Help Using "emctl jmxcli" Command

I am new to EM and am working on learning how to create plugins. Someone installed EM 12C for me and then I installed the EDK and emcli. I was able to get the EDK's demo HostSample plugin which uses OSLineToken fetchlet to deploy and work. I then wrote a simple plugin which uses the SQL fetchlet. That worked as well. I am now trying to write a plugin which monitors a JMX application deployed on an Oracle WebLogic application server. In the Cloud Control Extensibility Programmer’s Reference PDF it says to use the "emctl jmxcli" command. However, when I try to run that command it just returns the syntax of the command. It doesn't seem to recognize "jmxcli" as an option. When I run "emctl getversion" this is the result:

From the command out, it seems that you are working with "Enterprise Manager Database Control" which does not support extensibility. At least that is what the out of the emctl command shows. You really need "Enterprise Manager Cloud Control" to do what you are looking to do.

When ever i use a "sudo" command, it returns "sudo: can't open /etc/sudoers: Permission denied".... HELP PLEASE

While using terminal, any commands with sudo returns the statement seen in the heading... I have only a basic idea of whats happening, so please try and make the solutions simple.. much appreciated

Are you being prompted for a password? Are you using the same password you sign in with? Try just entering sudo with:
sudo su -
It will ask you for a password and then give you a stern warning about acting as root, where you can really mess up your computer for good if you are not careful. If it won't change to the root account you have a permission problem or a credentials problem.

"emctl jmxcli" doesn't work

I want to use the command : "emctl jmxcli"
It seems that it does not recognize the 'jmxcli' option: just get the syntax of emctl
I think that I have all the necessary components( EDK,oem 12c v2 ,etc)
when I type emctl getversion I get:
oracle enterprise manager cloud control 12c release 2
Am I missing something?

If you uninstall transmission you can reinstall it through application manager

Saving a pdf file using the print command

I'm having a problem saving a document to pdf using the print command. I'm using an old version of Adobe. it's Adobe Acrobat 6. it is giving me the following error The instruction at "0x775355b2" referenced memory at "0x775355b2". The memory could not be "read". Could someone please help me resolve this issue. Thank you.

The OS and release version of the source file's authoring application have a significant impact on use of Acrobat 6.
For example, Acrobat 8.1 is where Vista support begins.
With MS Office, Acrobat 6 PDFMaker compatiblility is only for Office 97, 2000, XP, and 2003.

Problem in using JDBC Execute commands(Update & Delete Only) with af:Table

HI Everyone,
I have one issue with Updating and Deleting Row Data using JDBC Execute commands.
Suppose In My Application i have two pages, in Page 1 I have Two Command Buttons(Delete and Save) and One Input TextBox to write the String to be stored in the Database. and Page 2 where the result Table is shown and table is binded with a ViewObject, Now When User Types some String in InTB and click Save then By Programmatically I'm searching, that string is already present in database or not, if it is already exist then Save button converts in Update button and instead of inserting it allows user to Update the String already exist in database.
Everything is working fine but the problem comes when i put those all buttons on the same page where result table is present.After putting all things on the same page and When i click save button to insert new String it is Successfully inserting but when any of other action is performed like updating or Deleting the existing one.. then my application just hanged and then nothing I able to do.
Please Help me to understand this problem and give me the solution for this..

I'm refreshing table's iterator on each command button's action to reflect the changed result... and i'm sorry i mentioned two pages in my project.. actually these are two forms in the same page..which conditionally changed its renderer properties.. its working fine when only one form is renderred and the otherside when both are rendered then it is not working.

I can only suggest you now need to somehow link your mobile to sync with the new calendar 'On my Mac'.
I have a work Blackberry whose calendar I sync with an iCal calendar 'On my Mac' using a usb lead and the Blackberry Desktop Manager for Mac. This free piece of software from Blackberry, automatically starts up as soon as I connect the usb to the iMac and it then prompts me to select which calendar 'On the iMac', which is writable, that I want my Blackberry to sync to.

Abobe 9: Printing a PDF file using a DOS command

I have Adobe 9.4.0 on a server and would like to print PDF files using a DOS command. The DOS command we are using is:
start Acrord32.exe /T/S/h/O "C:\BO_Archival_Code_Deployment\Print\TINF018_C.pdf" "Lexmark T644 PS3 - 10.192.36.126"
With this, we are able to print only page 1 of the PDF file. The other pages remain unprinted. This means there is no issue related to printer configuration, firewalls, etc.
Other observations:
1) When we print the file manually after opening it in Adobe 9.4.0, all pages are printed.
2) We found that the above command provides different results with Adobe 8.2.6 i.e. with the DOS command, all pages are printed while using Adobe 8.
We are trying to automate some tasks for which we require the PDF files to be printed automatically through a DOS command. We are being advised to use Adobe 9 as technical support for Adobe 8 is likely to be withdrawn soon.
Please can you help.

AT USER-COMMAND is a list Event.This Event is triggered when user make an action on the Application Toolber Or Menubar.
Here is the Program.
START-OF-SELECTION.
SET PF-STATUS 'TEST'.
WRITE: 'Basic list, SY-LSIND =', sy-lsind.
AT LINE-SELECTION.
WRITE: 'LINE-SELECTION, SY-LSIND =', sy-lsind.
AT USER-COMMAND.
CASE sy-ucomm.
WHEN 'TEST'.
WRITE: 'TEST, SY-LSIND =', sy-lsind.
ENDCASE.
This program uses a status TEST, defined in the Menu Painter.
Function key F5 has the function code TEST and the text Test for demo.
Function code TEST is entered in the List menu.
The function codes PICK and TEST are assigned to pushbuttons.
The user can trigger the AT USER-COMMAND event either by pressing F5 , or by choosing List -> Test for demo, or by choosing the pushbutton 'Test for demo'.The user can trigger the AT LINE-SELECTION event by selecting a line.

I have some(Little bit) knowledge on forms.But here I got one requirement which was confusing me .The requirement is ,we have nearly 70 custom forms developed
using TEMPLATE.fmb.Now I have to open each and every form and have to check whether that form is using any HOST (unix) command to exit to the shell and
execute a process .I never got this type of requirement previously .Can any one help in how to search for those commands ,I.e is there any standard to use Unix call in
particular trigger or etc..

Your question is a little unclear. The "HOST" command is an Oracle Forms built-in command which allows you to execute OS commands. So the only part of it that belongs to forms is the part that looks like HOST(). The contents within the parentheses would be the command you wanted to execute. For example:
HOST('/path/to/your/script.sh');Refer to the Forms Builder online help for more information about how to use the HOST command.

Using unix 'diff' command to publish iweb to non .mac server

It is a common problem that you can't upload incremental changes to a website a web server that is not a .mac. Recently I found that the unix (shell) 'diff -qr' works nicely for this.
However I can't seem to get this to work in automator. That is where I need some help.
What I did :
I have an iweb website in my directory
Documents/website
I made a second directory where I store my uploaded version of the website:
Documents/websiteonserver
Using a shell script I want to compare the differences between these two directories using the diff command in a shell script. When I run 'diff -qr websiteonserver website' in a terminal window, it gives a nice overview of which files are changed and which ones are new. When workin with iWeb this saves me a lot of time uploading my homepage to a non .mac server. I can only upload the changed files, which is usually only a few. Diff does not look at timestamps (which are useless in the iweb case) but it actually looks into a file and with the -q option it stops when it finds a difference. With the -r added (-qr) it also looks through all subdirectories and compares files with the same name.
I like to automate this process so that my wife can update our family homepage with just one mouseclick (or as few as possible)
Unfortunately the diff command in automator gives an error, and there's no info on why it does this.
The commands I gave:
cd Documents
diff -qr websiteonserver website
(using PWD i verified that the path is correct like this). The only stumbling block for automator seems to be the diff command. Anybody any suggestions on this?
The next challenge is to take the diff output and use that to upload only changed/new files to a ftp server.
Any help / ideas are welcome

I used a single command as us specified. It really helped to add the path to the directories I wanted to compare. So now at least I got it two work partly:
It seems to work only if I compare two files. Comparing directories still does not work. Maybe diff generates some kind of error code when doing this??? It does not do that in the shell.
If I compare all files in directories + subdirectories , the workflow does not work. It seems as if it only accepts a single output line or so from the diff function. If there is more output (or maybe some newline character) the workflow halts. Very peculiar.
mmm.... I will try to make a shell script which I can run in automator. In the script file I will then generate a txt file. Then the automator can run the script and then it can open the resulting file in a text editor. See if that works.
mmm nope. I made a script like this:

I modified the atributes to executable and I could run it from the command line. The logfile.txt was created and has the correct info. I could not run it from automator...
I did copy the last line from the script into automator. And also there it does create the logfile, but the automator still says there was an error and stops.
maybe I should try Applescript, were it not that I am totally clueless on that language...

Help needed with DATAEXPORT command

I'm looking for some help with the DATAEXPORT command. It was working for us previously and recently it started giving us problems. Now when I run a DATAEXPORT within a calcscript in order to get a subset of the data, the exported file contains 13, sometimes 14 data columns rather than 12 data columns (one for each month)
When I perfom a full data export the export file is perfect (select the database, right click and select “Export”, enter file path and name, select ‘Level 0 data blocks” and “Export in column format” and click ok.)

I noticed something similar when I first tested the DATAEXPORT calc script command but couldn't get to the bottom of the cause.
It seemed to be an issue where the first month(s) were #Mi but later months had data, e.g. Jan:Mar = #Mi, Apr = 10, May = 20 etc.
After a certain point in the export file data didn't align correctly when compared to the export in column format as you mention, in fact a number of rows that should have had data returned nothing and some rows existed where there was no corresponding data in the database. I remember noticing that I never had more than 13 data columns. This happened to correspond to the number of level0 time periods I had (I had 'BegBalance' as well as Jan:Dec).
I did a test on exporting all level0 time periods, forcing it to have 13 columns one for each level0 time period and it worked and matched the export in column format.
Fortunately for me the client changed the requirement and only wanted the total for the year exported so I never quite got to the bottom of it but hope that it helps you.

Using 'defaults delete' command with com.apple.dock

I have been using the "defaults" command in my scripts to add an icon to a user's dock after a new application has been installed. But now, I'm having trouble trying to figure out how to remove an icon from the dock using the command line. For adding an icon, I use:
defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '<dict><key>tile-data</key><dict><key>file-data</key><dict>
<key>_CFURLString</key><string>/Applications/NewApp/Program.app

(take out all the carriage returns and spaces. I had to put them in here for the line to show properly on the post)
This works great for adding an icon. But, I cannot seem to write something similar using "defaults delete"

   If it froze then the code isn't robust against problems. In this case the problem is the web. The command has four spaces in a row in two of the matches. However, the browser smashes that down into a single space. I never understood that aspect of HTML but I know about it and should have considered it. I will replace the spaces with capital Xs. If you replace the Xs with regular spaces, the command should work:

In some sense that is poor coding but in the default syntax of the "defaults" command, the only way to determine depth is by how far something is indented. It would have been far more robust to actually count the number of opening parentheses and keep track of the depth but that would have been more complex to code. If I have time, I'll look into changing that.
   I assume that the reason the command hung is that it went into an infinite loop. I've also added a carat, '^', in front of the first group of four spaces that will keep that from happening. When typed correctly the command works without it but now it will fail without going into an infinite loop.
