HELP : Replacing Space with any character !

Hi !
How do I replace any spaces in a strings passed from a FORM INPUT, with a different character.
I tried doing this
String s= request.getParameters("info");
s.replace(' ','_');
But it keep giving me error.
it there any simpler way of doign this?

I am new to JSP,
It keep giving a null pointer exception when i use it with JSP
So i did this it work fine on the try section
and once it is in the catch section it keeps giving me Nullpointer exceptions again.
IS there any other way replacing the space with a "-" or anything..?

Read the name value using get_attribute method. let say lv_name.,
now.,
concatenate '%' lv_name '%' into name.
select pernr ename from pa0001 into lt_tab where name like name.
now set lt_tab to result list.

For the Browser and Email setup, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
2) Resend Service Books
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
For the # character, are you saying you cannot type that character at any time? Or that you cannot access whatever dialing strings your carrier provides for balances and such?
In any event, if the above does not work for the Browser and Email, then you must contact your mobile service provider to ensure you are subscribed to, from them, an adequate data plan to enable the services you desire. When you do, you can ask them also about the # key problem.

I have searched the forum and online and have not found an
answer.
So posting here for assistance.
What is the proper syntax for replacing spaces in file names
with under
scores prior to cffile upload? -or- what is the best method
to accomplish
this process?
Example:
document name.doc >> document_name.doc

you can't change the filename before the file has been
uploaded to your
server.
upload a file using cffile.
#cffile.serverfile# variable will contain the name with which
the file
has been saved on your server.
check if the name contains any spaces using find() cf
function.
if it does, use cffile action="copy" to copy the file as a
file with no
spaces in the name (use replace() cf function to replace
spaces with
whatever you want).
[you may want to make sure prior to copying the file that
there is not
already a file with same name (with no spaces) in that
folder, otherwise
the copy action will overwrite existing file]
delete original file.

I have created a calculatd Keyfigure where if the consition given in the calculated KF satisfies then it displays 1 otherwise space ,now mu user wants space to be replaced by some special charcter

My ckf is like this overallscore >= 90 & Iam applying count on this

As vendor y is not satsifying the condition its showing with space now I want to replace space with some special char how is this possible

You can try this: Instead of space, fill this with a 0. Then in the query properties, set the Show Zero As and give your special char, like may be *. But this will be okay if you do not have other zeros in the report...else you may need to do some VB coding.

Layers to files: replace spaces with underscores

How can I update the script to replace spaces with underscores on export? I assume I need to add a line somehwere between 183-195 but I don't know what it needs to be. Thanks in advance.

You may have installed one or more of the common types of ad-injection malware. Follow the instructions on this Apple Support page to remove it. It's been reported that some variants of the "VSearch" malware block access to the page. If that happens, start in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime, then try again.
Back up all data before making any changes.
One of the steps in the article is to remove malicious Safari extensions. Do the equivalent in the Chrome and Firefox browsers, if you use either of those. If Safari crashes on launch, skip that step and come back to it after you've done everything else.

But i want to replace only long spaces with "=" as "a bit much =a little much"
How can i do that?

This version uses two spaces to split the string and then trims any additional single spaces. It returns "a bit much = a little much".

CLOB to BLOB replacing spaces with Â

I have a CLOB that we are converting to a BLOB using DBMS_LOB.CONVERTTOBLOB and then serving it up as a file using WPG_DOCLOAD.DOWNLOAD_FILE. When you open the file, it is replacing the spaces with a Â.
Any thoughts?

Most likely, the spaces in the original CLOB were not regular spaces (0x20) but rather non-breaking spaces (0xA0).
What's the target encoding used to convert to BLOB? I suppose UTF-8?
UTF-8 encodes non-breaking spaces as 0xC2A0, where 0xC2 is specifically the codepoint for "Â". So I think the tool you're using doesn't support UTF-8, or doesn't recognize the file as being properly encoded.

When generating layers it replaces spaces with underscores

I am working now with RH8, and when I am saving projects and give the name, let's say "my file.chm" it replaces the space with an underscore and the name becomes "my_file.chm". Is it possible to do anything about that?

I think that what I said means you cannot generate with spaces.
Bug? It has done it that way for several versions and I believe it is important if you are creating merged CHM help.

Backup DC past tombstone and need help replacing it with another DC with the same name and IP

Hey Everyone
We have a single domain in a forest with 2 DCs with AD integrated DNS configured. The primary DC with all the FSMO roles is a VM (Server 2008 R2) and the backup DC is a physical server (Server 2008 non-R2).
The backup DC's hardware is very old and has been giving us a lot of issues where the system would intermittently BSOD, freeze, black screen only etc. and as a result, the server was turned off for a very long time, definitely beyond the default tombstone
lifetime of either 60 or 180 days.
We want to replace this bad backup DC with another physical server which became available as a spare and is much newer and in a working condition hardware wise. We also wish to ultimately give it the same name (FQDN) and IP to basically make it an outright
replacement for the current bad backup DC.
My questions are:
1.) If we are in a position where the bad server could possibly physically boot and start the operating system and have network connectivity, will we be able to use DCPROMO as one would normally do to demote this DC, or will it have to be done forcefully,
while keeping in mind as I said that the DC is way past the tombstone lifetime period?
2.) If it has to be done forcefully, I am aware that the meta data needs to be cleaned up in AD on the working primary DC, although I have never performed such a process before. If this is done, are there any other things I need to look out for or do
before I attempt to replace it with the other server which I will set up wit the same name (FQDN) and IP, then add to the domain, and then lastly promote as per normal using DCPROMO?
I know we will have to upgrade the scema to 2012RM as the replacement backup DC will be running this newer operating system.
Anything else you wish to add or point out to me would be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

I would suggest please do the metadata cleanup using the script and then remove object from below DNS console and then run the repadmin /syncall /Aed

         Cross check the removal – dsa.msc [ad users and computers] > Domain Controllers OU
Adsiedit.msc
Expand domain partition, select OU=Domain Controllers, make sure only the necessary domain controllers are listed.
Delete the incorrect domain controllers.
Dnsmgmt.msc [Dns Management]
      Expand the forward lookup zones\_msdcs folder
i.      Make sure only the actual domain controllers are listed, delete wrong Alias recordsremove wrong name server records
ii.      Select the container [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\dc\_sites_\sitename\_tcp] > delete incorrect _ldap and _kerberos records are listed.
iii.      Select the container [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\dc\_tcp] and delete incorrect _ldap and _kerberos records
iv.      Expand the [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\domains\guid\_tcp] and delete incorrect _ldap entries
v.      Select [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\gc] – delete incorrect HostA records
vi.      Expand the [forward lookup zones\_msdcs.domain.com\gc\_sites\sitename\_tcp] – delete incorrect _ldap entries

Photoshop CS4 is replacing spaces in the filenames with dashes. How do I make it stop doing that?

in save for web? look at the options. probably set to unix file systems. you know that file names on the web (if that's your intended use) may not contain spaces, rigth?
