Help troubleshooting DirectAccess issue

Hi All,
I was following the Windows 2012 R2 DirectAccess guide to build a lab for testing. I did a small changes in IP addressing but other then that it should be configured as per that MS guide. Here is the config:
As you can see Edge2 has been added and configured as NLB cluster. All components are green in Remote Access manager on both servers and NLB config is all green and converged.
NLS is on APP1 and works fine. Public name of DirectAccess server is edge1.contoso.com and this name is being resolved on external DNS running on INET1. to 131.107.0.2. Correct certificates deployed and configured.
When Client1 (windows 8.1) is on Corpnet all works fine, I can reach internal resources, fileshares, webs etc.
When Client1 is on Internet DirectAccess connection is in status "Connecting" forever. Transition technology used is IPHTTPS as I have disabled both 6to4 and Teredo.
PS C:\Users\user1> netsh interface httpstunnel show interfaces
Interface IPHTTPSInterface (Group Policy)  Parameters
Role                       : client
URL                        : https://edge1.contoso.com:443/IPHTTPS
Last Error Code            : 0x0
Interface Status           : IPHTTPS interface active
PS C:\Users\user1> get-daconnectionstatus

Substatus : NameResolutionFailure
I can ping IPv6 of DC1 and APP1 as well as IPv6 VIP of EDGE NLB. I cant however resolve or access anything via DNS name.

  • Need help troubleshooting EA6500 issue

I am using EA6500 router with Time Warner Cable and Motorola Model SB6141.
Every few days the router loses connection to modem.  I recently replaced the ethernet cable from router to modem which solved the problem.
Same issue this morning with modem/router.  I called Time Warner and they said the modem is fine and issue is router not maintaining connection to modem.  I am using only wired connections
Is something wrong with my router?  How can I tell issue is router as Time Warner suggests?
    Please help.  Thanks.

Hi atomarchio, to properly isolate your problem you have to disconnect the router from your network and connect your main computer directly to the Motorola Modem and observe the connection if it's going to drop or not. You have to observe it at least within 24 hours.

  • Need help troubleshooting Firefox issue

I've got this page pretty much working in IE and Opera but
Firefox is still giving me some issues.
    Here is the URL;
    http://www2.wgint.com/splash_test/splash_test_new_right2.php.
The issue I am having is the section that says "Featured
Projects". When you click on one of the numbers (1-4) only the
picture and text below it should fade and change, but the gray bar
above with "Featured Projects 1 2 3 4" is also fading.
Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Lee

    Hi,
You have this wrong behavior because you added the image and
the initial text inside the tab div, not inside the content div.
Now inside this div: <div class="AccordionPanelTab">
you added the content that is updated and has the effect applied on
    it.
You should move this content inside the content div: <div
class="AccordionPanelContent"> because you just want to update
the panel content not also the tab.
You should have somethig similar with this:
    <div class="AccordionPanel">
    <div class="AccordionPanelTab"><a href="#"
    onclick="fadeIt('test', 'pull.html'); return false;">Here is the
    link/a></div>
    <div class="AccordionPanelContent">
<div id="test">Initial content that will be updated
    and animated.</div>
    </div>
    </div>
    Hope this helps you,

  • Any ideas how to better troubleshoot VPN issue?

    Hi,
I've recently upgraded my WLAN router to a brand new AVM FRITZ!Box WLAN 7390, in part for its VPN capabilities.
So far, I've been unable to create a working connection.
AVM's VPN is based on Cisco IPSec, and they provide a step-by-step procedure on how configure a Mac-based VPN connection (http://www.avm.de/de/Service/Service-Portale/Service-Portal/VPN_Interoperabilita et/16206.php - unfortunately only available in German, sorry). Following it, I still can't get it to work. Contacting their support I got first the same procedure and after pointing out I already followed it a "we don't support other vendors".
Funny enough, I got a second VPN connection to my work's VPN server just fine, though admittedly there we have a true Cisco box.
My initial setup was based on a 192.x.x.x net on my AVM, I could establish a VPN connection but coudn't ping/ssh/http/you-name-the-protocol in either direction. Our companies net is a 10.x.x.x net so, and as I have also VMware fusion running on my Mac with DHCP enabled on a different 192.x.x.x net plus a third 192.x.x.x net from my Wifi access I decided to reconfigure my AVM net to a 172.x.x.x net and stop VMware services for the tests (ie simplify as much as I could to help troubleshoot).
Alas, instead of being able to establish a non-working VPN connection, now I ain't able to get the tunnel up. IKE Phase 1 completes but Phase 2 doesn't.
Here's the relevant section from kernel.log:

An earlies test in a Starbucks around here had the same result, during looking at the netstat -nr output I found I got onto a 10.x.x.x net on the Wifi and still could connect to the (different) 10.x.x.x net at work.
My TCP/IP Networking course was around 2000, but the default route seen in the non-working log section looks like bullsh*t to me anyhow: DEFAULT-ROUTE = local-address 172.77.7.14/32
On the other hand, the Phase 2 message seem to indicate a different mode for Phase 2 between the working and the non-working one.
This is from the exported config of my AVM box:

I also noticed an extra "IPSec port-mapping update for en1 ignored" message in the non-working log section, but I'm not sure a) how significant that might be, and b) how to find out what the ignored update might have been to decide whether not ignoring it would help.
A quick test with the AnyConnect Client from Cisco didn't help either, apparently it establishes an https connection first as I got a window which certificate details from my QNAP behind the AVM Box (I got a port forward for https to it)
So I'm looking for any ideas how to better troubleshoot this VPN issue...
    Many thanks in advance!

Ok, found a small typo in my config (had at one point a 172.77.7.14 instead of the 172.22.7.14), no I can also connect from the 172.x.x.x net but still no ping etc. The relevant section of the log looks now like this:

  • FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?

Hello.   The link FAQ: How do I troubleshoot audio issues when importing .MTS files?
does not work, and i need the answer please. My imported MTS clips are not playing back audio because it seems that no audio imported with the video.   Thanks, Don.

    Hi there
Audio plays when the object with the audio assigned appears. This is why you hear it when the Button appears.
Try assigning the audio instead to the object that appears when you click the button. Perhaps the caption.

  • Is there a phone number I can call to talk to a live person about help with Lightroom issues ?

Is there a phone number I can call to talk to a live person about help with Lightroom issues ?

well the reason I wanted to talk to someone live because it would take forever to explain everything on here But anyway, here goes. I have an HP Pavilion Notebook with Intel Core i5-323om CPU @2.60 GHz and 8 gb ram 64bit. I am trying to run Lightroom 5.7 on my laptop and having major issues. I use an external hard drive for the storage of my photos. When I try to use Lightroom I run into many issues: Flickering of the screen, freezing up, slow, the loading circle just goes round and round lol. If I go to the washroom or leave the computer for even a minute it freezes up. I have to keep pressing Ctr/alt/delete to bring it back when it flickers. I have to constantly exit out of the program and restart it to be able to edit even just a couple of photos and then it starts acting up again.
I have tried un-installing and re-installing, updating everything on my pc, changing compatibility settings, updating development settings, I even took the laptop into have it looked at and they did all kinds of updates etc...and still couldn't figure out why it wasn't working for me. I have gone through the lists of troubleshooting for LR problems and there just seem to be nothing that works.....I have made new catalogues, moved them, tried using the software on my pc without the EHD, etc etc.......I have tried EVERYTHING...I think.....so I was looking for some answers as to why this is happening....

  • Need help troubleshooting poor performance loading cubes

I need ideas on how to troubleshoot performance issues we are having when loading our infocube.  There are eight infopackages running in parallel to update the cube.  Each infopackage can execute three datapackages at a time.  The load performance is erractic.  For example, if an infopackage needs five datapackages to load the data, data package 1 is sometimes the last one to complete.  Sometimes the slow performance is in the Update Rules processing and other times it is on the Insert into the fact table.
Sometimes there are no performance problems and the load completes in 20 mins.  Other times, the loads complete in 1.5+ hours.
Does anyone know how to tell which server a data package was executed on?  Can someone tell me any transactions to use to monitor the loads while they are running to help pinpoint what the bottleneck is?
    Thanks.
    Regards,
    Ryan

    Some sugegstions:
    1. Collect BW statistics for all the cubes. Goto RSA1 and go to the cube and on tool bar - tools - BW statistics. Check thed boxes to collect both OLAP and WHM.
    2. Activate all the technical content cubes and reports and relevant objects. You will find them if you search with 0BWTC* in the business content.
    3. Start loading data to the Technical content cubes.
    4. There are a few reports out of these statistical cubes and run them and you will get some ideas.
    5. Try  to schedule sequentially instead of parallel loads.

  • Need help troubleshooting Report Query/BI Publisher

    Hi All --
I need some help with an odd issue I'm having with a report query and BI Publisher. The users run this report by inputting a date range, usually by week. Oddly enough, if we input a date range of 06/01/2008 through 06/07/2008, the report runs and BI Publisher renders the document correctly, but if we input a date range of 06/08/2008 through 06/14/2008, the report shows correctly on the screen, but BI Publisher returns an empty document. I thought perhaps it was an issue with the data, but inputting the date range of 06/01/2008 through 06/14/2008 works correctly and the document is rendered with all the data as shown in the report.
I'm really at a loss and don't know how to proceed in troubleshooting the issue. Does anyone know of any log files or anything else to look at to try and figure out why the report isn't being rendered correctly for that one week?
    Thanks!
    Leigh Johnson

    Thanks Marc --
The OC4J logs don't show any errors at the time I tried running the report. I did change the output format to XML and saved it for the date range that doesn't work as well as a date range that does work. As foar as I can tell, the only differences is the data within the tags, but I'm no XML expert so I may have missed something. I opened my report template and loaded the xml data first from the date range that produces a rendered report properly and used preview...as expected it worked. When I did the same thing for the "bad" date range, I get the following set of errors, should I move my issue to the BI Publisher forum do you think?

  • Delete row option doesn't work and then becomes greyed out. Need help troubleshooting.

    Hello!
I'm hoping that someone can please help me troubleshoot an issue I'm having with a table in my form. It has a menu associated with each row that allows you to add, delete, reset, etc. rows. The name of the table on the form is the Purchase Items table. It's the first table on the form.
Here are the steps to recreate the issue:
    1. Create 3 rows in the table
    2. Click the menu ("X") button associated with the first row.
    3. Select "Delete this row". Nothing happens.
    4. Click the menu ("X") button associated with the first row.
    5. Select "Delete this row" again. Nothing happens.
    6. Click the menu ("X") button associated with the first row. You'll notice that the "Delete this row" option is greyed out.
My best guess that the rows are being deleted in the background which would explain that if I have 3 rows, and "delete" 2, that my delete option is then greyed out because I believe there is logic in there such that if there is only 1 row then grey out the option to delete rows. I was planning to attach the file as I have seen others do but don't see the option. I'm happy to provide the file via email if that's easier. Thank you in advance!
    Saskia

    I've posted the solution here:
    http://www.fieldeffecttechnologies.com/AdobeForums/PCard.pdf
The instance manager methods were being given the wrong index of the row to work with. They need to be passed the index for the row that the button you are pressing is in (of course). Instead they were given some v8b index, which I honestly cannot decipher as to what that number possibly means. (Math.round((v3-v4)*v6........)???
Anyways, I fixed it up and also changed some of the logic in the sub menu to determine what's greyed out.
I like that feature! Might even show it to a client!

  • Troubleshooting cache issue

Does anyone know how I can troubleshoot my Portal Repository? I am having a cache problem, where whenever I make or edit anything in Portal I have to invalidate all the objects in web cache through web cache administration page before the changes will show up. It appears based on the stats that the web cache is caching too much and not invalidating them like it should. So I am thinking that maybe my Portal Repository is not notifying the web cache properly so that it knows when to invalidate an object. Does anyone know how can go about to check that this is working correctly or troubleshoot this issue? I greatly appreciate your help.

If the content is not being invalidated then most likely either there is a firewall blocking http communication between your database and your Web cache invalidation port, or you have configured the wrong invalidation port in the Portal repository.
You can see the Web cache invalidation port form the WC Admin UI, you can see what Portal thinks is the WC invalidation port in the EM UI on the Portal page.

The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet.  Are you still using the same wireless router.  The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace.  For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio.   I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

Sorry to say it, but I think you can see from Bob's response that there's no way to solve this rapidly.
Did you take an image of your Mountain Lion install before upgrading to Yosemite? Roll back to that. If you're not in the habit of taking a snapshot of your system before performing operating system upgrades - get in that habit. If you are dependent on anything at all on hour computer, having a reliable backup method in place is essential. If you don't have a Time Capsule, or some other way to run Time Machine onto a disk that's not in your computer, go set that up yesterday.
If you can't just remove Yosemite and roll back to Mountain Lion for whatever reason, you can partition your drive so that you can install both Yosemite and Mountain Lion on the same drive, and then boot into Mountain Lion when you need to work in CS5. Or you can take your Mountain Lion disc (I assume you have one, no?) and then use it to create a virtual machine in something like VirtualBox to run Mountain Lion from inside Yosemite.
