Help With Scrolling Menu / Button Rollovers

First thank you to anyone who can answer and help with this
question.
http://paragon.sortismarketing.com
- at this link I have created a site with a simple scrolling menu.
Now what I want to happen is when you rollOver the buttons on the
scrolling menu they get larger and then smaller again after you
roll off them.
I know how to do this with tweening in a non moving
environment, by making them a movie clip instead of button. But for
some reason when I did this in this case it screwed the menu all up
and made it go crazy. Is there a way to do this with action script
that isn't going to screw up the underlying code for the
scrolling?

You can use the below code also. As your mouse pointer goes
over the down, it will scroll down.
on(rollOver){
scrolltext.scroll -= 1;

  • Hi, I need help with scrolling

    Hello I am Kevin Jin, I am working a huge project acually not that big, but I need help with five things, i mihgt have more things in my mind but here it is
    1. I need help with scrolling like where you have buttons for example or press on a navigation bar tab, then it goes to that specific pace of the page, for a one page website, for example some sites you press on contacts and gose down to the bottom of the page where the contacts place is located, not opening a new link.
    2.Second also I need help with navigation bar, where it fallows the scroll as it gose down, like for example when it is html the object is fixed to the top, and when you scroll down it will fallow it it,
    3.I need Parallex scrolling where you can have the timeline or animations run while you scroll in the meantime and have animation running all the time, for example the infographic site where the bees are fluying but still have seperate animations while you scroll
    4.I am so sorry i have two more to go, i appreciate your help, I would also like to ask if like looping each animations sperately, not looping the whole timeline, can it be possible to loop an animation while you have all the interactivity witht he site like looping seperately all the time, without interfeering with all the other animation
    5.I also are wondering if you can create multiple pages on one animate project, like multiple pages with html
    I just moved on to edge animate from html, and html was also beirf learn for me and mostly i was doing design work, and i thought getting out of graphic river and moving on the theme forest would be a better idea for me, thank you guys so much of the help and add me on skype : kevin2019170 or add me on facebook ; [email protected] or graphicriver, www.graphicriver.net/user/phantomore I would appriciate if you just would like contact me through SNS since I have that in hany 24 hours long, but the thred will also do, thank you doo much foryour help,
    P.S, I want also all the five things to work on one aimate project not interfeering with other ideas liek all five questions i had should run on one site,
    THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP AND I APPRICIATE YOUR HELP!

    1.
    write this code in your button Click
    $('html,body').animate({scrollTop: sym.$("Your Symbole Name Here").offset().top}, "slow"); // scroll to the top of that symbol name
    Or :
    $('html,body').animate({"scrollTop":"600px"}, 750); // Higher value means slower , scroll to top page
    1 and 2 see this post http://forums.adobe.com/message/5531344#5531344
    3 use edge commons plugin http://www.edgedocks.com/edgecommons
    4.just put the animations behind eachother so when 1 is done, start with the animating the other symbol/div
    5. i thin its best just to make for every page a new project or make the site in muse.

  • Has anyone had a problem with the menu button

    recently my menu button on my i-pod touch is acting weird, i have to press it a couple of times for it to work or in a certan spot. does anyone else have the same problem? Last night it wasn't working at all but it has gotten better but i still need to press it like 3 or 4 times for it to work.

    I think they mean the home button. Have you dropped your iPod or possibly have gotten crumbs/sand or something small into the button? This happened with my friend's iPod nano last year. She went to the beach and got sand stuck in the center button and now she has to press that button 4 or 5 times to get it to work. Unfortunatley I don't know how to fix this, but I hope this helped a little bit.
    Good luck!

  • Need Help changing a Menu button display Name

    Hello,
    I am extremely new to flash and have inherited a flash file
    from another designer that I need to modify the fourth Button
    called gallery to About Us. I have tinkered with it for like 6
    hours now and can't figure it out completely. I have changed it one
    but lost the action behind it which was simply on mouse over show a
    different look of it.
    I am willing to send the Flash project document to someone
    through e-mail to take a look at it if you can contact me at
    [email protected]
    Basically what is different with this menu bar for me is that
    each button copies the other and changes the name of the button on
    the fly as well. In otherwords it looks in the project that the
    buttons all say "Home" but when I dig down deeper by Breaking it
    Apart I see the text it is suppose to change it to. I just would
    like to change the text but not lose any action or format.

    It would help if you told us what "apple app" you're referring to...

  • Help with spry menu

      HI guys, very good forum! I am new to web design..
    I am trying to build a web but i can not figure out how can get the menu button stay in diferent colour when is clicked and page changed.
    I will give you examples
    http://www.slugandlettuce.co.uk/
      Let say i inserted a spry menu bar horizontal and designed it how i like. What rule would i need to add to get buttons to stay the diferent colour when they are clicked/selected. Could you please help me wth that?
    Thank you very much.
    Roman

    The way to make the button for the current page a different colour is to add an ID to the link, and create a separate style rule for it. For example, the following menu uses "here" as the ID to indicate the current page:
    <ul id="MenuBar1" class="MenuBarHorizontal">
      <li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#" id="here">Item 1</a>
        <ul>
          <li><a href="#">Item 1.1</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Item 1.2</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Item 1.3</a></li>
        </ul>
      </li>
      <li><a href="#">Item 2</a></li>
      <li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#">Item 3</a>
        <ul>
          <li><a class="MenuBarItemSubmenu" href="#">Item 3.1</a>
            <ul>
              <li><a href="#">Item 3.1.1</a></li>
              <li><a href="#">Item 3.1.2</a></li>
            </ul>
          </li>
          <li><a href="#">Item 3.2</a></li>
          <li><a href="#">Item 3.3</a></li>
        </ul>
      </li>
      <li><a href="#">Item 4</a></li>
    </ul>
    With the following rule in the style sheet, the first item is a rusty brown:
    #here {
      background-color:#C60;

  • Help with Spry Menu Bar 2.0 customization

    I am having trouble converting my original Spry menu to version 2.0.
    On my website http://bucknellprimaryschool.org/ the 'old' menu system works just great but not in iPads (ie the sub menu does not pop out).
    I discovered hat Spry 2.0 does work but I cannot replicate the submenu of the original - I can get the menu to pop out but configuring the different colours for each button has me beat this time.  The original was modified using this piece of css to get the coloured rollover effect for the sub menus but I just cannot figure our how to replicate this.
    /**LINK CLASSES**/
    #rollover1 a.item1 {background: #BDDBEC; border-top-right-radius:15px; border-bottom-right-radius:15px; }
    #rollover1 li a.item1:hover,
    #rollover1 li a.item1:active,
    #rollover1 li a.item1:focus {background: white; }
    #rollover2 a.item2 {background: #B4DE8F; border-bottom-right-radius:15px; border-top-right-radius:15px; }
    #rollover2 a.item2:hover,
    #rollover2 a.item2:active,
    #rollover2 a.item2:focus {background: white;}
    #rollover3 a.item3 {background: #F8B084; border-bottom-right-radius:15px; border-top-right-radius:15px; }
    #rollover3 a.item3:hover,

    #rollover3 a.item3:focus {background: white;}
    #rollover4 a.item4 {background: #CCCCCC; border-bottom-right-radius:15px; border-top-right-radius:15px;}
    #rollover4 a.item4:hover,

    #rollover4 a.item4:focus {background: white;}
    #rollover5 a.item5 {background: #CC8BD2; border-bottom-right-radius:15px; border-top-right-radius:15px; }
    #rollover5 a.item5:hover,
    #rollover5 a.item5:active,
    #rollover5 a.item5:focus {background: white;}
    #rollover6 a.item6 {background: #FDD760; border-bottom-right-radius:15px; border-top-right-radius:15px; }
    #rollover6 a.item6:hover,
    #rollover6 a.item6:active,
    #rollover6 a.item6:focus {background: white;}

    #rollover7 a.item7:hover,
    #rollover7 a.item7:active,
    #rollover7 a.item7:focus {background: white; }
    /**END ROLLOVER**/
    Can anyone please give me a steer?
    Thanks
    Graham

    I'm back again.  I actually managed to get the rollover effect to work by creating new classes in my css so I'm thinking of staying with Spry 2.0.  However I've found that using an image file for each of the top line menu items stops the menu popping out in my iPad.  If I revert to a coloured box it works just great.
    Can anyone please tell me how I can change the top level of the vertical menu so that I have a different colour for each item in much the same way as the old image version?
    http://bucknellprimaryschool.org/spry.html is my test file and I have (sort of) fudged the Home item with a coloured 'button'.
    Hope someone can step in to help me.
    Thanks

  • Help with Spry Menu - stopped working

    Dear Forum,
    I used a Spry Horizonatal Bar menu successfully in a site I
    am building. After I modified it to suit my needs it was working
    fine (changed colors, font, variable width box, modified hacks for
    IE6) until I did some code cleaning to achieve WC3 validation. I
    had to change many things in the code, but as far as I am aware
    nothing was even remotely tied to the menu. After several passages
    I realized with horror that the menu (still there) are not working
    anymore. The pull down does not work. I attach the link of the test
    site here:
    site
    Is anyone able to tell me what's not ok in it. I must point
    out that senpai.js do not exists; should i remove that lin of code
    (I am wondering if it does create a conflict - I removed it but to
    no effect, then decided to put it back so I can show you the site
    as it is).
    I would appreciate any help, I am not expert, this is my
    first site and I am sure I am doing something silly; if I just knew
    what it is! I am getting mad trying to progress with this. Now I
    have valid code, with a menu not working! Not too good as you can
    see.
    Help, ideas anyone?
    Thanks in advance!

    syavar: Brilliant!
    I'm on Windows 7 64bit and this Pages panel stuff was driving me nuts: thumbnails at the far right, snapping shut panel when attempting to resize, no scroll bar, blank panel, everything poopy. I tried all the standard deviations: uninstall/reinstall, new workspace, Ctrl+Shift+Alt on startup, delete files manually, and only ocassionally did the Pages panel work as expected, then it would almost immediately revert to bad stuff.
    Your solution worked like a charm, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart...<G>

  • Almost there! Need a little help with CSS Menu

    Hi folks,
    I am almost there with a menu system.  The problems I discovered were mostly to do with layout.css nav elements interfering with my custom code.   http://bendannie2.businesscatalyst.com/flexi2.html
    Here are the problems I can't seem to resolve.
    There appears a red diamond list element and I can't seem to remove it or find it in the Inspector on any css link
    the secondary menus blink and are hard to select on hover over tertiary menus (see On Sale>Cartier> )
    the tertiary menus are a little crowded towards the secondary menus.
    the css classes in inspector seem to repeat ad infinitum
    Any help most deeply appreciated...
    BTW, it works better on a smart phone!
    Jeff

    Thanks, Don't know why I didn't see that...
    I'm stil having a problem with the hover area for selecting sub menus... The problem appears to be the js, I think!, I'm not qualified to analyze jquery.
    The behaviors are as follows:
    The On Sale submenus stay active even when you roll off that menu and select another.
    The hover area after the first scrollover appears to be below the existing text of the top level and not on the text itself.
    there is something going on as you scroll down  through the submenus where they are blinking on and off as you pass each sub tab...   This uses jQuery 1.7.2, so if that has been fixed in a later edition, I don't know...
    Perhaps it is the way I set the CSS but I didn't, to my knowledge, change a hover/selection area for the menus...
    TIA,
    JEff

  • Need help with Pop Menu Magic I

    I'm working on a site, you can see the index page here: http://www.graphicedgepro.com/gcw/index.html
    What I'm attempting to do is have the horizontal menu be in a table cell that has a background and you can see through the menu buttons.  I got this to work, but I need the buttons to be centered in the table cell. Right now they they start on the left side.
    Is there a way to center the menu bar?
    I have Pop Menu Magic II, and I downloaded the update (1.4.9) but when I try to get the menu bar into the cell, it causes the background image to repeat and there is too much space above and below the actual manu bar.  I know I can set this version of this extension to center the menu, but if I cannot get it to look like the Pop Menu Magic I I'm using now, it's not going to help.  I tried just putting the menu in using Cayenne as the color scheme so it would be easier to find the CSS code that I would need to change.  I do not know if I mess with the CSS if I can get the bar to set into the cell the way I need it.  I'm just not sure what to do to get this to be right.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    I am having trouble with my menu bar in IE.  It works fine in Opera, Firefox, and Safari.  In IE when you hover over it it opens on the left hand side and not straight down.  I have tried many things others have suggested with no luck.  I am not very good with code and this is the first website I have worked on as part of my job (wasn't hired on as a web designer! SpryMenuBar.js
    This file handles the JavaScript for Spry Menu Bar.  You should have no need
    to edit this file.  Some highlights of the MenuBar object is that timers are
    used to keep submenus from showing up until the user has hovered over the parent
    menu item for some time, as well as a timer for when they leave a submenu to keep
    showing that submenu until the timer fires.

    Alyssa,
    Have you tried putting this rule back as it was originally:
    /* Submenu that is showing with class designation MenuBarSubmenuVisible, we set left to auto so it comes onto the screen below its parent menu item */
    ul.MenuBarHorizontal ul.MenuBarSubmenuVisible
        left: auto; /*was 9px*/
        color: #EF9CCF;
        background-color: #FFF;
    That is, changing your 9px back to auto.
    And giving  us a link (as you did) is much better than printing out the code for us! Thanks!

    i.e. A field is 30 characters and i can only display 10
    characters, now what I would like is a scroll bar under the text
    item.
    Is this possible. I am using Forms 5.
    Thanx for any help.

    : Hi
    : You need that scrollbar under the item? You can set length
    of
    : text item and its size independently, so you can have text
    item
    : char(30) with size of 10 characters.
    An alternative is to declare the item as a multi-line text item
    with wrap set on. This would give you a vertical scroll bar on
    the item.
    Another option is to programmaticaly pop up an Editor, each time
    focus is moved to the item, or to actually change the width of
    the item when focus moves to it (and shrink it back when focus
    moves away.
