Help while wanting to publish a folio

Hello,
I'm a new user of the digital publishng suite. I have the following problem when I want to publish a folio I get this message :
Une erreur est survenue lors de la publication du folio sur le serveur.'Couv_v' ne contient pas le même nombre de mises en page que les autres articles du folio. Les folios ne doivent contenir que des mises en pages horizontales ou des mises en pages verticales, ou bien chaque article doit contenir à la fois une mise en page horizontale et une mise en page verticale. "
Sorry its in french, but basically it says, An error has occured, while the publication on the server. Le file Couv does not have the same number of pages as the other articles of the folio. The folios must contain only horizontal ou vertical layouts or each article must contain one horizontal layoutand one vertical one.
So first of all I don't really understand what they mean because either my vertical and horizontal layouts has the same amount of pages.
Secondly, the way my folio is built is I has a main one caled Portfolio, then inside I have 3 articles and each one is either in landscape or portrait view.
Could anybody help me with this, its rather important, because I have a interview for a job and being able to present my work in this manner would be pretty cool.

It has nothing to do with the number of pages. If you wish to use horizontal only then every article must be horizontal only. Same for vertical.
Should you wish t have to both then all articles must have both.

    I did send this question as a"private message" first and did receive some answers that I would like to share here. Big thank you to both Himanshu and Bob!!!  If someone feels like adding more info regarding the subject please do.
    "I’m the Adobe Creative Cloud member (one year subscription) and as such I’m entitled to publish a Single Edition app through my Digital Publishing Suite. Now, I have just been approached by one printed magazine, here in Vancouver, Canada, and I’m suppose to provide them with an estimate for adapting their publication for the iPad. Before I start thinking about my fee I would like to know what we have to pay to Adobe. They have four issues per year and I guess this goes under multi-folio applications category. Now, the questions:
    1. Can I prepare the folios with my Creative Cloud membership or I have to upgrade to Professional edition of the DPS?
    2. Does my client need to purchase the Professional Edition of DPS or not?
    3. Or, we need only one license of the Professional Edition and if so who’s is that license going to be?
    4. Or, I’m talking nonsense and you can just explain me how this works, please?

    You would need to upgrade to DPS Professional Edition for multi Folio Applications. DPS Pro is $495 per month + taxes. Also you have download fees applicable. You get 250 free downloads per month for the first year and  for any additional downloads, you need to purchase Folio Bundle. Approximately, each Folio Download will cost you $ .30, so you can charge you client that amount per folio download + DPS Pro contract fees.

    Now regarding your questions.
    1. Can I prepare the folios with my Creative Cloud membership or I have to upgrade to Professional edition of the DPS?
    You need DPS Pro for creating Multi-Issue Applications. With CC, you can create Built in single apps. For Magazine with at least 4 issues per year, it’s best to go for Pro edition.
    2. Does my client need to purchase the Professional Edition of DPS or not?
    Either you or your client can purchase DPS Pro depending upon your contract with the client. You Client needs to get themselves Apple iOS Developer account.
    3. Or, we need only one license of the Professional Edition and if so who’s is that license going to be?
    4. You need one DPS Pro Contract. You can create unlimited number of apps and account using one License.

  • Unable to publish in folio producer

    I'm having an issue trying to publish in folio producer. Last night I published renditions for both resolutions of iPad and made them private, this morning when I tried to update them to make them public and I got the following message:
    "An error has occurred while trying to publish your folio. We could not start this operation. Please try again later."
    I'm still getting this message six hours later. We've recently renewed our DPS subscription and this is the first thing I've published since then. We've apparently been reassured by our Adobe representative that there would be no problems with our ability to use DPS while the subscription was being renewed.
    Any ideas what could be causing this?

  • While writing a journal I drag many photos from iPhoto to the journal pages. Every time I get a pop-up that asks if I want to publish to Facebook which I don't. I have to cancel it each time and it's driving me crazy!

    While writing a journal I drag many photos from iPhoto to the journal. Each time I get a pop-up asking if I want to publish that item to Facebook which I don't. I have to stop and cancel the pop-up each time which is time consuming. How do I get this to stop? It's driving me crazy. (And yes I am a member of Facebook.)

    With iPhoto open, from the menu bar click iPhoto / Preferences then select the Accounts tab.
    If you see Facebook on the left select that then click -  (minus)
    Quit then relaunch iPhoto. See if that makes a difference.

  • Can't publish removed folio?? Adobe, help...

    Scenario:
    folio (free) was published before last round of checks. So we decided to remove it from publishing servers. I clicked "Remove", folio was not visible in viewer, we was happy. I was just little bit suspicious, because in Folio Producer it still looks more like that folio is published - on buttons was "Update" and "Remove", which i would not expect when folio was already removed from publishing servers. Even after logout/login there was same situation.
    Now we need to publish this folio, because it's polished and prepared for show time.
    We CAN'T!!!!
    All what i've got is this error:
    From my point of view it seems, that folio was correctly removed from publishing servers, but Folio Producer for some reason don't know about it and when he tries to UPDATE folio, he obviously will fail.
    Boys, now  we start to run in troubles. This folio MUST BE available at morning. Here is already night. I tried to call tech support and i spoke with lovely young indian man, but i don't know when i'll receive call back.

    Martin, can you still use "Remove" button?
    If so, I would try to remove it again, even several times.  "Update" and "Remove" should be gray before you may publish again.

  • Trouble with publishing two Folios in Apple Newsstand

    Hey everybody,
    i´m im trouble. I finished a magazine for a customer who wants to publish that in the apple newsstand.
    The magazine is in two different languages. So i have two different folios with animations, galleries, movies etc.
    We already have a apple developer account with some published apps,
    and we have adobe dps single edition account. I´ve found a lot of tutorials for the publication
    but i´m not shure which one is the right one or what i need
    Did anyone can help me what i have to do now...
    - Is there a restriction how many releases i need for the newsstand to approve?
    - Is the Adobe single edition the right license for the Newsstand with more releases (two every year)?
    - can i create a multiply folio app with my current account?
    - is it possible to publish a folio like mine in the apple Newsstand with my current profiles and software?
    - how i manage two different languages for a multi folio app? (Do i need two apps? - One for each language?)

    Single Edition apps cannot be published to Newsstand.
    You will need a pro or enterprise account to publish multi folio apps.

  • Want to publish an old iWeb site - struggling!

    Hi, hope someone can help me out.
    Approx 5 years ago, I created a website for a mate in iWeb and published it using an old .Mac account. I've since changed Macs and while the website design remains, .Mac is now Mobile Me and my mate has lost the log in details. The account is still live as my mate had the Mobile Me annual fee deducted from their account only recently.
    To make matters worse, we registered a domain name and pointed it to the .Mac created domain. However, my mate failed to renew the domain and so there's no way of us seeing the website.
    Finally, the email address registered to the .Mac address is now also defunct.
    We've now bought the same domain name back and want to publish the iWeb site to that domain, but with no Mobile Me details I'm wondering what the solution is. Any thoughts?

    You will have to recreate the web site from scratch since you don't have the domain file that was used by iWeb to create the site in the first place. Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the recreation of the site.
    As for the domain name once you have your site created and published you can forward it to the new site.  You can obtain an account on a 3rd party web hosting server like HostExcellence.com and publish you site there.
    However, if you have a blog or one of the items listed below they will not be supported on a 3rd party server:

    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    From iWeb 3's Help
    Many 3rd party servers do support php which will allow you to protect pages or the entire site.  3rd party hit counters which offer much more than just the number of visitors can be added. And you can use a 3rd party blogging service to create your blog and embed its page into one of your iWeb pages with an HTML snippet and iframe code.

  • Publishing a folio with itunes connect

    Hello, I've created a folio in indesign, i've joined the iOS developer program, payed the fee, i've also signed for the adobe creative cloud with a monthly subscription... As i thought that would be enough to publish my free book.
    Then i've created an app using the app builder, went through the http://help.adobe.com/en_US/ppcompdoc/Step_by_step_guide_to_dps_se.pdf   right up to the page 59, and then i've wanted to publish my work, and opened itunes connect, but there weren't a "Manage your apps" button, as it was shown in the step by step guide, instead of this button there is a "Mange your books" button (it's there probaly because i had signed  for the free book account back in the time)
    On the other hand when i go to the folio produser, i also can't publish my folio.. because there is only "private" status aviable, not the "public" one..
    What could i have done wrong? And how can i publish my folio in this case?

    Well, i've payed for the Apple Developer account, and i've created an app.
    I guess, that the problem is that i used the same apple id for the developer account and for the books account.. So now i'm trying to sort that out.

    I'm missing a basic concept on iCal Server i think.
    I just want to publish a single calendar to the public with NO passwords.
    Calendars exist on the iCal Server on 10.8.5 using login credentials from Open Directory where users
    can create calendars, share calendars, etc.
    When you go to the Web site, it first asks for your login and password.
    How do i link a calendar to a public location, or make a calendar publicly accessible?

    So with no responses to the above question, I've had to rtfm...
    It appears from my reading of the somewhat limited documentation on iCal Server on 10.8.5, since I have chosen
    to apply security to the Wiki's and Calendars to use OD on the server; I cannot open a public viewable Calendar along side the secured ones.  ( I may certainly be wrong, but I haven't been able to find out how.)
    So I took an easier approach, as I wanted 1 public calendar viewable and subscribable by the public.
    The local iCal server will be used privately for local secure business, while the Public calendar will be
    maintained on the local Admin's desktop, then shared publicly to Google calendars, where I set up a simple secure acount.  This gives me 4 benefits.
    1. A public viewable webpage of the calendar - for those with iCal or iPhone (droid population, or browsers)
    2. An dot.ics subscribable link  for those with iPhones, iCal compatibe calendars
    3. An embedded link for our education web site, to show the Public calendar inline on our own website.
    4. The ability to publish to said Google calendar , from the locally managed desktop.
    This may have been obvious, or not; and potentially othe ways of accomplishing the same,
    Any thoughts or goctcha's ?

    This topic needs help on rollOver problem and about
    publishing work.
    Everytime I check mouse interaction with certain sprite using
    rollOver, director checks by the sprite's bounding box. How
    do I make it checks
    by pixels, to make the sprite react when my mouse is over
    the sprite's pixel, not around it's bounding box?
    I've done a simple game, now I want to publish it into
    a stand alone application with protected casts. It didn't
    turn out good the first time I tried. I'm gonna read more help and
    retry. Is there any technical issue related to this problem? Oh
    yah, I also had a problem with the
    fullscreen setting. The application is not "fully
    fullscreen" and I can see my project's title bar. How am I supposed
    to do with that?

    lingo. I've been coding ActionScript all this time and just a few
    weeks ago I started learning director.
    Back to my game project..
    Usually I don't directly use score to put sprite. I use the
    method "makeScriptedSprite". Is there a problem with that?
    about my bitmap.. It is a png file with transparent
    background. I export the files from Flash. Because its background
    is already transparent, I leave the ink setting to Copy. I got a
    nice result with the image on the score.. except the part with the
    rollOver. I was thinking.. maybe it's the problem with my
    bitmap?

    trouble is, it's not always that straight forward if the initial animation has not been set to a transparent background, as you cant simply change/update the poster.png
    What I mean is, if the poster has been saved as non transparent once, the only wayto update it,  is to physically open the file and make it transparent, even then it doesnt always work especially working with OAM's

    If I go with BI publisher desktop 32 bit, I'm not getting the "BI Publisher" tab in Microsoft Word. (MS word version : 2010) .

    After you install BI Publisher Desktop 32bit, you are not seeing the BIP ribbon on MS Word but can you see the BI Publisher Add-In
    in Word Options > Add-Ins > Inactive Applications Add-Ins?

    I don't know much about non-English usage, but I've seen podcast in Chinese and Arabic, so it's perfectly possible: however though the contents of tags such as 'title', 'summary' and 'subtitle' can be in Chinese, the actual tags forming the feed must be in English and follow the format set out in the example feed in this page (which you may also foind helpful for basic information):

  • Help! No SWF publish option in publish settings in Adobe CC

    Recently installed Flash CC but big problem. I'm on a Windows machine. I'm unable to publish anything but a javascript .js and html file, OR a JPEG. I need to publish SWFs! Why the heck is it like this? I've never encountered this before. See screen capture.
    Ignore that the screen cap says Profile 1 - the Default Profile is identical. See how there is no publish options except for Javascript / HTML and JPEG?
    I want to publish as FLASH (Swf) and it isn't even an option. Why is this? Even if I click the cog wheel.

    If you want a SWF option you need to setup your project as Action Script 3 when you create a new project.  It looks like your project is setup as HTML5.
