Help: create index error

When I create a CONTEXT Index using default preferences, I meet an exception:
ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
ORA-20000: Oracle Text error:
DRG-50857: oracle error in drixtab.create_index_tables
ORA-01031 insufficient privileges
ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.DRUE", line 157
ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.TEXTINDEXMETHODS", line 186
But I login Oracle as SYSDBA.

Wait, no, that was wrong. My problem was I was creating an index in another user's schema and that user didn't have the connect role. Granting it made the above error go away.

Logs below are focused on table REPOSRC because it is the first error over installation, the same error appear again and again for the next tables.

  • Error in Process chain while deleting index and create index

While executing the process chain  for delete index  the process chain failed with the below error message as "The system has not finished loading request 445315 into data target ZECC_C01". While creating index also it failed with error message as "Lock NOT set for: Generate index, RSSM_PROCESS_INDEX terminated, because InfoCube/DSO object ZECC_C01 could not be locked".
Please help me in solving this issue.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Bharathi

    Hi,
Manage the data target - ZECC_C01 and check the request number 445315. Also check the subsequent data targets if further loading was erroneous. Check whether the request is green / Properly loaded or not.
You can also use RSBKREQUEST table to check the request and its corresponding data target.
This request is either red or yellow caused this failure.
    Hope this helps.

  • Errors creating indexes on Binary XML Tables

    Hi,
    Oracle details are as follows:
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64bit Production

    Note
    - dynamic sampling used for this statement (level=2)
    - Unoptimized XML construct detected (enable XMLOptimizationCheck for more information)
However, I also need to add an additional field to this index to allow appropriate queries against the data in the table, version number. This field can be seen from the statement above (VERSION) which runs OK and returns the data I’d expect. However, when I attempt to add this index using the following statement I get an error returned and the index becomes corrupted:
    alter index TEST_WQI_idx_1 rebuild
    parameters ('PATHS (INCLUDE ADD
    (/webPolicy/Sections/interopSection[1]/PolicyItems/item/Version))');
After some investigation, the issue seems to revolve around the use of the [1] condition in the statement /interopSection[1]. I can create the index by removing the [1] condition, but this does not return the expected result. In actual fact, as there are 2 interopSection elements in the xml file, both with a version number of 1, the statement returns 11, which would appear to be the two version numbers concatenated together. I need to be able to reference the version number from the first interopSection in the queries against the table, and I need to be able to index this column correctly for performance issues.
I'm unsure why this xpath statement is not working correctly in the alter index statement, but returns ok when used within the query against the table and was wondering if you would be able to help me to have a working index against this element.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide in relation to this.

    Sorry, here is the error:
Error starting at line 20 in command:

Is it Possible? Is this a valid Query?

    null

    Hi Raju,
There are a few things I would change below.
The first is that optimized rectangles (which you are using) need to be specified as lower left then upper right, assuming the lowest values are in the lower left corner of the coordinate system.
The way you've specified them is upper left, lower right which will not work.
The second thing I would change is your create index statement. You shouldn't be using locater to create the index - locator is a separate product should be used only with point geometries.
Your create index statement should look something like this:
    create index zonetemp_sidx on zonetemp(shape)
    indextype is mdsys.spatial_index
    parameters ('sdo_level=NN');
where NN above is an integer number representing the tiling level you are going to use for the index. This is workload dependent, but I will give you a range of 8-12 to start with - you can protype using real data and figure out what gives you the best performance - if it is 12 you may want to go higher.
Also, you will have had to preload user_sdo_geom_metadata.
Finally, your query looks good, although I would change it slightly to set the third ordinate to NULL rather than 0, i.e.:
    SELECT NAME
    FROM ZONETEMP A
    WHERE SDO_FILTER (A.SHAPE,
    MDSYS.SDO_GEOMETRY(2001,null,
    MDSYS.SDO_POINT_TYPE(20,20,NULL),
    NULL, NULL)),'QUERYTYPE='WINDOW')
    ='TRUE'
    Hope this helps,

  • Oracle Error when creating indexes

Help!! I'm getting an error on a spatial create. I read the documents here on this error and I've tried every suggestion.
    1. Plenty of free space in the tablespace indx
    2. Plenty of free space in the temp tablespace
    Does anyone have any ideas??
    Thanx in Advance..

    Hi Frank,
When you specified "sdo_indx_dim" instead of "sdo_indx_dims",
the parser is ignoring the parameter. Since the default
is 2, it still works fine.
    Regarding sdo_rtr_override:
Glad that the workaround helped. This is a non-documented parameter
for R-tree that gives a workaround for any possible bugs that
are introduced as part of new features in new releases. Given
the nature of spatial, there could be some data-specific bugs. In 9.2,
there are some new clustering improvements (internal) and guessing
from the error stack the new one is running out of some stack space
internally due to data outliers (does not occur in all datasets though).
The sdo_rtr_override=0 defaults the behavior of the current operation
(create-index or query) to prior releases (like 9.1). This parameter
allows the users to work uninterrupted while things improve in new
releases. The behavior of this parameter should not be used to compare
performance etc. in different versions though and should be used only
as a workaround. (It is not documented due to these implications
and only recommended when needed by spatial).
Spatial will definitely try to improve on the error messages.
Please file a bug with some sample data or send Oracle
the data at the earliest so that this can be fixed properly.
    - Ravi.

  • InterMedia Error when creating Index

Sorry, the error texts are in French, hopefully someone will help me.
I have checked listner.ora and tnsmanes.ora: they look fine, (however, we have ....KEY=EXTPROC)), not EXTPROC0 as it appears sometimes in the doc) but something must be wrong someplace.
Seems to be related to another question in this forum.
    Thanks for any help.
(actually, when running from sql worksheet, I get a Net8 listener ids not running or cannot start external procedure ??

By running the check script we saw that the cartridge was invalid. We had to reinstall anither instance, now it works.

  • Error creating index

    Hi,
I'm sure this question must have been asked before, but I can't find an answer to it.
When I try to create a spatial index I get the following error:
    CREATE INDEX IDX_ADDR_SPT
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
ORA-13203: failed to read USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA table
ORA-13203: failed to read USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA table
    ORA-06512: at "MDSYS.SDO_INDEX_METHOD", line 8
    ORA-06512: at line 1
I used the following commands to enter data into the meta table and create the index:
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA
    VALUES(
    'MAPDEV.DAT_ADDRESS',
    'MAPDEV.DAT_ADDRESS.GEOPOINT',
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY(
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('X', 529440, 529680, 0.5),
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Y', 181373, 181582, 0.5)
    8274 --SRID
    CREATE INDEX IDX_ADDR_SPT
    ON MAPDEV.DAT_ADDRESS(GEOPOINT)
    INDEXTYPE IS MDSYS.SPATIAL_INDEX
    PARAMETERS('SDO_LEVEL=4 LAYER_GTYPE="POINT" TABLESPACE="IDX"');
I have no idea where I am going wrong, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.
    Steve

if you are not trying to create a function-based index then change your metadata entries:
    INSERT INTO USER_SDO_GEOM_METADATA
    VALUES(
    'DAT_ADDRESS',
    'GEOPOINT',
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ARRAY(
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('X', 529440, 529680, 0.5),
    MDSYS.SDO_DIM_ELEMENT('Y', 181373, 181582, 0.5)),
    8274 --SRID);
    hope this helps,

  • Online help index error w.r.t oracle text

    Hi,
    Error creating online help index.
ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine ORA-20000: Oracle Text error: DRG-10700: preference does not exist: CTXSYS.DEFAULT_LEXER
when i click on help on htmldb and then when i click on find. i get this following error.
how do i fix this error.
    Can someone help me please.
    THanks,
    Philip.

Steps to resolve the domian index creation problem:
Step 1: Ensure the schema CTXSYS does not exist, if exists ignore the execution of “step 2”.
Step 2: Add the below mentioned statement above the existing statement(also mentioned below) in the catctx.sql file which is in the $ORACLE_HOME/ctx/admin" location.
Existing statement : Rem CTXDEF.sql - ctx default object creation
    Statement to be added: grant execute on CTX_DDL to ctxsys ;
In SYS user login, execute the script to create CTXSYS schema and its related objects after confirming below parameters to this script
ctxsys           - password of CTXSYS schema
         SYSAUX     - default tablespace
TEMP           - default temp tablespace (Replace if your database default temporary tablespace is different)
    SQL>@$ORACLE_HOME/ctx/admin/catctx.sql ctxsys SYSAUX TEMP NOLOCK
Step 3: In SYS user login execute the below script to recompile user objects
         SQL>@$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/utlrp.sql
Step 4: In CTXSYS user login, execute the below script to create default preference for language ENGLISH
         SQL>@$ORACLE_HOME/ctx/admin/defaults/drdefus.sql
Step 5 : In SYS User login ,execute the below script to give grant permission
    SQL>grant ctxapp to DBusername identified by Password;
    SQL>grant select on ctxsys.dr$preference to DBusername;
    SQL>grant execute on CTX_DDL to DBusername;
Step 5: Login as DB user and execute the below drop index script if any already exists in same name
         SQL>DROP INDEX LEI_CATALOG_SEARCH_SFIELD
Step 6: Login as DB user and create the below domain index
         SQL>CREATE INDEX LEI_CATALOG_SEARCH_SFIELD ON LET_CATALOG_SEARCH (SEARCH_FIELD) INDEXTYPE IS CTXSYS.CONTEXT;

  • Create index ctxsys.context error

    hello,
I'm trying to set up a text index on oracle 8i and I don't know too much about interMedia. Through SQLPlus i tried:
    create index ix_recordtitle on record(recordtitle) indextype is ctxsys.context;
    and got the error:
    ERROR at line 1:
ORA-29855: error occurred in the execution of ODCIINDEXCREATE routine
    ORA-20000: interMedia Text error:
DRG-50704: Net8 listener is not running or cannot start external procedures
ORA-28575: unable to open RPC connection to external procedure agent
    ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.DRUE", line 126
    ORA-06512: at "CTXSYS.TEXTINDEXMETHODS", line 54
    ORA-06512: at line 1
so my question is, is interMedia a standard package/service that is installed w/ oracle 8i, or does it need to be installed? Or am I missing something else?
thanks in advance for any help,
    -derek

That is, you have to have a listener tthat will listen to IPC, with topic 'extproc'. In tnsnames.ora, it looks much like this:
    LISTENER =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = <my host>)(PORT = 1521))
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = IPC)(KEY = EXTPROC))
    (PROTOCOL_STACK =
    (PRESENTATION = TTC)
    (SESSION = NS)
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = <my sid>)
    # blah-blah
    SID_LIST_LISTENER =
    (SID_LIST =
    # other addresses' blah-blah here
    (SID_DESC =
    (SID_NAME = PLSExtProc)
    (ORACLE_HOME = <oracle home path>)
    (PROGRAM = extproc)
    null
