Help need on 'Link properties'

Hi there,
I have used the 'Add Attachment' to insert a .pdf into an Acrobat file I am working on. I have then used the Link tool to succesfully add a link to this inserted .pdf and configured it so that when the link is clicked it opens in a new window.
I would like to know if it is at all possible to control the size and shape of the new window? Currently it always opens as a fully maximised window.
I cannot see any options within the 'Go to a page in another document' options to specify this - all it has is:
Open In:
Window set by user preference
New window
Existing window
The options below this only relate to Zoom.
Does anyone know if this can be done?

Hi,
use the button "action" or "action listener" property to close the popup. Validation is processed after the apply request phase in the JSF lifecycle and thus comes before actions to be executed, which will be in invoke application phase.

Help needed re document properties and tracing edits of the contents

Hi there,
We are in a situation where we believe a document may have been edited unethically and need to find out what the terminology means.
The original document exists in print and we have been sent a 'copy' of the same document via email several months later.
The date created and modified, however, is very recent.
We know the document has been altered as it is different to the original and are trying to find out when exactly it was modified.
It is an acrobat document created on a Mac. In the document properties box it says 'Application: Word' so I guess that means that they created it in Word and saved it as an Acrobat file?
It says the date created is 05/06/14 and the date modified is 05/06/14.
Does this mean that the file's content has been changed or does it just mean that it has been saved etc?
Any help very gratefully received!

You can't really say anything. Files don't start out as PDFs, they start out as something else like a Word document.
So, if you have the Word document, you can make a PDF any time.
Edit the Word document any time, and make another PDF.
Also, computer dates can be set by anyone any time. Dates in a PDF can be changed (though not by Acrobat, but it isn't rocket science). If you are looking into this from a legal point of view, dates on a document are worthless.
Digitally signed documents have value provided they are signed in particular ways.
Acrobat has a compare document facility, but all this will do is confirm the changes.
To be honest, it sounds more as if they send you a new copy from the Word document, when it was asked for. Someone might have changed the document in the mean time, without tracking the changes in a way you'd have wished.

Adobe acrobat 8 standard - help neede with links!

I have a document with over 3000 pages, I need to put a link at the bottom of each page which will link back to a certain page. Obviously I would like to do this without actually having to put the link on each individual page. Is there any way of duplicating the link???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Requires Acrobat pro to use a button to do it.
Tools>forms>button
place button and add a link action. Right-click the button and select duplicate and enter the page range.

Help needed with link in AI

I am creating packaging artwork file in Illustrator with an embedded link to a jpeg pattern element. However, when I print the layout the embedded link is missing. This also happened on a second file which printed out OK on first 2 tries, then the link was also missing from the 3rd printout. What am I doing wrong?
I have many years experience working with Illustrator, this is the first time I have encoutered this problem, please help!

The artwork is built up in layers as follows:
1. Placed art background with clipping path (Jpeg created in Photoshop - no paths) embedded
2. Additional ground colours
3. box cutter
4. additional graphics - logos, text, additional placed art (small images embedded which print OK??!)
I embed placed images as I send ai artwork to print rather than PDF - the suppliers I work with are mostly China/India & they prefer ai files.
All placed images are CMYK.
I have tried re-creating the artwork from scratch, renaming the large link & replacing it in the boxart, removing the clipping path, flattening the artwork to a single layer. I can usually find a way round a problem, but this one has me & my colleagues stumped!

I am using adobe life cycle designer 8 to make forms. These forms are usesd to collect information on persons working in the healthcare industry.
I want to use drop down lists that are "connected". Depending on the choice made in the first dropbox, the user will get new options in the second dropbox.
Example:
Dropbox 1
Values
- value 1
- value 2
- value 3
Dropbox 2
If user choses value 1, they can chose the following values in dropbox 2:
- Value A
- Value B
If user choses value 2, they can chose the following values in dropbox 2:
- Value C
- Value D
If user choses value 3, they can chose the following values in dropbox 2:
- Value E
- Value F
I have been puzzeling for a while, but cannot find the solution for this.

Help needed to link up buttons on HUD Window to Applescript

I have very limited experience of XCode, though I did build a very simple application some time ago that appended text to the Comments field of the currently playing track in iTunes using Applescript. The design of this app was basically just a set of drop down menus.
I now want to redesign this as a HUD Window, and thought it best to start again. Unfortunately because it was a while ago I have forgotten the steps I took to design the original app and having done some reading and googling I am still stuck.
What I have done so far is to create a new Cocoa Application, design a HUD Window with all the necessary buttons in IB and add the Applescript from the original project to the Classes Folder in XCode. The AppleScript basically just consists of a series of arguments like this:

In the original document the Applescript was listed in the MainMenu.xib window in IB as an App Delegate and I could ctrl click on buttons/menu items and link them to the various applescript instances/arguments in the Applescript, but since I copied the applescript from the old project to the new it isn't showing up in the MainMenu.xib window, so I'm obviously missing out an important step, and wonder if someone could point me in the right direction.

*AppleScript Studio* has been deprecated in Snow Leopard. You can still open and edit older projects, but the new framework is AppeScriptObjC. The regular AppleScript part of your project would be the same, but the way your script addresses the user interface (Interface Builder) is different in the new framework.
For an older project, you can enable the AppleScript Studio palette in Interface Builder (see the AppleScriptObjC Release Notes), and for a newer project there is a starting tutorial at MacScripter.net (see AppleScriptObjC in Xcode).

Unfortunately, Adobe has quit support of earlier version. They have a version of AA9 Pro for Windows posted, but not for the MAC as I understand it. You can try Adobe Acrobat X (10) Pro, Reader, and Suite Direct Download Links | ProDesignTools, but again I can only find PC versions. Someone may drop by with a link or you might see if anyone locally has the CD (that you could get the install file from). You will still need to use your original S/N.

I have a MacBook White. Everything worked great with Snow Leopard including Mathematica, and all Pogo games. I downloaded Lion two days ago and now neither program works. The box states that I need J/Link, and/or java runtime. Help.

The coment "few outdated programs" Ive seen alot its not just a few its a lot and since games are not Apple's strong point I would think they would want to keep as many as they could...
An example of the rants you will see from a lot here. Don't be put off as these problems are generally user specific, and these same old comments come out after the release of every OSX I can remember. When Lion is upgraded to the next OSX you can gaurentee these forums will be full of people screaming about how great Lion was. Happened with Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard.
So come to think of it you may be better off Googling sites that give you unbiased views on Lion, rather than expect any positive comments here. For every one complaint there are probably 100,000 people with no issues.

somewhere (please state where) you want social media images with their relative links
I just want to link it to my own email - probably refers to point 2 above
so when someone sends it to me - someone sends what to you. Do you post the iphoto or does it get uploaded by someone else.

Link Properties box

In my office we noted that in version 8 of Acrobat you cannot keep your link properties box open while navigating to multiple links. Instead this box has to be closed before moving to the next link and/or bookmark. Unlike version 7 which does allow the link properties box to remain open. This feature in my organization is without a doubt amazingly helpful - and will unfortunately prevent us from updating the remaing stations to version 8.
Is this an intended change to the product and/or have there been any patches made to resolve this? The problem my environment has with this change is it increases the work load by doubling the amount of mouse interaction needed to link and/or audit already created links to a PDF package.
