Help in contour maps in labview

Hi,
I am trying to program an aplication that gives a contour map of a data matrix. The matrix is calculated for each sample data(from force sensor) and changes with time as the sample data changes. I need the garph to change in real time on the screen. the graph should look like the output of the function "contourf" in MATLAB (I had attached an examole of it).
If anyone has an idea how to do this, or if you have vi that does it please help me.

The closest standard LV indicator is the intensity plot graph. However, it uses the index values as x and y coordinates, and is unable to interpolate unpopulated array elements. So, forget it !
The best approximation to the Matlab contour function that I could find is the 3D graph, used unconventionnally : If you use only the projection on the XY plane, and ask for a contour plot, you get something rather similar to the "contourf".(see Ben, the seed is growing...)
See the attached vi. You can right-click the graph to access the display options (in CWGraph3D>properties...)spec illy if you need to modify the contour number/distance.
The graph is disabled to avoid changes in the orientation by innapropriate user clicks.
I know, the display is not that nice : no way to change/hide the border; The x axis labels cannot be turned to get a conventionnal aspect, and so on...
But this is apparently the best that you can get from LV...

How to implement wafer mapping using LabVIEW?

Hello LabVIEW Masters!
I am having an incoming project which includes controlling and gathering information from a PROBER. One of the difficulties I am having now is how to implement a WAFER MAP using LabVIEW. According to my customer requirements, the wafer element ranges from 6k to 23k. I guess doing all the element (one die = one led ctl/indicator) will be a hell of a task, especially on how to effectively manipulate each elements. Does anyone have better idea on how to this?

No, it's not ok. I made that program for my customer...
As I am not too familiar in using intensity graph.
That's no reason to hand over programs for free...
My customer also request me that if the cursor hover on the wafer map, he wants the x,y corrdinates to be displayed.
I also have such a feature. Did you notice the little yellow cursor near the center of the wafer? One could easily change that to use a MouseMove event instead...
He also wants to select some elements in the wafer map and come up with the coordinate values to do some testing.
That's related to the cursor thing...
Some points:
- You have a customer that pays you. Why should I offer work for free?
- You can send me contact dates of your customer, I will make him an offer...
- When you take an job to provide software you should be able to code the software...
- The VI(s) are now some years old. I didn't code so well back those days and don't want to hand out those VIs as they are right now.
- I included some "license management" deep inside that program, I would have to remove this and spend time on testing afterwards...
- The VIs are based on the PROBER output format used by the customer. All the file handling has to be changed for/by you...

Hi There,
I am a new bee to dac.
Need help in modifying mapping parameters of out the box mapping, which is invoked by DAC task.
We got a requirement to edit mapping parameter. When I go and see parameter under mappings tab in a mapping, I could not see any values in it.
But when I set any value, and validate it. It is successful.
Is it right way to do it?
What my concern is, When I initially go and see parameter values under maapings tab in a mapping, they are blank.
Where is it storing these values?

If you modify mapping then u have to create new task in dac and dac itself craete parameter file at run time. if you want to add more parameters then do it in dac system parameters tab.

XI Mail Adapter: sending emails with attachment with help of java mapping

Hi ,
On trying out the scenerio mentioned in the blog, using the java mapping provided
"XI Mail Adapter: An approach for sending emails with attachment with help of Java mapping
The scenerio works just fine.
But the payload as the content of the attachment is not getting generated in proper XML format.
I suppose it's because of the replace special characters code part..
Can anyone help me state the modification required in the code.

It might be a codepage issue. Is your original payload UTF-8?

Help Needed in mapping business scenario

Hi All,
I have a RM inter unit despatches for this we are using STO. While doing inter unit despatches we have to pay freight on per kg (Gross Weight) for a source and destination. This has already been mapped by creating a condition type and condition record.
But there is a scenario where in when inter unit despatches happens there is an agreement b/w transporter and company if the company does not load full truck then the company needs to pay a minimum amount which has been negotiated with the transporter in this case, the freight condition is not being payed only minimum gurantee amount is payed to the transporter.
Could any of us help me in mapping only the minimum gurantee scenario in R/3.
We are using STO to do inter unit despatches.

Help with java mapping

PI File adapter has a processing option u2018Empty-Message Handlingu2019 to ignore or Write Empty Files. In case there is no data created after mapping on target side then this option determines whether to write an empty file or not. But there is a catch to this option when it comes to using it with File Content Conversion which is described in SAP Note u2018821267u2019. It states following:
I configure the receiver channel with File content conversion mode and I set the 'Empty Message Handling' option to ignore. Input payload to the receiver channel is generated out of mapping and it does not have any record sets. However, this payload has a root element. Why does file receiver create empty output file with zero byte size in the target directory? Example of such a payload generated from mapping is as follows:

If the message payload is empty (i.e., zero bytes in size), then File adapter's empty message handling feature does NOT write files into the target directory. To achieve your objective of not writing files (that have just a single root element) into the target directory, following could be done:
Using a Java or ABAP Mapping in order to restrict the creation of node itself during mapping. (This cannot be achieved via Message Mapping)
Using standard adapter modules to do content conversion first and then write file.

The code for PI 7.0 should also work for PI 7.1 provided you use the right jar files for compilation, but vice-versa is not true.

I'm designing a HID device, and I want to write a host program using National Instrument's LabView. NI doesn't have any software support for USB, so I'm trying to write a few C dll files and link them to Call Library Functions. NI has some documentation on how to do this, but it's not exactly easy reading.
I've written a few C console programs (running Win 2K) using the PC host software example for a HID device from John Hyde's book "USB by design", and they run ok. From Hyde's example program, I've written a few functions that use a few API functions each. This makes the main program more streamlined. The functions are; GetHIDPath, OpenHID, GetHIDInfo, Writ
eHID, ReadHIC, and CloseHID. As I mentioned, my main program runs well with these functions.
My strategy is to make dll files from these functions and load them into LabView Call Library Functions. However, I'm having a number of subtle problems in trying to do this. The big problem I'm having now are build errors when I try to build to a dll.
I'm writing this post for a few reasons. First, I'm wondering if there are any LabView programmers who have already written USB HID host programs, and if they could give me some advice. Or, I would be grateful if a LabView or Visual C programmer could help me work out the programming problems that I'm having with my current program. If I get this LabView program working I would be happy to share it. I'm also wondering if there might already be any USB IHD LabView that I could download.
Any help would be appreciated.

Freely programmed search help with external mapping

Hi all.
I have a freely programmed search help to search for physical inventory items.
I map some data from the component where i use this search help to this search help via external mapping. This works fine.
But in the search help I want to be able to change the mapped data to perform a new serach. When I change the data and start the action to search again (in the serach help component) I still get the old field value from context so that the search returns the same result. When I close the search help afterwards the changes are suddenly visible in the using component. So my entered data are somehow transfered to the original context but not to the context of the used component.
Any ideas?

Hi Sascha,
I would suggest, that you do not work with the externally mapped attribute.
Try to copy the value to a "local" attribute in the searchhelp context while WDDOINIT of the component.
This is the attribute you should use for the search.
When you change the searchvalue, it is only changed in the comnponent.
To get the values back to the calling component you need to copy it back while you call the action submit or exit.

It depends what you want to do. If it is just about handling integer values greater than 2^32 then the simplest method really is to use a double precision floating point value. That one can represent integers up to about 2^56 without loss of precision.
If it is about interfacing to external software such as shared libraries you will have to create a cluster with two int32 values in there and pass this to the Call Library Node. This however won't help with arithmetic operations inside LabVIEW unless you write your own Add, Subtract, Multiply etc, VIs to handle that datatype.

Self-organizing map in LabView

Has anybody experiences in artificial neuronal networks in LabView especially Self-organizing maps??
Maybe an simple example program.
I have to analyze the data from an electronic nose and the aim is to recognize or visulize different things from its "smell".
The input data is the response value of each sensor. 5-16 Sensors are used.

Help needed with Map function in Lumira

Hi,
I've bee using Luira for lots of great tile charts and bar charts, but now I am looking to make use of the mapping visulization in Lumira.
Bascially I want to get a count of the number of retail stores by state.
I uploaded my data , and some have been populated and looks nice (see first screenshot) , but for others the state is not found (see second screenshot).
I have looked in the help documents, and some of the training, but have yet to find a solution.
What I'd like to know is how I can fix the "unfound" states, or at least find out what is the source file which stores all the states?
Above is the results so far, below is the missing states that I need to resolve. How can I fix for these "not found" states or compare the format of my original excel data vs the data from Lumira.
Alteratively if there is a way to match via post-code / zip-code please tell me how.

Hi Paul,
the geo-hierarchies take all cities that are greater than 100.000 for the name resolution and for the smaller ones you would need to use latitude/longitude information to get them resolved by Lumira.

Help required in mapping Materials , Quotation and Sales order

We need your help for the following requirement
There is a vehicle model and colours for these models
Company gets sales plan from dealers for vehicle model and later dealer confrms the PO Qty with model and required colour.
I need to map this in SAP.
I am proposing to create a Quotation for the sales plan from dealers with vehicle model and when company recieves PO , they will create Sales order with reference to Quotation.
The challenge i need to get all the colours ( finished materials ) for that model, currenttly all models and finished materials are managed in product heirarchy.
When i create order with reference to quotation..........the dealer should able to get the list of colours ( materials ) in the system for that model ( i am planning to create material masters for these models as well)....Please help me how to map this in SAP SD
i am just guessing if higher level item category concept can help .......or please suggest feasible solution
When he creates sales order with reference to quotation, instead of model ( mateial ) from the qtn ..........dealer should get the list of end prodcuts ( colours ) for the model in the sales order so that he chooses the required colour and saves SO.
Actually this is a portal driven project and SO creation is also integrated inthe portal for the dealers.

You said that the sales order process is done through the portal through the dealers? We are currently looking at a similar requirement from a customer perspective to create an online store sort of feel integrating the S/D module.
Can you share any ideas, things you did for portal integration? Web Dyn Pro application, Visual Composer, gave portal access to the dealers to S/D transactions?
