Help!How to analyse a String?

I got text in Strings and i want to know if each word are a "date", a "int", "currency",etc...
So i want to know if Java gots methods to determine the type of each words of my strings.
In another words, i just want to know if i can do something like:
String str = "1234";
boolean bool = str.isInt();
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi! Here's how you can implement some methods of your own. The following methods checks if the given string represents an integer.
boolean isInteger( String s )
   int i;
   boolean fReturn = true;
   try
      i = Integer.parseInt( s );
   catch( NumberFormatException x )
      fReturn = false;
   return fReturn;
}For doubles and floats, use the Double.parseDouble() and Float.parseFloat() methods.
To check if a string represents a date, look at Q.120 in the Question of the Week archives. I've illustrated how to use the java.text.SimpleDateFormat class to convert from the string format to a date format. In this case, you'll have to check for ParseException if the string does not represent a date.

At first I thought it could be done with a formula in a custom field, and it probably could, but the formula would be unwieldy. Therefore I developed this little macro to do the job.

In your post you ask how to convert a string value to a date. The value returned from the Get-AdUser is already a date. It does not need to be converted.
Bill has sshown one way to convert a date to a string and there are other methods. You need to clarify your question.
If you are really trying ot convert strings to dates then you can start with this:
[datetime]'01/21/1965 13:33:23'
Most date strings aer autodetected by the class.

How to convert a String to an Icon

Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to convert a String (specifically one letter) to an Icon for a JTree. The program I am working on uses .png files for the icons at the moment, with each .png being a single uppercase letter. However, recent discussion has us wanting to change to something more dynamic, since we anticipate needing new letters in the near future.
My task is to modify the current codebase so that the Icons used to identify nodes in the tree are created from a Font within code, rather than reading in .png files. I have done some experimenting with creating a Label with just that String, setting the font and trying to extract the image using calls like createImage(int width, int height) and so on, but so far to no avail.
If I could figure out how to at least convert the String to an image, I could probably make it work (since I can play around with creating an ImageIcon with that image). Thanks in advance for any help.

}One thing that could be improved is the vertical positioning of the letter in the Icon.
The x,y values passed into paintIcon are the upper-left hand corner of the icon,
but the y value needed by drawString is the position of the String's baseline.
To do it right, use one of Font's getLineMetrics methods and play around with ascent.

How to Split the string using Substr and instr using loop condition

I have below requirement.
I need to split the string and append with single quotes('') followed by , (comma) and reassign entire values into another variable. so that i can use it where clause of update statement
for example I am reciveing value as follows
ALN varchar2(2000):=(12ERE-3MT-4Y,4IT-5O-SD,OP-K5-456,P04-SFS9-098,90P-SSF-334,3434-KJ4-O28,AS3-SFS0-J33,989-3KL-3434);
Note: In the above variable i see 8 transactions, where as in real scenario i donot how many transaction i may recive.
after modification i need above transactions should in below format
ALTR Varchar2(2000):=('12ERE-3MT-4Y','4IT-5O-SD','OP-K5-456','P04-SFS9-098','90P-SSF-334','3434-KJ4-O28','AS3-SFS0-J33','989-3KL-3434');
kindly help how to use substr and instr in normal loop or for loop or while loop while modifying the above transactions.

check for given wp no... and pid no..job is running or waiting or not

2)in sm66 you can see only the central instance job running in
3)You cant find any application server in it

Do you know how to insert some strings in a query with the clausule 'in' in a procedure (with a variable)?.
I tell us my problem with an example:
I want to use this select but introducing a variable instead the 'value1', 'value2':
select * from table1 where field1 in ('value1', 'value2');
if I declare the variable var1 as:
TC_VAR1 CONSTANT VARCHAR2(50) := '''value1'',''value2'''
and I use it as:
select * from table1 where field1 in (TC_VAR1);
It doesn't work because Oracle takes TC_VAR1 as an all string. I think Oracle takes it as this:
select * from table1 where field1 in ('value1, value2');
If I use the data type TABLE, I don't know how to use well:
TYPE varchar2_table IS TABLE OF VARCHAR2(10);
tb_var varchar2_table;
select * from table1 where field1 in (tb_var);->It returns an error and there ins't an method that it returns all values.
A curious case is that if I have a sql script (for example script1.sh) with this query:
select * fromt able1 where field1 in (&1)
and I invoke this script as
script1.sh "'''value1'',''value2'''". It works

I have developped a stateles senterprise java bean name converter and deloyed it in the j2ee1.4 application server on the host machine A. The converterbean provides the remote home interface and remote interface. At the same time I have developped the j2ee application client named convertappclient. When I access the conveter bean at host computer A through the script 'appclient.bat' as 'appclient -client convertappclient.jar', the client can access the bean sucessfully. Now I want to access the bean through the script 'appclient.bat' at host computer B,what files should I copy from host computer A to host computer B;and what the command line should be like? Thanks!

Applescript help - how do I autotype?

Hi All!
I'm a new to this and didn't find any examples on this site so I may be looking at a dead end. Please forgive my basic questions.
Basically I am trying to log into a web site automatically. I thought I found the answer with autotype but even with the syntax matching the examples I have found, applescript see auto type as a variable. Is my syntax messed up, or is autotype not supported? If it is not supported can someone give me an example of how to log into the below website?

There's no such AppleScript command as "autotype", but you can type automatically using the invisible System Events application. It's not altogether reliable, but in this case it appears to work reasonably well:

You will need to ensure that "Enable access for assistive devices" is checked in System Preferences: Universal Access".
Couple of points: you have to move from field to field in the form. Just typing another word wouldn't have helped. Similarly, typing the string "return" would have typed just that.
(FWIW I'd also point out that it's incredibly insecure practice to hard-code user names and passwords into scripts, but it's entirely up to you...)

Just use String Subset to pull out parts you need. For voltage, you will want index to be 2 with a length of 4. You can then do the conversion however you need to.
