Help fron network expert needed

Hello all,
we are a small office that can't afford its own IT department and I am therefore seeking help here.
I installed Lion Server on a MacMini to run a shared Wiki calendar, and all is quite well, I got the Wiki calendar page up and running and the iCal clients have successfully subscribed to it.
The problem: external users can'tl log in from the internet.
On our LAN they can reach the Wiki Home page at http://10.x.y.z/wiki but how do they log in from the internet ?
We have a DynDNS host name, but http://ourserver.dyndns.org:8080/wiki brings up an empty page.
I forwarded port 8080 to our server.
I did checkip -checkhostname and it looked alright to me. The server has a FQDN ourserver.name.private. that points to 10.x.y.z and the reverse lookup points to the server name.
I would be very grateful if someone could point me to the mistake I obviously make.

We also run a number of Axis webcams and a Synology server and with both of them I can connect from *inside* our LAN to a webcam or to the Synology server using the dyndns.org hostname and the proper port number.
Some routers do not allow for that but our Cisco does.
We only use the routers firewall, the server's software firewall is off.
I tried using our IP to connect to http://ourip:8080/wiki and Safari opens an *empty* page, no error message.
The same happens when I use http://10.x.y.z.:8080/wiki
Using http://10.x.y.z/wiki works.
Do you know the correct URL to log-on to a Wiki page ? Is http://name.server.com:port/wiki correct ?

MS 2008R2 networking issue? Need MS network expert to advise on virtual IP address vs IP address on mirror servers

I am not a network engineer or MS network expert, but have spent many hours researching docs and sites without a clear reason to explain
the situation.
I have a client with 2x 2008R2 mirror servers. When the app fails, the primary server switches to secondary server as usual; however a connecting Unix application (on another segment) somehow cannot see the Virtual IP at that point and the situation is disastrous.
The IP (v4) for server A is x.x.x.10 and server B is x.x.x.11 whereas the VIP is x.x.x.99.
Reading hordes of MS related docs it seems the answer is to avoid having the the VIP larger that the server IP addresses, meaning the VIP be x.x.x.9 or smaller. The Unix application now connects successfully as the failover on the MS servers flip-flops.
Is this due to RFC 3484, Default Address Selection for IPv6 (February 2003) rules being imposed on ip4 as implemented? If so which rule and can you explain is digestible manner?
Or OTOH this is a MS default of take the smallest IP number bound to the card as the primary outbound address (this I understand is how it was pre 2008R2)
Or is there something else I have missed?
Most importantly, anyone know the Microsoft kb issue reference?

Regarding to the description, I suggest you move the Unix application (on another segment) to the same segment as the mirror servers'. It will avoid some factors from middle devices. As you have the issue only on the Unix application.
If we need to know why the failover is not working well when apps fails. We could gather the netmon traces between the servers to verify which one reject the request.

WRT54GS network assistance needed! Help!

I really need some help understanding network terms. I just setup my WRT54GS using tips I collected from these forums. I changed the IP address to 192.168.2.1 and cloned the MAC address to my PC. My main PC has my DSL modem>WRT54>PC LAN which connects perfectly to the internet. This is where my problems/network understanding starts. I have SSID name and WEP security setup using the router. Other than internet none of my other 2 computers wireless (Laptop& a HTPC) are recognized for file/printer sharing amongst the entire group. All computers have file/printer sharing enabled. I have run the network setup wizards on the PC many times and named it differently each time for ID purposes. I enabled security on some and left others disabled, but no where on the PC can I find where these networks exist. In addition when I turn on my laptop I
find most of the networks I created as available connections. My main PC doesn’t see my linksys nor will find my HP Ethernet printer connected to the WRT54. Please help!

Disable all the firewalls on the computer even the windows firewalls and make sure that the workgruop is same for all the computers.

Could not find network adapter needed for registration

Cisco IP Communicator has worked well for a month now. One morning I go to launch the app and I get the error message: Could not find network adapter needed for registration. I rebooted my pc and I got the same result. I reinstalled the app and got the same results. I don't know what if anything changed, but I know I can't even get the application to load to look at any settings. PLEASE HELP!!!

Portege R700 PT311A - Network Adapter needs to be installed

My Toshiba Portg R700 (PT311A-06600Q) will not connect to the internet.
It says that a Network Adapter needs to be installed and configured, but I do not have the disc to do this, nor do I have an internet connection on my laptop to download the driver.
I have attempted to download the driver onto a USB, using another laptop, then using that USB, I have tried to install it onto the problem computer, but it won't install.
There is no Windows installed on the problem computer, may this be an issue as to why the driver won't install?
Help me, please!

I hope you picked up the right driver.
Not quite sure if you are talking about LAN driver or WLan driver and what Windows system you are using but fact is that all drivers for this unit can be found here:

I would recommend you to check once again if you downloaded the proper driver. Then move the driver package to the notebook (desktop). Unzip the package and execute the setup or install exe file.
In case you would not find any exe files in the package, I would recommend you to install the driver within the device manager.

Sir, your Apple ID can be used as an iCloud account as well. They are both the same thing.

What version of iPhoto are you using? How do you plan to view the slideshow at the wedding reception, on a TV screen? If so then you will need to send the slideshow to iDVD and burn a disk from there.
If you're in iPhoto 11 and the slideshow was created in the slideshow mode and not from an album, then go to the Share menu and select iDVD. That will create a QT movie of the slideshow and import it into iDVD.
In iDVD select your theme and setup the menu as you'd like. If you want the movie to begin plahying immediately when the disk is inserted into the DVD player go into the Gallery mode and drag the movie into the Autostart bin at the left.

If you want the movie to loop continuously go to the Advanced menu and select Loop.

When you're finished setting upb the iDVD project save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image menu option. This will allow you to check it with DVD Player before tryingto burn to disk. Mount the disk imnage by double clicking on it and launch DVD Player and play. If the movie plays as you want and everything is good you can burn to disk with Disk Utility at the slowest speed available to assure the best burn quality. Always use top quality media: Verbatium, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
