Help!!!! with storing data in an external movie

Hi guys,
I have to make a flash website of a paint dealer. The website would have a background image on the stage and this would be the background of all the pages that are called by clicking on the buttons. Every new called page would be placed on top of this image as a POP UP window (window 1). In one of the pages I plan to show all the colours in an image gallery with thumbnails.
If I click on a thumbnail I'll get a transparent pop up window of the product with information, etc.(window 2)
On that transparent window I'll put some buttons. a.o: "Save colours" So if I click on that button, my chosen colour would be saved in a page where I can collect maximum 6 colours. If I go to that page (let's call that page "My pallet"), then I'll see all the thumbnails of the colours that I've saved.
If I click on one thumbnail in that page then I'll get a pop up window with a bigger image of the colour and some extra buttons. In that page I can delete the chosen colour from "My Pallet" page and if I do that, then that specific colour would be deleted from "My Pallet" page and so "My Pallet" page would consist less thumbnails of the saved colours.
Does anyone have any idea in global how I can make such a website, especially how I can dynamically save the chosen colours and delete them from the external page?

You can use a SharedObject to store data on the client side.

New to Mac, Help with Time Machine! Partition External HDD or not?

Hey Guys I'm a new mac user
I need help with time machine
I wanted to know how time machine works and what all does it back up?
I have 2 hard drives one is of 1TB and one is of 320gb
In the 1TB hard drive i store all my music videos and work stuff it is windows formatted
The 320gb hard drive is mac formatted and I was thinking of making a partition on it one with 250gb for time machine and the remaining 70 gb for mac softwares and files. The ssd of my mac has a capacity of 256gb. I have read for time machine you need at least 2x the space of your ssd on your external hard drive but i don't understand if my ssd is only 256 and can store files worth 256gb why do i need double the space? Secondly if I choose to use the complete 320 gb for time machine will that be okay or even if i choose to partition it to 250gb for time machine will that be fine too? Or will I need to format my 1TB hard disk out of which currently only 300 gb is empty and partition that to 500 gb for time machine?
I'm really confused every tells me to use time machine but do I need it? And what does it exactly do?

The reason that you want a partition (or drive) of 2-3 times the size of your boot drive for Time Machine is so that you can keep backups further back than just the current boot drive state - for that you'd need to make a clone of the drive rather than using Time Machine (see -> http://pondini.org/TM/Clones.html).
For more information for backups in general, see -> Most commonly used backup methods.
Note that you can't use Time Machine to backup a Windows partition.

Help with stored function

When adding a new vendor on the system the vendor is suppose to have a tax clearance certificate and it has an expiry date, so after the certificate has expired a new one is submitted by the vendor.
So i need to know how to have SBO fullfil this requirement ?

Need help with Rollback data if there is error in Data load

Hi All,
We are trying to load data to Oracle 11g database. We want a trigger, procedure or something like that to rollback the data if there are errors in load. Is it possible to do rollback after all the records has been parsed ? So if we try to load 100 records and if there are 30 records with error, we want to rollback after all the 100 records are parsed.
Please advice.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that option. So currently we are only loading data that is validated and erroneous records are rejected using trigger. So we don't get any invalid data in table. But Now users are saying that all the records should be rejected if there is even one error in the data load.

I generally use a much simpler solution for such multi-stage ETL processes.
Each table has a IS_VALID column that defaults to 'N'. Each step of the process only pulls data with the flag set to 'Y'.
That allows me to leave data in the table but guarantee that it won't be processed by subsequent stages. Since most queries that move data from one stage to another ultimately have to read table rows (i.e. they can't just use indexes) it is not a performance issue to add a predicate such as "'AND IS_VALID = 'Y'" to the query that accesses data.
1. add new unvalidated data - automatically flagged an invalid by default of 'N" on IS_VALID column
2. run audit step #1 - capture the primary key/rowid of any row failing the audit.
3. run audit steps #2 through #n - capture error row ids
4. Final step - update the data setting IS_VALID to 'Y' only if a row passes ALL audits: that is, only if there are NO fatal errors for that row captured in the error table.
That process also allows me to capture every single problem that any row has so that I can produce reports for the business users that show everything that is wrong with the data. There are some problems that the business wan't to ignore, others that can be fixed in the staging tables then reprocessed and others that are rejected since they must be fixed in the source system and that can take several days.
For data that can be fixed in the staging tables the data is fixed and then the audit is rerun which will set the IS_VALID flag to 'Y' allowing those 'fixed' rows to be included in the data that feeds the next processing stage.

Help with a Date variable

I'm creating a jscript to automatically rename a file the current days date, but i can't figure out how to get it to put a zero in front of days/months that are single digits. Can anyone help me real quick? Heres the code i already have, pay no attention to the "dh" part, it has to be there:

This little javascript function should help.
Note that it is only meant to work with valid dates. Putting in a -7 for the parameter will result in something not so nice :-)

Having problem with storing data in array

Hi,
I'm having problem on storing data in array. My problem is that each time it loops, the array just keep overwrite instead save to the next index. Like at 0 the value is 123, and 1 is 234. But i having that all data capture all overwrite at 0 till the last data it still show at 0. How do i correct this problem?

How to use array to do comparison? Like Array 1 go thru array 2 to get data Loss out and build an array. Like Array 1 ,1000,1024,1048,etc before 1520 fall in between Array 2 range 1000-1500. So Freq 1000,1024,1048 etc will get Loss value as 1 and 1520 fall in between 1500-2000 will output Loss 2. and so on till the end of the list. How should do this? Need help on this.

Help with calender dates

Hello every one
I have a table with calender dates and there is a indicator which says if it is a working day or an holiday. Is there a way I can write a procedure that will help me fill that indicator column based on the calender dates.
My table looks something like this

Need help with enhanced data source in Production system

Hello Gurus,
1. I enhanced a datasource in BW and populated the field using customer exit using CMOD function. In Dev system, i dont have much data, so I deleted the whole data and did full load.
what shud I do in Production side, so that Delta wudnt be affected??since in production, we have millions of records, we wont do full load., what is the best way to populate the field in production after transporting the datasource to production without disturbing delta's, to reflect the new field for previous years data???
2. can we put 0customer and 0material in the same dimension?? how its going to affect the performance?

Its better not to use them in a single dimension because one customer and take more than one material so if you have 100 customer and 1000 materials this combination will generate a large number of records. Its always better to keep characteristic which are having 1:N relation ship in one dimensional in you case customer and material will have an M:N type of relationship.which will result in slow performance.

You can export a report with saved data and then change the filtering without hitting the DB again. If you are asking if using a flat file as the data source there are multiple ways to do this. Define an ODBC data source to the file and specify the sturcture, or using ADO.NET and a record set, or using XML as the data source. Lots of ways in newer versions of CR. 8.5 was limited so the ODBC example is your best option.
Or if you are asking how to get the data from the report you can use REadRecords. Not sure if 8.5 has this functionality though. It's way past it's end of life so I can't look.

Not supported, 8.5 has no .net assemblies and no RDC, only option would be to use RAS to make changes or reading records so you need to upgrade.

Need help with iphoto and dragging to external hard drive

I have my iphoto very organized into Events and I recently just moved them to be in folders. I would like to have only certain Events (or folders/albums) on the external hard drive. The apple store rep said to go to Finder, Pictures, Iphoto, then right click to "Show Package Contents." Then go to either "original" or "modified." From there I can drag into the hard drive. However, I'm very confused because the "modified" or "original" are not organized at all by folders or events. There are dates only. What can I do to find, drag the events (each are named)? Please help!

In an iPhoto Library? Or in the Finder?
Do not access the Library via the Finder or any other app. You risk damaging your Library and you will lose data.
If you want to have some Events/Albums on an External Disk within iPhoto:
Make sure the drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
Now you have two full versions of the Library.
3. On the Internal library, trash the Events you don't want there
Now you have a full copy of the Library on the External and a smaller subset on the Internal
Some Notes:
As a general rule: when deleting photos do them in batches of about 100 at a time. iPhoto can baulk at trashing large numbers at one go.
You can choose which Library to open: Hold down the option (or alt) key key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library'
You can keep the Library on the external updated with new imports using iPhoto Library Manager
If you want to have them in Folders in the Finder
Use the FIle > Export command to get photos out of iPhoto.

Help with Inconsistent data from NI6211

I'm not getting very far with establishing good data transfer from an NI 6211 and don't seem to be able to pin point the issue or get confidence from DasyLab V10 to be able to look for the problem in another area.
The NI6211 is set for period measurement and automatically uses a low frequency counter with sample on demand. The measurement range is set for 200ms to 1ms
The Dasylab Counter Input task displays the sample on demand and block size of "1".
I have also selected "10" as an output after timeout of 5seconds.
I have set the module to use the Dasylab timebase and have configured all 3 timebases for 1000Hz and (tried higher and lower values) and set block sizes to 1.
Whenever I change the timebase setting I always carry out a synchronise with MAX.
I have been writing to a file using time deducted from data.
With these settings I have the value "10" generated and stored in the file.
When it says "Output after timeout (s) of:", does this mean that their has been no communication for 5seconds even though I can get time stamp information indicating only a few milliseconds have passed?
Does time deducted information mean time deduced information (ie. time stamp from the data)
Is there anything I need to do with A/D window? I have changed the sampling rate in there but it only appears to change the driver setting.

HELP with Advanced Options - Copy Audio into Movie

Thanks for the discussions! I need REAL help - QUICK! I have Keynote 2.0.2 - that I just purchased Dec. 2005. Stupid me! I should have Keynote 3, but I don't.
Why can I NOT save my presentation with audio? Under "Save As," "Advanced Options," I am not able to make use of this option! And when I export my presentation as a QuickTime Movie, it has NO audio!
I need to share this presentation soon and will be very disappointed if I cannot use it.

I need help with viewing files from the external hard drive on Mac

I own a 2010 mac pro 13' and using OS X 10.9.2(current version). The issue that I am in need of help is with my external hard drive.
I am a photographer so It's safe and convinent to store pictures in my external hard drive.
I have 1TB external hard drive and I've been using for about a year and never dropped it or didn't do any thing to harm the hardware.
Today as always I connected the ext-hard drive to my mac and click on the icon.
All of my pictures and files are gone accept one folder that has program.
So I pulled up the external hard drive's info it says the date is still there, but somehow i can not view them in the finder.
I really need help how to fix this issue!

I have a question I'd like to put forward to anyone who can
help me. It's a bit vague, perhaps, but any help would be

I need to make a Flash application into which you can INPUT
data, and then have that data STORED somehow / kept in memory -
probably in an external file of some format outside of the Flash
file, so that the next time you launch the Flash file, that same
EXTERNAL data will be read by the Flash file and will display in
the interface.
The key thing here though is that file will NOT be hosted
online, so it cannot make use of any "online-only" scripting (if
such a thing exists?).
I need to host and run the Flash application from my local
hard drive, and all external files need to be on my local hard
drive too.
Is it possible to set up the scenario I've outlined? Where do
I even begin?
I fully appreciate that this will be a big project, requiring
a great deal of learning on my part, but I'm willing to give it a
go, providing I know where to start...
What am I looking at here? PHP? CGI? XML? Will those run
locally? I really don't know...
