out-of-date and adding to the problem.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can offer and I look forward to hearing from anyone that could provide some insight!

  • Photoshop Elements 10 (& Premiere Elements 10) - Installer failed to initialize on Mac

    Hi, has anyone cracked the issue of PSE 10 failing to install on a Mac (OSX 10.7.3)? I've chatted to Support and surfed these forums and the only way it seems to install is by creating a new admin account. Not ideal.
    I've downloaded the software a couple of times and it makes no difference. There is obviously something different between the default admin account and creating another admin account but I can't figure out what.
    Appreciate any help or guidance.
    Thanks, Julian

    Hi,
    A lot of factors can be the cause of permission issues. A lot of applications modify native permissions in order to function as expected.
    It may sometimes be difficult to narrow down to the exact cause of the permissions issue.
    Creating a new admin account eliminates the need to individually fix the permissions in your default Admin account as it creates new access rights. Hence the application does not encounter any issues while being reinstalled in the new Admin account.
    Hope this answers your question.

  • HT1338 I failed to re-install Mac OSX after I removed it while removing my personal info. I forgot my Apple ID & password at the time. I have now recovered them with my windows type spare computer. How can I reinstall OSX on my MacBook Air?

    I failed to re-install the OSX on my MacBook Air after erasing my personal information in preparation to sell the computer. Reason: I forgot my Apple ID and password. I have recovered my ID and password on my wondows computer. There is no software on my MacBook Air right now. How do I re-install OSX?

    Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
    Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
    Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
    Partition and Format the hard drive:
    1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
    2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
    Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
    Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
                if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
    This will install the OS originally installed on your computer. If you plan to sell or give away the computer, then do not upgrade it or the purchaser will not be able to use it.

    There is no Adobe Support Advisor when I clicked on the link. "The Adobe Support Advisor has been discontinued" (http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/)

  • PS Elements 9 installer failing to initialize on Mac OS

    I had a hard drive failer and am in the process of reinstalling everything.  I put my PSE 9 disk in and choose install.  A window pops up saying "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."  I downloaded the support advisor and it says nothing is wrong.  I tried to install the trial version and got the same message.  WTH!!!
    Since PSE 10 is now out, I can't find anyplace to download even a trial version of 9 so I can at least put in my serial number and Adobe's website has NOTHING for PSE9.  I don't want to pay another $80 when I have a disk for 9 already.  Before my HD crash, PSE9 worked perfectly fine.
    I'm not a happy camper.  I don't know what to do at this point.

    Got it loaded.  It was a permissions issue.  For some reason my log-in as an admin wouldn't allow me to install the application.  I saw on another thread that someone had the same issue and they created another login as an admin and loaded it that way.  When I called Apple for another issue I was having I told them about this and what the  possible solution was and they talked me through creating a new user as an admin.  Once that was set up I put the disk back in and it loaded perfectly fine.   WHEW!!!  I'm a happy camper again.  I haven't decided if I'm going to delete that user or not.  Just in case I run into another issue down with road with any other applications.
    Thank you to the Adobe forum for the information I needed to get this resolved.

  • "Fails to initialize" on Mac 10.7.4

    Downloaded Configurator 3 today from labs, tried to install, but get a message that it failed to initialize.  Suggests I download Support Advisor, which I did, and that reports nothing wrong.
    I have Air installed, using it fine with related applications, so that shouldn;t be an issue.
    Any ideas, or should I just forget this?  I tried this a week or two ago, same result, moved on.

    Please check whether there are log files which name contains "Adobe Configurator 3" under /Library/Logs/Adobe/Installer directory.
    If yes, could you please send it to [email protected]?
    And it is better you can tell me your steps to reproduct this problem.

  • Adobe Extension Manager CS5 - Adobe InDesign extensions failed to import on Mac OSX 10.9.3

    Purchased a new MacBook Pro in January and just now trying to load my copy of Adobe CS5 onto it. Everything installed okay, but when I launch Adobe Extension Manager I get an error message saying that certain extensions failed to import and to make sure they are valid extensions.
    I tried to install a 3rd party extension that I use and it will not import either. Not sure if this is a software or hardware issue.
    Error message reads as follows:
    The following extensions 'idcs5_AssetPubLibrary.zxp,idcs5_AssignmentUI.zxp,idcs5_Assignments.zxp,idcs5_AWS.zxp,idc s5_AWSUI.zxp,idcs5_BasicTools.zxp,idcs5_Book Panel.zxp,....' for product 'InDesign CS5' failed to be imported. Please make sure these are valid extensions.
    I tried to update the extension manager to version 5.0.3 and that did not work. I tried uninstalling the entire suite and reinstalling and same results.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    My guess is that you're trying to use the Migrate feature from OSX. Unfortunately, this will not work reliably with Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud applications.
    You'll need to run the Adobe Cleaner tool to delete all Adobe stuff you copied over:
    Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation ... - Adobe
    Then you'll have to install  CS5 from your original discs or a backup of your original install files.
    Lacking that, you can download CS5 from this link:

  • Publish Failed: Captivate 6.1, Mac OSX 10.8.5

    I am experiencing the dreaded and unhelpful "Publish Failed" error message as well. I receive the message only when I am publishing a project with a quiz; projects without quizzes publish without any issue. I am publishing only to SWF output. I am running the latest build of Captivate: 6.1.0.319. I'm running a MacBook Pro Retina on OSX 10.8.5.
    Reading through similar previous threads, I saw mention of a file named "Default.html" to be found in ../Publish/SCORM/Default/1_2.
    But the file I find residing there is named "Default_HTML5.html". I don't know if this makes any difference.
    I have deleted the plist file as well. Still no joy.
    Please, I am open to any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

    Hi There,
    Greetings from Adobe.
    Please try the below steps and see if it works for you:
    It seems that Defaul.htm is missing from your SCORM folder . I am sending you the Zip file. Please unzip it and replace it with the SCROM folder already located on Captivate installed location. Please follow the below steps:
    Download the zip file from the following link -  https://workspaces.acrobat.com/?d=pjLGDuZsiduZy79qoEcDEw
    Unzip it.
    Take the backup of the SCORM folder present at “/Applications/Adobe Captivate 6/Templates/Publish/”
    Replace the one with the unzipped folder.
    Re-launch the captivate.
    Open the captivate project which has SCORM1.2 reporting.
    Re-Publish it.
    Let me know if you still face the same issue.
    Regards,
    Mayank

  • Installer fails to initialize, CS5 Web Premium, Mac OSX 10.7.3

    OK I had a trial of Dreamweaver 5.5 on my Macbook which has expired. I uninstalled and now I'm trying to install our web premium cs5. Getting error, 'installer failed to initialize'
    Downloaded the support advisor, it says there are no issues.
    Any ideas ?

    Fixed. We created an ISO from the web premium DVD and copied that onto the Mac, then used the Mac ISO mounter and it installed fine from there.
    Thanks

  • Mac OSX 10.5.6 update fails every time

    Hi,
    I recently did a defrag on my macbook pro and reinstalled it from the leopard disk. And so it was reset to mac OSX 10.5, now every time I try the combined update to 10.5.6 it fails, I tried twice with the updated deleting in after the first try. I then downloaded it from the downloads but to no avail.

    Hello and welcome to the discussions. Just recently the 10.5.6 combo update was revised to allow the update from 10.5.0. Before it was required 10.5.1 to update using the 10.5.6 combo. Try updating to 10.5.1 then run the 10.5.6 combo.
    You can download 10.5.1 here:
    http://support.apple.com/downloads/MacOS_X_10_5_1Update
    Hope it works for you,

  • Installer failed to initialize / cpsid_83578r3 / CS5 on OSX Mavericks

    I own Adobe CS5 PRODUCTION PREMIUM and have successfully used it for a number of years on my Mac OS X computer. Recently I could not get After Effects to open so I uninstalled it, intending to reinstall it. I have recently installed the new Mac OS X "Mavericks" on my computer. Right now, I cannot get the disc installer to work--I get an error saying, "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." which I did:
    cpsid_83578r3: Error, "Validate license at Pre-chrome" when installing - Creative Suite 5
    Click here for details and corrective actions related to this issue.
    I have searched Adobe forums for solutions. However, I have found no solutions. I REALLY need this software to work for my new job. What do I need to do to get AE to install from my CS5 Production Premium discs? I can still use other CS5 programs, but not AE...please help!

    Jneigh there is no need to post your token number as the service which allows us to collect the installation logs is no longer available.
    Did you complete the steps in the referenced document at Install log error "Validate license at Pre-Chrome time" - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/install-log-error-validate-license.html?

  • Failed to load preferences error on upgrade of Anyconnect to 3.0.3054 on my MAC OSX LION 10.7.1

    Hi Folks,
    Since the upgrade of Anyconnect to 3.0.3054 on my MAC OSX LION 10.7.1, i have been getting
    failed to load preferences error. During the upgrade the vpn connection get established, but once
    i disconnect and try to connect again its starts bombing on "failed to load preferences". For now
    i keep uninstalling anyconnect and reinstall an older version which while autoupgrading to 3.0.3054
    is able to connect for the first time. Its getting very painful. Any help from the support team will be
    appreciated!

    I had the same issue and it is due to corrupted preferences.xml file under /opt/cisco/vpn/profile directory. Easy way to fix is uninstall the client and remove the profile directory under /opt/cisco/vpn. Removing the profile directory requires a root access on MAC OS X.

  • Mac osx 10.6.8 to mavericks always fail

    i dont even know what shall i do to fix this problem
    all i wanna do is to update my mac to mavericks but that isnt happening even after downloading mavericks several times
    in each time it reach half way and finish downloading
    when it starts to install it fails
    anyone knows what shall i do?
    am running mac osx 10.6.8

    Check your download speed here > Speedtest.net by Ookla - The Global Broadband Speed Test
    Less than 10Mbps, the file may be timing out before it can finish the installation.
    Be aware, with Mavericks installed, if you need to repair the startup disk or restore OS X that requires using OS X Recovery which requires a high speed broadband connection as noted here.
    Mavericks requires 8GB of disk space.
    Control click the MacintoshHD icon on your desktop or open the Finder, right or control click startup disk in the Sidebar on the left then click Get Info.
    You'll see Available and Capacity. Make sure there's at least 15% available disk space.
