Help - Invalid Class File Format

Got the following error when I was trying to load a JSP that imports a servlet class:
2001-08-12 03:17:12 - Ctx( /guestbook ): JasperException: R( /guestbook + /Guest

Apparently the GuestBook class is found but for some reason it couldn't be loaded/compiled by Jasper. Anybody has a clue about the "wrong version" error? Thanks a lot.

I started with JDK1.4, switched back to JDK1.3 after seeing the error but it didn't help.
The first line of installation.html says:
"Tomcat will operate under any Java Development Kit (JDK) environment that provides a JDK 1.1, JDK 1.2 (also known as Java2 Standard Edition, or J2SE) or later platform" - so I assume I don't have to go back to JDK1.2?
Thanks.

  • Invalid docx file format error when publishing

    Good morning all,
    I've been using UPK 3.5.1 Developer for years with Office 2003 (yes, I know we should upgrade, but that's out of my control), and have successfully published many times. After my latest publishing, the following error showed in the Activity Log:
    Task: Job Aid / Postprocessing document
    Comment: Invalid docx file format odpub://int/PlayerPackage/Temp/03d444ee-681b-406b-aba2-cd4b669702e2_JOBAID.docx
    All of the other job aids have published to a .doc format, so I'm not sure why this one is behaving differently. I located the offending topic, and in UPK, the preview provides a similar error when I try to preview the job aid. Strangely enough though, in the published project, the job aid for that topic prints just fine. I know I can just ignore the error since the finished product works, but I'm just wondering if anyone has some insight as to why this error occurred.
    Thanks!
    Brenda Hutch

    I am having the same issue. It is during export - almost immediately after exporting begins. No file is created.

  • Error message: Error loading Project _ Invalid project file format

    This monring I open dvdsp project and it happen frozen. It became not responding. So I had to force quit. Now I can't open project file. The error message said "Error loading Project _ Invalid project file format". What should I do?

    This isn't quite the same issue, but close enough that it must be related:
    I was working on a project this morning, added a ton of subtitles and tweaked a jpeg menu (in photoshop). Saved it, closed it down without any issues, and now it won't open. The "Loading Project" box gets 1/4 of the way along and freezes on "Loading Tracks". In Activity Monitor the DSPX_Encoder services are not frozen, although not actually using any CPU power.
    Needless to say I don't have a backup...... and I thought that I had achieved a lot this morning.
    Solutions attempted so far:
    Disconnected the external hard drive with all the assets in the hope that I could isolate a dodgy file. Masde no difference, so the problem must be within the project file itself.
    Anything else to be done??

  • Unsupported class file format of version 48.0.

    Hi,
    I am new to Java Card. I have a problem to convert a class file to cap file. When I try to convert it, I got this message " unsupported class file format of version 48.0." Do you guys know any idea about it?

    The class file version is determined by the used java compiler (javac).
    The old Java Card development kit 2.1.2 was designed to work only with javac of the jsdk1.3 the current development kit 2.2.1 needs jsdk 1.4.
    In both cases you can not use jdk1.5 for compiling you java files.

  • HELP! Unexpected File Format Error

    I was recently working on a project in Flash CS5.5 for school, last thing i did was save the project and close the program. Next time I try to open it I get an error saying "Unexpected File Format", and the application closes itself out. I can open Flash by itself and work on anything else, but when I try to open my class project it repeats the same thing "Unexpected File Format" and closes. The file was originally started IN Flash CS5.5, and has not moved to any other program since then. I dont understand what happened. I really need this project working again, can anyone help?

    It's just happened again!!
    This is really killing my deadline.  Same file, this time I had just deleted to fonts from the library, then clicked save to get the alert to kill flash.
    This time I got the additional info from the "Adobe Flash CS5.5 has stopped working" alert box:

  • Help needed with File Formats (Save As...)

    Somewhere upgrading versions of Photoshop (Mac), some old File Formats have remained. The result is that I cannot properly select a File Format to Save As... except the native PSD format. Others have to be selected by selecting a format below the one on the list, meaning that I cannot select TIFF because there are no formats below this one. (Accepted formats http://help.adobe.com/en_US/photoshop/cs/using/WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-7758a.h tml#WSfd1234e1c4b69f30ea53e41001031ab64-7754a)
    I've looked in the Plugins folder and there are no strange file formats there. I checked Library>Application Support>Adobe>Plug-Ins but nothing there. I've tried searching the entire hard drive for Compuserve GIF (one of the offending file formats) but nothing matches.
    I give up trying to figure out where some of the problem plugins are located. As you can see from the image below, selecting Multi-Picture Format actually will save it as a jpg. From reading Adobe's formats, I think CompuServe GIF is causing part of the problem. I don't know what other one.
    Or it may be that I just need to reset something so all formats are properly recognized. Can anyone help?

    Curt,
    That is great information. Unfortunately I've already checked the preferences and do not have an additional plugin folder specified.
    Suppossedly, according to the information from Adobe, the only place plugins should be loaded is in the Photoshop > Plug-Ins folder, or possibly Library>Application Support>Adobe>Plug-Ins (according to the link you provided). There is nothing there.
    When I look at Photoshop > About Plug-ins I see that, for example, there are two (2) versions of CompuServe GIF format. Obviously one is old from a previous install/update, but I cannot find it anywhere. If I could find it, I could remove it. I suspect that is one of the conflicts causing my problem, but I see no way in Preferences to remove a plug-in. The link you gave says to move it outside the folder, but it presupposes you can even find the offending plug-in, which I cannot.

  • HELP PLEASE - .dv file format not supported

    I am using Premiere Pro CS4.  I had it installed Windows XP, and my project was working fine.  Premiere read .dv files as well as others, but the OS was getting old so I upgraded to Windows 7.   Now I load the same project and Premiere does not recognize the .dv files.  I get the error that the .dv file format is not supported.  I thought this was supposed to be supported by premiere?  Do I need to download a codec or change settings, or will I have to convert all of the .dv files to another format?  If so, this will take a long time because I have lots of file clips in this project.  Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for all of the help.  I already basically understood what a codec was, although those articles did make it more clear.  I am still not quite sure how Premiere choses what codecs it will read.  I believe it has some codecs included with it.  I suppose the files I am trying to work with use other codecs.  What I am not sure of is how other programs can play these files and not premiere.  If these programs play the files, then that should mean the codecs are installed, so I dont see why premiere cant read them.
    None the less, I think my problem lies in the fact that I cannot find good codec installers for Windows 7.  I am going to try to dual boot my computer for the time and put CS4 back on the XP version where I think I can find the codecs that I need.
    The only other option I can think of is to convert the files to formats that work with my Premiere on Windows 7.  If the MS AVI codec will work for sure, then does anyone know a good converter I can use, because this would work best.
    Last, not that premiere is on windows 7, the page up and page down buttons do not advance the timeline to the next cut, and the ctrl+D combo does
    not insert the default transition.  Does anyone know what to do to fix these small problems?
    Thanks again for all the help.

  • Plz help load class files

    hai forum,
    Plz help me out regarding this trouble.
    I have extracted class files of a jar file into a local directory D:\myClass.
    Now i need to access these class files.I loaded the path D:\myClass using URL ClassLoader.
                                  File file = new File("D:myClass");
                          URL url = file.toURL();
                          URL[] urls = new URL[]{url};
                          ClassLoader cl = new URLClassLoader(urls);
                          Class c = cl.loadClass(classname);The rest of the code is for listing the methods of the class file.But the class file is not getting loaded and thus the methods are not listed.
    Has it got anything to do with the way i have extracted and stored the class files?
    Plz help me identify my mistake.
    Thank you.

    Hi, I will borrow this thread to discuss my problem with loading a class file.
    How do you use the class when you have loaded it?
    I'm using this code:
    File file = new File("C:\\Foo\\Foo.class");
    URL url = file.toURL();
    URL[] urls = new URL[]url;
    ClassLoader cl = new URLClassLoader(urls);
    Class c = cl.loadClass(cl.getClass().getName());
    Object o = c.newInstance(); <-- This can't be done, my applet just stops and starts to wait or something. I don't get any exception or anything.
    The class Foo.class has a constructor that's prints some text and a function that can print some other text. Is it possible to call that function in some way?

  • Please help - Invalid project file.

    Hi,
    Was about 90% done on a major DVD project when DVD studio Pro 4 crashed.
    When I try to reopen the file it says "invalid project file".
    Although I have all of the assets and could rebuild I was in the process of adding subtitles manually and really need to get them back if possible (I was about 2 hours into a 2 1/4 hour film and was typing them in seperately.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers

    Hi - welcome to the discussions.
    I hat to be the one to tell you this, but I would almost certainly guarantee that project is lost, I'm afraid.
    There are a couple of things you can try to get this back - repair disk permissions, trash preferences and so on - but you could also look inside the project file (control+click on it and 'show package contents') for anything that you can salvage. With luck, repairing permissions or even re-starting your machine will get you back to be able to open the project, but I wouldn't want to build your hopes.
    DVDSP does have the ability to let you type subs directly in to it, but whenever you do it is very difficult to get them out and use them elsewhere without a lot of additional work. For that reason alone most folk will create the subs in an external application and import them to DVDSP when done. That way they are always accessible, easily editable and most important, they are portable between projects or even between tracks within a project. I strongly recommend that you use a dedicated subtitle app, like STLEdit or even a basic text editor (or better, BBEdit).

    Thanks!
    L.

    Given your java file, the fully qualified name of the class is dbUtil.dbConfig.
    What you are importing is eb.dbUtil.dbConfig
    These things are not the same.
    The root of the classpath for the webapp is the classes directory.
    So either
    1 - specify dbConfig.java to be in package eb.dbUtil
    2 - move the class file into web-inf/classes/dbUtil/dbConfig.class, and import dbUtil.dbConfig.
    Also, by convention, classnames should start with a capital letter ie dbUtil.DbConfig.
