HELP - Hubby ready to kill me
Is it possible to un-delete a contact in iCloud? I deleted contacts on my iPhone and forgot it was synching to the iCloud and ended up deleting hubby's contacts.
Welcome to the Apple Community.
You may be able to restore the contacts, do you have a back up and if so where. There is no undelete unfortunately.
You can avoid this by using your own iCloud accounts, it's not a good idea to share an iCloud account unless you have a good reason to.

Let's start with the support page for your computer.
You're going to want the update for the Pioneer firmware. The version of firmware they have here is 1.10 and you're running 1.00.

Please Help! Ready to throw my iPhone out the window!
First time posting on the forums but it's gotten to the point where my phone isn't even usable and I either need some answers or a good excuse to smash it.
So here's the story:
I got my iPhone 3G (black, 16GB) in September (I think), last year. The phone operated fine with only minor annoyances as software updates came down to fix issues, no big deal. About 10 months in, the phone starts acting up:
If you want clarification on some problem, ask. I don’t want to type out 8 paragraphs if I don’t have to, should be pretty self-explanatory.
Before OS 3:
1.) Can’t slide to answer calls. After ringing stops phone behaves normally.
2.) Doesn’t charge from wall or computer (happened randomly). Plug phone in, it says it’s charging but never charges.
3.) Can’t end calls / call doesn’t end when other line is hung up (thanks for wasting my minutes).
(these problems persist even with hard resets and full restores, including setting the phone up as a new phone rather than restoring from a backup)
After OS 3 AND full restore:

At any rate, I was home one weekend and figured I’d take the phone to the Genius bar at the Mayfair Mall Apple Store. Sounded like a good plan until I get to the mall and find the store is being renovated (seriously Apple, you can’t just put that on your site that a store is closed for some reason? Give me a break). Home is 3 hours away for me and the closest Apple store is 2.5 hours away. Awesome.
I deal with the problems for another month or so until my girlfriend and I take a trip to visit her friend in Minnesota. While there we go to the Mall of America so I decide to go to the Apple Store there (which is flappin’ giant, by the way). I explain my problems to the ‘Genius’ as well as informing him of the numerous restores/resets I’ve done both before and after the 3.0 update. He checks the phone for water damage and concludes that the headphone/dock ports are dusty which is causing the charging problem. I proceed to tell him I’ve cleaned them with compressed air before and the problems continued but he’s the ‘Genius’ so I let him do his thing and clean them again. Afterwards, he concludes (via the iPhone diagnostic software they have) that since I haven’t done a restore in about a month that I should do another one as that will likely remedy the problem. Right. Was he even listening when I explained that the problems happened before and after the 3.0 update or that I had on numerous occasions attempted to remedy the problem with hard resets and restores? Nope. My girlfriend over hears this (she is aware of the problems I was having and is a Apple-certified hardware technician at our local Mac store) and comes over to reiterate (albeit slightly more forcefully than I had initially) that the problems occur regardless of restore state or software version. The ‘Genius’ finally decides he can replace the phone after explaining to him that we are not anywhere near an Apple store and that there’s little time left in the warranty. I get my new phone set up and ready to go. Whew.
Everything is great. Phone works, no issues. Until ~2 months ago, new issues start cropping up.
OS 3.1+ (happen on all versions):
1.) Can’t sync, get “unable to complete. Phone was disconnected.” Error. (I checked around the forums and tried a few things but was unable to resolve the issue, including trying to remove the files that it kept ‘disconnecting’ on when it got to, no effect)
2.) Installing an application (be it via App Store on the phone or via sync with my desktop) results in the phone being unable to boot if turned off. When attempting to turn it back on, Apple logo shows then phone goes off after a few seconds. Only way to resolve this is by booting the phone directly to restore mode and doing a full restore.
3.) Earlier this week, my phone wouldn’t boot after having no apps (0, zero, zip, nada) on it after restoring it a few weeks back. Apple logo showed up then the spinning loading animation overlaid on the logo only to freeze. Attempted booting again and it came on (whew).
4.) Today, my phone wouldn’t boot at all, again, no apps are on or have been on the phone since I last restored it. Tried turning it off/on a few times, no good. I ended up restoring the phone again.
At first, my girlfriend was convinced that it was because I was synching with my desktop PC (obviously, blame it on the PC first), which I’ve been using since I got the phone and everything was fine until both phones randomly decided to crap out. I ended up restoring it on my MacBook Pro as a new phone just to see but the same thing happens with the apps causing it to not boot. After that we thought that it might be a single (or a few) apps that were just taking the phone down for some reason. I restored the phone with no apps and it seemed to be ok so I put 3 apps that I’ve had pretty much since they were available (and used to work without issue) back on to see. The plan was to add a few apps until the phone stopped working properly to narrow down the offending app. Just kidding! Just having those 3 apps (Beejive IM, Facebook, iDracula) causes the phone to not boot. I restore and try just Facebook. Same thing, phone doesn’t boot. Restore, try just Beejive. Same thing, phone won’t boot. By the way, the phone doesn’t boot even without me having LAUNCHED THE APPS AT ALL. Just by being on my phone it’s totally hosed.
At this point I have no idea what to do. I want to like my iPhone again but it’s terribly worthless when I have to restore it every other day and can’t use my ~$90 worth of apps (PS: even Apple’s own ‘Remote’ app brings the phone down). I really, really hate to say it but my old HTC Hermes (Windows Mobile 5/6) PDA phone was better than this (and WinMo is god-awful).
Does anyone have any suggestions? My phone is out of warranty now and I don’t have money to buy another phone even if I wanted to.
Also, I treat my phone like a baby. It hasn't been dropped a single time, been near water, or operated outside of the safe operating temp guidlines.
I'm willing to elaborate on any of the information I provided above, just let me know.

If so it is possible you have an app that doesn't let go of memory properly. I reboot my iPhone ( hold sleep/wake and hole till you see the apple logo) every few days. This resets the memory. The iPhone OS has doesn't seem to mange memory very well yet. So a reboot will help with that. I have had my phone almost slow to a stop before I started rebooting. Always reboot after installing a new app. Also do you close all pages in Safari when you are done? This is a good practice. Safari will run in the background and use processor time and drain your battery quicker. Create a new blank page then close all others when you are done browsing for a while. I have also found that certain web site that have animated images like weather maps will turn the phone into molasses. As soon as i close that page it gets faster.
If all of the above have no effect then as Tamara said it is time for a trip to the Genius bar.

HELP my husband has killed my iPhone.
My husband decided to update my iphone 3G this morning and killed it. It will not turn on. He has had it on the charger for a few hours and it is very, very hot. After reading some posts, I tried to go down the itunes recovery track but I can't get itunes to see the phone. I would love a magic button to fix everything. Can anyone help please?
Try holding both the home button and the power button for about 15-20 seconds and the apple logo should appear.
If it doesn't bring it into and Apple store for evaluation.

Please Help. Safari is Killing Me. Thank You in Advance!
Hi there!
I have a MacBookPro 2.33GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB, 667 MHz, DDR2, SDRAM. I'm running OS 10.5.8 and Safari 4.0.4 (5531.21.10).
I've had this computer for a couple of years now and everything has been great with it. However, lately, my Safari is constantly crashing at random times. I might be in the middle of a post like this (and I'm actually hitting Option A then Option C as I go along to make sure I don't need to start from scratch if Safari crashes) and then all of the sudden, Safari closes and I get the Report a Problem window. It is extremely frustrating. I also am running Parallels, but Safari crashes independent of whether or not that application has been running. Other than that, I don't have a lot of extra 3rd party software loaded on other than the basics that most other people would have. I also tend to have a lot of windows opened up at once, however that was never a problem in the past and it has also happened with just a few windows open at a time. I also have an iPhone that I synch to it, but I am almost certain that has nothing to do with it.
I've looked all over the web and found a ton of people with this problem and a bunch of various "answers" to it, many of which don't appear to work. I don't want to start tinkering with my system unless I have a reasonable answer as to how to best solve the problem without causing me more headaches in the future. It would be nice if Apple had a page that was devoted to solving this problem as it appears to be common enough to warrant such a page.
I read in another discussion on here where someone felt it had to do with Adobe's Flash Player and the response back to the customer was basically, "We're not Adobe so we can't help you." And while that may be the case and if Adobe's product is the cause, then because Adobe is so huge in the online world, Apple and Adobe should be working together to solve this issue as Apple is the one that gets the worst of this by having their product be the one that crashes in the eyes of the end user.
It would also be outstanding if when a customer takes the time to send in a "Report a Problem" comment to Apple, if Apple would set up a system to review the incoming comment and then send a response back to the customer suggesting how they solve the issue... especially on an item like this where it is recurring on a consistent basis.
In any event, I'd REALLY appreciate it if someone could take the time out of his/her busy day to try and address how I should go about trying to solve this problem. I'll include my logs below:

Your problems do seem to be connected to your Flash Player, which may be out of date.
The latest version of Adobe FlashPlayer can be obtained from here:

(You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS.
You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe. -
Help, 10.3.1 killed my Q10 SQN100-3.
Some background, my Q10 never played well with any of the leaked 10.3.1 so I always ended up rolling back to the official release but I figured that since this was official OTA they might have fixed the issues.
As with the leaks I installed, the official OTA OS made the phone lag terribly. The camera would give me an overheat warning and refuse to turn on. The signal reception was terrible. Basically the phone would throw a tantrum and stutter between apps and actions. I ran out of battery at 2pm this afternoon due to the indexing with the new OS and all. Got home at 3pm and plugged in. Now its been 5 hours charging and the phone is cycling between a red LED, the Blackberry logo, and an empty red battery icon.
I tried hooking it up to Link to roll back to 10.2.1 as I used to do when I tried the leaks but it supposedly reloads the OS just unitl before the reboot stage. At that point, Link declares the reload a success while the phone dies and starts the vicious cycle again. So I'm stuck with a perpetually cycling phone trying and failing to start up. If I unplug it, the phone just dies. When I plug back in, the cycle starts again. Would any of you have suggestions what I can do? Thanks in advance.Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I would recommend you load your desired OS level via an AutoLoader:

The method is more "forceful" than that done via LINK, and can sometimes cure corruptions that LINK otherwise may leave in place.

Multicam clips de-synch - Ready to kill
Okay. I have done this work 3 times now. Synched 2 cameras in a multicam clip.
However I have 2 problems.
1: When I select and move 2 angles the synch is not retained.
2: When I embed the multicam clip in a project or make a compound clip out of the mc clip, some sequences have no sound even though I have selected the proper audio track and ensured that that track is on inside the multicam clip.

Then you could set MPEG Streamclip to take it to 1920 x 1080 Pro Res, and test with that in FCPX. The 1440 x 1080 is a convenience for file size, and in realty is meant to provide 1920 x 1080. See:

I can only guess that the multiclip routines might not be liking the 1440 x 1080, even though FCPX will play it. I believe that if you were capturing direct, FCPX would change to the full raster 1920 x 1080, but cannot do that with the file you have provided it. Just a guess.

I hold the Apple Id, I just bought iPhone 5 for the hubby, I have set his phone to recieve emails, messages using send receive in imessage settings,so he will not receive all mine, But when I buy apps or update them he gets a message sent to his phone making him aware of this, How do I stop this from happening, My phone is also the iPhone 5
you need separate Apple IDs and separate imessage accounts.
1. Either uncheck the email address shown under "You can be reached by iMessage at" on both phones; or
2. If you want to continue to receive iMessages at this email address on one of your phones, on the other phone tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, then sign back in using a different Apple ID (so both phones will be using a different Apple ID for iMessage). Note: you can continue to share an Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and App stores. It does not need to be the same as the ID you are using for iMessage, FaceTime and other services.

Need help getting ready for print
I am running Photoshop CS5 on a Mac 10.8.4.
I have basic photoshop experience.
My designer has left me in the lurch at a daedline and I need to get some material to the printer ASAP.
The design is finished.
The printer wants all the text outlined and the images embedded then a "high quality PDF" submitted to print.
Please can someone tell me how to outline text and imbed images. (I know how to savw to PDF).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Type > Convert to Shape
to make the text layer a layer with a vector mask.
As for embedding images if you create the pdf in Photoshop I don’t see the relevance of the request.
But the settings you choose for Compression and Output are relevant factors.
Which Color Space does the printer request? (And please don’t say CMYK …)
What is the Color Space and Color Mode of the file you work on? -

There are two ways. Here's how to get what you want: got to your twitter profile and under all the people you're following on the right, where it says something about an rss feed click that link. BUT!!! before you do hold down command (Apple key) and shift and keep holding them down as you click it. A screen should flash up, but only for a second , at that time, while holding down Command and shift press 3 (the one above the letters) this takes a screenshot. Go to your desktop and find "Picture 1" Open it and look at the URL. Now open iWeb and go to you're RSS widget type in the URL and then custimize as you'd like.

Help - 10.4.11 killed my email server!
Hey everyone, I have a X.4 email server that's been great for months. Tonight after I tried upgrading to 10.4.11, the computer got stuck on the gray boot up screen with the gears moving. It doesn't actually freeze, it just never gets anywhere. I tried booting off the installer CD, then using Disk Utility to repair permissions as well as repair the volume. Both said I had problems, and after I repaired it still did not boot up. I also tried booting off of Disk Warrior and repairing it that way. Still nothing. I can mount the drive in target mode to another machine, and everything seems to be there. I'd be fine installing a new OS then migrating the data if possible. My most recent backup is about 2 weeks ago. But I've added a lot of new users since then, and I'd like to preserve them if possible. I just can't find info on how to migrate from 10.4 to 10.4.

There's zero causality or any causal relation between a botched unload of a launchctl file
and a system that is compromised in some other fashion.
When unloading a launchctl , use quotes, or cd to the directory and do it that way.
Make doubly, triply sure you know that you can safely unload whatever the launchctl file/job is, of course.
