Help! $42 vague surcharge in addition to gov and other fees!

Help!... I just got my first bill and in addition to all the plan fees, government fees, taxes and other surcharges, is a vague Verizon surcharge that raised by bill by 33%. My bill went from an outrageous 112.00 to an outrageously egregious 154.00! 154.00 a month for limited talk and limited data! How could I have comparison shopped if they slip a vague charge like that in? Of course, there is no customer service link anywhere to contest this.
A - How do I contest this?
B - How do I early terminate this contract before it bankrupts me?
Please help, my wife and I may have to eat cat food to pay for this plan... and my wife hates fish.

    I'm just a newbie. I got my Curve 9220 a month ago. The phone is really good but i have some problems regarding my about phone. You see i can access my social sites and application and can be done in my web browser but strangely i can't connect to other sites except those mentioned sites. I can use my bbm and some instant messaging applications (YM, Gtalk etc) but unfortunately not my bb app world. 
     By the way my carrier is globe, I have called them about this matter, they told me they have fix it but until now nothing happens. It's frustrating you know?
     Is there a way that I could do it manually by my self? Or should I call them again until they have got my problem fixed?
     Additionally, its odd because I can't even go to thier mobile website. How this could happen when I'm not restricted to access my social site?

  • Need help ASAP - SSAS Tabular error has me stumped and others' solutions do not apply in this case.

    Hello everyone,
    Here's hoping no one will consider this to be the wrong forum. The data source is an Access database, but the issue is an SSAS Tabular issue. Kind of desperate here... the customer needs this ASAP, and I've been trying to resolve this for a week
    already! Any help would be much appreciated!
    A customer of mine (another employee of the ComIT department) is receiving an error trying to open an Access database via SQL Data Tools.
    The error is "OLE DB or ODBC error: The Microsoft Access database engine cannot open or write to the file '\\[our_domain]\[the_path_to_the_file]\[database_name].accdb'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission
    to view and write its data.; 3051."
    What perplexes me is that I do not receive this error, my coworkers on the DBA team do not receive this error, and our boss does not receive this error--even on the customer's machine. But the customer gets this error every single time.
    The only difference is the credentials provided on the "Impersonation Information" window.
    Here is our process:
    We open SQL Data Tools, we create a new Analysis Services Tabular Project, we select the workspace server (our Analysis Services server... db5079\tabular) and test connection ("Test connection succeded") and click OK.
    Then we click "Import From Data Source," select "Microsoft Access," enter the full network path to the database and test connection ("Test connection succeeded")
    The next window says "Impersonation Information - Specify the credentials used by the Analysis Services server to connect to the data source when importing and processing data"
    The credentials provided at this point is the only difference between me/my team/our boss and the customer. If we use our own credentials at this point--even on the customer's machine--we receive no error and everything is fine.
    If we use the customer's credentials, we get the error above at the end of the next step (i.e., after we choose the data to import and then click Finish).
    So that's it. On the same machine, the customer's credentials produce this error, and our credentials do not.
    I have already added the customer as a server administrator to the Analysis Services server (db5079\tabular).
    Copying the data source to another folder on the network or to his local machine produces the same results: his credentials produce the error, my credentials/my boss's credentials/etc. do not.
    All of our machines are 64 bit, and the Analysis Services server is 2012 64-bit.
    Please help!

    UPDATE: As it turns out, all those who were able to import the data were local administrators on the Analysis Server (i.e., on the OS), and all those who were unable to import data were not.
    When we added someone who couldn't import the data to the local Administrators group on the Analysis Server, they were able to import the data.
    However, we can't give them local admin on the Analysis Server, and we are unable to determine what combination of user rights and permissions on folders we can grant the user as individual that will allow them to import the data.
    Just as a test, we tried giving the user the same user rights that the admin group has, and the same permissions on all the drive as the admin group has, but that didn't work.
    If it had worked, we could have started reducing the rights until we found the minimum necessary, but it didn't and once again we're stuck.
    Please help!

  • HELP!!! Disk Utility, Network Utility and other apps gone!!!

    I had an admin account with these on its desktop. Monitor, Disk Utilty, Network Utility, OnyX, etc (mostly maintenence tools). I had to erase the admin account and now I can't find them anywhere! I tried reinstalling OSX bundled software only, it installed fine and I still can find these utilites... have I erased them permanently?
    Am I gonna have to do a complete OS X reinstall?

    I'm a very visual person and I take an automated snapshot of my desktops every day or so just in case. Tech Tool Deluxe! I can reinstall from my Apple Care software. Phew...

  • Help!!! My iPad settings icon and other apps like facebook, gmail is gone

    While i was playing fruit ninja , I lock the screen for a while then when I continue , i unlock my iPad with Recognizeme the scanning is fail so I typed the passcode
    Then it unlocked but the problem is MY SETTING ICON AND OTHER APPS ARE GONE AND ALSO THE RECOGNIZEME APP

    Shut down all apps in the multitasking bar:
    *iOS 7/8 closing running apps*
    Double-tapping the Home button will bring up the running apps icons along with an app screenshot "card" above the icon. Tap-drag the app's -card- (NOT the icon) up and off the screen.
    Afterwards, reset the iPad:
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
    The iPad 2 has only 512MB of RAM for running apps (as opposed to simply storing apps on the device). iOS supposedly manages this memory and will automatically close off apps as needed but in practice with my limited use of an iPad mini 1 (which also has 512MB of RAM), I've found that you need to manually close off running apps for the device to work properly. Newer devices like the iPad 3, 4, mini 2 and later have 1GB of RAM for running apps...the iPad Air 2 has 2GB. These devices are not as prone to crashing due to low memory instances.

    The original iPad can't be updated past 5.1.1; you may be able to get compatible application versions by downloading them to a computer and then going to the Purchased screen on the device.

  • HELP! Adobe Muse encountered an unexpected error and will have to be terminated. BD/getColorBoundsRe

    I keep getthing message when my file loads in the program "This document contains 3 links to assets being unsampled. You should resize smaller or right-mouse click on the assets in the Assets panel to see additional options."
    and then I click okay.
    I get to the plan mode and then I try to go to the design mode (so i can fix the assets) and at about 90% loading it gives me this message "Adobe Muse encountered an unexpected error and will have to be terminated.
    BD/getColorBoundsRect-ArgumentError: Error #2015: Invalid BitmapData." and i have to terminate the program...
    How can i fix my assets so i can open my program? I use muse beta prerelease.

    Well, after 20 hours of work and rebuilding most of my Muse website I finally was able to upload by site again.
    Here was my problems per above and the last 20 hours. When publishing the site it does the following: Optimize assets, exportin desktip page 1 thru 19, Fining export HTML files then uploading images which I have 2208 on this site plus other stuff uploaded.
    I can not answer why it now works as "normally"it would het error #2015 uring optimizing assets wich is an invalid bitmap data error and failed at only 9% publish process then got a 1125 index 0 is out of range0 at publish 20% complete.
    I did rewrite most of the pages and made minor changes to all of them thinking that would force all pages to be uploaded as I also took option to upload all pages instead of just those that changes. All 2008 images were reloaded onto the pages by another hint I read on how to delete all thumbnails and thus the files is to select all and press delete and it will leave one as required. Then the one left could be deleted by itself. Thanks for whoever asked the question and who answered it. This saved me a lot of time.
    Thanks to all that have taken the time to help me out. Muse is a great program but sometimes you don't have any idea if it is working at something so I found myself looking at the computer busy light to see if Muse was taking a lot of cycles. It would help to have a wider use of the cursor busy indicator as sometimes the system seemed like it was hung up but it was not.

    It is a 500mhz Power PC G3. 128 mb and has 10.2.8
    will she be able to use the isight camera if the isight camera says it needs

    My "face thing" is my old avatar, unchanged from what I was using before Apple changed the Discussion forum operations on 14 Nov, 2005. The only difference is that my avatar does not fit in the same relative location as it did in the previous Apple Discussions layout.
    Posting in the new Discussions has slowed me down, too, but I am not sure I understand the help you are offering me, Jon.
    Are you trying to explain how to refer to a specific post inside a thread? For instance, I already know how to create a link so your previous post inside this thread will be at the top of the page when someone clicks on the link.
    My biggest problem with the new Discussions is my inability to edit my User Tips. Thus, I cannot correct my old Tips to account for the formatting changes from the pre-14 November version of Discussions. There are also some links and other changes that should be made in my existing "User Tips" on Apple's pages, but Apple have not yet restored our ability to edit the User Tips that were migrated to the new system in the November 2005 change.
    Until Apple restores our edit access, my work-around is to offer the corrected version of all my User Tips (and some additional topics) at EZ Jim's iSite. These versions are correct and up to date in the "Topics" posted there. If you find them of value, you have my permission to use them and to link to them in the help you offer to others.

    I am in need of help or advice and do not know where else to turn other then here.  I am trying to get in touch with upper management in reference to my account. 
    I recently purchased a Note 3 on the edge program only to be disappointed with what was to follow.  On the first day of owning the device I was truly fascinated with all the option that I now had in my hands.  Along with the capabilities of the device itself.  On day two the device deactivated itself, not really sure how this happened and of course either was tech support but after an hour and a half on the phone they ended up telling me to put a different sim card in the phone in order to get it work correctly.  At this point I was kinda of skeptical of the device, considering this was only day two of owning it.  Sad to say, but my intuition was absolutely correct.  A few days later I started having issues with the camera, so i took it in to the store to have them swap it out since it was still under the 14 day period, only to be told that there was nothing wrong with the device.  I tried to explain to the sells rep that the pictures where coming out blurry and showed him a few examples.  Of course the rep fed me full of nonsense in order to keep from swapping the phone out.  A few days later I started having issues with incoming calls, I would have to say "Hello" a minimum of three times before the person on the other line would hear me.  I then called Verizon and told them I wanted to have the phone replaced and explained to them that maybe I just got a lemon, no harm, no foul, just to send me a new phone and call it a day.  Well I was sure in for a loop, the rep explains to me that only the stores can swap out or replace the phones with a new device.  I tried to explain to the rep that the stores here are notorious for misleading customers so they do not have to replace or swap out the devices.  The rep again told me there was nothing I could do unless i wanted a certified pre-owned device.  I told them I would attempt the store again.  After numerous times calling in to tech support and visiting the store, the issues with the device increased.  I was now having camera issues, call issues, phone calling itself in my vehicle all the time, screen going grey, charging issues, and the last people stating that I was echoing. 
    It is now the 14th day and I called in and explained to the rep that I needed to have the phone swapped out or return it.  The rep went on to explain to me that since it was the 14th day that i couldn't return unless i paid a restocking fee.  I explained to him all that I had been through and he agreed to replace the phone with a new device.  Well, a few days roll by and no device but I did receive an envelope in the mail from verizon with a prepaid shipping tag.  I called back to verizon and explained to them what I had received and what I should have received.  Only to be told once again that i would have to go to the store, but on this instance I was to ask for a manager and have them replace the device.  She was to put everything in the notes so there would be no issues.  I arrive at the store, check in, wait the normal hour wait and finally get helped by the manager.  The manager tells me on the camera issue that it is far worst then most adroid phones on the market today.  I explained to him how I was told it was the same as the camera in the S4 he told me it wasn't and that the sales rep over the phone don't know what they are talking about, he also explained to me that they are inexperienced and have no training.  He explained to me that they know the product better because they touch it everyday.  I then told him i was just there to swap it out and thats all i wanted.  He told me that there was nothing wrong with my phone.  I told him about the call issue, his response to that was, your getting dropped calls because you are picking up all the wifi open networks in the area.  I told him I didn't state i was having  problem with dropping calls, I told him I was having issues with incoming calls.  I then showed him, he of course saw it and said that all Note 3 devices do that.  I asked him about the charging issued, his response to that, call Samsung they know about the problem and will take care of the issue.  Ok, what about the phone calling in itself in my vehicle now, never did that before, he states, you need to turn off the bluetooth, wifi and other networks.  I told him that doesn't make sense and that I had already had the Acura dealer look at it.  He told me they software in the vehicle was probably out of date and that the techs don't really update that kind of stuff.  So I told him, in other words i have a dumb phone since I can't use anything on it.  That doesn't make since.  He explained to me that he did not see anything wrong with the device, despite the fact that he saw all these issues. 
    At this point I call back to Verizon wireless and ask them what they would like me to do, since they won't swap it or let me ship it back.  They agreed to replace it with a certified device, and of course out of frustration I agree.  Naturally after cooling off and talking with my wife, we had both agreed that this was unacceptable especially since we where paying full price.  I agreed with her and called Verizon the next morning and told them to cancel the order, they agreed and of course after an hour of telling my whole story, which sorry It would be a novel it I wrote everything that happened, they agreed to have their manager call me back in four hours.  Well we have all heard that before, I definitely wasn't going to hold my breath. 
    A day passes and I call back to find out what the status was on the new device, only to be told there is no new device.  They get me over to tech support, since apparently they are the only ones who can replace a device with a new device, and after an hour and a half I am told I would have one shipped out next day air, that it had been approved by upper management.  They explained to me to refuse the one that was coming, since they never canceled it, and use the prepaid label I had to ship the original Note 3 back.  Of course not using my head I do just exactly that, so now I have no phones and guess what, the one they said they where going to send me, it is sitting out there in la la land.
    I call back on my day off, I actually spend 6 hours of it on the phone with verizon, to be laughed at, lied to and belittled by verizon employees.  I finally get a manager by the name of Natalie Thomas, she explains to me that first she needed to receive the original device in her warehouse before she could do anything.  She also explained to me that she would check it everyday until it got there and once it did she would be in contact with me.  She also gave me her email so we could communicate back and forth.  It was all great until verizon actually received the phone, after that she has no longer answered any of my emails or calls.  I am still without a device and being charged for it. Now every time i called in, everyone had seen the order for the new device, except for Natalie Thomas.
    It has now been four days and I have still not heard anything, so I went a head and paid my bill minus the fees for the new device only to receive an email 7 hours later threading to suspend my account and be charged more fees.  So, naturally i call them and speak with Cynthia, she explains that she also sees that same order that has been in there since the 29th of May but is unsure as to why it has not shipped.  She explained to me forutantely you got in touch with the same department that did the order so they could take care of it.  She then told me a manager would call me back in 30 minutes to finalize this order and get this phone finally on its way. 
    It has now been 4 hours and I have still not heard anything.  So, with all this said and done, minus a few other calls, does anyone know how I can get in touch with upper management to get my account resolved?  I know have a $699.00 bill for a device that I do not have, no Note 3, and all the fees to go with it.  I'm not sure calling will do anything since I can't get anyone to call me back anyways. 
    Any advice we truly be appreciated, or if someone has a way to get a hold of upper management that would be a huge help.

    I call back on my day off, I actually spend 6 hours of it on the phone with verizon, to be laughed at, lied to and belittled by verizon employees.  I finally get a manager by the name of Natalie Thomas, she explains to me that first she needed to receive the original device in her warehouse before she could do anything.  She also explained to me that she would check it everyday until it got there and once it did she would be in contact with me.  She also gave me her email so we could communicate back and forth.  It was all great until verizon actually received the phone, after that she has no longer answered any of my emails or calls.  I am still without a device and being charged for it. Now every time i called in, everyone had seen the order for the new device, except for Natalie Thomas.
    It has now been four days and I have still not heard anything, so I went a head and paid my bill minus the fees for the new device only to receive an email 7 hours later threading to suspend my account and be charged more fees.  So, naturally i call them and speak with Cynthia, she explains that she also sees that same order that has been in there since the 29th of May but is unsure as to why it has not shipped.  She explained to me forutantely you got in touch with the same department that did the order so they could take care of it.  She then told me a manager would call me back in 30 minutes to finalize this order and get this phone finally on its way. 
    It has now been 4 hours and I have still not heard anything.  So, with all this said and done, minus a few other calls, does anyone know how I can get in touch with upper management to get my account resolved?  I know have a $699.00 bill for a device that I do not have, no Note 3, and all the fees to go with it.  I'm not sure calling will do anything since I can't get anyone to call me back anyways. 
    Any advice we truly be appreciated, or if someone has a way to get a hold of upper management that would be a huge help.

  • Help! My iPad's screen is black and unresponsive, but when I plug it in I can hear it make the noise it normally would. I'm unsure what to do and I've been looking all over the internet for solutions and so far none are working.

    As I mentioned, the screen is black and unresponsive. However when ever I plug it into either my charger or my lap top it will make the expected sounds, it also [when plugged into my computer] opens up iTunes how ever the device can't be seen on the side bar. So far to resolve the issue I've tried.
    - Attempting to turn it on
    - A reset using the home/sleep button and the power button
    - Plugging it into my computer to see if I can get it working through iTunes [Which so far is fruitless]
    - Holding 3 fingers down in the screen in case my screen curtain was enabled [Nothing happened with that either]
    - Putting it face down over my knee and slapping the back in case a cable was lose [Done this repeatedly and nothing happened]
    I don't know what's wrong with it and I've been searching for solutions for about 2-3 hour's now. I'm hoping someone here might be able to help me as I would like to go through as many options as possible before trying to take it into the apple store.
    [Side note I had also just updated my iPad two nights before the problems began to occur to the iOS 8 technology.My version of iPad is the iPad 2 with 16GB of memory. I'm not sure how much information will be relevant but I'll give as much as possible is someone is able to help me.]

    Apple does not replace screens and your iPad is clearly out of warranty, not that accidental damage would be covered anyway.  If you want to try to have your iPad fixed, there are 3rd party repair centers you can try.  In your google search bar type the following:
    "ipad repair "xxxxx"
    Put your city in the "xxxx"  for example, "tampa, fl"
    There will likely be some options you could investigate.
    Or, you could sell your iPad, even damaged to Gazelle.com and get yourself a shiny new iPad.  And if you do, make sure you add AppleCare+ for $99.  This not only increases your Apple technical support for two full years, but would get you up to two iPad replacements at $49 each.

    I understand that I can set up a different Apple ID for the kids devices, or take physical control of the device and make the changes myself. However, my teenage son is technically savvy enough to have a job in Silicon Valley, as are most young people these days. However, in order to access his devices the current way, I first have to bypass the four digit pass code. This starts a fight of why I need in the device and continues to escalate. The argument that I am the parent will gain access but the fight is simply exhausting, and quite frankly shouldn't have to happen at all. He is not yet an adult, he did not pay for his iPad or iPhone and I, as a parent, should have not only have the right to change options at will, and from anywhere, but look at history or current activity when I feel like it.
    I currently have the settings where app and in-app purchases require my password to be put in, and he must come to me to type it in, but I need more control and would like, and should be able to access any of our six devices and make individual changes simply by logging in to my account, with my password.
    If I can see all my devices on the "Lost My iPhone" app, this technology should be easy to make happen.
    C'mon parents! I have a pretty good kid, given all things that they can get into, but I am not stupid. For everything I see has been done, there is much more I haven't seen. I want my children to be kept safe and be able to know what they are looking at or listening to. We parents are the only ones who know our beliefs and what our kids can handle and when.

    There are mobile device management solutions that can do this, including in Apple's OS X Server system, but most parents generally find that setting this up is more work than it's worth. If you're interested, though, there are a couple that at least purport to be free (I don't know if there are any hidden "gotchas"):

    I don't think any, however, allow you to see current activity or browser history. iOS doesn't expose those to access from MDM solutions, to the best of my knowledge.

    It sounds like you are constantly needing to restore your phone because it keeps going into recovery mode. Usually putting a device into recovery mode and restoring it can help isolate an issue to your iPhone hardware if an issue persists afterwards. I would try manually putting it into recovery mode and restoring it 1 more time:
