Help! NameAlreadyBound Exception, JNDI name conflict

Hi, I am using EJB 3.0 and I really have no idea on using JNDI. I read several queries and answers on this problem but I dont know how to solve it. When i go to ejb-jar.xml, I see very little information. Please help! Urgently needed. Any ideas will do, thanks!

    I have received a naming conflict when starting up App Server 7.
    I am using the Sun Studio Enterprise.
    The abstract schema name for the entity bean is Billercenter and everywhere else that the bean is referenced is billerCenter.
    I am thinking that the server is complaining about the name not matching in the application module, but it won't let me change out the name. The following error is from the server.log. Anyone know what the fix is?

  • Conflicts binding EJB to JNDI names

    Hi everyone, I'm having a problem to run an application client due to JNDI errors during the binding of EJB modules.
    I'm using NetBeans 5.5 and Sun Java Application Server 9 PE.
    the server log shows these messages:
    SEVERE| Exception in creating EJB container [javax.naming.NameAlreadyBoundException: Use rebind to override]
    SEVERE| appId=+CorpTour+ moduleName=+Tour+_jar ejbName=+reservationBean+
    SEVERE| Jndi name conflict found in [+CorpTour+]. Jndi name [+reservationRemote+] for bean [+reservationBean+] is already in use.
    SEVERE| Naming exception while creating EJB container: javax.naming.NameAlreadyBoundException: Use rebind to override
    here the components are:
    Enterprise application: CorpTour
    EJB: Tour
    Session Bean: reservationBean
    Session Bean remote interface: reservationRemote
    I created all the EJB calls using the IDE assitant so I don't know what's wrong.
    Another thing is that the IDE created the application-client.xml file but not the ejb-jar file.
    I would reeeeally appreciate any help on this problem. Thanks in advance

    What version of WLS are you using?

    Can I do a thing like this:
    -) I deploy an EJB on a server A.
    -) I bind the EJB that is deployed on the server A to jndi on a server
    B. The EJB is not deployed on server B.
    -) Web client that runs on server B can lookup the EJB in its local
    jndi. However all calls go to the server A.
    Server A and B are not in the cluster.

  • A prefix can be included in the EJB JNDI name dynamically?

    In the Stateless annotation, we can specify the mappedName attribute to the EJB JNDI name bind.
    Can we specify a prefix to the mappedName separately?
    For example: We have this:
    @Stateless(mappedName="myEJB")And don't want to do this:
    @Stateless(mappedName="prefix/myEJB")We want to include the prefix in another place in the code dynamically.
    Can we do that??

    Hello! Thanks for reply!
    As I can't configure programatically, there is any way to configure in an application descriptor, or in another place of the application server?
    The idea is to publish two applications that use the same EJB classes, but in different JNDI namespaces, because we don't want to share the resources. Otherwise, it will result in JNDI name conflicts. The applications works in different contexts and we want to reuse the existing EJB definitions.
    Any suggestion?yes you can do this. ejb 3.0 keeps the features from 2.1, namely all the xml based configuration (although it is now optional). and, the annotations are always overriden by the xml configuration. thus, you can create different deployments with different the same compiled class files. you just need to override the annotation configuration with xml configuration (via ejb-jar.xml or whatever).Yes, we can do that. I've tested here, and it works. But, can we do better?
    The configuration via XML implies maintenance, and it's not good, because we have so many EJBs to maintain.
    And there is another problem... The EJB classes are in JARs, and these JARs are shared across the applications.
    Pretend that you have to maintain two versions of each EJB JAR. One with XML configured and other without. If we change one, the another must be changed too. How can it be productive?
    I have seen some EJB implementations that are more flexible with JNDI naming.
    See:
    - [http://openejb.apache.org/jndi-names.html|http://openejb.apache.org/jndi-names.html]
    - [http://fixunix.com/weblogic/221782-dynamic-jndi-name-weblogic-ejb-jar-xml.html|http://fixunix.com/weblogic/221782-dynamic-jndi-name-weblogic-ejb-jar-xml.html]
    Does it have a better solution in Glassfish?

    Greetings,
    javax.naming.NameNotFoundException. Root exception is
    org.omg.CosNaming.NamingContextPackage.NotFound
    =================
    Below is the line of my LoginServlet class which is
    referred to in the stack trace - Object object =
    context.lookup
                        ( "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" );The root of the naming context is 'java:comp/env' and this is where lookup automatically begins for EJBs and resources. IOW, by specifying "java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk" as the EJB lookup name the server is actually treating this as "java:comp/env/java:comp/env/ejb/WarehouseClerk". Specify only the ejb context ("ejb/WarehouseClerk") in your lookup and you should be fine.
    Any help would be most appreciated.

  • HELP!  How to Add JNDI name in Entity Bean

    I am a student who doing a simple J2EE project . I met a problem
    according to the books,In J2EE RI (Appserver 8) when I click the " Sun-specific-Settings" button it will show a windows which i can give the JNDI name, it does work in the session Bean, but in entity bean, I just can change the Bean name. there is no row that i can set up the JNDI name. ( I use local home and component interfaces)
    another question is when i do verify, I find a error, that something wrong in my sun-ejb-jar.xml file. I think that file in the ****.ear file. i try to change or overwrite it in the deployment toolkit, but it is warned that i can not do that. What can i do to fix that problem
    Hope somebody can help me. sorry about the english, i am a chinese studying in UK

    hi
    i am also new to ejb but will try to answer ur question
    JNDI name....
    I dont know how u are doing but try this
    select the bean on the left pane and thengo to "Sun Specific Settings" There are 2 views here "EJB settings" and "CMP database". Likewise how ever u go to the Sun Specific Settings Check if it has more than one view
    I am also having a verify error
    For [ EntityCMP#ejb-jar-ic.jar#EmployeeBean ]
    Error: Exception [ JDO74033: Cannot deploy application 'EntityCMP' module 'ejb-jar-ic' with CMP beans: cmp-resource is not defined for this module. The minimum requirement for a cmp-resource is to specify the jndi-name of a jdbc-resource or a persistence-manager-factory-resource to be used with the beans. ] while initializing JDOCodeGenerator. Please check your descriptors and mapping files for consistency
    I am not able to come over this. this is a CMP bean i am doing. But it gets deployed and works just fine.
    Cheers

  • Help needed on allocating a JNDI name for MYSQL on Glassfish

    Hi,
    I am trying to invoke my database (MYSQL) through a JNDI lookup on GlassFish Server. I copied the MySQL connector into the GLASSFISH_HOME/lib directory and went into Admin console (http://localhost:8080/login.jsf) to create a ConnectionPool. After this, I am not sure what I should do, inorder to associate a "jdbc/mysql" JNDI name for this pool. Can anybody point me to what has to be done?
    Thank you.

    Figured it. After you've setup your pool, you need to go to Resources -> JDBC -> JDBC Resources and then create an new mapping of the pool that you've just created to some name (ex: "java/mysql"); This should integrated Glassy with Mysql
    Thanks.

  • Problem with Database JNDI Name

    I have written an entity bean & tring to deploy it with CMP 1.0
    I have already included classes12.jar in my classpath.
    (I am using Oracle database)
    I have specified driver & datasource as follows
    j2eeadmin -addJdbcDriver oracle.jdbc.driver.Driver
    j2eeadmin -addJdbcDataSource jdbc/Oracle jdbc:oracle:[email protected]:1521:listorcl
    When I tried Deployment Settings I have given following specs
    Database JNDI Name : jdbc/Oracle
    User : username
    Password : password
    When I click on Generate SQL Now or Generate Default SQL the following exception occurs .
    NameNotFoundException : Oracle__pm not found
    Note : The J2EE server & Database Server are running.
    Pl Help Me.
    Thanks In Advance

    mmm I will try to explain it better:
    1) long time ago I created my account SDN, in "kind of relationship with SAP option", I indicated "partner"  (i work for consulting company, SAP partner), and register in the form our S000... number.
    2) From there, I login SDN with my personal mail, and in my profile my data OK and like SAP partner.
    3) from a few months ago, when I try to login using my ma.il as usual, I get an error message:
    The email address does not exist.  and that I must enter you user S000 ....
    4) but when I login user our S000.. (such as SAP partner), "Ariela" data appears (who is my boss), because she is the comercial contact person with SAP, and she manage the S000 account
    5) the history, posts, points and others are mine (Leandro Balboni);
    6) but I do not want is to change this profile, because in this way would be modifying the data responsible for the SAP account as a partner.
    7) I wonder if I can still loing SDN as before,  perhaps must not indicate "partner", but simply put the name of my company.
    8) how can I fix it?
    thanks in advance,
    best regards,
    Leandro

  • The DataSource with the JNDI name: contentDataSource could not be located

    Hello,
    We try to deploy our system/application to the servers that structed as
    Machine one has:
    1 administration domain
    1 managed domain
    Machine two has :
    1 managed domain which is administrated by machine one.
    I was trying to deploy the UI(portal application) to managed domain under Machine one. I got
    error message as following:
    Exception:weblogic.management.ApplicationException: activate failed for content.jar Module: content.jar Error: Exception activating module: EJBModule(content.jar,status=PREPARED) Unable to deploy EJB: ValueBean from content.jar: [EJB:011028]The DataSource with the JNDI name: contentDataSource could not be located. Please ensure that the DataSource has been deployed successfully and that the JNDI name in your EJB Deployment descriptor is correct.
    I have portalFrameworkPool Data Sources deployed to both managed domains.
    when I deploy the application to the server that has one one domain(both adminstrator domain and application domain are in one), it is fine.
    Can some one with same experience, or BEA people provide some help on this? Very appreciate any help on this issue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Christina

    :-p
    If you go to each Managed Server on the console, you can see the Service tab and then go to JDBC. Under JDBC you can see all the pool connections. Instead of localhost they should be pointing to the specific hostname or ip address of the adminserver and the pointbase port on that server (9093 by default) so the EAR files can be correctly deployed and then the JNDI Tree will look exactly the same on both servers. Change all the connection pools to use the specific hostname instead of localhost. Hope this works for you.

  • Default ejb JNDI name in websphere ear

    Hi,
    I am using ejb2.0-2.1 in websphere 6.0 WAS.
    I have a local entity ejb.
    I wish to define a service locator for this as a singleton class that caches the entity bean's home after doing a JNDI lookup.
    I am interested in two things.
    1) Since my service locator is a simple singleton class I want it to lookup the local ejb homes using the JNDI names supplied in the websphere specific deployment descriptors correspondiing to ejb-jar.xml. (No point in even thinking of any ejb-local-ref) My service locator is defined inside the same ejb jar.
    2) Ideally I would like to not specify any explicit JNDI names in any websphere specific DD for the local ejb homes. I would like to use a JNDI name based on the ejb-name itself.
    I have been able to do 2) using JBoss.
    Thanks.

    Hi Ravi,
    Can you please post the error message and stack trace? Also what version of WLS are you
    using? The more relevant information you can give me, the more likely I'll be able to
    help you.

    Hi, there:
    Our team is trying to write a session bean as a factory to serve
    other beans. Even the JSP (or other clients) can find the correct
    session bean residing on different ear file, the factory can't return
    properly when the returning parameter is a java object (it works fine
    if we only return int/string/etc). Is there a work-around to make

    You have it set to run on the WebLogic platform so it is looking up the TransactionManager from JNDI, but are running the test from within the EclipseIDE. Try deploying it to Weblogic and running it there, or change your persistence.xml settings so that it can connect/run outside the server.

  • Looking up JNDI names

    Hi,
    I got "NoInitialContextException" when i tried to execute a session bean client by making the look up my is follows
    client program
    import javax.naming.*;
    import javax.ejb.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class AdviceClient
    public static void main(String[] args)
    try
    Context ic=new InitialContext();
    Object o=ic.lookup("AdviceBean");
    AdviceLocalHome home=(AdviceLocalHome)o;
    AdviceLocal advice=home.create();
    System.out.println(advice.getAdvice());
    catch(Exception ex)
    ex.printStackTrace();
    during deployment by using sun java system application server 8.2's deploytool i can't find the approprite place in the wizard to give JNDI name so that I can look up the home interface.
    help me to run this client.

    You have to configure the InitialContext.

    can anyone help me how to write the code of below statement as i m getting the wrong jndi name

    (QueueConnectionFactory) context.lookup("QueueConnectionFactory");
    and its configuration style in ejb-jar and jboss.jar.
    getting a reply soon may be my good luck.

  • Server Component JNDI name

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to consume a web service that i did with a ABAP function module. This means that my Web Service is in R/3 not in the Web AS.
    I created a Deployable Client Proxy with the WSDL in the NWDS.
    Now the EAR is deployed in the WebAS.
    In my web-j2ee-engine.xml i have:
    Application Local JNDI name: sc
    Server component type: interface
    Server component JNDI name: /wsclients/proxies/sap.com/sc/sap.com.sc
    My question is where is the Server component JNDI name of my Web Service in the Web AS?
    How can i find the JNDI names of all my apps in the Web AS?
    In the help is says:
    /wsclients/proxies/<ProviderName>/<ApplicationName>/<ProxyName>
    But every time that i do
    DefaultService obj = (DefaultService) ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/sc");
    The error is: com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Exception during lookup operation of object with name webContainer/applications/sap.com/testear/test/java:comp/env/sc, cannot resolve object reference. [Root exception is com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Path to object does not exist at sc, the whole lookup name is wsclients/proxies/sap.com/sc/sap.com.sc.
    Please help,
    Regards,
    César Felce

    Hi César,
    You can access JNDI Registry with Visual Administrator tool.
    Under "Services->JNDI Registry".
