Help for formatting a number

Hello,
Can someone help me !
I have a JTextField who is bonding with an attribute of a viewObject.
How can I do for formatting the value of the textField to display it as a currency number ?
Please help me.

formatted text fields in Java 1.4 would do this for you. JDeveloper 9.0.4 (supporting formatted text fields) is not out yet, but you can check the JDeveloper10g Preview release on OTN. Here formatted text fields are a native component in JClient.
Anyway, you can use Java 1.4 with JDeveloper 9.0.3 projects, but you will have to manual code the formatted text field usage

Warning! This procedure will destroy all data on your Hard Disk Drive. Be sure you have an up-to-date, tested backup of at least your Users folder and any third party applications you do not want to re-install before attempting this procedure.
• With computer shut down insert install disk in optical drive.
• Hit Power button and immediately after chime hold down the "C" key.
• Select language
• Go to the Utilities menu (Tiger) Installer menu (Panther & earlier) and launch Disk Utility.
• Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in left side bar.
• Select Partition tab in main panel. (You are about to create a single partition volume.)
• _Where available_ +Click on Options button+
+• Select Apple Partition Map (PPC Macs) or GUID Partition Table (Intel Macs)+
+• Click OK+
• Select number of partitions in pull-down menu above Volume diagram.
(Note 1: One partition is normally preferable for an internal HDD.)

• Select Volume Format as Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

• Select Erase tab
• Select the sub-volume (indented) under Manufacturer ID (usually Macintosh HD).
• Check to be sure your Volume Name and Volume Format are correct.

Need help in formatting a number field with same precision for excel output

I am trying to get the same preciision for a field in RTF template when the output is in EXCEL
i.e. same number of digits after decimal. So, I would like to show 150 as 150.00 and 123.2 as 123.20 etc !! Is there a way to do it. the Built in formatting will not display 150.00 for 150 . but if i add $ symbol it will display. But i dont need $ syambol. please help.

I found this on one of the forum questions.
Excel dont preserve the trailing zeros.
try opening the xcel and type 5.0000 and tab out, it wont preserve the trailing zeros after decimal.
try finding out how to disable the option in excel. if you do that, you will see what you send out from the report.
But you can try to convert the number into a text by trying to append a space at the beginning. See if that would work.

Need help with formatting a number

hi all,
the problem i am having has been a hot topic over time in java. i have an integer say 123. i want to convert this to a string of 10 characters. how do i pad the first seven spaces with blanks. ex. " 123" in c++ you can use sprintf. how do i do this in java. i have seen mention of NumberFormat but being new to java cannot figure this class out. any helpful code would be much appreciated.

That would certainly works but it is not the most efficent method to achive the goal since it discards String objects left right and center (especially if you want more than 10 padding spaces)

Search help for Kunnr ( Customer Number )

I have created select option with data element/field - KUNNR.
But when i do an f4 help ..it prompts me for an search help but when i do enter..
it does not give me kunnr values..it gives me the following error message:
Select exactly one row in the value list to copy the value

Need help for formatting issues

Can there be help for formatted Ipod using windows by mistake?

I recently reformatted using windows by mistake. I read through this board and tried the putting Ipod in disc mode, opened Ipod updater, attached Ipod when prompted and reformatted. It would start to reset to factory settings then stop and give a write to disc failure notification. I have the 30 gig Ipod (video). Please help!!

Is there a way to dynamically store special characters(eg. new line character) into a text field? This is because, the data is inserted into the DB from a textbox where the user divides the text into several lines but when it is viewed, it is just a single string of text

Generally speaking, you can store any characters in a plain ASCII string if you properly encode them. If you have Oracle Web Server look at URL_ENCODE procedure, it's probably not exactly what you need, but it gives you an idea.

Creating a search help for a field in selection screen

Hi All,
There are 3 fields in the selection screen. They are
    WERKS
    DATE
    MATNR
Enter a value WERKS = 2465.
When I press the drop down menu for MATNR, it should only give the material number available for 2465.
I think, I should create a search help for it.
Kindly help me to create a search help for the material number based on the above condition.

Format a number

Hi,
I need some help with formating a number.
I am having a string object of format '00000' and i want to have it formatted to '000.00'
Is there a way i can change it to double by specifying the format?
Let me know if there is any way i can do it using Number format or Decimal format?

Does this String come in any other flavors? Is it to represent currency? Myself, if this were currency, I'd read it in as an int and even save it and manipulate it as an int. Then when I wanted to display it, I'd divide by 100.00 and use a either a NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance if it's currency, or else a DecimalFormat if not.

Append search help for MATNR

Help with formatting for Cross Tab Report Crystal 2008

This is probably a simple question. I have a cross tab report that displays sales by month for a period of 6 months. These sales columns are formatted to be numbers with no decimals. In addition to these columns, I have inserted columns that display the percentage up/down in sales over the previous month. If I try to format the percentage columns, it changes every column to then display "##,##.##%" when I need to keep the sales columns at "##,###" with no decimal or percentage sign.
1. Is there a way to change the formatting of some of the columns but not all in a cross tab report?
2. If not, can I add a function that would change these in the calculation formula of the calculated member?
I tried to add "%" but it wants it to return a number.
Here is the current code:

Thank you for your help. I did try your method but still couldn't get it to ignore the fact that it wanted a number. I changed my approach a litte and managed to solve the problem. Here is the method that I chose which managed to solve the problem. If this is a poor way to solve it, please let me know as I am always open for new ways.
Format Field > Number Tab > Customize > Currency Symbol Tab
Checked Enable Currency Symbol Fixed, changed currency symbol to %. This is the same thing that I did before which changes it for all columns.
Beside Enable Currency checkbox, I added this formula:

// crNoCurrencySymbol
// crFixedCurrencySymbol
// crFloatingCurrencySymbol

My added columns have a null date field so they take the currency format. My other columns do not so they do not take the formatting.

How do I fix the format of plot lines for an arbitrary number of sets of data plotted on the same x-y graph?

I have written a VI to control an LCR meter and perform sweep functions. I have two x-y graphs on my front panel (one for each of 2 measured parameters). The VI is designed with a button to take a measurement, plot the data, and then wait for another event (like write data, clear plot, or measure again). The user can take simultaneous measurements and these are plotted on top of the data already there in the same x-y graphs (using an array of clusters with shift registers). There is no limit on how many sets of data can be on the x-y graph.
Now, my issue is in formatting the plot lines (color, thickness, marker type). I can fix the first plot line by adjusting the parameters of the x-y graph. However, I also want to control the format of all consecutive plot lines. How can I do this for an arbitrary number of lines? The main thing I want to do is to have all of them show the square marker type (the default is no marker type, just a line).

You can use properties of plot to format the plot lines. You just have to select Active plot using property and then select color and line width etc..
You can define color and width etc parameter by asking user or you can just make them default.
