My laptop has 4 touch sensitive sensors (on the top right corner - volume control etc.). They're not responding whenever I press them but my touchpad (i.e. the mouse bit) works.
    What can I do?
My 1 year warranty is still valid. Do you know if I will be charged for having it checked? Thanks and I appreciate your help.

  • Context Sensitive Help: Creating Links to the same .htm file

    Hi Everyone,
My Help Context Sensitive application requires the exact name
    of the .htm file to
bring it up. However, previously different fields on the
    application used to have
different .htm file, associated with them. However now, I
    have them all within
the same .htm file. But, I have to still keep the old links.
As a results, I have to
keep copying the same .htm file into different names to use
    the previously
    established link.
Is there anyway, I can link all these .htm files to one .htm
    file (call it origin.htm)
such that while the application still finds the old .htm
files, bu they are linked to
orgin.htm such that a required modification be only done in
    origin.htm file.
I hope, I have been clear in expressing what I need.
    thanks Alot.

    Hi Oufi
One way you could accomplish this is by converting each of
these .HTM files to something called a
redirect page. You can read more about redirect pages in the
    article linked below:

  • Trackpoint does not work after switching from the tablet to laptop mode.

I use my tablet to run a smartboard. Sometimes when I switch to the tablet mode and back by reversing the display, the trackpoint and mouse keys stop working. The touchpad below it still works. I am running windows 7. I have gone into the control panel, under mouse, and both the trackpoint and touchpad are still both checked. ?? When I restart the functions return.

    Hi Remaxjoe,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m really sorry to hear that trackpoint is not working properly in your Lenovo system.
I would suggest you to download the Ultranav drivers for your system and install it.

  • How to create a table with 3 inputs one of which is received from a sensor and the other 2 are constants

i want to create a table that has 2 angles (beta and theta) that could assume values from 0 to 180º and gamma that is given from a sensor to the table at every moment... all angles depend of each other and i want a table that demonstrates that. so i can pull a data to use it in a equation. can someone help with this mess?

    alufe wrote:
I have to make an array for each angle and connects them?
That's one way. You end up with multiple 2-D arrays. You also could make a 3-D array to iterate through all your beta/theta arrays, calculating a gamma for each pair, if you understand arrays of multiple dimensions. You seem to indicate a major shortfalling in your math skills here, so I'll repeat, work with your teacher until you can understand the math, and then work on the programming.
You have to know what you want to do before you can do it. In this case, you have to know what that array represents, and how (I'm talking math now) you are going to determine/represent the one set of numbers you need to work with for each experiment before you set something up in software.

  • BASIC Help With Windows 8.1 tablet

I just bought the HP Stream 7 tablet. I'm an experienced computer user (since the early '80s). My desktop runs Windows 7. I have used an Android tablet for more than a year. This tablet is my first experience with Windows 8. I installed the Classic Shell so I could navigate in a more familiar setting, and this has helped somewhat. I also installed the driver for a wireless Logitech mouse, and that helps. But there is SO MUCH that confuses me about -- is the tablet or Windows 8.1 or both? -- this system, that I need some guidance. Two examples: Internet Explorer always displays pages that I don't want, yet closing those pages is not always successful. And then there's getting access to the keyboard. Sometimes just tapping into box where I should enter some text displays the keyboard. Often I can tap and tap and.....but no keyboard appears. I have looked at both the quick-start guide and the user manual, but they don't help me. Maybe I'm overlooking some obvious things, and maybe I've just become too impatient to solve these issues. I imagine I could search the Net to find some help, but I'm hoping that someone in this forum can point me toward Web pages that will help. Thanks.

To the best of my knowledge, mouse input in metro apps does not load the on screen keyboard (OSK). Whereas touch does. Having the mouse connected before the app loads is likely causing the app to recognize the mouse as the primary input device.
As I don't know the exact app in question to really reproduce the problem I downloaded a few of the top crossword apps and tested them.
Each of the apps I installed performed in this way:
Booting the device without a mouse connected resulted in the OSK loading.
Booting the device without a mouse connected, loading the app and connecting the mouse resulted in the OSK failing to load.
Booting the device with the mouse connected resulted in the OSK failing to load.
Booting the device with the mouse connected, loading the app and disconnecting the mouse resulted in the OSK failing to load. (Reloading the app resumed OSK functionality.)
This would confirm my earlier assumption that metro apps do not load the OSK with input devices connected, but was a surprise that disconnecting the mouse required me to restart the app before the OSK would work in the app again. It would appear to me after testing this in multiple apps on multiple machines (including a non-HP device) that this is simply the way WIndows 8 metro apps work.

  • What is the best way to zero a 'custom voltage with excitation' sensor from the front panel?

What is the best way to zero a 'custom voltage with excitation' sensor from the front panel?
    Thanks for any help

    Hi Donavan,
There are two options for zeroing with the NI-9237.  You can perform offset nulling and shunt calibration with a strain task, or if you use custom excitation you can use software compensation.
See the Bridge Balancing, Offset Nulling section in  the Load, Force, and Torque Measurements tutorial. Take a measurement before the strain is applied and subtract this from all subsequent measurements.  See the above tutorial to consider the tradeoff in accuracy between these two options.

  • Would the alarm clock works with the tablet is off / shutdown?

    Hi all
Some users (including me) will turn off / shutdown their device when they are asleep to conserve device battery life.
Would the alarm clock work if the tablet is off / shutdown? I do know some smartphone alarm clock would work when the smartphone is off and when it's ringing, it would just automatically turn on the device without user manually on it.
    Have a nice day!

  • Masking sensitive data in the messages?

    All,
We are getting some sensitive data from a legacy system that needs to be imported into R/3. There is a translation service - that translates the sensitive data into public format.
The question i have is - though we will be able to use XI to call this translation service and translate and then send the translated values to R/3, how can we mask the sensitive data on the messages that would be logged in the XI system. (Like if somebody runs the SXMB_MONI - they will be able to see the sensitive data that was sent to get the public format back).
Is there a setting or way - we can accomplish this in XI?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
you have to restrict user access to certain messages.
Go through this blog to see how to accomplish this:
    <a href="/people/michal.krawczyk2/blog/2006/01/02/xi-sxmbmoni--controlling-access-to-message-display: SXMB_MONI - controlling access to message display</a>
Also have a look at this link to understand which are all the possible points you should protect:

dianneb, great question and thanks for the help Weth. The good news is if you're on More Everything the mobile hotspot would be apart of your plan just as Weth mentioned. What you just want to keep in mind is that the usage from the tablet while connected to the hotspot would take from your current plan allowance. Hope this helps!

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
Sorry to hear that you can't turn on your tablets.
I recommend that you first try making a repair of the software in the tablet using a computer and PC Companion.
Start the software but don't connect the tablet and go to Support zone -> Software update -> Repair tablet.
When the software asks you to connect it with the cable, first force a shutdown by holding power and vol+ at the same time for 10 seconds. Then hold vol- and connect it to the computer.
If the issue should still remain I think that this needs to be examined and fixed at a repair center. For more information about how to submit your phone for repair and where, contact your local support team.

  • HELP with ADOBE ID & Asus tablet

I had been previously downloading ebooks from my library's digital library to my tablet's 'library' with no problems. Recently, there was an updated website...and when I went to download books I got some weird messages.
Long story short...I had to end up changing my Adobe ID password...and try to reauthorize but it seems to be not letting me open the books. There's some message about a previous ID...
What's weird is my husband was able to set up his elibrary, download books without an adobe id with no problem.
This has GOT to be an Adobe issue...my library's tech folks can't figure it out.
I need someone to call me, email me and help me fix this please!!!

The "My Library" that came with my Asus TF201 uses DRM...and the Maryland Library has this: http://maryland.lib.overdrive.com/C1E1F91E-4ADD-4431-8E23-8939F2617BDC/10/50/en/Default.ht m
I was using DRM fine and then I noticed that the MD Library totally updated their website one day. I was trying to download books and it appeared they were downloading but wouldn't open or they would be blank books (blank pages). So I downloaded the Overdrive software from the MD library..
Somewhere in the process it was asking me to do something with my Adobe ID. Well heck, I couldn't remember that I had one much less the password so I forced it to allow me to reset the password. I went thru the steps to "confirm" it under the DRM setting. Well...then it was telling me something to the effect that I already had an Adobe ID or that I had multiple ones. So it was like it wouldn't recognize the updated password.
Any attempts to download books are "unsuccessful" - it won't do anything. I know it has to do with that stupid Adobe ID.
My husband has an Asus tablet as well and we compared his settings with mine yesterday. He didn't download any Overdrive software...he's also not using any Adobe ID. But he's able to download his books straight to the tablet's "My Library" (.epub or .pdf format) just fine and read them from there using DRM.
I'm frustrated and pissed...he has the version ASUS tablet just before mine.
I keep reading about resetting the Adobe with the CTRL-SHIFT commands...but it didn't work!!! I'll try again later tonight. Could you send me the LINK to ADE when you say "start ADE"??
HELP!!!!! I don't want to use the Overdrive software...I want to continue downloading books to "My Library" and reading them thru that (DRM).

  • I cant get ECWID to work on my mobile devices, it only seems to use the desktop site rather that the Tablet or iPhone

I cant get ECWID to work on my mobile devices, it only seems to use the desktop site rather that the Tablet or iPhone? Can anyone help me?

    Hi Jim,
We’ll be glad to help you.
Ecwid supports responsive layout, which means that the store pages can adapt to the visitor's screen width on the fly and keep the layout clean and nice. Your products and categories lists will be fit for any window's size, as Ecwid will calculate the most suitable number of products or categories in row automatically. In other words, Ecwid looks great on any mobile devices. You can check how your Ecwid store may look on smartphones and tablets, if you see your Starter Site (what it is).
However, if you want Ecwid reveals itself in all its glory, you should embed your Ecwid store into website, which also support responsive layout, because if the site doesn’t adapt to size screen, Ecwid is not able to determine how it should be changed since it’s just a part of the site.
We’ve checked your site and found that you used Adobe Muse for building your site. Using Adobe Muse, you can create alternate site layouts for web content to be displayed on desktop, smartphones, and tablets. Nonetheless, your site has a layout for desktops only, that’s why it looks the same on all devices. You can learn how to create those alternate layouts in Adobe Muse, by reading “Creating a Website for Mobile Devices” article.
I hope this helps! But if there are any questions, don’t hesitate to reach us out on Ecwid forums.

  • Why is my app missing the tablet/phone icon in the Windows store when I have linked my phone app to my Windows Store app

I recently updated two apps that I had developed both Windows and Windows phone apps for.  They were not originally linked as they were developed before there was a linking process.  I updated both the phone apps to have the same in app purchases
as their corresponding Windows app and then linked their app package ids to there corresponding Windows apps as well.  However, only one of the two apps I updated now shows the Tablet/Phone icon in the Windows Phone store.  I would really like that
icon to appear as I think it will help downloads.  I linked the app packages the same on both apps so I don't know why one is showing the icon and the other is not.  The updated has been published for over a week so I don't think it's a timing issue.
    Please help.
