Help with buying used printer, please!

I have 5 - 15AHP Laserjet Print Cartridges (my sister closed her office) .....  I have a LaserJet 4000 and the 15A doesn't fit of course.
I am thinking of buying a used printer so I could use these cartridges.  15A fits HP Laserjet 1000; 1005; 1200; 1220; 3300; and 3380.  Can I get some suggestions on which one to buy and where?  I really just need straight printing and don't want to spend a lot.
thanks
LK - Denver

While it is true that Canon does take some time to release official driver for the new OS, the reality with ML is that the current 10.7 drivers do install and function on 10.8.
For the iR2016, here is a link to the UFR2 v2.41 driver from Canon Australia.
Also, with the iR2016 supporting the PCL printer language, you could use the Generic PCL Laser driver included with ML. Although I am not sure about this Generic driver supporting A3 printing, so I would have to confirm this.

  • Help with Canon iR2016 printer please...

    I use the Canon iR2016 monochrome laser printer in my office, as I need the large A3 format for sheet music purposes.
    Alas for Mountain Lion, the Canon website says
    There is no driver for the OS Version you selected. The driver may be included in your OS or you may not need a driver. Refer to our FAQ section for connectivity issues.
    First of all, I can't even find their FAQ section...
    Secondly, Canon being always behind when it comes to Mac OS support at least for office machines, what if I upgraded to Mountain Lion only to find that the iR2016 isn't supported? i.e., should I or shouldn't I take that chance at this point?
    Many thanks in advance for any and all pointers.

    I need help with getting my printer to print, Please.

    What have you done so far?
    I suggest you connect it via a usb  cable first.  Once you get the printer working, move to wifi.  You will have to use an existing printer usb cable or purchase a cable.  Be sure to get the correct cable.  Ask for help.
    The warrenty indicates there is phone support.  Give HP a call.

  • Help with code to print HTML in Java 5

    Hi,
    The following code works and runs successfully..
    However, the printing in Java 1.4.2_03 is better than Java 5 (latest version).
    i.e in particular the characters are not monospaced compared with compiling with Java 1.4.2_03. e.g si so ss squashed together.
    This issue does not seem to occur when running the same code in Java 1.4.2_03. (I haven't tried other 1.4.2 java versions).
    Any help would be appreciated. We really need this working under Java 5 or bust.

    class DocumentRenderer implements Printable {
    /*  DocumentRenderer prints objects of type Document. Text attributes, including
        fonts, color, and small icons, will be rendered to a printed page.
        DocumentRenderer computes line breaks, paginates, and performs other
        formatting.
        An HTMLDocument is printed by sending it as an argument to the
        print(HTMLDocument) method. A PlainDocument is printed the same way. Other
        types of documents must be sent in a JEditorPane as an argument to the
        print(JEditorPane) method. Printing Documents in this way will automatically
        display a print dialog.
        As objects which implement the Printable Interface, instances of the
        DocumentRenderer class can also be used as the argument in the setPrintable
        method of the PrinterJob class. Instead of using the print() methods
        detailed above, a programmer may gain access to the formatting capabilities
        of this class without using its print dialog by creating an instance of
        DocumentRenderer and setting the document to be printed with the
        setDocument() or setJEditorPane(). The Document may then be printed by
        setting the instance of DocumentRenderer in any PrinterJob.

    /*  The print method implements the Printable interface. Although Printables
        may be called to render a page more than once, each page is painted in
        order. We may, therefore, keep track of changes in the page being rendered
        by setting the currentPage variable to equal the pageIndex, and then
        comparing these variables on subsequent calls to this method. When the two
        variables match, it means that the page is being rendered for the second or
        third time. When the currentPage differs from the pageIndex, a new page is
        being requested.
        The highlights of the process used print a page are as follows:
        I.    The Graphics object is cast to a Graphics2D object to allow for
              scaling.
        II.   The JEditorPane is laid out using the width of a printable page.
              This will handle line breaks. If the JEditorPane cannot be sized at
              the width of the graphics clip, scaling will be allowed.
        III.  The root view of the JEditorPane is obtained. By examining this root
              view and all of its children, printView will be able to determine
              the location of each printable element of the document.
        IV.   If the scaleWidthToFit option is chosen, a scaling ratio is
              determined, and the graphics2D object is scaled.
        V.    The Graphics2D object is clipped to the size of the printable page.
        VI.   currentPage is checked to see if this is a new page to render. If so,
              pageStartY and pageEndY are reset.
        VII.  To match the coordinates of the printable clip of graphics2D and the
              allocation rectangle which will be used to lay out the views,
              graphics2D is translated to begin at the printable X and Y
              coordinates of the graphics clip.
        VIII. An allocation Rectangle is created to represent the layout of the
              Views.
              The Printable Interface always prints the area indexed by reference
              to the Graphics object. For instance, with a standard 8.5 x 11 inch
              page with 1 inch margins the rectangle X = 72, Y = 72, Width = 468,
              and Height = 648, the area 72, 72, 468, 648 will be painted regardless
              of which page is actually being printed.
              To align the allocation Rectangle with the graphics2D object two
              things are done. The first step is to translate the X and Y
              coordinates of the graphics2D object to begin at the X and Y
              coordinates of the printable clip, see step VII. Next, when printing
              other than the first page, the allocation rectangle must start laying
              out in coordinates represented by negative numbers. After page one,
              the beginning of the allocation is started at minus the page end of
              the prior page. This moves the part which has already been rendered to
              before the printable clip of the graphics2D object.
        X.    The printView method is called to paint the page. Its return value
              will indicate if a page has been rendered.
        Although public, print should not ordinarily be called by programs other
        than PrinterJob.

        children. If the view is a leaf view, that is a view without children which
        represents an actual piece of text to be painted, printView attempts to
        render the view to the Graphics2D object.
        I.    When any view starts after the beginning of the current printable

        II.   When a leaf view is taller than the printable area of a page, it
              cannot, of course, be broken down to fit a single page. Such a View
              will be printed whenever it intersects with the Graphics2D clip.

        IV.   If a leaf view does not exceed the printable area of a page but does

    I have finally cracked it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    The issue is definitely with Java Sun. "Uneven character spacing when printing JTextComponent"
    It is raised on the http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=6488219
    And currently in OPEN state, and raised on 31 Oct 2006 and mentions it was caused by fix 4352983.
    So where do we go from here. It's not good because I have tried all later version of the JVM and the issue is still there.
    Why? Because it hasn't been fixed yet. Read the bug report above, as it gives more insight -- and mentions the workaround is NOT good for existing code.
    So the way forward is to use an earlier version of the JVM 5.
    I download the JVM version 1.5.0 (starting version) and works Ok... I would probably think version prior to 4352983 would be Ok too.
    Please vote for this.... We have a workaround (use older version of the JVM).
    So I am very happy.

  • Need some help with the colour profile please. Urgent! Thanks

    Dear all, I need help with the colour profile of my photoshop CS6.
    I've taken a photo with my Canon DSLR. When I opened the raw with ACDSee, the colour looks perfectly ok.
    So I go ahead and open in photoshop. I did nothing to the photo. It still looks ok
    Then I'm prompt the Embedded Profile Mismatch error. I go ahead and choose Discard the embedded profile option
    And the colour started to get messed up.
    And the output is a total diasater
    Put the above photo side by side with the raw, the red has became crimson!!
    So I tried the other option, Use the embedded profile
    The whole picture turns yellowish in Photoshop's interface
    And the output is just the same as the third option.
    Could someone please guide me how to fix this? Thank you.

    I'm prompt the Embedded Profile Mismatch error. I go ahead and choose Discard the embedded profile option
    always use the embedded profile when opening tagged images in Photoshop - at that point Photoshop will convert the source colors over to your monitor space correctly
    if your colors are wrong at that point either your monitor profile is off, or your source colors are not what you think they are - if other apps are displaying correctly you most likely have either a defective monitor profile or source profile issues
    windows calibrate link:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Calibrate-your-display
    for Photoshop to work properly, i recall you want to have "use my settings for this device" checked in Color Management> Device tab
    you may want to download the PDI reference image to check your monitor and print workflows
    and complete five easy steps to profile enlightenment in Photoshop
    with your settings, monitor profile and source profiles sorted out it should be pretty easy to pinpoint the problem...

  • Help with HP Laser Printer 1200se

    HP Support Line,
    Really need your assistance.  I have tried both contacting HP by phone (told they no longer support our printer via phone help), the tech told me that I needed to contact HP by e-mail for assistance.   I then sent an e-mail for assistance and got that reply today, the reply is as follows  "Randall, unfortunately, HP does not offer support via e-mail for your product.  However many resources are available on the HP web site that may provide the answer to your inquiry.  Support is also available via telephone.  A list of technical support numbers can be round at the following URL........."  The phone numbers listed are the ones I called and the ones that told me I needed to contact the e-mail support for help.
    So here I am looking for your help with my issue.
    We just bought a new HP Pavillion Slimline Desk Top PC (as our 6 year old HP Pavillion PC died on us).  We have 2 HP printers, one (an all-in-one type printer, used maily for copying and printing color, when needed) is connected and it is working fine with the exception of the scanning option (not supported by Windows 7).  However we use our Laser Printer for all of our regular prining needs.  This is the HP LaserPrinter 1200se, which is about 6 years old but works really well.  For this printer we currently only have a parallel connection type cord and there is not a parallel port on the Slimline HP PC.  The printer also has the option to connedt a USB cable (we do not currently have this type of cable).
    We posed the following two questions:
    1.  Is the Laser Jet 1200se compatible with Windows 7?
    and if this is the case
    2.  Can we purchase either a) a USC connection cord (generic or do we need a printer specific cord)? or b) is there there a printer cable converter adapater to attach to our parallel cable to convert to a USB connection?
    We do not want to purchase the USB cable if Windows 7 will not accept the connection, or if doing this will harm the PC.
    We really would appreciate any assitance that you might give us.
    Thank you,
    Randy and Leslie Gibson

    Sorry, both cannot be enabled by design.  That said, devices on a network do not care how others are connected.  You can print from a wireless connection to a wired (Ethernet) printer and v/v.
    Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Need help with flash player installation please !!!!

    Hello,
    I need help with my flash player installation because every time I access a movie this is the message I receive.
    This content on Xfinity TV is not available for viewing with Chrome's "Incognito" mode. To play this video using Chrome, please view this page without "Incognito" mode.
    Still having problems? Try resetting your Flash player license.

    Incognito mode is a Google Chrome setting when you open a new window (Cmd+Shift+N on a Mac Ctrl+Shift+N on Windows) It opens a "private" window with no cookies and no tracking. The problem with it is that when you disable cookies, your license files are not sent to the site (whetehr it's YouTube or xFinity or any other that uses license files for paid content)  and it treats you as if you're a first time visitor. Paid videos won't play wihtout the cookies sending the license file info.
    This isn't a Flash Player setting. It's in Chrome. I did some research and according to Google, "Incignito" mode is off by default, and can ONLY be activate by the keyboard shortcut. There IS a way to disable it from the registry http://dev.chromium.org/administrators/policy-list-3#IncognitoModeAvailability

  • I need help with the https class please.

    try{
    URL url = new URL ("https://my_url..");
    URLConnection conexion;
    conexion = url.openConnection();
    conexion.setRequestProperty("Authorization",my_urlEncoder_string);
    conexion.setRequestProperty("Host",my_loginServer);
    HttpsURLConnection httpsConexion = (HttpsURLConnection) conexion;
    httpsConexion.setRequestMethod("GET");

    }catch ....
    when i run the program it show the following text:
    All properties: {Host=[my_loginServer]}
    Only the Host field is added to my HttpsURLConnection. The authentication field doesnt appear in standar output. How can i add to my HttpsURLConnection an Authentication field?
    thanks

    I have moved this to the main Dreamweaver forum, as the other forum is intended to deal with the Getting Started video tutorial.
    The best way to get help with layout problems is to upload the files to a website and post the URL in the forum. Someone can then look at the code, and identify the problem. Judging from your description, it sounds as though the Document window is narrow, which would result in the final menu tab dropping down to the next row. Try turning on Live view or previewing the page in a browser. Design view gives only an approximate idea of the final layout. Live view renders the page as it should look in a browser.

  • Help with css3 rollover tag please

    Hey guys I'm stumped and need help with positioning some big picture buttons.
    Here is the link o the home page http://ceramic-planet2.businesscatalyst.com/
    As u can see I have four picture buttons using css3 roller but I want all four buttons next to each other
    2 buttons next to each other with the next 2 directly below .
    Now orgininally I used the dreamweaver rollover button and everything was inline so flowed across the page no problem. These are divs and I've tried to make 2 panels side by side among other hings but I'm not getting there so I thought one of u clever guys would have no problems telling me what to do.
    Please help I'm not getting the inline or absolute placement right
    Dave

    Hey Dave,
    You need to remove the margin from #mosaicbutton, #kitchenbutton
    and then add float : left; to #bathroombutton, #floorbutton, #mosaicbutton, #kitchenbutton,
    That'll get you buttons sitting the way you want them, you may need to play with the margins after that.

  • Need help with class object? Please somoen

    hey guys,
    It's been few days since i'm working on making a small bingogame program but i'm getting stuck frequantly.
    I've different classes, in the main class i'm asking the user to input number of players who would like to play then i'm asking the player's name and how many bingoCards each player wants.
    I'm stroing all that info in a BingoPlayer class's array object. But for some reason when i get out from the loop and try to retrive the info from that array it only gives me the last input entry (player's name & number of cards) at any index of the array.
    Can please someone tell me how i can store the given information for each player in that object array on different indices of the array?
    I'm providing the code where i've the problems:
    public class BingoGame
        public static BingoPlayer players[] = new BingoPlayer[5];
        public static void main() throws IOException {
            int numPlayers = 0;
            int numCards [] = new int [5];
            String name [] = new String[4];
            BufferedReader input = new BufferedReader (new InputStreamReader(System.in)); //allows input
    // ask for the number players who wants to play
            System.out.print("Please enter the number of players in this game (2-5): ");
            numPlayers = Integer.parseInt(input.readLine());
    // make sure the entered value is within range
            while (numPlayers < 2 || numPlayers > 5) {
                System.out.println("Invalid number of players ");
                System.out.print("Please enter the number of players in this game (2-5): ");
                numPlayers = Integer.parseInt(input.readLine());
            System.out.println();
    //ask for the names and numebr of cards for entered number of players
    // and make sure the number of cards are within the range,
    //and assign the players that many cards using the BingoPlayer object
            for (int i = 1; i <= numPlayers; i++) {
                System.out.print("Please enter name of player " + i + " : ");
                name[i] = input.readLine();
                System.out.println();
                System.out.print("Please enter the number of cards (1-5) for player " + i + " : ");
                numCards[i] = Integer.parseInt(input.readLine());
                while (numCards[i] < 1 || numCards[i] > 5) {
                    System.out.println("Invalid number of cards for the player " + i);
                    System.out.print("Please enter the number of cards (1-5) for player " + i + " : ");
                    numCards[i] = Integer.parseInt(input.readLine());
                System.out.println();
                players[i] = new BingoPlayer(name, numCards[i]);
    * here it only prints out the information for the last player, instead it should return the information for both of the player
    for (int k = 1; k <= numPlayers; k ++) {
    System.out.println(players[k]);
    //players[k].genCards();
    for example if i enter 2 players:
    Player1: name: Jami, number of cards 1
    Player2: name: Joey, number of cards 2
    in the last loop it just prints out :"Joey, 2" 2 times instead of printing out: "Jami, 1" & "Joey, 2"
    Please someone help! i really need to complete this within 2 days. Thanks in advance

    Without seeing BingoPlayer's implementation, all it
    would be would be a guess.
    My guess: The name and numCards members of that class
    are declared as static, so all instances share the
    same values.Thanks it worked, declaring them static was the main probelm..thank you very much

  • Help- if you use parallels please respond

    Running windows 7 on MacBook pro using parallel desktop 5. All I wanna do is organize my photos that are in the mac pictures directory with windows photo gallery, wfg sees the pictures and I can even delete them, but I can't move a picture from a folder to another folder, I've set read write permissions everywhere I could think of, still no luck, please help. Thankyou

    I use Parallels. What is the Mac pictures directory? Do you mean the Pictures folder in your Home folder? There are probably a number of solutions but perhaps it might be easy for you to just drag the photos you want to put into wpg (windows photo gallery) from the Mac side to the Windows side.

  • Can you help with wireless usb printing?

    I have a D-Link router ([DI-824VUP) that works fine as far as geting online and printing to an ethernet printer,(HP1300n) wirelessly. I recently bought this router because it has a usb printer port, yet I can not get it to see the usb printer (Canon S830D). D-Link was no help, as they don't support Apple wireless printing, even though they do support wired printing via their router. QUESTION-any idea how to get powerbook to see the printer when connected to the router? Printer setup utility does not see it, only the HP. Thanks-bobbabe

    Because this forum software is so absolutely USELESS now, you don't get to see the whole of the question in this view. In the other (non-list) view it says:
    "can you help with a technical problem with the stereo imagery option ? it won't take out lead vocal in a stereo mp3"
    And the answer is that if you can't isolate the vocal in the stereo field, or it is one of these odd ones where it's used inverted polarity in different parts of the stereo signal for the same vocal, then you won't be able to. But without a sample, it's impossible to tell. If you can post a link to one, that might help. It has to be external to this site though - Adobe in their infinite wisdom don't allow the posting of audio files on their audio U2U forum. Helpful, that, isn't it?

  • Some help with the 10g install, please.

    Hi,
    We want to install 10g, we are currently running 9i. We want to do this in silent mode since we have so many databases to move to 10g. We've got a few questions & concerns about the procedures that are supposed to be done.
    If someone could kindly read over some of our concerns, we'd appreciate it.
    First, we used the -record method to create a response file. How much do we have to manually edit that file once Oracle creates it for us? Or is it ready to go after we exit the OUI.
    When we tried to do the install, it said it successfully installed 10g, but it failed on some of the configuration assistants. Do we need to run all of the configuration assistants? I mean, TNS is already configured. Does it change for the 10g install?
    Additionally, once the 10g software is complete, the environment is still set to 9i. How does that get changed for the silent install to continue with the DBUA? I mean, we do have databases that need upgrading.
    Any help with steps would be very helpful to us. We're getting error messages like this:
    The installation of Oracle Database 10g was successful, but some
    optional configuration assistants failed, were cancelled or skipped.
    Please check
    '/ora2/app/oracle/oraInventory/logs/silentInstall2006-10-26_01-26-39PM.log'

  • Need help with threads?.. please check my approach!!

    Hello frnds,
    I am trying to write a program.. who monitors my external tool.. please check my way of doing it.. as whenever i write programs having thread.. i end up goosy.. :(
    first let me tell.. what I want from program.. I have to start an external tool.. on separate thread.. (as it takes some time).. then it takes some arguments(3 arguments).. from file.. so i read the file.. and have to run tool.. continously.. until there are arguments left.. in file.. or.. user has stopped it by pressing STOP button..
    I have to put a marker in file too.. so that.. if program started again.. file is read from marker postion.. !!
    Hope I make clear.. what am trying to do!!
    My approach is like..
    1. Have two buttons.. START and STOP on Frame..
    START--> pressed
    2. check marker("$" sign.. placed in beginning of file during start).. on file..
         read File from marker.. got 3 arg.. pass it to tool.. and run it.. (on separate thread).. put marker.. (for next reading)
         Step 2.. continously..
    3. STOP--> pressed
         until last thread.. stops.. keep running the tool.. and when last thread stops.. stop reading any more arguments..
    Question is:
    1. Should i read file again and again.. ?.. or read it once after "$" sign.. store data in array.. and once stopped pressed.. read file again.. and put marker ("$" sign) at last read line..
    2. how should i know when my thread has stopped.. so I start tool again??.. am totally confused.. !!
    please modify my approach.. if u find anything odd..
    Thanks a lot in advance

    Hello,
    I have no experience with threads or with having more than run "program" in a single java file. All my java files have the same structure. This master.java looks something like this:
    ---master.java---------------------------------------------------
    import java.sql.*;
    import...
    public class Master {
    public static void main(String args []) throws SQLException, IOException {
    //create connection pool here
    while (true) { // start loop here (each loop takes about five minutes)
    // set values of variables
    // select a slave process to run (from a list of slave programs)
    execute selected slave program
    // check for loop exit value
    } // end while loop
    System.out.println("Program Complete");
    } catch (Exception e) {
    System.out.println("Error: " + e);
    } finally {
    if (rSet1 != null)
    try { rSet1.close(); } catch( SQLException ignore ) { /* ignored */ }
    connection.close();
    -------end master.java--------------------------------------------------------
    This master.java program will run continuously for days or weeks, each time through the loop starting another slave process which runs for five minutes to up to an hour, which means there may be ten to twenty of these slave processes running simultaneously.
    I believe threads is the best way to do this, but I don't know where to locate these slave programs: either inside the master.java program or separate slave.java files? I will need help with either method.
    Your help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
