Help when i boot into the windows 7 instal disk it freezes at windows loading files

Help when i boot into the windows 7 instal disk it freezes at windows loading files.

1. Have you tried both Alt keys - maybe your Alt key is dead.
2. Do you have wireless keyboard? Have you tried to change batteries? USB Keyboard?
3. If your Win is installed correctly then you have also installed all windows support software.
There should be Startup manager like on the Mac (next to the clock little bootcamp app or in control pannel) to restart your Mac into the Mac partition.

    Hi Apple user 789,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The following article will provide some troubleshooting steps for your iPhone.
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1430
If that does not resolve the issue, refer to page 146 in the iPhone User Guide to Reset All Settings:
iPhone User Guide for iOS 7
    manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf
The final troubleshooting step would be to restore your device:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1414
Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition. Before restoring:
Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes.
    Back up your device.
Transfer and sync content to your computer.
I hope this information helps ....
    Happy Holidays!

  • When I boot to the windows side my screen is pixelated.

When I boot my MacBook to windows, my screen is pixilated.  Looks like a bunch of little Christmas lights flashing in the background.  When I boot over to the mac side the screen is fine.  Any idea why and how to fix it?

    Hi,
Shut down the notebook.  Tap away at f10 as you start the notebook to enter the bios menu.  Under the Advanced or Diagnostic tab you should find the facility to run tests on both the Hard Drive and Memory.  Post back with the details of any error messages.
If both the above tests pass, try the following.
If you don't already have one, use another PC to create a Windows 7 Rescue CD.  Download the relevant ISO from the links below.
    Windows 7 32bit
    Windows 7 64bit
You should use an application such as ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD - a guide on using ImgBurn to write an ISO to a disc is Here.  Once created, or if you already have this, insert the CD into the notebook and restart to boot from it.  Select the Repair option.
Select the 'Repair your Computer' option and follow Option 2 in the guide on the link below to run Start-up Repair – you may need to run this 2 or 3 times.
    http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/668-system-recovery-options.html
If the above fails to help, make a note of any error messages you may get during the procedure and include them with your next post.

  • Can't get into the Windows Installer

So, now I'm trying to boot into the Windows installer after partitioning my drive with Bootcamp Assistant. I've used this same Windows XP CD on another Intel computer in the past, as well as a real PC without any problems. However, on my Macbook Pro is just hangs right after rebooting. I have tried removing and adding the Windows partition about 4 times now, using both Disk Utility and BootCamp Assistant to no avail. I have also tried repairing permissions using Onyx. Please, any help would be GREATLY appreciated (I would even be OK with reformatting the whole **** drive destructively if need be).

I managed to get past the cursor by chance it seems, however after the initial copying of files before installation I get an error about a missing file which I know is not missing. I give up, Im going to try a complete reformat and attempt it again
EDIT: This is the same problem I am having now: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7809195

  • Bootcamp 5.1 Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of installation

I've searched the internet, I've tried solutions on some of the discussions on here:

    http://wind8apps.com/windows-8-1-install-fails-new-2013-retina-macbook/
(Can't try this one because I don't have physical media or a burner and don't want to upgrade to 8.1)
Tried maskedferret's and jarvil's instructions that might work for others but not for me. Also the process must be older version of disk utility. There is no "minus" to remove a partition in the one I have.
Half the problem is those threads are so long with people posting up their problems that are not even the same problem. So then you have to sift through all these responses that aren't even really releated.
If you're problem isn't this problem then please don't use this thread to solve another issue.
“Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of the installation. To install Windows, restart the installation.”
I can't find in the release notes of any beta Maverick update that this is being addressed.
    1) Does anyone know if there is a fix coming out for this?
    2) Is there some solution that doesn't require to have physical media?
         a) I have Windows 8.1 iso and product key
         b) I have a 32gb USB stick that I had Bootcamp format
         c) I have a spare 16gb USB stick.  Both are USB 2.0 so I can't do Windows To Go. Maybe I should get one.
    3) I have no idea how tell which MacBookPro I have since no one at Apple seems to believe in model numbers. I just ordered it online two weeks ago and received it this week so I guess it's the "latest" model hardware wise.  Running 10.9
The cloest possible solution I came across was to boot up Windows 8 OS on a USB stick (Not the install) and run diskpert or fdisk for mbr thought I can' try this out because I don't have Windows To Go.  I'd rather have it worked problem from Apple if I can figure out when they plan to update I might be willing to wait.

Finally got a physical CD and to the third link option still same issue. Even worse actually as even after formating the partition I get a "Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of the GPT partition style"
Found my "-" minus remove parition in Disk Utility. Will attempt maskedferret's again

  • Windows could not prepare the computer to boot into the next phase of the installation. Windows 8.1

Hi! I have a Lenovo G500 notebook with a new HDD. I try to do a clean install but i always get an error message" windows could not prepare the computet the boot into the next phase. Restart the insralattion."  i talked with my country's windows
help line and the operator said i have to change something in the BIOS. Can somebody help me?

    Hi,
You can enter BIOS, then change the Boot sequence for CD/DVD, HDD or USB. Make sure that the disk speck is enough for storing the installation files. Make sure the installation media is fine.
Probably cause of this error is that the associated disk partition is corrupted. In this situation, you need to delete the partition and then repartition the hard drive, after that, try to install Windows again, check if error has gone.

  • My computer wont recognize my ipod touch, when i go into the devices list (windows 7) it comes up but its under unspecified and says it needs troubleshooting. what can i do to get it to connect properly again?

when i plug in my ipod into the right usb port it makes the connecting noise but nothing pops up and itunes does nothing. then when i look into the devices list it is under a category called unspecified and says that it needs troubleshooting. if i run the troubleshooting program it says it could not find a solution to the problem. i want to know how to fix this.

I was struggling with this since my latest Itunes update.  Fiirst it would not recognize my IPad as a device, after correcting that, it would list the Ipad in my device but my Sync had no options (summry, info, etc). and it kept saying it was "Accessing Itunes store".  reading your question I suddently tried deleting the itunes task (alt-ctrl, delete, processes) and delete Itunes.  (By the way, I had rebooted my computer several times over the last few days).  I opened up Itunes, and voila. Device is there. No "accessing windows" and my sync has the normal options.

  • I started Boot Camp on a MAC mini but then  had a power failure after 30 secs :( Now when I start Boot Camp the option to install Windows 7 is gone.  In it's place is Remove Windows 7.  It seems to hang at Partitioning disk  Can I recover?

I started Boot Camp on a MAC mini but then  had a power failure after 30 secs Now when I start Boot Camp the option to install Windows 7 is gone.  In it's place is Remove Windows 7.  It seems to hang at Partitioning disk  How can I recover?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
That's because the Boot Camp volume was created, but your Mac hasn't been set up to start automatically from the Windows disc. Insert the Windows DVD and press C key while your Mac is starting to start Windows installation.
If you want to make sure that everything is correct, open Boot Camp Assistant and choose the option to remove Windows 7. Then, open that application again, select the option to install Windows 7 and you will be able to install Windows as usual

  • HT1461 For Boot Camp, if you save a file when you are on the Windows side, when you return to the Mac side, can you see the file or can it only be "seen" on the operating side you create it in?

For Boot Camp, if you save a file when you are on the Windows side, when you return to the Mac side, can you see the file or can it only be "seen" on the operating side you create it in?

Why don't you  (generic most every post lacks critical details) be clear and say you never used Mac OS etc.
But, I did try to anticipate and give you what you needed.
Excel is one of those rare programs that, if they are extremely large complex spreadsheets still tend to run better under Office for Windows.
A VM won't do for that but it does make it easier to transition. As in: install Windows natively, then use VMware Fusion or Parallels to attach to the partition and OS. That way you can run Windows as Guest OS VM under Mac; and still run Windows natively dual-boot when needed.
The word "see" was not what you wanted, was it? really? you want to open and make changes and keep it on Windows side rather than Save As or copy to Mac
You use Windows and don't know it has NTFS (NT FileSystem)?
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hierarchical_File_System (HFS) native file system used by Apple
And there is much more UEFI style "bios" and other things I suppose.
Great thing about Google and encyclopedias or dictionary, you can look up what you don't know.

  • Can't boot into my windows pro 64 bit dvd to do clean install

I am trying to do a clean reinstall of Windows 7 Professional 64 bit (Brazilian Portuguese) I keep getting a request to select  a cd-rom type 1 or 2. Neither works.
I have researched this here and on Google. All I find are references to Mac installs and changing the bios settings.
My drives are not set to AHCI - I have boot from CD/DVD first in the boot order. I did the original install of windows 7 64 bit to this same equipment and configuration with this same official windows disk without any problems. I recently began having
problems with the system after almost two years of use - efforts to repair were not only unsuccessful they left the system almost unusable. I am running the OS on a separate partition from my data.
I was planning on booting to the Windows disk and wiping the C: partiton and reinstalling but I am being prevented by a message saying that i need to select a cd-rom boot type 1 or 2. Neither works - it just goes on to boot to the present damaged OS on my
computer. I have tried typing "3" at the message - also didn't work. While I have a backup of my D: drive data I would rather not lose it and have to try to recover that as well.
I would appreciate any help - I find it really strange that the same disk I used to install the system won't work now.

This may or may not be a BIOS related issue, I am only a user - but the Windows installation disk/system is certainly a MAJOR player in this problem. I booted to UBCD and deleted the c: drive to get rid of the old windows install (leaving the 100mb"system"
partition) and tried the boot again. Same problem with the Win 7 64 bit DVD. Except that when I entered "1" and "enter" it a "windows repair" window opened that appeared to be triggered from the 100mb "system" partition.
I shut down and, out of curiosity, I inserted the The Win 7 32 bit DVD and it booted. I cancelled the install and booted the UBCD and deleted the 100mb "system" partition and resized the c: partition and booted the 64 bit install disk again. This
time, when the boot asked for "1 or 2", I entered "1" and it booted and began the install. On the first reset it asked for "1 or 2", I entered "1" and it asked to "enter" if I wanted to boot from the cd/dvd
drive. I believe that I used "esc" and it booted from the hard drive and completed the install. Only the Windows install DVD creates this problem other bootable disks I have don't do this.
Since my original install was from the same disk to a new Hard Drive I didn't have any problem installing. My problems began with the need to reinstall, which is a VERY common problem with Windows. Once I found the workaround, which did not involve the BIOS
but "fooling" the Windows install/system on my official retail copy of Windows, I was able to reinstall.
Since I am using a very common, high end, if old, Intel board and processor I can't believe that others don't encounter these problems and I think that it begs the question to say that the problem is Intel related and to go to them for help.
Anyway, I do appreciate your taking the time to review my problem and trying to help. I have been as detailed as I could above in the hope that this will help any others who are encountering this problem. I would add that I am using Brazilian Portuguese
install disk and I suppose that this could be a solution only  for similar disks. From what I have seen on this forum and the internet, it seems to be more generalized.
    Thank-you again

  • I can't boot from the windows cd with boot camp

I got Vista up and running via boot camp but now I have a problem that could cause some issues. How the **** do you boot from a windows cd with boot camp!?!? When I stick in the windows based CD (could be the vista install CD -after vista's been installed of course- or a Windows home server restore cd) and hold down the option key I chose to boot from the CD in the menu then the screen goes black as it should and then it says press any key to boot from cd or dvd..... It gives me 5 seconds to press a key and then it conintues to boot into Vista. The thing is when it asks me to press any key I press any and all keys on the keyboard and I get no response and it just boots into vista. This can be quite a problem, what if I need to restore vista via the install CD? I can't chose to boot from it cause everytime it asks me to none of my key presses register. So everytime I have a problem I won't be able to restore or even diagnose it, I'll just have to reinstall vista? I don't think I can even bring up the safe mode or anything like this. The keyboard won't work until I reach the password screen of Vista. I've also tried plugging in a USB keyboard to it and it still doesn't work. So basically I need to know how to make the keyboard work before Vista loads.

Ok, well I just tried booting from the windows cd and it seems that I lied to ya It seems that you can boot from it. Although I only took it to the point I was comfortable with. The boot resulted in it asking me to install windows and I didn't see any partitions listed or anything, so I chickened out (so to speak) not wanting to take the chance of my Leopard installation getting screwed up.
It's been a quite some time since I used the Vista boot disc and can't really remember how it went when I used it in conjunction with boot camp beta. Sorry can't give you anymore information.

  • How do I change the "Default Directory" or default subscription when I log into the portal?

When I login to the Windows Azure portal it redirects me to a URL like:
    https://manage.windowsazure.com/@{SomeOneElsesAccount}hotmail.onmicrosoft.com?whr=live.com#Workspaces/All/dashboard
If I look at the URL I can see the email of a friend's account not mine.
If I click on the Subscription drop down his account is listed as the "Default Directory" even though I no longer have access.
How do I remove his account/subscription/directory from my account?
How do I change my subscription as the default, so that when I login the URL is more like: https://manage.windowsazure.com/@{my email}.onmicrosoft.com#Workspaces/All/dashboard
    I have also
    asked this here...
See the image below.  The one listed as "default directory" I no longer have access to.

    Hi Gary,
Did you use the organizational accounts ? I guess your login account was added by "SomeOneElsesAccount" . When we used azure AD account to logging into portal, the url show the "SomeOneElsesAccount" message on the portal. If you didn't
show other user message, I suggest you could use Microsoft account to login. Also, I suggest you read this document (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsazure/hh531793.aspx )

Any question, please let me know.
