Also a sound from a banner is like STICK in to my browser, everytime i enter the same website were a saw a banner it plays that sound, even when that banner is no longer there 1 year ago.
Any suggestions.
Ty!!

HI,
Try Safari maintenance.
First, from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari/Empty Cache.
Next, from the Safari Menu Bar, click Safri/Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.
Open System Preferences/Sound and select "Sound Effects". Deselect where you see:
Play user interface sound effects and see if that makes a difference.
Open System Preferences/Universal Access and select the Seeing tab.
Make sure Voice Over is not selected.

  • Voice Over in FCPX makes no sound

I recorded a Voice Over in FCPX- and I can see the waveform but it makes no sound.  It moves the meters but makes no sound.  There is other sound playing.  What's up with that? any angels?

Just to be sure, select the audio clip and press 'V' (this activates or deactivates a clip). Does this make any difference?
Otherwise, I suggest you try trashing your preferences.
Unexplained faults like this can often be fixed by clearing out FCP X's preferences (for some reason, they get knotted up from time to time).
Download Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager (free, simple to use, and perfectly safe, both to download and use).
With Preference Manager, you can backup the Prefs first, then if trashing makes no difference, you can restore all your settings.
If you trash them and don't restore them, you will need to manually restore all your FCP X settings again, so it's a great idea to backup Preferences from time to time when FCP X is working well, then if they get corrupted you can ditch the bad prefs and restore from your (Digital Rebellion) backup.
Can't guarantee it, but it's worth a try.

If you're running iTunes 11 and you don't see the menus, press Control-B or go to the small icon with the arrow at the extreme upper left and select "Show Menu Bar":
Apple for some inexplicable reason elected to hide the menus by default in the Windows version of iTunes 11.
I doubt that this will address a download problem, though. You'll need to provide more details about that; what device you're attempting the download on, the exact error message, and other such pertinent information.

  • Hyperlink color doesn't change when hovering over link

I create hyperlink, color I select for hovering over link works fine. But sometimes when I publish to my website the link color does not change, but the link works ok. I go back to my mac and check, sure enough the color changes just fine. I wipe out the link and reinsert new one. Works fine on the mac, but when I publish, color does not change when hovering. Help.

Welcome to the discussions. This is a long shot, but try clearing your browser's cache and reloading the page — then see if the color changes when hovering. ( In Safari, click on the Safari menu and choose +Empty Cache...+ )

  • "Confetti" appears in Firefox, animates with mouse movement over links. What's the problem?

There are bits of "confetti" that appear all over the Firefox window and change positions/color/shape whenever something on the window changes or is animated (mousing over links, allowing a cursor to blink, active video in the window.) Colors vary from blues, brown, purple, pink, and reds.
I've noticed that this problem does not replicate in other web browsers (others being IE and Chrome). I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but that does not appear to solve the problem.
This problem only occurred after watching "The Daily Show" today and has been persistent since, even on other websites with video. (Sorry John Oliver, I wish it was something else.) However, there are no "confetti" effects if I activate the video to full screen.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

Weird display artifacts immediately make me think of possible graphic driver incompatibilities. Not sure why results would differ between embedded Flash and full screen, but... I suggest disabling hardware graphics acceleration in Firefox and, if that doesn't help, in Flash.
    (A) In Firefox, un-check the box here and restart:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced > General > "Use hardware acceleration when available"
    (B) In Flash, see this support article from Adobe: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
    Any improvement?

  • Help I clicked a link in an email that seemed to be Amazon.  I do not have virus protection.  Am I in trouble?

Help  I clicked a link in an email I thought was Amazon about an order cancellation.  I do not have virus protection.  Am I in trouble????

Not likely. More likely is that this was a phishing attempt. If you did not type your name and password into a web page dialog requesting it then you do not need to concern yourself with anything. Merely clicking a link in an email may have loaded a page in Safari but if you simply closed that page you're OK - especially if that page said you were infected with something. You were not.
If you did type your name and password then change it in every account that uses that password.
Run Software Update to make sure you have all available updates. OS X already contains all the virus protection you need.
At present there is no way for a virus attached to an email to affect your Mac.

  • Help with voice-over on Ipod nano

I'm totally blind and am using the 60g Ipod Nano with voice-over inabled. I am finding though even though the voice speaks the names of the menus, ie music, albums etc it doesn't speak the names of my albums or songs or tracks. What have I done wrong? I've tried connecting and leaving it to see if any voice tags are made, but nothing has happened. Any help would be welcome, it's driving me mad Many thanks from Lori.

    Try resetting your iPod.
    1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
    2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
Since you are totally blind, perhaps some one can double check your voice over settings to make sure everything is updated.

  • Once in a while cursor will no longer hover over links/shortcuts?

Every once in a while after my 13" MBP (bought in July 2010) has been on for a while and has been put into standby a few times over the course of the day, the cursor will no longer "hover" over links and what not.  I am trying to find a good way to explain this.
For example, when this occurs, when I hover over the close window red button or the minimize button, it will no longer show the minus or the "x."  And when I hover over favorites on the top bar of safari, they will no longer darken when I hover over them.
One time when this happened, I accidentially clicked and dragged one of the favorites shortcuts from the top bar of safari and it wouldn't let go of it.  I could not close the program and I tried to shut it down, but it wouldn't so I had to do a hard shut down by pressing the button on the notebook's case.
Any idea of what is happening?

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4.0+ SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
'''''If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode''''', your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • A tiny little cry for help: mic in bootcamp makes me sound like a mouse!

I posted this on the InsanelyMac forum, and I thought I'd post it here too because I'm just that desperate for help... thanks in advance for reading.
I run a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo. When Snow Leopard came out I installed it and partitioned my drive to allow me to run Windows via bootcamp for the purpose of playing Aion with my husband.
The game works fine, although it only works correctly when I'm hooked to my large Dell monitor. The built-in display makes the mouse/cursor not function correctly in-game.
But that's relatively minor... the biggest problem is that the built-in mic, as well as any mic I plug into the Line In, makes me sound like a mouse when I speak. I SO don't want to be known as the squeaky mouse over ventrilo. (The problem occurs in a regular sound recorder too, so it is NOT ventrilo specific).
The audio device is listed as Intel High Definition Audio: Device ID 0x83847680, Audio ID 30 - whatever that means.
When I dive into the Control Panel audio preferences when booted into Windows, the driver is listed as IDT audio.
Audio output seems to function perfectly.
I would sure appreciate help if anyone has expertise or experience with this sort of thing. I'm at a little bit of a loss.
    TIA,
    Jen

Hey, I had a thought, I don't know if it'll work and won't get the chance to find out until later tonight if I'm not too tired or until later tomorrow.
I think that if the IDT drivers aren't installed in the first place, perhaps the issue can be averted entirely. However, it's going to take a bit of knowledge to do and some patience. The partition will need to be remade entirely so that one may end up with a fresh operating system. When the SL disk is put into the computer, instead of running the full driver setup, pick the drivers directly off the disk by exploring its folders and only install the ones you need. Instead of using the IDT drivers, I believe the SL disk also has Realtek HD audio drivers (if I remember correctly from the last time I looked). My thought is that this manual method can prevent having to deal with the IDT drivers which I believe are part of the issue.
I understand that reinstalling XP is a process in itself, but this is the only solution I can think of. If manually installing doesnt work, my next move would be to use the drivers that come off the Leopard disk instead of the SL disk.
Like I said, this is just a thought I have so when I get to it later I'll let you know how it goes unless you decide to give it a try before me.

  • How to make a sound play after I complete a download in safari

I am just wondering if there is a way to make a sound go off after I successfully complete a download in safari 5.0.5.
If anyone can help, I appreciate it!

I do not think there is one actually.  You could always look through the Safari Extention Gallary (https://extensions.apple.com/) and see if there is a 3rd party one you could use.

I'm not sure I've got a grasp on the issue you are having but let me give it a try
Website A is finished and you have uploaded it to the Internet, so it is LIVE.
You make a copy of Website A, and call it Website B, then make all required changes.
IF you uploaded Website B, then it is likely you will overwrite Website A. You must instead, upload Website B as a separate Website.
To publish to a new site:
    Click Publish.
Then click the expansion triangle left of Options.
Change Publish To setting to New Site
fill out rest of required details, and click OK to publish.
You'll now have two separate web-sites.
If you need to link between them, use absolute hyperlinks (the full URL).
    Hope this helps.

  • Yellow Box when hovering over links

    Hi All,
I have read a few discussions surrounding the 'yellow box' that appears when hovering over links in safari. Last I read some time ago revealed this is an intergrated 'feature' of safari. Is this still the case?? Or have enough users complained to have this 'feature' squashed (fingers crossed.....)
    Thanks

You may keep your fingers crossed.  Hovering produces the yellow information box.
    Ciao.

  • Why does my safari make my fans un so high on my macbook?

i keep having to go to the activity monitor to close down the safari prosessor to get my fans to keep from running on high, normally when i have to quit the prossesor it says it is running in the high 90's and sometimes even at 100,
why is it doing this and how can i make it stop (if possible)?

This is something that keeps coming up--some process runs wild and hogs the CPU and you have to quit it. Often it's a printer process, but it could be anything. Usually quitting it once is enough. But if it is happening repeatedly with Safari, there must be a reason. You could try emptying the cache and see if this helps. If not, you could try resetting Safari. If no joy you could even consider reinstalling Safari.
It sounds like Safari is going into some sort of loop and hanging up. With luck, emptying the cache will clear it.
    Good luck!

  • Help with Voice Over - clean up inspiration

Hi there, I'm recording some audio in my home for a video tutorial. Trouble is I'm getting some nasty sounds and it seems it's taking me forever to clean up the file.
Settings: using the Podcast Voice effect rack, using a blue yeti mic, nothing too professional about it.
    Trouble:
    - I constantly have to insert silence at the start of each new phrase. The Podcast voice effect even augments the inspiration effect, but even without it's quite obvious;
    - My "S"s are really strong, tried deesser, no big hit there
    - I constantly make a sound with my lips at the start of each phrase - not sure how to call it.
What can I do to automate the clean up process since I have over 5 hours of recorded audio? I'd like to be able to select a certain sound (like my inspiration) and totally remove it from everywhere. Tried that with the noise print, but didn't help.
If it's not obvious, I'm quite a newbie at this.
    Thank you.

It's hard to know where to start with this - but your problem isn't going to be solved by processing. You have to get the source recording done properly, and there's no way around this. If you want your results to sound like a professional production, then you have to approach it the way a professional voice artiste would.
Your initial problem is clearly in your microphone technique. You need to be 7-8" from the microphone, but not speaking directly at it. You want it either slightly above or below your mouth level, and offset to one side slightly - this will reduce a lot of the problems you are picking up, but not all of them. And get, and use, a pop screen.
To fix more of your problems, you are going to have to learn a sensible breathing techique - which invariably involves breathing in more slowly, and through your nose. Lip-smacking almost invariably results from drinking the wrong things (or nothing) before or during your recording session. Basic rules are - no coffee or tea or any other stimulants, and nothing which forms a mucus in your mouth, like milk. Basically, the best thing is to drink nothing but water anywhere near or during the time of your recording session.
Other things you should do include speaking in a controlled manner - make sure that you pronounce the ends of words at the same rate as the starts of them, and leave time to breath slowly between sentences - this also helps your audience to assimilate what you're saying.
Once you've sorted this out, you should end up with no more than a content editing session. As for your 5 hrs of material - well, you won't be able to fix it in a satisfactory manner whatever you do if it's as bad as you say, and you could easily spend more than 5 hrs failing to do this. So I know it's painful, but scrapping it is your best option here. Spend some time fixing the problems at source, and you'll get all the time back, and some, in the long run. So do a few experimental test runs, and listen to the results - you'll soon find out what helps and what doesn't.
