Help with running elements 11

I bought elements 11 and it wont work on my computer. I Installed it all correctly and I get a system error everytime i try to run the program. "The program can't start because DCIMAN32.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I have no idea what that means, and have unistalled and reinstalled this twice now. An hour later still same thing. My other adobe stuff like lightroom work on my computer, its only four months old. I have elemets 9 and it started saying the same thing a month ago and thats why i bought this one, to hopefully fix the problem. Nope, still there, what can i do to fix this and run photoshop?

Hello there, just to let you know, I still cant get it to deactivate but I have been on to adobe and they have sorted my serial number out so that I can use it on my new machine

Before purchasing the Epson r2000, I owned an r1800 which was an excellent printer but after seven years started to exhibit paper feed problems. The r1800 worked with all applications and I was well satisfied with the saturation, contrast, etc. printing mostly 8x10 and 11x17 prints.

Barbara Brundage, can you help with PS Elements 11 and Epson R2000 printer issue?

Seeking help with PS Elements 11 which does not work with Epson r2000 printer. Epson tech support could not fix, said it is PS e11 problem. Receive prompt on PS e11 screen when I try to print stating "not compatible or settings are not correct. Have set PS to manage color and printer manages color to off. Be grateful for your help with Photoshop Elements which I have been using for several years. Does Elements need to have access to ‘My Pictures’ on Windows as when I remove Photos from ‘My Pictures’, Elements later, when backing up, gives a message that it is unable to ‘reconnect’ to the same picture on elements. On other occasions when removing a photo from Elements catalogue I also get a similar message when backing up saying ‘unable to reconnect’. 1. Is there a relationship between Elements and My Pictures and is Elements dependant on the Windows ‘My Pictures’? 2. Why does some photos in Elements in some cases cause them to multiply e.g. double; triple; quadruple; and on occasions even more? Is there something I need to do to stop this or an easy way I can remove the multiples without spending hours doing it manually one by one? Am I doing something wrong? My O/S is Windows XP SP2 and windows Vista on my Laptop. I have been using Elements 5 and have just purchased Photoshop Elements 8.0. (Upgrade) and about to install it. Be grateful for any advice as I do enjoy using the program if only I can resolve this issue. I am not a PC wiz and mainly use Elements to catalogue photos from which I compile collections and from them slide shows with music. The organizer doesn't care where you send your photos when you download them via the downloader or where they happen to be when you first bring them in if you use the Get Photos command, but once your pics are in the Organizer, you *must* move them from within organizer or it can't find them. You don't have to use My Pictures at all if you don't want to, but regardless of the folder where you put your photos, if you want them someplace else, you use organizer to do it.

Help with Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer

I need some help with my new Photoshop Elements 9 Organizer.
I have not had previous versions of Photoshop, this was a brand new installation. I had previously used Kodak software which came with my camera to organize and edit pictures.
My PC is approximately 6 years old. I have a 2.2 ghz processor and 1.5 GB of RAM. I am running Windows XP Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3.
The software seemed to install just fine. I then imported some pictures from my Kodak folders into the Photoshop Organizer. After importing pictures I then received the following error message:
'Elements 9 Organizer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
If I remove the pictures from the catalog, I no longer get the error message. As soon as I import any pictures, however, I get the error and the software closes. When I reopen the organizer I get the same error after after about 15 seconds
I have tried the following:
uninstalled an re-installed twice
turned off the automatic backup to photoshop.com
I did come across thread 769749 (http://forums.adobe.com/thread/769749) that offered some advice. Based on that, I optimized my catalog (which was empty), repaired my catalog (which was empty). I also created a new catalog and removed the existing (empty) catalog.
All of these efforts have not worked. Each time I try something, as soon as I import any pictures into the catalog, I get 'Elements 9 Organizer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.'
This is brand new software that I am unable to use.
Adobe, please help.

Answers to following queries would help-
* Are you able to import images into Organizer from folder other than your Kodak folders?
* Is your problem happening for importing from a specific set of folders only?
* Is your problematic folder having any video files in it which you are importing into Organizer?

Need Help with Photoshop elements 5.0

I know that this is a very old version of photoshop elements, but I would still like to use it, since I paid $100.00 for it. The problem is that it hasn't been installed onto my computer for awhile and now when I go to install it I get an error msg. each time. The msg is (C: Program Files\Adobe\EspionAlbum.dll. Verify that the file exist and that you can access it)!!
I have gone to the program files and into adobe and the Espion file is there! I have also called adobe technical support and they will not help me because it is such an outdated version. I am really aggrivated with adobe support and would really appreciate any help that anyone might be able to offer! Also, go slow, I am not a computer wiz, for sure! Thank you!

Okay...sorry...it is Windows XP Version 5.1 Does this clarify for everyone? I assumed that most people would get that much once I saw that I left out the XP in the original post!
Now that is out of the way...is it possible for anyone to help me with the problem at hand? Can anyone tell me if I can run Elements 5.0 on Windows XP or are they not compatible? If it should run, then please go back and read the original post so that you will see the issue that I am having! Thanks so much!

a. On what computer operating system do you want to install Premiere Elements 12?
b. Do you have installation files downloaded from Adobe or installation disc from box packaging of the product purchased from an

I'm new to programming with threads. I want to know how to run
multiple threads at the same time. Particularly for making games
in Java which I'm also begining to learn. For running multiple
threads at the same time, do you have to put two run() methods

Each thread is presumably performing a task. You may be performing the same task multiple times or be performing different tasks at once. Either way, each task would typically be contained within the run() method of a class. This class would either be a subclass of java.lang.Thread (extends Thread) or would be an implementation of java.lang.Runnable (implements Runnable). In either case, you would define a method with signature (public void run()...). The difference comes into play when you wish to actually perform one of these tasks. With a subclass of Thread, you would simply perform:
new MyTask().start();
With an implementation of Runnable, you would do this:
new Thread(new MyTask()).start();
This assumes you don't need to monitor the threads, won't be sending any messages to your tasks or any such thing. If that were the case, you would need to tuck away those returns to new MyTask() for later access.
In order to launch two threads simultaneously, you would have something along the lines of:
new MyTask().start();
new MyOtherTask().start();
Now it is perfectly possible that MyTask() would complete before MyOtherTask() managed to start in which case it wouldn't appear as if you had actually had multiple threads running, but for non-trivial tasks, the two will likely overlap. And of course, in a game, these tasks would likely be launched in response to user input, which means that you wouldn't have any control over when or in what order they executed.
Anyhow, it's as simple as that. You should also consider following the Java Threading trail which shows a simple example of using multiple threads. You can find it at:

Help with running bonjour

I can't get bonjour to run on my computer. I have tried uninstalling, installing the previous version and downloading bonjour for windows from apple.The service starts normally and is running but the IE plugin shows "bonjour service not available", running the printing wizard shows the same. I ran the dns-sd which shows

I get into the same situation consistently after switching the network connection from Ethernet LAN to Wireless LAN. The only fix I know of is to restart the PC.

Help with Photoshop Elements, I'm new to it?

So I'm just fiddling around with Photoshop Elements, and I have a picture of a crocodile that I'm trying to turn blue, so I'm using the Smart Brush and Blue Sky effect to change his skin colour.
Firstly, is there an easier way to change the colour of something that I'm missing?
Secondly, how do I control the Smart Brush precisely? The thing is his body is about the same colour as the water so when the brush gets to a certain point the entire image turns blue.
So how do I select the crocodile but not the water?
Thirdly, the brush. I can draw with the brush, but then I get the "wait" symbol and my changes vanish. How do I stop this?

You can make the brush cursor larger & smaller with the bracket keys next to the letter p on the keyboard. This affords more control in making the selection.
Use of the Smart brush tool is probably the easiest way to colorize an object. The tool has a buit-in mask. If you look on the Layers palette (Window>tick layer), the black and white rectangle represents the mask.
Left click on the mask, then access the brush tool (the ordinary brush B) and with a black brush paint over the area where the blue spilled over to the water. If you go too far, paint with a white brush to correct.

Need Help with running expect script on MAC OS

Help with Photoshop Elements 7

Hello,
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 running on Windows Vista. It will not open and all my photos are in it. Help
Where are the photos stored? Should I reinstall Photoshop Elements 7 if I do will I lose all my photos that are in it.

I am not sure what part of PSE will not open. It is my 72 year old mother who lives in the USA that is having the problem. I was there briely. What I saw was the blue icon on the desktop that said PSE would do nothing when you clicked on it. Same with the menu. She has all her family photos in it so she is very upset.
My understand is PSE 4 is also on the computer. I wasn't there when she installed PSE 7 so who knows what happened.
I think the first step to be done is to find the photos on the local disk.
I sent her a message telling her to look under My Documents Pictures for a Adobe folder and open it and look for the pics there.
My question is should she reinstall PSE 7 if the pictures are there? Does she have to remove it first?
Remember she is 72 years old and not good with computers at all.

Help with Photoshop Elements 10 after system restore

Hi I need some help and guidance. I have successfully installed my Photoshop Elements 10 twice now; once on my own; and following a MS Vista System Restore; with the help of Adobe support . I then worked on it for a day and all was well.
But unbeknown to me at the time, I had a MS System corruption that was causing Boot issues resulting in a forced Restore of my system and both Restores caused the Photoshop elements desk-top shortcut to disappear and a subsequent PSE10 re-install to fail with the dreaded Data7 , and "Application Shared Technologies" and rollback of Orgainizer and Editor etc etc.
I now realise that the two events were connected and the Adobe Support Person helped me get PSE10 up and running but it involved a lot of file permission changes etc, which lost me in the process, which was done remotely. PS Great customer support!!
After sorting out my MS Vista problem due to "Corrupt System" files, I now need to get my PSE10 up and running again; but how?

Help with Photoshop Elements

Hello all,
I have a friend who is using Photoshop Elements 3 on a G5 iMac running 10.4.11. After reinstalling the combo updater (she was already on 10.4.11; I was trying to solve some system glitching), Elements stopped working. The File > New, File > Open, and File > Quit menu options are greyed out. Double-clicking on an Elements file doesn't open anything within the program; however, choosing "Open Recent File" works fine.
I've tried the basic fixes (I deleted all related files from her user's Library > Preferences, I repaired permissions, etc.). The original disks are not available, so reinstallation is not an option. I logged in as another user, and the issue went away, so I know it's within her user folder. The problem is . . . where?
If anyone has any thoughts, I'd be very appreciative.

Hi Hazy,
Photoshop Elements (along with some other Adobe products) is extremely sensitive to things like where it is on the disk and what the folder it is in is called. I broke my copy by simply renaming its folder once. Another time I broke it by putting its folder into an enclosing folder. I was able to make it work again by putting it all back in the one true place, deleting prefs, etc. like you did. If you're trying to start it up from an alias, that alias might be causing the problem. I had to make a new alias for it in the dock also.
If you have not done so, you might try shutting down then starting up, as opposed to just restarting. Also empty the trash if the prefs are still in there, after backing them up (or just zip them and put them out of the way). I did all those things when cajoling my copy into working again, but I'm not sure which exact combination of things did the trick.
Hope this story helps you, even though it's a long shot since you didn't mention making changes in the Applications folder.

Help with running PE 2.0 on computer with Windows Vista?

I am having problems opening my older version 2 of photoshop elements after installing it on a laptop with Windows Vista. It loads but freezes up when I try to open the program. I do have the program loaded on a desk top system with XP and it runs just fine. Can any one give me any suggestions to get PE to open on my laptop. Thank you very much.
