Help about location based classes

Helo. i need some help about location classes(i use J2ME). i want to develop a gps compass application. when i connected to gps, orientation is shown on a compass.(for example if i go to northeast direction, compass indicator shows the direction between nort and east).
I made connecting GPS. Now i must draw a compass and show the direction informations on it. For doing this, which location classes i can use?
(i do search about this,but i didn't decide which class i should use. I thought that i can use Orientation class for this. I found a source code and tried it. According to this snippet source code about orientation class, my phone doesn't support Orientation class.But i found an application about gps compass, it works on phone. )

How do i see what beta ver i'm at - deeper than Help | About Firefox - registry .. ?

i am enrolled in the beta channel but because the notification popups are so quick i someties do not see that a new beta ver is available. i consult filehippo regularly to see what updates are out there but i want to have a way i can find what beta i'm at - Help|About Firefox doesn't get it - how can i find that? looked in registry but haven't found what i want

I'm not trying to discredit your work. But I did actually read the workaround and it is valid. That is true. But still that's not an answer to my question nor an explanation for that design choice. It's a workaround for a software not displaying the exact version.
So why not jump in this thread if it exists? Why create a new thread with the same question? Also to apply your logic, why didn't anybody tell the user to use the stable version if he's incapable of figuring out the obvious?

Question 1: At line 3, how many threads we have now ?
my answer is
there are 2 threads. the first one is main thread and the second one is t.
I am not sure about the t thread because in the book, they indicate that after instantiating the thread,
we just have a thread object but not a true thread.
Question 2: At line 4, after t1.start(), which thread will be executed first.
My answer is
we dont know because it depends on the scheduler.
Question 3: what t1.join() does ?
my answer is
blablabla.What I am thinking is t.join() joins the current thread to the end of t so that when t finishes the current thread can run again. However, which one is the current thread now. That is why I am stuck

Don't use code blocks for prose. It won't autowrap and can lead to display problems if a line is too long.

What do you mean by "how many threads to we have?" Do you mean how many Thread objects exist, or how many threads (lower case "t") are executing.
After you have called t1.start(), there are at least 2 threads executing--the main thread, and the one you started. I say "at least" because the JVM has some administrative threads of its own.

Correct. And don't think of one executing "first." They can take turns, or they can both execute at the same time (if you have a multicore or multi-CPU machine).

I need an immediate help about spatial data load. I installed Oracle mapviwer quick start and try to work on it. However, I could not pass the load step. My questions are;
1- Where can I find and download my country's data set (spatial data)
2- With mapviwer, how can I load spatial data to my tables on database (Oracle). Those tables have sdo_geometry columns and I want to query location data, but could not load

I'm a beginner LabView user and I have a question about example that called "Arbitary Waveform Generator".
In this example when I push a button (ex. Creat from Library), appear a window. So I don't understand why. In program code I don't see when the new window called.
Can you help me in this question?

If you right-click on the vi, select "SubVI Node Setup" and a new window opens. There you can set options for the vi to open if called.
You can also set this options in the VI properties.

Hey everyone, thanks for the help. This has been annoying me for quite some time, and I have tried everything and it still doesn't work. I am using Adobe Premiere Version 7.0, just to let you know. Alright, here we go.
This version of Adobe Premiere Pro doesn't let you capture footage with a USB cable (which they did before, why they got rid of it who knows). I have a firewire port, but it broke a long time ago. Anyway, I can only capture with USB. I use Windows Movie Maker to capture in AVI format. I figure I can capture in WMM and import the AVI files to Adobe Premiere.
When I import the Windows-Movie-Maker-captured AVI files into Premiere, it plays perfectly about 25 percent of the clip before the rest of the clip locks on a still frame and the audio of that frame. I have a 19 minute, 48 second clip, and it only gets to 4:59 before it locks on a still frame for the next 15 mins. Does anyone know why it imports but only renders or conforms the first 25%? I could import wmvs but the quality is so low I'd rather not.
Please, someone help me.

Welcome to the forum.
I would use Harm's suggestion to convert the Type I to Type II, and the issues should be solved. Normally, Type I's will function OK, with the occasional OOS (Out Of Sync), but it is static (in most cases), and can be easily adjusted for. Still, the conversion is quick and painless. I use DigitalMedia Converter 2.7 (shareware), but there are many free conversion programs, like Prism, that get good reviews.
Do not use any flavor of WMV, as these will cause many issues, with the loss of quality being only one.
Also, unless you have a laptop, a FireWire card would be a very cheap addition, and get you to where you could Capture directly from your miniDV tape camera. I would go with one that has a controller chip for each connection. I've seen these in the US$10 - 20 range for single chip units, and around US$ 30 for multi-chip cards.

The simple answer is that today PostScript really doesn't fit at all into the Graphic Design process, at least in terms of what the graphic designer needs to know.
Historically, though, the PostScript imaging model, first introduced circa 1984 provided the basis for the initial publishing software including PageMaker, Illustrator, QuarkXPress, and even Ventura Publisher. This imaging model included support for continuously scalable text, vector, and raster imagery as well as the concepts of a current transformation matrix that allowed arbitrary scaling, rotation, etc. and multiple color spaces (grayscale, RGB, CMYK, spot, device independent, and color-managed).
The PostScript imaging model was effectively replaced by the PDF imaging model, a significant superset of the PostScript imaging model, by the time Illustrator 9 and InDesign 2 were released in terms of support of ICC color management, transparency, etc.
The fact is that a good graphic designed doesn't need to know anything about PostScript or PDF per sé, but rather about the basics of color (such as issues associated with color gamut and what how that affects display and printing), use of text versus vector versus raster images and why one should keep content at the highest level of abstraction all the way to the rendering (or screen) or RIP process for printing. Some knowledge of typography also helps.

HELP - ABOUT - Dialog box

I am currently using LV5.1f1 FDS & APP builder on a PC/win95, and I have
a question that I have not been able to find the answer to.....
In some of my earlier applications using LV3.1, 5.0, 5.01f1, I was able
to create a custom About.vi that would be displayed when the user
selected HELP > ABOUT from the menu.
In LV5.1f1, the previous method does not bring up the custom About.vi.
Does anyone know if this feature was removed or changed? Or is this a
bug?

The thread that will not die...
I'm using LabVIEW 8.2.1 on OS X (8.5 is on its way, and I'll give that try). To start, I had to write and external to replace the "About LabVIEW..." item in the application menu to "About myApp", due to an apparent LV bug (discussed in another thread) for my standalone.
I made the About dialog (About.vi) so that it opens centered, transparency 100%, modal, and is not set to show on open or load. The vi sets a display string with the application name and current version, then opens itself (FP.Open = true), shows itself (FP.Transparency = 0), then sits in a while loop till clicked, at which time it sets transparency back to 100 and closes itself.
The problem I'm having is that when the "About..." item is chosen, there is a brief flicker of the window in the "original" position (that is, not centered, but where the vi window was when saved), then it appears where it should (centered) and works correctly. It appears that LabVIEW opens the window, _then_ enforces the 100% transparency (as specified in the vi parameters, not due to program execution).
I've tried running this window from another vi (not via the About menu), and it works perfectly. So, I tried to make an About.vi that would not open at all, but would call my About dialog vi, but this didn't work either--LabVIEW seems to always open the About.vi window, no matter what I try.
This sure appears to be a bug. Any way to fix this?
