Help with using Program unit.

How do I use a program unit. I am creating a procedure trying to understand how to use it.
I added 2 parameters to the layout. :P1_TEST and :P2_TEST
I created a simple program unit to place information into them
procedure test is
begin
:P1_TEST := 'YES';
:P2_TEST := 'NO';
end;.
When I run it nothing happens.

The procedure must be callled in order to initialize the parameters.
In your case, you can call the procedure test in a Reports Trigger : the Before Report for example

    Hello. I am somewhat new to Java and I was recently assigned to do a simple paint program. I have had no trouble up until my class started getting into the graphical functions of Java.   • Alert window on opening a form with dup. program unit in form and PLL

    Can anyone help here? I'm upgrading a large system from forms 4.5 to forms 6i (yes, we're behind). I use an attached library for about two dozen procedures. In some cases, some of the procedures have been overriden in the Form. When I open the form in the forms designer, I get the alert message: "A Program Unit XXXXX already exists. Continue creation?"
    This happens where the program unit in the library was overriden in the form. I presume since the form program unit will be found first at execution time that this message is nothing to worry about. Indeed, I have had no failures related to this yet.
    Can anyone verify that this is the normal functioning of Forms 6i? Or is there a way to turn this off?

    You can't really believe that his brother did this
    for him...I did miss that copyright line at the beginning when
    I first looked it over, but you know, if it had been
    his brother, I'd be kinda impressed. This wasn't a
    25 line program. It actually would have required
    SOME thought. I doubt my brother woulda done that
    for me (notwithstanding the fact that I wouldn't need
    help for that program, and my brother isn't a
    programmer).I originally missed the comments at the top but when I saw the complexity of what was written then I knew that it was too advanced for a beginner and I relooked through the code and saw the comments.

  • Help with a Program I am writing!  Please!

    This is my first post...I hope to find some answers to my program I am writing! A couple things first - I am 17, and have designed a comp. science class for myself to take while a senior in high school, since there was not one offered. My end of the 2nd term project is to write a program that encompasses the information I have learned about for the past two terms. I know the very basics, if that. Please help!

    I am hoping to add a part to this program that basically tells the program if the dice show doubles, pop up a little GUI window that says "You are a Winner! You Got Doubles!"
    I was thinking as I finished chapter 7 in my text book, that either an 'if/else' or 'switch' statement might be the right place to start.

    This is the homework my professor assigned for me.
    Assignment 2: Write a program that rolls two dice 1000 times, counting the number of box cars (two sixes) that occur, in object-oriented way. (In other words, do not make all your code in one main() method. Use classes and objects.) Use a overloaded constructors.

    I've gotten pretty far with this program thanks to all your help but I've got another question.
    My program so far has been able to display the result of rolling 2 six sided dice 1000 times. I've used Boxcars.java as my Client and Die.java as my overloaded constructor. Now I want to display the number of Boxcars(Double six)by rolling a six-sided die and a 20 sided die together.
    My question is would I code that in Boxcars.java or Die.java.

    I've to write a program that generates a random number, which the user has to try and guess, after each guess they're told whether it's too high or too low etc., I've gotten this far, however, the user has only 10 guesses.... In my program I've used a while loop and the user gets an infinite number of guesses, I know I'm supposed to use a for loop, but can't seem to get it to work properly. Also, when the user guesses the number, the program then has to print out how many guesses it took, and I have no idea how to get it to do this AT ALL!!! I'd really appreciate some help with this, thanks v. much!!!!

  • Help with using multiple hard drives

    Is there a way to install the OS on an "external" (expresscard SSD) drive, but have all of the library and data files on the primary hard disk? I LOVE the speed on my SSD, but it's a pain finding stuff now. Is this something a RAID configuration could help with?

    You can, but I would +*strongly recommend against+* it. See +Concatenated RAID+ in the Help for Disk Utility.
    There are several potential problems:
    Depending on how much data is on your 1 TB drive, 750 GB may not be enough to back it up. See #1 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum).
    To set up a +Concatenated RAID+ set, both drives will be erased.
    When (not if) either drive fails, you'll lose all the data on both.
    Both drives must be connected any time you do a backup or want to browse your backups.
    Especially with USB, if one drive wakes from sleep, or spins up, quickly enough, but the other one doesn't, the backup may fail and/or your backups may be corrupted.
    For now, it looks like my only solution is to go buy a bigger external hard drive and spend more money,,,
    That's your best solution +*by far.+* Anything else is taking a large risk with your backups.

  • Help with Recurrsion program

    I seem to be having a little problem with my program. In my main program, depending on which method comes first, the other methods wont work for example the way my main program is not, with occurance method before removeLetter method, the occurance method works fine, but my removeLetter meth won't remove the letter. But if i switch the two and have removeLetter first then it will remove the letter, but my occurance method will come back say the letter is not in the word even when it is...can someone help me?   • Little Help with my program..

    Ok... I am not completely finished with the program but I need to figure out something before I move on. This program is reading in information from a file. The thing I am having a problem with is how I can get it to add the GPA for each group of people, instead of adding the GPA for everyone in the file!! This program is basically reading in, the "groups living group", the name of each student, and their GPA. If you run my program, you will see a printout of "GPA sum in group" and GPA sum overall, I figured out how to get the sum overall for all the groups, but I cant figure out how to get the sum for each individual group! I hope this makes sense!!! If you need more clarification just ask!!! Thanks in advance! Also, I have compiled the program already and it runs just fine..!

    I need help with what needs to be done to use solaris Flash for disaster recovery between the disparate Server platforms listed below.
    I am concerned about the platform specific files that would be missing?
    Note: All our servers are installed with the SUNWCprog cluster through Custom jumpstart and We use disksuite for mirroring the operating system drives.

    Is it possible to get around installing the Entire Distribution + OEM and include only the platform specific files?
    Just a thought
    Example:
    I would like to create a Flash Archive of a E2900 server which i plan to use to recover a 6900.
    The 2900 was installed with a developer cluster.
    When creating the Flash archive of the 2900 is it possible to add the 6900 platform specific files and drivers
    from the Solaris CD?

  • Help with using a web page from disk after saved from web

    Hi, I almost forgot the little I learned about web page development, so, I'm a total noob when it comes to this and I need your help.
    I saved as a complete web page on my hard disk this web page but when I open it in Firefox or IE, it doesn't display as much as I need it. I'm mostly interested  in displaying the logo images as they appear on the original web page. The browsers just show them briefly when refreshing but hide them right away. I can see the image files downloaded to my hard drive and if I open the page in Dreamweaver it displays these images  in the preview pane but I can't make them show in the browsers. From Dreamweaver I saved the page as in the folder where the images are and this also updated the code with the relative image links but the browsers still don't show them.
    I will greatly appreciate your help with this.
