Help with incrementing time (in excel)

Hi!
I need to find the difference between a start time and end time, calculate how much time has elapsed and divide that time period by a variable number of workers. (I have gotten that far with the formulas).
Then I need to take the resulting minutes in that time period per worker, and add it to the start time, and that is where I could use some help!
For an example, if the start time is 5:30 pm, and the end time is 6:00 pm, and I have 5 workers, I will get the amount of time per worker as 6 minutes. How would I create a formula to add the amount of time per worker back to the original start
time so that I can get a result of 5:36 PM?
1. In cell A2 I have:-

=(B2-A2)
This displays a result of:-
00:30:00
4. In cell D2 I have:-

Does that give you what you want?
The information above is in European time system (what Americans call, "military" time).
If you are in the US just input the times in the formats that you would normally do and you should get the same results as I do except in AM / PM format.

Help with exporting to an Excel spreadsheet

I would first like to say that I am a student working on a
data acquisition system for a company I have an internship with. I have used LabVIEW in classes a lot but have
very limited experience in creating VIs on my own
(this is the first time Im doing this without a specific guide as I had in
class). This VI will be used to monitor
the efficiency of an air pollution control system so it will be running
continuously for a few days at a time so there will be a lot of data points. The company I work for would like the VI to record
the data from each signal every 30 secs or so to the same excel file with the
time/date the reading was taken included in each row. So far the VI uses the DAQ
assistant to take in data from temperature, humidity, and pressure thermocouples
and displays the readings on the front panel.
That part is fine, but as you know it doesnt export the data. The only thing I have tried that has worked
is the "Write to Measurement File"
way of doing this, but the format it puts the data in is not practical
for analysis as it has a lot of extraneous information included with every
reading. Another problem that I have run
into is trying to split up the VI so I can have real-time readings on the front
panel, but have the delay of taking samples that are exported to the text file. My idea is to put the signals and front panel
gauges in its own while loop and then the file exporting part of the VI inside
its own while loop with the "Time Delay" icon. To me all of this seems like it should be
very simple to fix, but my lack of experience with LabVIEW is really hampering
my progress. Hopefully someone can

One additional thing to note is that the latest code that was posted didn't actually write to an Excel file. It wrote to a file that you can open with Excel - after wading through a dialog box that tells Excel how to read it. Depending on what you are wanting to do with the data next, this is a potentially significant distinction.

Need help with new Time Capsule/Airport express setup!

I just hooked up a 500g time capsule to replace an airport extreme, and now my airport utility on my MacbookPro Retina no longer recognizes the airport expresses I had on my network for airplay purposes. Can anyone help with this issue?

Instead of a switch you need a wireless router, because your modem will only assign one public ip address to the switch and that ip address will be forwarded to any one computer at a given time...You should replace the switch with a wireless router and it should resolve your concern...

Help with pivot tables in excel

Hello,
I need some help with a very specific issue I am getting in excel.
So, I have this pivot table that gets data from an external source (a huge database) and everything is working fine.
The problem comes with some lines in our database that are written in asian letters (the thai alphabet). Every thai entry that we import appears like ????????.
I can look into the DB (via MySQL Workbench) and everything is alright in there. I can also just copy some of the content into excel and the letters shows up normally.
Is there something I can do to fix it?

I can see it is working fine for roman/latin characteres, and it is not working for thai or japanese characteres. Since I dont have data written using the russian or the arabic alphabet, there is no way I can tell you if it would or not work..

Import it into iTunes and create an iPhone version. In iTunes highlight the video, then Advanced>Create and iPod or iPhone Version. Sync this version to your phone.

Help with saving time stamps to "write to measurement file" excel format.

I am having problems saving the timestamps from my data to the write to measurement express vi for excel. My incoming data is converted from dynamic data to a 1d array for processing, which I understand you lose the time stamp data. I added a new array for time stamps but this array then cannot be converted back to the dynamic data that is requested to go into the write to measurement file express vi. I would prefer to leave the data in an array to be saved rather than converting it to a waveform so is there any way to add the time stamps from my 1d array back into the write to measurement file?

I set it up to build a waveform now but I am still having issues with it saving the correct timestamp. The time just incriments for every second (as it did before converting the dynamic data to the waveform). I attached a screenshot.

Need help with question about Microsoft Excel?

I have recently begun using Microsoft Office for Mac. My question is related to the Excel program. I have used this for years on a PC where when the program opens, it shows a Workbook with a single page. However, on the Mac, when it opens, it shows many pages, the first going from column A to G, the second going from H to N, etc. and each page with the text "Click to add data". This continues forever. I would like to have just one sheet as on the PC. I have not found a way to limit this view to a single page. I have looked in the Preferences and in "View", but nothing seems to change the configuration. Any suggestions?

My zoom only shows the magnification and does not give a "one page" option. However, I did find an icon that I loaded into the menu bar which gives the one page view. This may be due to the version 2004 that I am using.
I also find that if I want to change the number of columns and rows, I change the size of each. I assume this is correct.
Thanks for the help. This is slightly different that the PC version, but I am sure over time, there will be no problem.

Need help with Report Generation Toolkit: Excel Set Cell Format.vi

I've been searching and found this old thread of someone asking what is the input parameter "Number format". And I dont know what should I put in there. I've tried so many possibilities, but nothing works so far, such as:
0,0
0,?
0,#
#,0
?,0
and also with @, doesnt works. Where would I find help about this parameter?
I'm using Excel2003, german version, thus local decimal separator is a comma.
I also found this help from NI, but seems doesnt help me either. Do I miss something important?

I've used your suggestion and some numbers in excel doesnt need to get "right click, change to numbers" anymore (green indicators on the left-top side in some cells are gone). But, I think its still not a number, because I cant use a simple formula, such as in cell A10 I type "= A1/2" (cell A10 equals cell A1 divided with 2) . I got error which says its not a number.
Well, but other thing is found, any format-string I put in the input of Excel Set Cell Format.vi, such as #,########, will be shown the same as "customize #,########" if I right click in a cell in excel and click "Zellen formatieren" (formatting cell). But however, the numbers are still depends on the input of the format I put in the Append Table to Report.vi.

Making a Quiz in Flash. Need help with input time

I'm making currently a quiz using Flash Pro CS5. What I want to implent is a time bar which will load once the bar is loaded it will go to the next frame.
So what I need is first a timer which will start immediately when the user sees the question and I need a time bar which will indicate how far the timing is. So let's say you have 30 seconds to answer the quiz. When the timer is at 15 seconds the bar will be at half.

Help with using autosum in excel 2008 on mac mountain lion

I am coming from pc world... love my new mac....and excel autosum is not working on my new macbook pro. I click autosum at the bottom
of a column with 8 numbers highlighted as I did on pc. And the correct sum shows in the cell where I want the total. But
when I click enter, the sum does not add the numbers. It just shows the sum formula. HELP! Been searching online all day for the answer!

The numbers I enter are showing up on the left side of the cell in the column rather than on the right side as they used to on the pc.
To set the alignment of text or numerals:
select the cells (could be one cell, a row, a column or a whole sheeti),
click Format in the menu bar and select cells,
click alignment on the top of the pane, then horizontal.
(You see that alignment is just one of the cell attributes you can set with this procedure)
I go to the tool bar, click autosum
You have to first select the cell where you want the autosum to be entered, then click autosum.
This way you can enter the sum of A3 thru A12 in cell P26 if that's what you want. The trick is to select P26 before autosum.
The autosum command will guess which set of cells to sum, usually the cells just above or to the left. But you can over ride that selection by selecting a different set of cells

Help with a timer?

Here's what I want to do:
When the mouse is pressed (on mouseDown), set sprite.BlendLevel to a value (I know how to do this).
When the mouse is lifted, begin a timer. If the mouse has not been pressed after 30 seconds, the sprite.BlendLevel value changes.
(I want this timer to reset every time the mouse enters a mouseUp state. HOWEVER, it should not reset every frame update - ONLY when the mouse is first lifted.)
Basically, I'm making it so a touch screen app fades if it hasn't been touched for 30 seconds (with just one big sprite overlaying it at varying blend levels). That's all.
I can't wrap my mind around timers, so that's why I'm having problems with figuring this out.

Is that the sort of thing that you are looking for? It's currently set to trigger after 5 seconds, but you could use...
the timeOutLength = 1800
... in line 13 of the Fade Behavior, to make it wait 30 seconds (1800 = 30 seconds * 60 ticks/second) before it triggers.

Help with incremental bck

I am trying to backup the dev and uat database to FRA using RMAN incremental backup option. The script is

Ok so from what I understand is that with this stratergy,
on day one RMAN will not find any level 0 bkp so it will do a full backup.
day 1, incremental backup
day 2, incremental backup again
day 3, incremental backup will be merged to level 0 bckp and day 0 bkp will be useless.
day 4, incremental backup will be merged to day 1 backup making day 1 backup as level 0.
day 5, incremental backup will be merged to day 2 backup making day 2 backup as level 0.
day 6, incremental backup will be merged to day 3 backup making day 3 backup as level 0.
Is that correct >>?? if so, then should I rerun the level 0 backup again on sunday ??? or should I keep on running this scrip.

Help with PC- Time Capsule direct ethernet connection

First let me say that PCs are a total mystery to me - I am a Mac person all the way. That being said, I do own a PC for the occasional situation where I can't do what I need to do on a Mac (something that is happening less and less these days).
I just got a TIme Capsule that I configured through my MacBook and which is working fine. I am trying to hook up my PC (which does not have wireless capability) via a direct ethernet connection. The PC seems to recognize that it's on a local network, but cannot connect to the Internet. I have tried going through the various network configuration wizards on the PC and nothing seems to be what I need. Help has been useless. Can anyone help give me some hints about what I need to do to get the PC to recognize that there is an Internet on the other side of the Time Capsule connection?

I am still interested, thanks! Just couldn't get to things during the week. I am running WIndows XP Home Edition. I have to ask you to spell out things a little bit more. To start with setting DHCP - I am not sure how to do that. I tried using Help and it gives me nothing useful.
When I run Network Connections I see a Local Area Connection listed. Type: LAN or High-Speed Internet. Status: Connected: Device Name: Broadcom 440x 10/100 Integrated Controller. Phone # or Host Address: <blank> Owner: System.
Double click it, get Status: Connected, Duration: <counting up> Speed: 100.0 Mbps.
Under Support, Connection Status, everything is blank (Address Type, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway). This does not seem good. But I am not allowed to enter anything on this screen. If I click Repair, it says "Window could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: Failed to query TCP/IP settings of the connection. Cannot proceed. For assistance, contact the person who manages your network. (LOL - that would be me)"
There's a control panel for the Broadcom Advanced Control Suite. The IP Address is 192.168.0.101. I don't see anything there about DHCP or TCP/IP.
There's an "Internet Options" controller, where I found an Internet Connections Wizard, but that doesn't seem to do it. I say I want to connect to the internet using an ethernet connection, and then it says "Your broadband connectiion should already be configured and ready to use. If your connection is not working properly, click the following link. (Which is "Learn more about broadband connections"). This is a help page that sends me back to Network Connections (where I started).
Nowhere have a found a place to set DHCP or addresses.
Please, if you can, tell me where to look to adjust these settings. Thanks very much for your help.

Help with Quick Time on Iweb

I'm wondering if someone will be able to help me. I'm new to iWeb and published an iMovie. When I publish to iWeb, the only thing that appears is the Quick Time logo. I'm sure that I must have done something wrong but I don't know what it is. The link is below.

I checked out your movie and it's already quite small. Making it much smaller is going to hurt quality. What we need to do is have it Fast Start at least so that people waiting for it to download will be able to see a part of it.
Try the QuickTime export
File -> Export
Choose QuickTime
Choose Web
Click Share
(save it to your desktop so it'll be easy to find for the next step).
Then open iWeb and find that movie page, delete the movie that's there and replace it with the one you just exported. Post back once it's up and I'll take another look.
(It should be just as straightforward as you think it should be, but the iWeb export has been found to be lacking as far as not being able to resize for widescreen video, so maybe it's not setting Fast Start as well).
EDIT: And, just as I test a widescreen movie, it exports to iWeb just fine!

Any help with a Time Capsule install and Mac Mini server screen share?

Installed a Time Capsule, now I can't access my mac mini server. I see the files/folders, but cannot screen share with the mini from my macbook pro. Any help? Error below when trying to use the "screen share" button in Finder. Macbook Pro and Mac Mini are using Mountain Lion 10.8.2.
Connection Failed Error: Please make sure that Screen Sharing (in the Sharing section of System Preferences) is enabled on the computer to which you are attempting to connect. Also make sure your network connection is working properly.
Please help, I'm really stuck on this one!

Try removing the TC and see if the problem disappears.

There are many discussions about failing after changes in Lion.. I haven't seen the equivalent ML yet.. the TC may not be root cause, just the initiator of the problem.
It could be the BTMM associated with the TC.
