Help with tv out

I bought the DYNEX MP3 player accessory kit that works with the zen. I plugged in the AV cable and plugged it into the tv but it is just a wavy mess and whining sound. What am I doing wrong?

I think you might want to read this...carefully, I found it here http://www.nvidia.com/page/search.html?keywords=TV+out
TV-out on my graphics card is not working. How can I fix this?
To test the TV-out feature of your graphics card, turn off your computer. Then connect the S-VIDEO cable from your graphics card to your TV. If your TV does not support S-VIDEO, then you may need to purchase an “S-VIDEO to Composite” adapter. Once you have all the connections you need, connect your graphics card to your TV. Make sure there are no other devices in between, such as a VCR or switchbox. Then, unplug the PC monitor from your graphics card leaving only the TV connected to your PC. Make sure your TV is set to AUX or Line-In. Otherwise, your graphics card will not detect the presence of a TV. Turn on your PC. The system should automatically detect your TV and send the video signal to your TV. If it does display the video signal onto your TV but stops once you boot into Windows, it may simply be a driver issue. You should download the latest drivers for your graphics card from:  http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=drivers
If you do not get a video signal on your TV when you turn on your PC, then this means that either your TV is not sending a video signal back to your graphics card to let it know that a TV is present, or that the TV encoder that handles TV output is not functioning. If you have a different TV to test with, please perform the same test to see if the TV-out is working. Check that none of the pins inside the video cable are bent or missing. If you cannot get TV output from any TV, then your TV encoder is probably defective. Contact your graphics card manufacturer or retailer where you purchased your graphics card from for possible graphics card replacement if your card is still under warranty.

  • Can anyone help with an out of memory error on CS2?

    Hello,
    I have been battling with an out of memory error on a dell laptop running 2gb of ram. I have had no prior issues with this laptop running CS2 until last week when I started getting the out of memory errors. I have seen several articles about this occuring on later versions of illustrator. Just prior to this issue appearing I had to delete and rebuild the main user profile on the computer due to it consistently logging into a temporary account.
    Once the new profile was established and all user documents and profile settings were transferred back into it, this problem started showing up. The error occurs when clicking on files listed as Illustrator files, and when opening the illustrator suite. Once I click on the out of memory error it still continues to load illustrator. The files are located on a server and not on the remote computer. I have tried to copy the files to the local hard drive with the same result when I try to open them. I also tried to change the extension to .pdf and got no further. I tried to open a file and recreate the work and all I got was the black outline of the fonts. none of the other artwork appeared. once rebuilt, when trying to save, It gives the out of memory error and does not save the file.
    Illustrator was installed on another dell laptop, same model, etc and works fine. no problem accessing network files. I just attempted to use Illustrator from the admin profile on the machine in question and it works fine and lightening fast. Just not from the new rebuilt profile. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the software. it has not helped. could there be stray configuration settings that we transfered over to the new profile that should not have been?
    Any insights will be helpful.

  • Help with "greyed out" option for Publishing a group of Parameters in Motion 5!

    How do you group published parameters in Motion 5, so that you don't have one giant list of published options for Final Cut Pro X?
    My main goal is To publish a compound parameter (a parameter with nested subparameters)
    Looking through Motion Help, it should be as easy as clicking the little disclosure triangle on the right of the inspector, but the word "Publish" is greyed out...

    I know I've looked at rigging, but based off the Motion Help Online Manual, It should be as simple as clicking on the option for publish and have nested subparameters...
    Rigging is excellent, but more steps would be needed to do the same thing i believe...

  • Help with working out layout

    Hi,
    I trying to work out the best way to structure a layout for a
    page that is
    centered with a dropshadow on all sides, and for the main
    large image and
    text below to be flexible height to allow for different font
    settings etc.
    The way I initially layed it out, I did a plain white
    background image for
    each div, with the drop shadow on each side, but that makes
    the heights
    rigid.
    This is a pic of what it should look like -

  • Need help with an Outer Join

    I have the following query which has an outer join and it works perfectly and shows publication paragraph which don't have any maintenance records with a value of 0.
    However when I add to the where clause conditions such as lpm.fac_ident and lpm.start_date, the null values no longer show up in the query(see second SQL statement).
    I am new at SQL and am just trying to make this outer join work. Any help would be appreciated.
    -- THIS WORKS
    SELECT m.publication_paragraph, pm.description, pm.frequency, count(l.publication_paragraph) ACTIVITIES_PERFORMED
    FROM lpm_paragraph_mapping_table m, lpm l, pm_requirements_table pm
    WHERE m.paragraph_alias_mapping = l.publication_paragraph (+)
    GROUP BY m.publication_paragraph, pm.description, pm.frequency
    order by count(l.publication_paragraph);
    -- THIS DOES NOT WORK
    SELECT m.publication_paragraph, pm.description, pm.frequency, count(l.publication_paragraph) ACTIVITIES_PERFORMED
    FROM lpm_paragraph_mapping_table m, lpm l, pm_requirements_table pm
    WHERE m.paragraph_alias_mapping = l.publication_paragraph (+)
    AND l.fac_ident = 'EWR' AND TO_CHAR(l.start_date, 'YYYY') = '2010'
    GROUP BY m.publication_paragraph, pm.description, pm.frequency
    order by count(l.publication_paragraph);

    Hi,
    I just didn't get. The table (pm_requirements_table pm) haven't any join ???
    Regards,Forgive the ASCII art, but your query looks like:
    ----------  JOIN ----------
    | Alias M | ====> | Alias L |
    | Alias PM |
    ----------- The table pm_requirements_table is not joined at all. Unless it has only a single row, then your resultset will have 1 row for each row in lpm_paragraph_mapping_table (because of the outer join) times the number of rows in pm_requirements_table. Consider this simplified example.
    SQL> select * from t;
            ID DESCR
             1 T 1
             2 T 2
    SQL> select * from t1;
            ID DESCR
             1 T1 1
             2 T1 2
             3 T1 3
             4 T1 4
    SQL> select 1.id, t.descr, t1.descr
      2  from t, t1;
            ID DESCR      DESCR
             1 T 1        T1 1
             1 T 1        T1 2
             1 T 1        T1 3
             1 T 1        T1 4
             1 T 2        T1 1
             1 T 2        T1 2
             1 T 2        T1 3
             1 T 2        T1 4Here, my table t is the result from your join between lpm_paragraph_mapping_table and lpm. My table t1 is your pm_requirements_table. You need something more like:
    SQL> select 1.id, t.descr, t1.descr
      2  from t, t1
      3  where t.id = t1.id;
            ID DESCR      DESCR
             1 T 1        T1 1
             1 T 2        T1 2Assuming you fix that join, you can use a sub-query to apply the predicates to the lpm as Centinul showed, or, if you are on a current version of Oracle, use ANSI join syntax wich would look something like:
    SELECT m.publication_paragraph, pm.description, pm.frequency,
            count(l.publication_paragraph) ACTIVITIES_PERFORMED
    FROM lpm_paragraph_mapping_table m,
       LEFT JOIN lpm l,
          ON m.paragraph_alias_mapping = l.publication_paragraph and
             l.fac_ident = 'EWR' AND
             TO_CHAR(l.start_date, 'YYYY') = '2010'
       JOIN pm_requirements_table pm
          on something
    GROUP BY m.publication_paragraph, pm.description, pm.frequency
    ORDER BY count(l.publication_paragraph);Leaving aside the missing join, the reason why your query as posted does not work is that when there is not a match on m.paragraph_alias_mapping = l.publication_paragraph Oracle will "make up" rows form lpm with all null columns for each row in lpm_paragraph_mapping_table where there is no match. So, when you compare those made up rows from lpm, you are effectively saying where NULL = 'EWR' and TO_CHAR(NULL, 'yyyy') = '2010'. Null is never equal to anything. Any comparision against null is unknown, so the made up rows get filtered out by your predicate.

  • Help with figuring out commands for test!

    These are study guide questions, I would appreciate any help!!
    What does the following PowerShell command do?

    What does the following PowerShell command do?
    PS C:> Select-String "[0-9]{10}" audit.log
    Select one: Searches for the literal string "[0-9]{10}" and returns each line containing the string
    Looks for and returns the first instance of the literal string "[0-9]{10}" in the file audit.log
    Looks for and returns each line containing 10 consecutive digits in the file audit.log
    Looks for and returns the first number that is exactly 10 digits found in the file audit.log

    Kills any cmd.exe processes that started exactly one hour ago
    Kills any cmd.exe process that has started in the past hour
    Starts cmd.exe after pausing for one hour
    What does the following PowerShell command do?
    PS C:> ls \users\ephil\Documents | % { move $.FullName -dest $.FullName.ToLower() }
    Select one: Moves each file in \Users\ephil\Documents to a lower directory
    Moves each file in \Users\ephil\Documents to the directory named FullNameToLower
    Moves files with all lowercase characters to \Users\ephil\Documents
    Finds all files containing the words user, ephil or documents and renames them to lower case
    Renames each file in \Users\ephil\Documents to lower case

    It really doesn't help you learn if we're giving you the answers to questions. That said, there are a number of places where the code you've posted has syntax errors. Any place you see "$" with nothing after it in that code (ie, "$.StartTime" or "ls $ |",
    assume they meant to type "$_" ("$_.StartTime", "ls $_ |").
    There are also a lot of aliases and partial parameter names in the code.  This may be deliberate, to get you to play around with the commands and figure out what the cryptic notation really means, but I don't think it's very helpful.  We encourage
    people to use full command and parameter names in scripts to enhance code clarity; the same standard should be applied to your test questions.  Aliases are an optional convenience if you want to save some typing, once you're comfortable with them.
    So, here are the aliases used in your questions, along with their actual command / parameter name:
    % : ForEach-Object
    ? : Where-Object
    ls : Get-ChildItem
    sort: Sort-Object
    select: Select-Object
    move: Move-Item
    -r:  (as a parameter to ls / Get-ChildItem) -Recurse
    -fo: (as a parameter to ls / GetChildItem) -Force
    -dest: (as a parameter to move / Move-Item) -Destination
    Yes the $_. turned out as $. for some reason.
    Could you help me with any of these questions? They will really prepare me well for the test. If you could provide answers for any of them I could then work backwards and figure out how to arrive at the answer.

  • Need help with blown out highlights please

    Hi.  I am not very good with Photoshop and need some help on how to fix the blown out highlight areas of this photo, please.  I've spent the past couple of hours trying to figure this out and have not found a good technique yet.  Any help will be most appreciated.

    First brighten the shot up using an adjustment layer and then brush your highlights back to where they are now. the fact your shot looks so dark,makes the bright areas more noticeable. if they are totally blown in the original,you cant get detail where it does not exist, but making the overall image brighter visually should help in my opinion.

  • Help with printing out Speakable Items folder(s)

    I have a visually impaired family member who would like to learn how to use spoken commands on her iMac.
    I have not been able to find a way to print out the "Speakable Items" folder(s) in order for us to let her know what exactly she can say; it is not at all feasible for her to read it from the screen.
    It's very, very frustrating for everyone to have the Speakable Items feature available, and not be able to use it properly!

    Thanks Niel!
    Having it printed out in the way you suggested helped me.  To make the text large enough for the person with visual impairment to "see", I also resorted to actually typing them out in Pages and making it about 72pt;  I had to print it out so that they can hold the paper right up to their face.

  • Help with audio out when plugging into 3.5" jack on a MacBook's combo input

    With my old iMac, I used to plug my guitar into the 3.5" microphone jack* and either used the computer's speakers or plug headphones into the separate headphone port for audio out.
    Now I have MacBook Air with a headphone/mic combo port. I checked the sound settings in System Preferences and couldn't select speakers for external audio. Is there a way to assign audio-out to the speakers and keep audio-in assigned to the mic/headphone port? Or am I going to need to buy some dongle or adapter now?
    *How did I connect a guitar to the 3.5" port? I used a generic computer speaker wire (3.5" on each side) and plugged a 3.5" to 1" adapter (the kind you use for stereo headphones) into the guitar.

    Hi Tim -
    Please bear with me because I am no Apple expert. However, I do remember reading something that might help you out.
    You wrote that you store your sound libraries are installed on an external drive. Someone, who posted either here or on another Logic bulletin board, basically stated that problems may occur if an external hard disk drive that carries the sound libraries is FAT32 or NTFS formatted (formatted for a Windows-based computer). Apparently, an external hard disk drive utilized for sound libraries should be formatted as *Mac OS Extended* (not journaled). (I hope that someone more expert on this subject will either validate this claim or suggest another option.)
    Try doing a Search in this forum for more information on this subject. But I think how that external drive is formatted might make a difference on performance for the Mac computer.
    I come from the PC world as well. I like both the Apple and PC systems. But I really like working with the Logic program.
    Good luck to you

  • Help with cleaning out my library

    Like many users I have a large iTunes library where most tracks are conveniently organised into Playlists or Albums. However, over the last couple of years, it is true that some playlists have been deleted and, indeed, tracks added to the Library which do not appear in any playlist but which I may or may not want to keep.
    Is it possible, therefore, to do something within iTunes to help me find those tracks that do not belong in any Playlist (for example) so that I can then listen to each one and decide if I want to keep it or not? (perhaps using a Smart Folder or something?)
    Also, assuming I end up with a bunch of tracks in a Smart Folder which are not attributed to any playlist, how do I delete these tracks from the folder AND from the Library at the same time?

    The way I have my music organised is by Playlists representing either Albums or pieces of work by the same artist. However, for quite some time, iTunes has also been my default mp3 or aiff player which means that quite a lot of random audio has drifted in there. Since iTunes doesn't have any clever way of tidying up the Library (e.g. Library Folders or "Shelves") I am looking at a way to quickly weed out the stuff I don't want to keep. Using the logic that most of the stuff I want has already been placed in PLAYLISTS, I would like to find a way to push all the stuff that Isn't allocated to a playlist into one Folder where I can decide whether to keep or to trash.
    Therefore - my question is.....Can I quickly sort un-allocated music to a Folder and then trash individual items from that folder (and the Library) at the same time if necessary?
    By "un-allocated music" I mean the tracks in the Library which do not belong to any Playlist in iTunes.
    Alternatively - can anyone suggest a neat way to tidy the library with 1708 items in it, some of which may be unwanted.

       * @param  args  The command line arguments - not used
      public static void main(String[] args)

        cashPaid = keyboard.readDouble();
        temp = cashPaid - purchase;
        dollars = (int) temp;
        temp = temp - (int)temp + 0.0000001;
        change = (int)(temp * 100);
        System.out.println();
        System.out.println("$" + dollars + "." + change);
    }Ive been given the amounts 23.06 for amount of purchase
    and 30.00 for the amount paid. that should give me the difference of $6.94
    It should print out the amount of change as the following
    6 dollars
    3 quarters
    1 dime
    1 nickel
    1 penny.
    IVe tried a few methods for printing out the # of each coin type, but i simply dont get how they are using temp or what type of funciton i need to follow. Any hints or pointings in the right direction would help. Since i need to learn this.
    Thanks a lot and i hope i can get some tips. !

  • [GeForce PCe] Help with TV-out and DVI on NX6600 PCI express

    My NX6600-TD256E doesn't give me any output on TV-out (S-vid) or the DVI. The VGA is okay.
    On my old Radeon card you had to switch the TV-out on in software. On the NX6600, I can't find anything in software to let me do this. Should the TV-out work all the time or does it need enabling somewhere. I've been through every tab on the Nvidia driver in the system tray and the display properties. The manual doesn't cover my card but a similar model and the screen shots are different.
    The DVI doesn't work if I go DVI from the card to DVI on my monitor. The Card is DVI-I and the monitor is DVD-D. I would have thought that this should work. If I use the DVI out through the  VGA adapter to go DVI from the card to VGA in on my monitor it works, but this just means there is an analog signal coming out the DVI.
    Any help?

    Not sure about your card but with most geforce cards,  you have to go into the nvida control panel to enable tv out.

    Hi,
    I Have this database structure:
    Artist(IDA,Name,Year_b)
    Work(IDW,Title,IDA,IDL)

    I Want to do a query that retrieve for one Artist all Works availables on database and,if present,the City where each work was realized.
    This SQL code is correct?
    SELECT Name,Title,IName
    FROM Artist a,

    If it's not correct, what type of correction need it?
    Thanks for Help
    Andrea

    If you asked... The original query works, but it is not "right".
    You should use either the old Oracle style of joins, like in the VM's query, or, better, the ANSI join style, recommended by Oracle (not a mix of them, like in your query):
    SELECT a.name,
           w.title,
           c.iname
    FROM  artist a
    JOIN  work  w
       ON  w.ida = a.ida
    LEFT OUTER JOIN city c
       ON  w.idl = c.idl
    WHERE  a.ida = '2'

    ????          5          NULL          1     2
    ????          5          NULL          2     3
    ????          5          NULL          3     4I've tried a number of different things, googled my problem, and no luck yet...
    SELECT     t1.workstation
    ,     SUM(t1.my_value)
    ,     t2.wkstn_name
    ,     t3.my_nbr1
    ,     t3.my_nbr2
    FROM     my_tab1 t1
    ,     my_tab2 t2
    ,     my_tab3 t3
    ...So, what I want is a full outer join of t1 and t2 on workstation, and a cross-join of that with t3. I'm wondering if I can't find any examples of this online because it's not possible....
    Note: I'm stuck dealing with Oracle 8i
    Thanks!!

    Hi,
    The query I posted yesterday is a little more complicated than it needs to be.
    Since my_tab2.workstation is unique, there's no reason to do a separate sub-query like mt1; we can join my_tab1 to my_tab2 and get the SUM all in one sub-query.
    SELECT       foj.workstation
    ,       foj.sum_my_value
    ,       foj.wkstn_name
    ,       mt3.my_nbr1
    ,       mt3.my_nbr2
    FROM       (     -- Begin in-line view foj for full outer join
              SELECT        mt1.workstation
              ,        SUM (mt1.my_value)     AS sum_my_value
              ,        mt2.wkstn_name
              FROM        my_tab1   mt1
              ,        my_tab2   mt2
              WHERE        mt1.workstation     = mt2.workstation (+)
              GROUP BY   mt1.workstation
              ,        mt2.wkstn_name
                    UNION ALL
              SELECT      workstation
              ,      0      AS sum_my_value
              ,      wkstn_name
              FROM      my_tab2
              WHERE      workstation     NOT IN (     -- Begin NOT IN sub-query
                                               SELECT      workstation
                                       FROM      my_tab1
                                       WHERE      workstation     IS NOT NULL
                                     )     -- End NOT IN sub-query
           ) foj     -- End in-line view foj for full outer join
    ,       my_tab3  mt3
    ORDER BY  foj.wkstn_name
    ,       foj.workstation
    ,       mt3.my_nbr1
    ,       mt3.my_nbr2
    ;Thanks for posting the CREATE TABLE and INSERT statements, as well as the very clear desired results!

    The tricky part is how and when to get SUM (my_value). You might approach this by figuring out exactly what my_tab3 has to be cross-joined to; that is, exactly what should the result set of the full outer join between my_tab1 and my_tab2 look like. To do that, take your desired results, remove the columns that do not come from the full outer join, and remove the duplicate rows. You'll get:
    workstation     sum(my_value)     wkstn_name
    ABCD          30          WKSTN 1
    A123          35          WKSTN 2
    B456          0          WKSTN 3
    ????          5          NULL          So the core of the problem is how to get these results from my_tab1 and my_tab2, which is done in sub-query foj above.
    I tried to use self-documenting names in my code. I hope you can understand it.
    I could spend hours explaining different parts of this query in more detail, but I'm sure I'd waste some of that time explaining things you already understand. If you want an explanation of somthing(s) specific, let me know.

  • Need some help with figuring out numbers

    I downloaded the newest version of numbers on my computer and created a new document.  However, now it will not let me get in that document because it says I do not have the latest version of numbers.  I checked and I do have the latest update for the software.  Any suggestions??

    Hi Jim,
    I am trying to guess how you figured it out. For the benefit of other users, please tell. Perhaps this will help:
    Wayne Contello has written a User Tip for this problem in the new releases of iWork.

    The trick is to drag icons for both versions to your Dock. Right click or control click on each and Options > Keep in Dock. That puts you in charge of which version you launch.
    Instead of double clicking the document, run whichever version of Numbers suits and use File > Open.

    Ian.
