Help - Changing browser sizing but keeping pages looking normal

Question

How do I make it so that if I change my screen resolution
from 800X600 to 1024X768 to 1280X800 and keep all the various
elements within my webpage in their proper places? I use layers
alot to keep picture and text in certain places but when I flick
between the latter two sizes mentioned above my pictures & text
go all over the place.
What is this called? and what do I do to implement it. My
deepest thanks in advance.

Making that change alone will not move the various elements
within the
webpage. The page will look exactly the same (only larger or
smaller) in
the same pixel width browser viewport on each of those
resolutions. What
will make things change is either changing the browser
viewport width, or
changing the text size in the browser, or both. And it will
do that on any
resolution.

just not use them.
Your best bet would be to eliminate the use of layers from
your page
building approach and learn how to rely on floats and the
normal flow of the
code to place your elements on the page. Please read this -
