Help to create a table

Hi
I want to create a table that I will use to write on.
Its 2 columns but 6 rows. On the 1st, 3rd and 5th I want headers.
How do I create the headers as everytime I add one it adds it under the top header.

if you open inspector (top right. blue circle w/ white lower case 'i') and navigate to the table inspector (third from the right. tiny image of a table). select the cells that you want to become the header by either clicking and dragging or shift/command clicking on each cell. once the cells are selected, in inspector click the 'Cell Background' dropdown and choose 'color fill'
that should do it. if not, respond and ill see what i can do!

Need help in Creating External Tables

Hi All,
I have a flat file containing numberic data, CLOB data, and also date columns data. I have to load this flat file data into staging server table using External tables. I have to write a stored procedure in such way creating exteranl tables dynamically. My question or need help from you people is that how to define the external table to load the CLOB data from flat file.

The LOCATION clause of an external table specifies the file or files to be read when the table is queried. You can change it to refer to different files without dropping and recreating the table and invalidating all dependent code.
Regarding DBMS_SQL, yes you can do it the hard way if you prefer.
Good point about CLOB columns in external tables. Quite possibly they are not supported, but I would have to check the manuals and try some examples.

Well, in line number 15. I am passing a variable tablename as a parameter to dbms_datapump.metadata_filter but it exporting an empty dump. Could you please let me know how to pass a variable value in this.

Not able to create a table with more than 64 fields in dictionary

Hi,
I have created a java dictionary in Netweaver Developer studio. I have to create a table with more than 64 fields in it. I was able to create the table in dictionary, but when i tried to build it, I am getting an error message as "more than 64 fields are not allowed". If i create the table with 64 fields or below 64 fields, i can build the dictionary and deploy it.
That is, when i create a table with more than 64 fieds, I am not able to compile the dictionary, But if i reduce the fields to 64 or below, i can compile the dictionary.
Kindly help me to solve the problem.

Sudheesh,as far as I am aware creating of fields in the table actually depends on the total width of table that can be used for various Vendors.
So I actually tried out creating a table with too many fields,and I am reproducing the errors which I have obtained -
Error Dictionary Generation: DB2:checkWidth TMP_1: total width of table (198198 bytes) greater than allowed maximum (32696 bytes) TMP_1.dtdbtable TestDictionary/src/packages

I hope you can understand what the errors state.I am trying to create a table whose total width(sum of width all columns) is greater than the maximum allowed for various Vendors,such as DB2,MSSQL,SAPDB etc.

I'm trying to create a table for supervisors to enter in their subordinates information and will automatically insert rows for supervisors with multiple subordinates. This form will not be connected to a data source, the supervisors will simply fill in the form and print out. I want it to kind of look like this:

I know how to get total no available days of any month so i'll use for loop to create <tr>
The info i need is-
How to get the first day of the month ,the user entered using calendar because the first row should start with it.
and the second thing is...
How to keep incrementing it in the loop..like after sun-->mon-->tue....sat-->sun....
& also..sat & sun cols should be of different colors than other weekdays

Sounds like you already knows about the Calendar class. You should use that class to get the first day of the month.

I'm writing an application for data visualization. The user can press the "open file" button and a FileChooser window will come up where the user can select any data file. I would like to take that data file and display it as a table with rows and columns. The user needs to be able to select the coliumns to create a graph. I have tried many ways to create a table, but nothing seems to work! Can anyone help me?! I just want to read from the data file and create a spreadsheet type table... I won't know how many rows and columns I'll need in advance, so the table needs to be dynamic!

Lists allow you (dynamically) add elements.

Hi friends..I'm new to OBIEE. We can create the grand total column in pivot table. I need grand total as well as Grand average. How can I create a new column in pivot table that is same as grand total but calculates average.

Here is what you need to do...
1) In the Pivot Table View, click on the Measures column and select New Calculated Item.
2) In the pop-up window complete as follows:
Name: type "Total Average"
Function: Select "Average" from the drop-down window.
Click on the values in the right pane that you wish OBI to calculate the average for.
3) Click "OK."
You now have another column that is the average of the values in each row.

Error while creating temporary table

Hi All,
I am trying to integrate ODI and BAM . I have followed all the steps given in the guide.While creating interface i am getting the error while LKM is working.
I am using LKM SQL to SQL and IKM Oracle BAM Insert ( as the inserted data should be captured after inserting).

It seems the table(MMMORDERFILE_C$_REQUEST ) already exist in the work schema,so cant able to create and throw an error. can you tell me which KM you are using?

Error while creating new table

Hi
First I had deleted one custom table. Then I try to create the same table with different fields. Now I am gettinh the errors.
1. ZLV_COMP_TABLE: Inconsistency DD <-> DB (check table with analysis tool)
2. A table called ZLV_COMP_TABLE exists in the database
3. No active nametab exists for ZLV_COMP_TABLE
4. Termination due to inconsistencies
5. Table ZLV_COMP_TABLE (Statements could not be generated)
6. Error number in DD_DECIDE (9)
Please help me ... how can I create a table with same name.

Hello,
goto SE14 -- Give the table name
use Tables Radio button
click on Edit
check the Delete Data Radio button
click on ACTIVATE AND ADJUST DATABASE.
Now check the table in SE11.
If it still exits you can change the same table or Delete it again & create a new table with Same Name.
This might help your query.

Hi i tried to create external table. The table is created but while selecting that table it is throwing below errors
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN callout
ORA-29400: data cartridge error
KUP-04040: file Countries1.txt in EXT_TABLES not found
ORA-06512: at "SYS.ORACLE_LOADER", line 19I've created temp directory in window under oracle directory " C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\temp"
In the temp directory i've a text file countries1.txt
the text file has the below information

You are missing something. Most probably the file does not exists in your specified path. This is working in my 10.2.0.3
