  • Asking help for jsp, servlet, sql, web application, web service....

    i want to increase a new function in existing web site, just like let customer leave their comment for our product and collect it back to company, after modify or delete these no good one, then post it on to the website....i am a beginner,,,, wish any kind ppls can leave some comment for me...thanks a lot

    Since you are a beginner, I'd advice you to take a
    look at Marty Hall's website
    http://www.coreservlets.com/. You can download the
    first edition of his book "core servlets and Java
    Server Pages" in pdf format. I like Marty Hall's books too, but I prefer Hans Bergsten's JSP book as a starter.
    Try to find something about the MVC or Model View
    Controller design pattern. This may seem like
    overkill for small web apps, but as soon as you're
    trying to add some functionality (as you want to do),
    you'll see that you gain time using the MVC.
    For this, I strongly recommend the "Apache Tomcat
    Bible" from Eaves, Jones and Godfrey.
    It explains how to install Java SDK, MySQL, Ant,
    Eclipse, Tomcat.Personally, I think all this is beyond the OP. He said he was a beginner. If that means he hasn't even written "Hello, World" or compiled a single Java program, I'd say that all this stuff about Tomcat, Ant, Eclipse, serlvets, and JSPs is well beyond him. I'd discourage anyone from taking on a project like this as their introduction to Java. I'd warn his client against spending their money to buy code from a neophyte. There are plenty of talented people out there who need the work and can do the job without having to climb that learning mountain.
    If I've misread the situation, I apologize. No insult intended. Just be realistic in assessing your ability and the difficulty of the project.

  • JSP Plugin tag for applets with codebase - WLS 6.1 sp2

              Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
              I have the following Plugin tag in my JSP.
              <jsp:plugin type="applet"
              code="com.xxx.efm.frontend.view.EFMApplet"
              codebase="/lib"
              archive="applets/EFMFrontend.jar, EfmCommon.jar, TrimmedWeblogic.jar, dom4j-full.jar,

              the page

              a "Plugin not loaded" dialog.
              All this is fine except that the dialog says it can retrieve the plugin from "/lib".
              When I click on
              "Get the plugin" button the new browser window tries to load the URL: http://localhost:2002/lib/?application/x-java-applet;version=1.3.
              It totally ignores the netscape URL for plugin. Something similar happens with
              IE as well.

              my applets). Yeah, I can append a "/lib" to each of

  • Pls help!  Lomboz JSP Plugin...

    Hi, I have SAP NetWeaver Develper Studio(~Eclipse 2.1) and am trying to install LomBoz plugin for JSP's (Do I really need it?).  There is a section where I have to define server Definitions because Tomcat 5.0 is not listed in the Lomboz plugin folder.
    (link:http://www.objectlearn.com/support/docs/installation/install.jsp) and I would like some help on them:
    <b>1.)</b> Application Server Directory: C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Tomcat 5.0
    Am I right?
    <b>2.)</b> Address: I put in my computer's IP address like: 123.28.333.28   Am I right?
    <b>3.)</b> Port: 8080  I think I am correct?
    <b>4.)</b> Classpath Variable Name:  ?  I never created any classpath for Tomcat, what is it?
    <b>5.)</b> Classpath Variable:  This is suppose to be something like: /your_server_root/JBoss-2.8_Jetty.  So what is mine?
    Thanks so much,
    Baggett.

    Hi,
    Why are you using Lomboz ? If You are just using the JSP editor, you do not have to edit any of these parameters.
    If you would like to use Lomboz to create WebApplications on other J2EE environments You should not use the SAP Development Enviroment as this is based on Eclipse 2.0 (too old for Lomboz). Go for Eclipse 3.0.
    Best Regards
    Frank

    just a random guess...
    I had a ton of issues with JBoss and jfreechart. JBoss uses a different classloader, and its internal versions of the jfreechart classes will be loaded before yours, causing all sorts of issues. Dig through the jboss directories and you'll find a different, older version of jfreechart of one of its classes. Remove them and you'll be in better shape.
    Alternatively, look around the JBoss docs for how to disable/turn off the unified classloader for your app (its a directive in jboss-web.xml IIRC). This should make the classloader for your webapp perform to spec, getting rid of the class colission issues.

    Hi,
    I agree, the basic documentation at the jakarta site is good, but needs a little polishing/updating.
    Use google to do a search, and wade through loads of stuff before coming up with the answers, or this site is pretty good too!!!!!
    Unfortunately, all the answers are not always forthcoming until you know which questions to ask (or the relevant words to enter into a search engine).

  • JSP plugin call for applet

    How do I call an applet with the JSP plugin call? The applet works OK when called from an HTML file. However, when called from a JSP file, the applet is not found.
    Here's the code:
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="SelectList.class" codebase="applet"
    archive="bc4jhtml.jar,datatags.jar,uixtags.jar,bc4juixtags.jar,ojsp.jar,ojsputil.jar,oc4j.jar,servlet.jar,ojc.jar,xmlparserv2.jar,regexp.jar,share.jar,uix2.jar,xmlcomp.jar,jdevrt.jar,runtime12.jar,bc4jmt.jar,collections.jar,bc4jct.jar,jndi.jar,classes12.jar,nls_charset12.jar,bc4jimdomains.jar,ordim.jar,ordhttp.jar,jdevcm.jar,bc4jdomorcl.jar,bc4jdatum.jar,activation.jar,jcert.jar,jnet.jar,jta.jar,mail.jar,ejb.jar,jaxp.jar,jdbc.jar,jaas.jar,jsse.jar,bc4jui.jar,bigraphbean.jar,LW_PfjBean.jar"
    jreversion="1.2" width="1000" height="360" >
    <jsp:params>
    <jsp:param name="test" value="This is a test." />
    </jsp:params>
    <jsp:fallback>
    You need to install the Java plugin on your web browser to run this applet.
    </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>

    You really don't need to put all the jar files in your archive list.
    Most likely, you just need to put the jar that contains the applet.
    And, few more dependencies jar files.
    Here is some sample code for your reference:
    <jsp:plugin type="applet" code="Clock2.class" codebase="applet" jreversion="1.2"
    width="160" height="150" >
    <jsp:fallback>
    Plugin tag OBJECT or EMBED not supported by browser.
    </jsp:fallback>
    </jsp:plugin>
    code attribute points to a class file "Clock2.class"
    under the directory under codebase attribute "applet"
    You may want to take a look into the HTML / JSP document about
    how the plugin tag works in HTML / JSP.

  • Help creating Proxy Plugin for an Ad SWC

    I'm trying to create a plugin for an ad component, where ad video playback is all handled in a SWC.
    I took the OSMSPlayer example, and modifed the constructor to load my plugin using the players factory object, and once loaded, I continue with the player setup and configuration.  There doesn't seem to be a problem here, everything loads fine.
    I then proceeded to create a proxy plugin.
    Within ProxyElement, when set proxyElement is called, I create a SerialElement, and add the passed mediaElement as the first child of the SerialElement.
    I then add a loadTrait to the proxyElement, and listen for the LoadEvent.LOAD_STATE_CHANGE event.  When this is fired, I insert a MediaElement (preroll), which has a PlayTrait, DisplayTrait, TimeTrait and AudioTrait, as the first child of the proxied serialElement, and call play.  The preroll video plays fine, i hear audio and see the time updates in the player, but the video is not visible.  If I then pause the video, it suddenly appears, and is visible for the remainder of the clip.  Once the preroll is complete, the orginal mediaElement plays fine.
    I followed the MASTPlugin example, as I am trying to do something similar, except my video playback is handled via a SWC (added to the DisplayTrait).  If I just insert a plain VideoElement as the preroll and load a flv it plays fine, so its something specific to my MediaElement impl, but I can't figure out why it doesn't display until I hit pause.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated, I've already burned hours trying to figure this out.
    Also, looking at the use case chart below, I probably actually need to create a reference plugin.  Does anyone have an example of a reference plugin?
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/OSMF/1.0/Dev/WSc6f922f643dd2e6d-12f30d7b1262b59cb0d- 7ffe.html

    The behavior you're describing sounds like a bug -- if you can post a small, self-contained example that reproduces the problem, that would be
    very helpful.
    You might also want to look at DurationElement and SWFElement.  When you wrap the latter in the former, you can display a SWF but augment it with the ability to play, pause, have a duration, and seek.  The ExamplePlayer sample app has at least one example showing how to use this (I think it's called "Timed Image" and uses ImageElement rather than SWFElement, but the approach is the same).
    As for reference plugins, the ControlBarPluginSample (+ ControlBarPlugin) is a good example of a reference plugin.  This sample shows how you can load and display the player chrome dynamically from a plugin.
