Help - run-time visualization

I need some advice on a project...
I have to develop a run-time visualization tool that implements a 3x3 mesh topology and follows a distance vector routing algorithm.
I have to graphically demonstrate the execution of the routing algorithm and execution of the sliding window between adjacent nodes, as well as operation of the go-back N approch.
Anyone have hints on how to get started?
I'm very new to swing.

Can't you just use the Initialize Array function outside the formula node and pass that instead?

HELP: Run-time array dimension in LabVIEW formula node

I need to dimension an array at run time within a formula node as follows:
int32 i,N;
N = sizeOfDim(inputArray,0);
float64 outputArray[N];
for (i = 0; i outputArray[i] = myfunction(inputArray[i]);
However, LabVIEW complains "Formula Node: index list expected". On the
other hand, if I say
float64 outputArray[1000];
LabVIEW is perfectly happy. But that's not what I need to do! Is there
an alternative
way of accomplishing my goal?
BTW, I've tried calculating N outside the formula node and then
presenting it as
an input with the same results. I've got a bad feeling that run time
array dimensioning
just isn't allowed.

Loading the final static variables at run time.. Please help

Please help me figure out the best way to do this:
I need to load all my constants at run time. These are the public static final instance variables. The variables values are in the DataBase. How do I go about loading them.

Your original question was diffeent, but your further posts show what you really want to do:
1) all constants in 1 class
2) available readonly for other classes
3) updatable during runtime by changing in the database
Did I understand you right?
Then smiths' approach solves point 2):
Instead, make the variables available through a method
call - that way you avoid the whole final variable
versus read-only attributes problem.

Each "constant" should be a private static variable, and these methods simply return their values.
The variables are initialized in a static initializer by accessing the db. Ok.
You habe a table with one row containing as columns all the constants.
A method readConstants() does a "select constant1, constant2, ... from const_table" and sets all the variables.
The static initializer calls this method.
Right?
Ok, then you simply call readConstants() everytime you want to synchronize with the actual content of const_table.

While we run the above SQL as scheduler task, we do not see any output. However when we run this as a standalone, we see the results. Please advice if we have missed any step while run the report as schedule task.

Have you:
1. Assigned a valid agent to your task - and have you checked that agent found is within the range of valid agents
2. If you have transported / or is testing on another client, remember that agent assignment must be made on that system as well - and remember - SWU_OBUF.
3. if this does not help check the authorizations - display access to authorization PLOG is required for infotype 1000, 1001 for objecttype AC.

I'm having problem with the code below. But if I were to remove the writer class and instances of it (writeman), then there are no problems. Can some1 pls tell me why the writer class is giving problems. Btw, no compilation errors, only errors at run-time..........

I assume the exception you are getting is a NullPointerException...
When you applet is loaded, it is initialised with a call to init... the following will then occur...
HelloWorld.init()
writeman.paintit(f)
// f has not been initialised, so is null
brush.drawString("can u see me", 20, 20)
// brush == f == null, accessing a null object causes a NullPointerException!
The simplest way to rectify this is to not maintain your own reference to the Graphics object. Move the writer.paintit(f) method to the HelloWorld.paint(g) method, and pass in the given Graphics object. Also, change the paint(f) call in Changer to repaint(), which will cause the paint method to be called with a valid Graphics object - which will then be passed correctly to writer.

Now there is no Run time error but still Leave overview is taking time .

A dynamic table based on run-time created view object -- please help!

I'm trying to create a dynamic table based on an run-time created view object. All go ok, but table binding component take the first view/iterator state and don't reflect changes they have. Please, take a look:
1. At run-time the view is being replaced by new red-only one based on query in application module:
getQueryView().remove();
createViewObjectFromQueryStmt("QueryView", statement);
2. Page definition file contains an iterator (using iterator or methodIterator - doesn't matter) binding and table, which binds to the iterator, like:
<methodIterator id="distributeQuery1Iter" Binds="distributeQuery1.result"
DataControl="QueryServiceDataControl" RangeSize="10"/>
<table id="distributeQuery11" IterBinding="distributeQuery1Iter"/>
3. The page code uses <af:table>. But, if I use table binding (it's right) like this:

<af:forEach items="#{bindings.distributeQuery11.attributeDefs}" var="def">
the table will never changed (i.e. still show the first view instance).
When I tried to use iterator binding directly (it's bad and cannot provide all needed features unlike CollectionModel from table binding) I saw that table works!

<af:forEach items="#{bindings.myIterator.attributeDefs}" var="def">
Why the table binding do not reflect changes in iterator? Or should I use different approach?

I got it to work! I used a hybrid approach comprised of some of your code and some of Steve Muench's AcceessAppModuleInBackingBean example.
In the setBindings method, I execute an app module method that redefines the query, then I used your code to delete and recreate bindings and iterator:

When I run it I get my desired results. One thing I don't quite understand is why when the page is first rendered it shows the last set of records rather than the first. Now I have to figure out how to put navigation URLS in each of the table cells.

How to get info from a .class file at run time? thanks for help

I need to get methods and properties (variables) from a .class file at run time.
as u know, javap.exe can do that in an independent way. but i need to get info at run time once the .class or packeges have been changed, javap is not suitable in the case.
i try to read data directly from .class file but it's hard to know the file format.
e.g. a class looks like (java file):
class MyClass extends Frame
int i0;
String s0;
public String getName()
if the file is compiled to .class file, how to get properties (variables: i0,s0) and methods String getName() from the .class file by an applicaton at run time?
Doclet is not suitable for speed reason, it is too slow to get right info in right format.

Help - Edit cell of a multicolumn listbox at run time

I am populating rows and columns of a multicolumn listbox from a file at run time. However, after the data is loaded in the listbox I want to have the option of changing cell value.
Can I do that? If so, how?

Hi,
You have to use the property item names witch is a 2D string array.
Then replace the elements you want to change in that array and write it back to the table.

Help for run-time menu localization

I would like to dynamically change the run-time menu according to the predefined language setting. For example, if the setting (may be set up in a txt file) is German, then when the application is running, it automaticall display a german menu. if the setting is spanish, the menu will change to spanish display. Any help will be appreciated.

The attached VI can dynamically change the run-time menu and short-cut menu based on language.

Trying to upgrade my i-phone 3 operating system to ios-5. The program seems to download fine, but at the end it says network run time error and then I have to cancel it out and try again. Tried 5 times and I can't upgrade the system. help?

I am trying to upgrade the operating system on my i-phone 3 to ios-5. I download the program and it runs and downloads. When almost finished, an error occurs that says Network run time error. This cancels out the download. I have tried 5 times with the sdame result. Can anyone help? Thanks

This is asked and answered frequently... a simple search of the forums would have revealed that disabling any Anti-Virus and Firewall software on the computer prior to downloading will rectify the issue.

I got a run time error for my very short program please anyone help me!!!
My source code is

I set path to jdk14b2\bin ,
and I set classpath to jdk14b2\lib
I compiled it with no error by using
=>javac LKOracleDB.java
then when I tried to run it with
=>java LKOracleDB
It show this error
=>Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: LKOracleDB
.... What could be the problem? Please help..

Is your source file in a package?No, my source file is not in any package what u see is all code in my .java file. Do I need to put it in package? If so please tell me a little bit more.
Are you running the java command from the same >directory that you compiled the code from?Yes, I recheck it.
Your main() should be (String[] args) or else it is not >considered a valid main for the JVM to start. I change it but It still not work...?

Without Event Structure, Run-Time Menu works well, but Run-Time Menu works abnormally.after adding Event Structure,
How do I modify the problem?

Yes they can coexist, but not how you did it.
Every iteration of the while loop you wait for an event in the event structure, and you look if the user has selected anything from the menu.
To get this working you should add an event for <this VI>\Menu Selection (User):

PS you should add a stop button, the only way you can stop the VI is hitting the 'emergency stop' button, with hardware connected (like you have) this is not the adviced routine
