Help needed about HTTP Request Headers

HI All,
Regarding HTTP RFC 1945 I have to use headers request-line and message is there any functionality in Servlets or JSP to access both them. I used “request.getHeaderNames()”, which return the headers “ACCEPT,ACCEPT-ENCODING ,ACCEPT-LANGUAGE ,CACHE-CONTROL ,CONNECTION ,CONTENT-LENGTH ,CONTENT-TYPE ,COOKIE ,HOST ,REFERER ,USER-AGENT” but not request-line and message.
Kindly provide the help to access them.

I had a look at RFC 1945. It gives an example of what it calls a Request-Line:GET http://www.w3.org/pub/WWW/TheProject.html HTTP/1.0But as far as I can see it doesn't describe this anywhere as being a header. So it doesn't surprise me that getHeaderNames() doesn't return it.
I'm also surprised you're even trying to access this low-level information with a high-level tool like a servlet. You could probably reconstruct it with various servlet methods, though. You know the method (e.g. "GET") and you can find out the URL from various methods of the HttpServletRequest.

  • Help needed about HTTPS and policy files !!

    Hi everyone,
    my Web Start application crashes with a SSLPeerUnverifiedException when I
    try to connect to the server with HTTPClient :

    by "codebase "http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/-"" everything

    You could go digging in the RFC that describes what a URL is (because that is what the code source is).
    Also you could switch on a nice flag in you server environment that output information if security things go wrong: -Djava.security.debug=failure
    In the output you should see from where your code is loaded. If it says http and not https, then that is what should appear in your policy file.

  • Allow-http-request-headers-from    Question

    I have a crossdomain.xml file in place, but am still getting this error:
    "Security error accessing url"
    I searched the web and is it true that because I am accessing a SOAP web service I need to add this to the crosssdomain.xml file:
    <allow-http-request-headers-from domain="MYDOMAINHERE" headers="SOAPAction"/>
    Is there anything else from a crossdomain.xml file perspective, or anything else in general to be able to access these web services from my Flex app?
    Thanks for your responses.

    The SWF is at MyDomain.com (for example).
    The crossdomain.xml file is on the 3rd party web service provider at the root of their web server, and it correctly has an entry to MyDomain.com.
    The exact error is "Security error accessing url".
    I read on the web that when accessing SOAP web services you need to add these entries to the crossdomain.xml file:
    <allow-http-request-headers-from domain="MyDomain.com" headers="SOAPAction"/>
    Is that the case and is there anything else extra I need to do to get web services to work in this case?
    Thanks Alex, for helping with this.

  • Setting HTTP request headers

    Who can tell me how to set HTTP request headers,for example ,If-Modified-Since,i only know how to get If-Modified-Since in servlet and use it.

    Hy,
    Headers are provided by the Browser you use. He controls the Content of it, eg. the accepted File types, the Browser name and type, HTTP Version used, ...
    You can, however, add your custom Headers with the addHeader Methods in HttpServletResponse. Then, you can read them out on the Client, eg.
    using Jsp, and react on the Client based on the given values.

  • Doubts about HTTPS requests and Java proxy

    Hello,
    I need help about SSL connections and Java.
    I'm developing a HTTP/S proxy with Java. To test my proxy, I use Firefox. I configure the proxy option in the browser. The proxy works good with HTTP requests, but with HTTPS requests doesn't work and I don't know why.
    I explain the steps that I do for a HTTPS request:
    * The browser sends a CONNECT message to the proxy.
    I check that the proxy receives the CONNECT request correctly.
    * The proxy establish a secure connection with the content server.
    I use an SSLSocket to connect with my content server, and the SSL handshake is succesful.
    * The proxy sends a 200 HTTP response to the client:
    I send
    HTTP/1.0 200 Connection established[CRLF]
    [CRLF]
    to the application client (Firefox)
    * The proxy sends/receive data to/from Firefox/content server
    I have a Socket between Firefox and my proxy, and a SSLSocket between my proxy and my content server. I use two threads to communicate the client and the server.
    Java code:
    //Thead server-->proxy-->application(Firefox)
    ThreadComm tpa = new ThreadComm(bis_serverSSL, bos_app);
    //Thread application(Firefox)-->proxy-->server
    ThreadComm tap = new ThreadComm(bis_app, bos_serverSSL);
    The "tpa" thread reads from the SSLSocket between the proxy and the server and sends data to the Socket between the proxy and Firefox.
    The "tap" thread reads from the Socket between the proxy and Firefox and sends data to the SSLSocket between the proxy and the server.
    This is the class ThreadComm:
    public class ThreadComm extends Thread{
        private BufferedInputStream bis = null;
        private BufferedOutputStream bos = null;
        public ThreadComm(BufferedInputStream bis, BufferedOutputStream bos) {
            this.bis = bis;
            this.bos = bos;
        @Override
        public void run() {
            int b = -1;
            FileOutputStream fos = null;
              do {
                   try {
                        b = bis.read();
                        System.out.print((char) b);
                        fos.write(b);
                        bos.write(b);
                        bos.flush();
                   } catch (Exception ex) {
                        Logger.getLogger(ThreadAplicacionProxy.class.getName()).log(Level.SEVERE, null, ex);
                        //b=-1;
              } while (b != -1);
        }But this doesn't work and I don't know why.
    I have an Apache server with the mod_ssl enabled as content server, I can send requests (with Firefox) to the port 80(HTTP request) and 443(HTTPS request) without use my proxy and it works. If I use my proxy, HTTP request works but with HTTPS request doesn't work, I look the log of Apache and I see:
    [Tue Apr 27 17:32:03 2010] [info] Initial (No.1) HTTPS request received for child 62 (server localhost:443)
    [Tue Apr 27 17:32:03 2010] [error] [client 127.0.0.1] Invalid method in request \x80\x7f\x01\x03\x01

    [Tue Apr 27 17:32:03 2010] [info] [client 127.0.0.1] Connection closed to child 62 with standard shutdown (server localhost:443)
    Why it say? Invalid method in request \x80\x7f\x01\x03\x01 , my proxy sends the data that the Firefox sends.
    I think than I have follow the explanations of [1] but doesn't work, I have problems in implementation in Java but I don't know where.
    I appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks for your time.

    ejp, I have checked the socket between the proxy and server and ... You are right! , I was using the port 80 instead of the 443 (incredible mistake!, I'm sorry). I was convinced that I was using the port 443... Well, is a little step, but I still have not won the war :)
    If I see the log files of Apache, We can see that something goes wrong.

    >
    I think that this happens because Apache receives the data without decrypt, this is the reason because in the log we can see the "Invalid method in request \x80\x7f\x01\x03\x01". This supposition is true?
    ejp, you say that the "Termination is quite tricky." I have changed my code following yours suggestions (using the join and the shutdownOutput) but the threads don't die.
    I explain you what I do:
    (in time 1)
    I launch the thread (threadFirefoxToApache) that reads data from Firefox and sends to Apache.
    I launch the thread (threadApacheToFirefox) that reads data from Apache and sends to Firefox.
    (in time 2)
    threadFirefoxToApache sends the firts data to the server.
    threadApacheToFirefox is waiting that the server says something.
    (in time 3)
    threadFirefoxToApache is waiting that Firefox says something.
    threadApacheToFirefox sends data to Firefox.
    (in time 4)
    threadFirefoxToApache is waiting that Firefox says something.
    threadApacheToFirefox is waiting that Firefox says something.
    and they are waiting... and never finish.
    In time 2, these first data are encrypted. The server receives these data and It doesn't understand. In time 3, the server sends a HTTP response "501 Method Not Implemented", here there is a problem because this data must be encrypt. According to the documentation that I read, the proxy cannot "understand" this data but I can "understand" this data. What's happen?
    Firefox encrypt the data and send to the proxy. This It's correct.
    The proxy encrypt the data another time, because I use the SSLSocket to send the data to the server. Then the server receives the data encrypted two times, when decrypt the data gets the data encrypted one time. And this is the reason why the server doesn't understand the data that sends Firefox. It's correct? May be.
    Then If I want that the server receives the data encrypted one time I need to use the socketToServer, It's correct?
    I will supposed that yes. If I use the socketToServer, the proxy doesn't understand nothing, because the data received from the socketToServer are encrypted (I only see simbols), but the Apache log says that there is a problem with the version? (If I use the socketToServer the threads die)

    What option is the correct? I need use the SSLSocketToServer or socketToServer to send/read the data to/from the server?. Use the SSLSocket has sense because the data travel in a secure socket, but use the Socket also has sense because the data are encrypted and they are protected by this encription. It's complicated...

  • Help needed in HTTP Tunneling - urgent

    Hi all,
    I urgently need a working code sample of a client which sends requests to a server that redirects the request to an RMI server via RMI servlet.
    Does any of you familiar of such a code sample?
    Thanks

    I'm sorry, but HTTP Tunneling is not working for me. I must have done something wrong.
    Let me describe my configuration:
    I have a server behind NAT router which connected to apache2 and tomcat 4.1 web servers. The apache2 and tomcat are not connected between them.
    I deployed war file on tomcat which contains the servlet for the HTTP Tunneling which its code is:
    public class RmiHttpTunnelerServlet extends HttpServlet
        public void init(ServletConfig config) throws ServletException
            super.init(config);
            System.out.println("Simplified RMI Servlet Handler loaded successfully.");
        public void doPost(HttpServletRequest req, HttpServletResponse res) throws ServletException, IOException

                    param = "";
                else
                    command = queryString.substring(0, delim);

  • Help needed about thread priority

    Hello, could someone help me with the priorities in java? I got 10 levels in total(1-10), but I do need at least 20 levels for my multiple threads program.
    Thank you for your kind help in advance.

    First, let me apologize if I am incorrect, but it seems that the native Thread implementation restricts you to 10 priorities regardless.
    However, you can do just about anything you envision, but it will require some implementation on your part.
    You could implement a subclass of thread that contains your priority (which could be from 1-20). You could then maintain a ThreadManager that would store all running threads, and would accept requests to start and stop threads. The ThreadManager could make decisions about which threads to run, which to interrupt, which to sleep, etc., based on your priority value.
    This sounds like alot to swallow, but I'm sure it's doable if you understand threads.

  • Little help needed regarding http and https

    Hi,
    I maintain a website for my organization. Recently, for a login page, I started using HTTPS. It works fine with HTTPS.
    The problem I face is : When a user goes to login page, he sees the login page via HTTPS. Now, if user doesn't submit the login form but chooses to browse some other link on the same page, that page will still be shown using HTTPS because links are relative. This increases unnecessary HTTPS traffic on the server.
    I need a solution that can help me to change protocol back to HTTP if the user doesn't submit login form. I have written small piece of java script that can check at the time of leaving the page. If submit button wasn't pressed, it should change the protocol back to HTTP. I have played around window.location object trying to change it's href property. But, no luck yet. Please help me.
    window.onunload = function()
    // if submit button wasn't pressed, change the protocol back to HTTP
              if (!submitPressed)
                        window.location.protocol="http:";
                        alert(windows.location.href);
                     window.location.port = "80";
            }Please let me know if you know about some simple solution.

    Just to clarify, before anyone can answer: Do you have access to the web server settings, and are you looking for a server side solution for this problem? If the answer to any of those two question is no, and you are just looking for a javascript help, this forums is not the best source for answers.

  • Help needed about JSTL

    We have tomcat server, in which we are running some jsp files( which consists some bean classes). We want to convert those bean classes into jsp tag libraries.Even we have installed jakarta tag libraries , but we are unable to run jstl files. Help wanted urgently.
    ThanX in advance.

    Your note has two problems in it: (1) Custom tag libraries of your own making, and (2) Running JSTL. I'd like to address the second of the two.
    I'm not sure what you downloaded from Jakarta. I'll assume that you're using JSTL 1.0.3 standard JSTL. (That's what I'm using.) The ZIP file I downloaded has a lib directory with 10 JARs in it. You'll need to put all 10 of them into your WEB-INF/lib directory for your app to use them.
    You don't have to put a <taglib> in your web.xml, and you don't need to dig out any TLD files. The TLD files you need are already inside the standard.jar that you downloaded with the JSTL. You should not be trying to re-create what is already correct.
    The pages that use the JSTL should have a tag like this near the top:
    <%@ taglib prefix="c" uri="http://java.sun.com/jstl/core" %>The uri attribute value must match the value in the c.tld file located inside standard.jar exactly:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1" ?>
    <!DOCTYPE taglib
      PUBLIC "-//Sun Microsystems, Inc.//DTD JSP Tag Library 1.2//EN"
      "http://java.sun.com/dtd/web-jsptaglibrary_1_2.dtd">
    <taglib>
      <tlib-version>1.0</tlib-version>
      <jsp-version>1.2</jsp-version>
      <short-name>c</short-name>
      <uri>http://java.sun.com/jstl/core</uri>

  • Help needed about Xorg.

    Hi guys.

    I would like to get my videocard working 100%
    I'm about to build a Mediecenter, and got and hauppaugePVR 500 - But that's only for recording the TV ??? or is it also for wieving tv?
    I have also a normal graphiccard with S-video out on. Wich one of these shold be connected to the TV. When I used the normal card - there's a lot of interference/stribes on the screen.
    But is it made that you also use the Hauppauge to watch tv on?
    And how do I configure xorg to handle the tv-out. I've look in other threads about this - but have not figured it out . Can someone please tell me more.

  • Help needed about using wifi

    Please can somebody tell me in words of one syllable exactly what I need to start using an ipad for surfing the internet?  I want to use it to access web pages while I'm out and about.  Do I need a contract with a phone carrier?  Does it need to be a mobile phone carrier?  Could I use my landline number if I have broadband access on that?
    I just can't work out whether I can use the ipad straight away without doing anything or whether I need to involve a mobile or landline/broadband supplier.
    Please help - I'm soo confused.

    a Local area network also called LAN network is what most people use in their house
    it's cables you connect 1 or more computers to get Internet and  access files from eachother
    wifi id 100% that!
    just without the cable
    you have wifi router with a password on
    you go into the settings on the ipad and choose the wifi router name on the list and type in the password
    and you're able to go online
    if you are not within reach of your wifi network you need to reply on public wifi networks if any are aviable where you are at the given time some would be free some would require you to pay them for service
    you only need to contact a phone carrier if you don't wish to use wifi because you have an ipad which along side wifi support 3g internet then you need to contact a carrier and get a micro sim and a contract
    if you already have an mobile phone which qualify as a smart phone you may be able to use that as a wifi hotspot to get on the internet using the phone but in some places this require you to pay extre to your phone contract

  • Help needed about Nearline storage in BW 3.5.

    Hi Guys,
    Can you please provide me with some documents for implementing Nearline storage scenarios in BW 3.5.
    Thanks,
    Punkuj...

    Hi Punkuj,
    We use Nearline storage to store the data that is never been user or used very rarely.For example we have data for year 1960 in the data targets and now it is 2007.So mostly the management never uses this data or they uses them very rearly.So when we retrive the data from the data targets the DB unnecessarly reads the data every time when a report is generated on those targets.So to avoid this performance issue we store that kind of data in a seperate disk and we access that data using a multi provider when we need that in Report.This data is also known as Dormat data.
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Arpit,
    You can use following code to find user-exits in any SAP standard transactions...
    Finding the user-exits of a SAP transaction code
    Enter the transaction code in which you are looking for the user-exit
    and it will list you the list of user-exits in the transaction code.
    Also a drill down is possible which will help you to branch to SMOD.

  • Help needed about regex usage.

    hi all,
    i am kind of new to java.util.regex, and i can't solve this problem:
    i have a big string, that actually represents the text code of a method. in this method, i have an object, called, let's say "visitor" and i call several non static methods of it. i need to search this string and put into an ArrayList<String> all the occurrences of visitor, the method called, and its parameters.
    if i wasn't very clear, here is an example:
    the input string: "public void test_add()
              TemplateTestMethodVisitor visitor = new TemplateTestMethodVisitor(XMLArrayListTest.class);
              XMLArrayListComparer comparer = new XMLArrayListComparer();
              while(visitor.moveNext())
                   fillArrayList(visitor);
                   Exception exception = null;
                   try
                        _testedArray.add(visitor.getParameterAsInt("position"), ValueFactory.getMemberValue(visitor,
                                  visitor.getParameterAsString("type"), "ElementValue"));
                   catch(Exception e)
                        exception = e;
                   ExceptionValidator.validateException(visitor, exception);
                   if(exception != null)
                        continue;
                   VisitorAssert.assertEquals(visitor, "The content of the array list is not as expected.",
                             visitor.getResultAsCollectionData("List"), _testedArray, comparer);
    and i need to obtain an ArrayList<String> with {"visitor.moveNext()", "visitor.getParameterAsInt("position")" , "visitor.getParameterAsString("type")", "visitor.getResultAsCollectionData("List")"}. and it would be very helpful for me to do this using regex, but i can't think of a right pattern...
    thank you all.

    import java.io.*;
    import java.util.regex.*;
    public class TestRegexp {
      public static void main(String[] argv) {
        Pattern p = Pattern.compile("visitor\\..*?\\(.*?\\)");
