Help with field verification mail form

Could someone help me please? I have a flash and php based mail form that needs to have the fields verified. So when a user does not insert info in the text fields, an error clip will play. The form works fine without the verification of fields, but I want to prevent from receiving blank emails.
The form is created in 2 parts or tutorials since I'm trying to add field verification or error message. Here are the links of the tutorials.
http://www.gotoandlearn.com/play?id=50 and the next link is for the field verification.
http://www.macromediahelp.com/flash/php_flash_contact_form//
I'm using CS3 with AS1 and 2. Here is my original AS without the verification.
stop();
var senderLoad:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
var receiveLoad:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
submit2.onRelease = function() {
senderLoad.name2 = name2.text;
senderLoad.email2 = email2.text;
senderLoad.address2 = address2.text;
senderLoad.phone2 = phone2.text;
senderLoad.sendAndLoad("http://www.agdeal.com/flash/sendmike2.php",receiveLoad);
receiveLoad.onLoad = function() {
if(this.sentOK) {
  _root.gotoAndStop("success");
        else {
  _root.gotoAndStop("failed");
Any help is MUCH Appreciated Thanks.

I'm not quite sure that will work. I seem to be using a whole different kind of actionscript. As you can see in my first post, i'm using 2 frames for success and failed to let the user know what's going on. I have done some modifications since then, adding an "error" mc. It seems to work, but now it won't go to the success frame if all is correct.
I don't really care if I have to use a movie clip or just make it go to another frame. As long as the user knows what's happening. I'm not very good with actionscripting, and as I mentioned in my first post... I used 2 different tutorials for the form. It's like having to match another tutorial that works with what I have already. 1st tutorial was for the form itself. But then I found that I need to have fields validated so that's what the second link is. Below is my modified AS. I would upload my form document but it appears I can't upload a zip file let alone a .fla. Otherwise my email is [email protected] if anyone needs to see my source files if that could help.
stop();
submit2.onRelease = function() {
    if (name2.text == "" || email2.text == "" || address2.text == "" || phone2.text == "")
        error_clip.gotoAndPlay(2);
    else
        error_clip.gotoAndStop(1);
var senderLoad:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
var receiveLoad:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
        senderLoad.name2 = name2.text;
        senderLoad.email2 = email2.text;
        senderLoad.address2 = address2.text;
        senderLoad.phone2 = phone2.text;
        senderLoad.sendAndLoad("http://www.agdeal.com/flash/sendm2.php",receiveLoad);
receiveLoad.onLoad = function() {
if(this.sentOK) {
  _root.gotoAndStop("success");
        else {
  _root.gotoAndStop("failed");

  • I need help with a 1 Page Form with scrollable text field (5000 limit characters) and printing

    Hello, I have no training in using Adobe Acrobat Pro or Livecycle Designer so I need major help with a 1 page form that I am attempting to create. Basically the form will be used to nominate employees for a Job Well Done Award.
    The form contains the following:
    1.) The name(s) of the employees being nominated and the date of the accomplishment.
    2.) In the middle of the page I have a section for a write up, limited to 5000 characters, this is were I am needing the most help. A couple of things, about this section: The font is set at 11 and I don't want it to change. The text field has multiple-line, scroll long text enabled. The text field is a certain size and can only hold so much text, then it starts to scroll, which I am ok with, I like that feature. The issue I am having is during printing. I would like to keep the text field scrollable but when I print I would like to be able to print everything in that field. Executing this is the problem, I have no clue how to do it. I was hoping for some setting within Acrobat Pro or LiveCycle to be available, but the more I read and research this, it appears that it may require java, xml, basically some coding. I don't know for sure.
    3.) Below the text field I have another field for the person nominating to type their name and right next to that another field for a digital signature.
    4.) And finally below those two fields I have a Submit button that is setup to start email application so the form can be emailed to the proper inbox.
    Thank you in advance.

    With an Acrobat form the only thing you can do is export the text to
    another location (like a blank field on another page) or to another file
    format. With an LCD form you can expand the text box itself, but you'll
    need to ask about that over at the LCD Scripting forum.

  • Help with OSX server mail setup

    Please if anyone can tell me what I am doing wrong, I would be very grateful.  I have a company with an externaly hosted website and an an internally hosted email (OSX server).  I have everything kind of working, but some things don't seem quite right.  I'll explain below:
    I have a purchased domain: mycompany.com hosted by godaddy.
    I am using Godaddy name servers: ns65.domaincontrol.com and ns66.domaincontrol.com
    The external godaddy DNS has an a name entry for my mail server: mail pointing to 123.123.123.123 (which is my companies external static IP address).
    There is also a null (@) a name record for my website hosting service (squarespace) pointing to 456.456.456.456
    There is a cName record www pointing to the squarespace domain "www.squarespace6.com"  (know this is unusual, but it is how squarespace asks this to be set up and does not work otherwise)
    There is an MX record with priority 10 and host name @ pointing to mail.mycompany.com
    I have a airport extreme router with the appropriate ports forwarded to the OSX server.
    The DNS servers on the router are pointed to the internal IP address of the OSX server
    I did not change the domain name on the router (mistake?) it is currently san.rr.com
    On the OSX server I have set up host name to be mycompany.comDNS is set up with primary zone being mycompany.com
    Primary Zone entries include
    nameserver = mycompany.com
    machine record host name is mycompany.com and the IP address is the internal IP address of the OSX server
    another machine record with host name "mail" and IP address is the internal IP address of the OSX server.
    Finally, there is a mail exchanger record with mail server "mail.mycompany.com" and priority 10
    There are 2 entries autocreated in the Reverse zone
    Mail is setup and running on the OSX server providing mail for "mail.mycompany.com"
    Users are setup with email address: [email protected] (note: without the mail subdomain - I think this is OK?)
    I am using self signed certificate.
    In my clients (windows Thunderbird, Mac Mail, iOS mail), the settings are for the incoming mail server host name to be "mail.mycompany.com" and the outgoing also to be "mail.mycompany.com"
    I woud have expected this to be imap.mycompany.com and smtp.mycompany.com respectively, but it doesn't work when I input these values and works with the former.  Have I set this up wrong??  imap seems to require SSL on port 993 and SMTP seems to require TLS on port 587.Outlook on PC gives me an error that after googling appears to be a problem with not recognizing a fuly qualified hostname form the SMTP client.  I see the fix, but wanted to know if that meant that my server didn't have a fully qualified host name and whether I should change that rather than just remove that restriction???
    The final problem is that my outgoing emails seem to be getting caught up in other people's spam filters too frequently.  What is the main reason for this?  Is it because I have set something up wrong and it brings up flags or is it simply because I am not a huge hosting company, or somethign else althogether?
    If you've gotten this far, big thanks!  If you can help me, even more thanks!

    Well, actually they are both getting caught up in spam filters and bounced back.  I actually realized that part of the problem is that I have a dynamic IP address, but it doesn't change.  Regardless, on the bounce back it looks like hotmail and other domains are rejecting email from my IP and recognize it as dynamic.  This was a test server that i would by physically taking to my business where there is a static business IP address (Cox).
    Sorry for the very long original message, but it seems that most people don't post enough information for the problem to be solved in their original posts and I was hoping to provide as much detail as possible.
    The other is the question of "are things set up right?"  It seems strange to me that both my outgoing and incoming servers are "mail.mycompany.com" and not imap.mycompany.com and smtp.mycompany.com and I wonder if this is going to cause me to have problems?
    Is it a problem that my email addresses are [email protected] and not [email protected]?
    Was I supposed to change the domain name on the router?
    Also is it going to be a problem that I am using a self signed certificate?

  • Help with the insert table/form tool in BIP 10.1.3.2.1

    Hi, I'm trying to use the insert table/form tool in BIP, and running into some issues that I don't understand. First off, my data coming in looks like this (left column of tool):
    Rowset
    --- Row
    ------ Customer ID
    ------ Customer Name
    ------ Customer City
    ------ Product
    ------ Amount Sold
    I would like the output to do the following:
    a) have one page per customer. Customer should be determined by customer ID, and has attributes of customer ID, customer Name, Customer City
    b) Show a table of all products and the total Amount Sold by product for that customer
    c) Give a "grand total" for the customer
    Can someone help with the steps needed to do this? I've tried several variations of the following without much luck:
    1) Added Rowset and all children to the "Template" pane
    2) Clicked on the "Row" group, and set Grouping = Customer ID, with a break of "New page per Element"
    3) Clicked on the newly created (from step 2) Cust ID group, and set it to group by Product
    4) Moved "amount sold" to be at same level as Product
    5) Moved all of the customer attributes (name, address, etc.) to be at same level as Cust ID
    6) On the Cust ID level, set the style to table
    7) on row and rowset levels, set style to free form
    This seems to be VERY close, except that it isn't creating a total amount for the sum of all products purchased by a customer. What do I need to do inside the tool to get a total per customer to show up?
    Thanks in advance!
    Scott
    p.s. the final hierarchy in the template window looks like this:
    Rowset (style = freeform, no grouping/sort by/breaks)
    --- Row (style = freeform, group by customer ID, break new page per element)
    ------ Customer ID (style = table, group by product, no breaks)
    --------- Product (nothing special)
    --------- Amount Sold (calc for grouping = SUM)
    ------ Customer Name (nothing special)
    ------ Customer City (nothing special)
    Thanks very much for the help!
    Scott

    To anyone else who sees this post, the answer is to do the following. Insert the Amount Sold field using the "Insert Field" tool, and set the function to sum, with the grouping checkbox turned on.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Help with setting up Mail on 2 Macs?

    I'm switching from Mailsmith to Apple Mail. I have exported all my Mailsmith mailboxes and successfully imported them into Mail on the desktop Mac, then recreated each in the On My Mac section and dragged all the pertinent messages from the imported boxes to the newly created ones.
    This is my first experience with IMAP and Mail and while I like the fact of being able to access all my incoming mail on both Macs - the G4MDD and the MBP - they run different versions of Mail as the G4 has Leopard 10.5.8 installed while the MBP runs Snow Leopard 10.6.8 with its later version of the Mail app.
    What I would like to do is have the same mailboxes on both Macs. Is there any way of exporting or moving the database of the On My Mac mailboxes from Mail on the G4MDD to Mail on the MBP?
    I'm not sure how this is supposed to work, but I imagine one keeps the active online version's Inbox etc. fairly lean and archives messages to the appropriate mailboxes in the On My Mac section, but unless one does it on both Macs, one no longer would have access to the archived messages on the other machine. Or does one create all the mailboxes in the online/upper portion of Mail so they will all be online and thus always available to all Macs? But if something happens (server messups do happen, even to Apple) one would then risk losing all past history, since the reference Mail is the online version and not the local ones.
    Colour me confused. Newbie to Mail so I would appreciate any advice.
    Thanks

    Worries
    Ok, I've read another article where it says, similarly to the Help bit you quoted:
    "In Mail, you can simply drag one or more mail-boxes from your mailbox list onto the icon representing your IMAP server. Mail copies the mailboxes (even nested ones) and their contents to the server, creating new mailboxes as needed."
    I can't find any icon representing my IMAP server in the Mail window. Nor do I see any IMAP accounts in that window. I see Inboxes for my various accounts (as well as Sent and Trash) but nothing as described in the above quote. Dragging or Option dragging a Mailbox I had created from the On My Mac section to the upper one dosn't work. Sigh. What am I missing?

  • Please help with submitting a pdf form

    I've spend the last few days (literally) searching and searching - in this forum and across the web - for a SIMPLE solution to this problem and found nothing. Actually, I have found a few posts apparently trying to do the same thing I am, but with never a solution beyond "hire a programmer." Maybe  I'm missing something obvious out there, and if so please feel free to  throw tomatoes at me (along with a link I can get what I need - lol)
    At this point I'm completely stumped - furthermore, I'm not a code guru in the slightest. In my research, I did find and buy a script that was supposed to do what I needed - but it doesn't so I'm still stuck and $50 in the hole.
    Moving on, I realize this may be a rather low-tech request given the power of Adobe forms, but I have a client who wants it this way so that's the way it has to be. So, here we go...
    My client wants his website viewers to complete an employment application pdf form and click <submit>
    I have the form completely finished and ready to go
    He then wants to receive that same completed form as a PDF document as an email attachment
    He cares nothing about processing the form DATA (fields) becuase he simply wants to print the form and save it to his computer for future reference
    However...
    Most of the people viewing and completing this app are NOT computer savvy
    In fact, many viewers use public computers (such as at a library) and have no email capabilities or the ability to save the form
    So I cannot use the basic submit-by-email function (that requires a desktop email client)
    So far what I've been trying to do (with the purchased script referred to above) is direct my <submit> button to the url of the php script on the client's server. If I select "html" in the (pdf) submit dialogue box, I do in fact get the DATA from the form in an email. But that's not what I need. If I select "entire pdf document" in the submit dialogue box, I get an error w/ the script.
    In my research I've read that the form DATA can be sent to the server, then parsed back into a PDF form. This seems logical but unnecessary. Also this is an 8 page form with LOTS of data fields, some are required others are optional.
    Is there ANY WAY to have the same form a viewer is filling out and submitting simply sent as an email attachment from the server the form is hosted on???

    Yes, that's possible, and I have just the script...
    Sorry, I couldn't resist.
    I would suggest that the best approach is to set up the form to submit just the form data as an FDF file. This avoids the limitations associated with Reader-enabling the form, which is necessary for the entire filled-in form to be submitted. You mentioned that just sending the form data is logical but unnecesary, but this will be by far the most reliable method.
    Now, you just need a server-side program (script) that processes the form submission. Here's what the script would do:
    1. Accept the incoming data and check that it is a valid FDF.
    2. Attach the FDF to an email message that gets sent to your client
    The recipient of the email can launch the FDF attachment and the corresponding PDF will load and get populated with the data in the FDF. The filled-in PDF can then be viewed/printed/saved.

  • Need help with Rules for mail accounts

    Today I deleted a rule for a mail account and now I cant receive mail in 4 of 8 accounts. I'm not experienced with Mac's Mail program. Id there something you have to do for multiple accounts to recieve all mail? I can send but not receive.
    Help!

    It's hard to believe that deleting a rule could have a bearing on the ability to receive messages from any account... unless that rule did something that prevented subsequent rules to process the messages that you apparently can't receive now.
    That is, either having deleted the rule has absolutely no bearing on your problem, or the problem is that those messages are now being processed in an unexpected way by some of your other rules.
    What type of accounts are these (POP, IMAP, .Mac)? What does "I cant receive mail in 4 of 8 accounts" mean?

  • Help with GMAIL in Mail Program....

    Hi,
    I am using the Apple Mail Program in Leopard and just picked up a Gmail account. I want to set up my Gmail account on 4 different computers work/home/laptop) that I access all the time and am hoping I can set it up so that wherever I check my mail it looks more or less like it does on Gmail.com with respect to the emails:
    1. All mail that I've deleted on another computer is gone from all the other computers when checking mail on those other computers. Is that possible??? Currently, I use a bellsouth.net account and a .mac account, and when I log on to any of the computers via the mail program, it gives me all of my 'new mail', whether or not it was deleted on another computer.
    2. Sent mail. Is there any way to send it on one computer's Mail program and have it show up in my Sent box on the other computers?
    3. Ditto on Trash and other folders
    I did try to set it up my Gmail account using IMAP but I thendeleted the account on Mail because it looked 'weird'. I had a Mailbox in my Inbox for the Gmail account and then also another whole separate, duplicate Gmail account (with All Mail, Drafts, Sent Mail, Spam, Starred, and Trash Folders) further down the left side of mail. In testing an email to gmail account from my .mac account, the mail ended up in two places in my Mail and deleting one did not delete the others.
    If this cannot work, I can just go to gmail.com. BUT, I so love MAIL that I am hoping there is a fix to all this.
    Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    My recollection is that unless you are a paid Hotmail account member, you cannot use Mail. Do a search within the discussion group, as I am not an expert, but I recall not getting Hotmail for that very reason.
    Perhaps give gmail a try.....
    That said....I still need some help with my posting! So please and thank you.

  • Need help with student verification

    My daughter bought Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on Amazon new and then we followed the directions on Adobe to verify she is a student in high school.  It has been 3 days and we still have not recieved the activation code to use our product?  The Adobe support is horrible (I have been on the phone for hours with no one ever answering) and there is nowhere to submit a ticket.

    Unfortunately there is no one in the forums that can do much to help you since most of us are product users like your daughter, and any employees here do not have much ability to process anything in your favor beyond possibly checking a status.

  • Can anyone help with my PHP contact form please!

    Hi all,
    I've just implemented the email contact form as described in the PHP Solutions book by David Powers and it is working fine.
    What I'm having problems with is my form is at the bottom of a long page and you have to scroll or click a link to get to it, which means that when the submit button is pressed, whether the form is successfully submitted or a field hasn't been completed, the user ends up back at the top of the page having to scroll back down to the form before they can see the feedback (either thanking them for submitting or pointing out that they have tried to submit an incomplete form).
    Can anyone tell me how I can make the page redirect upon clicking submit so that the user returns to the part of the page where the form is so they can see the feedback instead of going to the top of the page where the form is out of view.
    Many thanks,
    Karl.

    I've attached the entire code from the page plus the css so you can see what's going on and in additiion I've put in the corefuncs.php include code.
    Hope that's enough, thanks for looking.
    Cheers,
    Karl.

  • Help with Sample 'Purchase Order' form

    HI Guys,
    Have been playing around with the supplied sample file 'Purchase Order'
    At the bottom of the form is a Part No., Description and Cost field that populate from a PartNoScript routine.
    Have been trying to copy this routine into my own form as its nearly the same.
    Question is  - There is a line 2/3rds down
      -  function getDesc(partNumber, descField, itemPrice)
    Where is the partName, DescField, ItemPrice store or located. I've looked in all the scripts, looked at the form fields and cannot find what these three relate too.
    I'm assume it must be the field name somehow but just cant seem to find them.
    Any help much appreciated.
    Dave

    Hi Dave,
    Just to recap:
    There is script in the change event of the dropdown that calls the getDesc() function:
    // Populate the description and the unit price when we change the part number.
    partNoScript.getDesc(xfa.event.newText, txtDescription, numUnitPrice);
    This passes three parameters into the function:
    xfa.event.newText is the new item in the list that the user has just selected.
    txtDescription is the name of the Description object in the same Row that the user has selected from the dropdown.
    numUnitPrice is the name of the Unit Price object in the same Row that the user has selected from the dropdown.
    So the function is going to be receiving three pieces of information: the new value of the dropdown; the object deference for Description; and the object reference for Unit Price.
    Now if we look at the first line of the function:
    function getDesc(partNumber, descField, itemPrice)
    You can see that the function assigns the incoming parameters to new variables: partNumber; descField; and itemPrice. These variables only live within the function.
    For the purpose of the script in the function:
    partNumber = the value of the txtPartNum dropdown.
    descField = the object reference for the txtDesciption object in the Row that called the function.
    itemPrice = the object reference for the numUnitPrice object in the Row that called the function.
    Passing the value of the dropdown into the function is fairly straightforward (txtPartNum/partNumber). The clever bit is passing the object reference for the other objects in the Row into the function (eg txtDescription/descField).
    The script in the function includes a loop, which looks at the array. If the selected part number is in the array, then it sets the value of the txtDescription object in the same Row, by referencing the descField variable:
    descField.rawValue = partDesc[i];
    Does that make sense?
    In relation to the dropdowns:
    You can access the scripts in the Script Editor (5), including enter event, exit event, etc.
    You can access most of the dropdown properties in the various palettes (6).
    Hope that helps,

  • Little help with making an email form.

    can any of you lovely, lovely people point me in the
    direction of a good Dreamweaver CS3 tutorial on how to make an
    email form. Preferably one with a "conform email address" text
    field.
    Thanks all!
    P.S. I have tried looking.

    There is god general training available at www.lynda.com .
    Its $25 a month for online video viewing. The title is called
    Dreamweaver CS3 - Beyond the Basics.
    I also would recommend a free form mail solution like
    www.tectite.com which I have used before. It is more powerful that
    the spry widget in dreamweaver, but is on the server side and not
    the user application side.

  • Need Help With Spam Proof Email Form

    I am making a new web site using iWeb, .Mac, personal domain and forwarding from my commercial host. I want to make an email contact form that spammers cannot hijack and use to deluge use with spam. I have another web site that was created with Dreamweaver that contains a javascript form that I think that I can modify and use as an html snippet in iWeb.
    Will this work in iWeb (sending a form response to non-.mac email address? The form I am using relies on two small text documents that are stored in the templates folder of my site. The following code refers to the one line of text in the confige document.
    <input type=hidden name="config" value="templates/confige.txt">
    <input type=hidden name="success_url" value="http://myothersite.com">
    <input type=hidden name="email" value="[email protected]">
    Text of confige: mail_template=templates/emailTemplate.txt
    The confige document refers to the following text which are the field names and order.
    Name: <first>
    Store Name: <store>
    Location: <city>
    E-mail: <custemail>
    Platform: <platform>
    Comments:<storeDescription>
    How do I deal with the text documents that are stored in a separate folder in my Dreamweaver site, and can I eliminate these documents and use just the html form in iWeb?

  • Help with ActionScript/PHP email form

    Hey guys, hope someone can help me out with this!
    Haven't programmed in a while, but a friend asked me to look
    at this and figure out why it isn't working. It's a simple form,
    with the text boxes labeled inTxt_1, inTxt_2 ..... inTxt_13.
    The ActionScript looks like this ...
    Code:
    submit.onRelease = function () {
    var loadv = new LoadVars();
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_1 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_1.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_2 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_2.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_3 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_3.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_4 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_4.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_5 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_5.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_6 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_6.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_7 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_7.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_8 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_8.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_9 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_9.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_10 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_10.text;
    loadv._level0.mc1.inTxt_11 = _level0.mc1.inTxt_11.text;
    loadv.send("email.php",loadv,"POST");
    (Quick question ... why is the _level0.mc1 part needed? Or is
    it even required?)
    Here's the PHP ...
    Code:
    <?php
    $To = "[email protected]";
    $subject = "site reply";
    $Name = $_POST["inTxt_1"];
    $Email = $_POST["inTxt_2"];
    $Company = $_POST["inTxt_3"];
    $Position = $_POST["inTxt_4"];
    $Address = $_POST["inTxt_5"];
    $Address1 = $_POST["inTxt_6"];
    $Address2 = $_POST["inTxt_7"];
    $ZipCode = $_POST["inTxt_8"];
    $Country = $_POST["inTxt_9"];
    $Tel = $_POST["inTxt_10"];
    $Enquiry = $_POST["enquiry"];
    $Comments = $_POST["inTxt_11"];
    \$headers = "From: " . $_POST["inTxt_1"]. "<" .
    $_POST["inTxt_2"] .">\r\n";
    $headers .= "Reply-To: " . $_POST["inTxt_2"] . "\r\n";
    $headers .= "Return-path: " . $_POST["inTxt_2"];
    $message = "Name: $Name\n";
    $message .= "Position: $Position\n";
    $message .= "Company: $Company\n";
    $message .= "Email: $Email\n";
    $message .= "Address: $Address\n";
    $message .= "Address1: $Address1\n";
    $message .= "Address2: $Address2\n";
    $message .= "Zip Code: $ZipCode\n";
    $message .= "Country: $Country\n";
    $message .= "Enquiry: $Enquiry\n";
    $message .= "Phone: $Tel\n";
    $message .= "Comments: $Comments\n";
    mail($To, $subject, $message, $headers);
    Print "Your mail has been sent";
    ?>
    (Another question - why does the one $headers line have a /
    infront of it? Should it be there?)
    Now when I submit it, "Your mail has been sent" appears on
    the screen, but I don't receive an e-mail. Can anyone help me??
    Thanks so much!!
    ~Ganj
